Mon Décarie Hot Dogs tu me manques,
Client régulier depuis la fin des années 70, les fois où j’ai habité ailleurs, dès que je revenais à Montréal je passait me chercher 2 steamer et une frite souvent même, dès mon arrivée. Que dire de Nic qui m’as toujours reconnu malgré les milliers de clients qu’ils servaient…
Retraité et vivant en Thaïlande, tu me manques plus que toute autre gastronomie incluant mes smoked meat.

Personnel très bête. Accepte seulement l’argent comptant et possibilité de retirer via un guichet atm appartenant au restaurant donc ils empochent une partie des frais plus l’argent du repas. J’ai vu le cuisinier faire 2-3 allez retour pour aller chercher de la nourriture dans le sous-sol puis ensuite, faire de la nourriture sans jamais se laver les mains et s’essuyer sur son vieux tablier sale. L’ambiance était tellement lourde à cause de l’attitude du cuisinier, personne n’osait parler. La sauce à poutine était presque jaune et honnête pas mangeable. Tellement pas bonne que j’ai arrêté après deux bouchées par peur d’être malade vu la salubrité horrible. Cela semblait être une belle place mythique pour moi mais jamais je ne retournerai dans ce restaurant.

Not bad and not good. Just a normal hot dog i could've made at home. Not worth going out of your way.

What a disgusting restaurant, the poutine actually tastes old, the fries are inedible and the hot dogs are very average.the only good thing is that its cheap.

Definitely would NOT recommend this place. Bad food, bad service.

Poutine tastes so bland, no space to sit, only cash.

Service is absolutely the worst. I ordered a hot dog, and said “thank you sir” and the guy behind the counter was like “how old do you think I am, don’t call me sir”. I told him it was said out of respect, and he responds with “I don’t need it, I’ll take it when I get to that age. ” Totally unnecessary comments, would never come back here ever again.

One of my favourite poutine spots for a quick grab’n go but prices have been progressively going up (inflation is understandable.) however portions have also been reduced compared to a few years back

Le service etait mauvais et la poutine pas tres bonne. Tres cher pour le peu de qualite. Poutine avec frites congelees. Malheureusement, Decarie hot dog nest plus ce quil etait.

My favourite place for poutine and hotdogs. Quick service and they are very accommodating! This place has been open for so long.

Tout est froid, hot dog vraiment ordinaire, frites molles. Ne faites pas le détour si vous voyez le resto dans les listes de « tastet » autre. Allez ailleurs….

This is a Montréal institution when comes to hotdogs and poutine. Went there early to avoid any traffic on the way. Loved the way the staff interacted and offered their services. It is a small spot and on a lovely sunny day, even enjoyable to sit outside and have a bite. I don’t understand why some has complained about the restaurant being small. Do they except fine dining like seating for hotdogs? To me it is just perfect.
The steamiest were one of the best I had in Montréal. Tried their breakfast eggs, toast and fries which was decent. Sadly no poutine coz I went early.
Street parking only so plan your trip accordingly.

Update

prices gone up for the poutine ($9) up But they change the oil (lard) more often. Still a great prices for fresh homemade gravy which is not the powdered stuff and gresh cut fries (double fried)

Best poutine in town. (For non montreal folks) they use lard, fresh cut fries and home made gravy.

Fries are very hot so the cheeze melts, it won't be rubbery for the people that like it that way.

EXCELLENT hot dogs also, but the star of the show are the fries.

Take out Only but there are somes tables outside.

Hot dog pas au top
Frites qui goûté trop l'huile passée date.et un arrière goût bizarre.
Pas recommandable

Ce soir c'était le Club du Vendredi.
Très bonne option pour les végétariens.

Cette fois, le Cheeseburger était à l'honneur. En version all-dressed + relish, découpé puis déposé sur une poutine classique.

Essayez la nouvelle poutine all-dressed, un merveilleux plat composé à base de poutine à la salade de choux par-dessus laquelle on dépose un hot-dog all-dressed coupé en tranches, le tout nappé d'une bonne louche de sauce.

Un vrai régal.

The best Fries and hot dogs in the world. I have never had any fries that compare while travelling across North America and Europe.

The poutine was fine, but the sauce tasted different from what I'm used to. The restaurant is tiny and it doesn't seem all that clean.

Started going here beginning of high school in 90s. Always a treat to stop by. Last 15yrs once in a while if I'm in the area.
Normally food has always been great over the years but recent few visits haven't been as great.
I have to say my most recent visit few weeks ago was dissapointing poutine gravy was so bland, portion bit too light. I'm sure a key ingredient was forgotten and taste was not checked. Ordered a cherry coke received a cheap cott brand dark berry and the dogs weren't dressed as I asked. I've noticed quality diminishing over the years. Still a great resto n staple of Montreal, they been around for decades. Hopefully my recent visit was just a 1off and overall quality can be reestablished.
