Mystique! Un des endroits les plus mythiques de Montréal. Des soirées de jazz presque toute la semaine. L'endroit est relativement petit ce qui lui donne plus de charme. Je vous recommande fortement de réserver une table avant d'y aller. Placer votre commande avant le début de la présentation idéalement pour prendre le temps d'apprécier la musique. Touriste ou local, un endroit a visiter absolument.

Live jazz music every night. Super talented musicians! My favorite is Latin Jazz in Monday night! Food is good, and cover fee reasonable!

Beau, bon et inspirant. J'aime bien manger là-bas en écoutant un band de jazz. J'aime l'ambiance, le choix des musiciens et la nourriture.

Basement jazz club. Reservations strongly recommended, at least for the weekend. We came on a Saturday of the Labor Day long weekend and all of the seating, including at the bar, with visibility to the band was full. There was also seating without visibility that was mostly empty.

Great spot to chill, good friendly staff with a great sounds for the band! I didn't try the food but it smelled and looked great!

A bit expensive, but great intimate and small place, feels like a private concert, great food options and drinks. 10/10 definitely swag

Lovely quaint underground jazz bar near Parc La Fontaine. Watched a set of 5 songs from a local musician (saxophone player) accompanied by the most talented piano player I have ever witnessed, bass player and terrific drummer. Staff was attentive, great seats throughout the place to see the stage and yummy reasonably priced drinks.

Boîte de jazz parfaitement située le long de la piste cyclable même si le propriétaire n'a toujours pas tourné la page et continue à faire des jokes plates sur les aménagements cyclables en préambule à ses soirées. Il croit toujours que tout le monde vient en voiture dans son établissement sur le plateau.
Le son est juste bien. On ne te casse pas les oreilles et on demande le silence pendant les prestations, ce qui permet d'avoir une expérience de qualité. Nourriture correcte mais un peu chère.

Un jazz bar sans prétention, mais c’est ce qui fait son charme. Nous sommes arrivés 45 minutes avant la fin de la présentation. Le service était excellent, l’hôtesse ne nous a pas chargé de cover fee, puisque nous sommes arrivés vers la fin. Le service était chaleureux et attentionné, la nourriture était surprenamment délicieuse et que dire du jazz band incroyable! Ce fût magnifique soirée à refaire. C’était la première fois pour mes amis qui ont adoré et qui veulent y revenir sous peu.

Was told $15 cover when we arrived and then charged $20 on bill. Was told to be quiet multiple times throughout the night when our table was at the back of the restaurant/bar, stage out of sight. Am I suppose to look at a band playing on a tv screen and not talk with my good company? Weird. The waitress was rude but probably just cause her boss was causing problems and customers were not happy with their experience. I’m sure there are better places to see jazz in mtl. It would be much better if PAYING customers were not be told how to act.

Had a terrible drink that was watered down and the music was okay. Could be just me, but did not live up to its name. Sorry.

A bit to pricey for the quality. The French fries were not the best. The place however hosts live bands on Mondays and that's worth the 4 stars. Great vibe, great music, great people!

The food is amazing. I had the tuna tataki and it is top class. Drink menu has good selection of whiskeys and gins.

Meilleures pâtes que j'ai mangé de ma vie. Les plats sont préparés avec soin et sont tout simplement délicieux. Attendez vous à réserver à l'avance et à payer assez cher, mais ça en vaut vraiment la peine. C'est un endroit chaleureux et accueillant.

Un peu cher, mais ça vaut absolument la peine. Le groupe que j'ai vu était incroyable et l'ambiance du bar marchait très bien avec. Bons cocktails et gentils serveurs aussi.

What a wonderful night, Mondays with Alex Bellegarde Latin Jazz Quartet. The service was great, authentic servers who care about you. The menu is simple but creative. The T-Bone steak was huge so it’s definitely worth the price. Wine suggestion was perfect. I can’t even describe how great the energy of the musicians was, they include you in their positive vibes, make you sing, dance in your seat. Perfect date spot and a great way to relax after a long monday at work for sure! Can’t wait to go back.

Great food and really good music, reminds me of the old jazz clubs in the village. Nice way to end our stay in Montreal.

One of Montréal's few Legendary Jazz Bars that are still in business after the Golden Years have passed (ended approx.late 90's), where you can regularly go watch the "Crème de la Crème" of Jazz Musicians, mostly Local (Montreal) and visiting artists (from around the Province and Abroad).

Besides the Upstairs, the Dièse Onze (french for sharp eleven/ #11 for you musicians out there) is the "other" great Jazz Bar.

Technically, it's a Resto/Bar, and you can eat decently to relatively well there, but be warned: the Food is seriously overpriced. Not to a ridiculous point, but still, you'll want to stick with the cheapest items on the Menu (like their Burger) if you don't want to end up paying 50$/person, UNLESS you don't mind and/or want to treat yourself, maybe to celebrate a special occasion. But still, if your goal is to eat amazing food, you can find absolutely mindblowing food at other places for the same price or less.

I want to emphasize that I am in no way saying that the quality of the food is sub-par, or not to eat there! No! I just wanted to let you know what to expect in terms of pricing. It's pretty solid food!

As for the Bar side of things.there, you're in for a treat: they've got a rock solid selection of great Beers, Wines (including various Champagne), Liquors and Drinks. You can pick your poison of choice and you'll be satisfied, at any price range!

Lastly, I wanted to talk about the Hosting and Service. The Dièze Onze already has so many strengths, but one of the best part of the experience (besides the music, of course), is the way you're treated by all staff members. They are all genuinely happy to be there, to serve you, they're EXTREMELY polite, classy, knowledgeable and always smiling. If you're having a really bad day, are depressed, interacting with the staff/waiters is bound to lift your spirits!

There's also the decor, which is fitting for a small Jazz joint located in a basement. To help you better visualize what comes next, I'll briefly give you the layout of the place.

It's pretty much a rectangular room (although the dimensions make it close to a square), and the room's width is a bit less than its depth. Except for a small reception area in front, the center of the room is occupied by the bar, running along the depth in such a way that it separates the room in a left and right side.

The scene is located at the back of the left side, in such a way that the view is completely blocked by the bar for anyone who's sitting on the right side space.

This is my only gripe about the place, as it's already pretty small, and if you come for a show, I STRONGLY ADVISE you to make reservations well in advance and ask for a table as close to the scene as possible, because if you end up on the other side of the room, you're pretty much screwed. The owners are obviously well aware of this problem since they've installed a TV there to stream a view of the scene.

This might be ok for some, but for any music aficionado, that's unacceptable and a total deal breaker! When you go out (and pay the ticket) to go watch a live music concert, it sure as hell isn't to watch it on TV while the Guys are playing right next to you!

So. All in all, especially since it's one of the best Jazz venues in town, I find Le Dièze Onze to be a truly magical place, well worth going to!

As long as you're aware of its 2 setbacks ($$$ Food & Blocked view of the scene) and take the appropriate measures to sidestep the 2nd issue by making sure that you get a table on the left side, you'll be more than fine with all this venue's other great features, especially the impeccable service from the staff!

With the proper precaution/prep, you'll be guaranteed to be in for an amazing experience!

L'ambiance et le service était excellent. Mon assiette de pâtes était très bonne, mais le spaghettini manquait de cuisson et ça semblait plus un spaghetti qu'un spaghettini.

In general, all in the table agreed on giving 3.5 of 5 points.
The service, good. The waiter, of course, gently pushes you to order food.it is his job.
The food we ordered was good but nothing special and a little bit expensive for the quality and for very common tastes.
Concerning the jazz, first I have to say that we don’t know too much about jazz, we are just amateurs who like certain styles of jazz more than other. That night during the show we saw a lot of happy faces who seemed to be enjoying the music. In our case, we didn’t like the style, it was too quiet for us.
If we would come again? Considering that you pay a cover of $15/person, for the show and because of quality and prices of food the answer is.maybe but only to take some drinks with one or two tapas and to listen to a different group.

Fantastic bar. Excellent service, wonderful live music, cozy atmosphere and food to die for. We had poke bowls, scallops and the best rib of beef ever with amazing crispy potatoes. We came for the live jazz but were blown away by the unexpected high end cuisine.

Il y avait une soirée Big Band, un vrai délice pour les oreilles. Que dire de la nourriture, tout était succulents. Une magnifique soirée entre amis.

Très chaleureux, cosy, intimiste et musique jazzy géniale: ça vaut bien sûr la peine de payer le droit d'entrée.
Les vins sont pour moi qui suis français très bons.
Les repas proposés sont concoctés avec attention et succulents

The server expertly attended all patrons. This is a must-visit bar for good service and food.

Tout simplement le meilleur club jazz à Montréal! À noter par contre que les drinks et repas sont assez chers et que le service laisse souvent à désirer. Ils sont généralement under-staff, ce qui fait que le service est lent et les serveurs ont tendance à être un peu bêtes.

Beautiful establishment with a great live music shows starting from 7: 30pm and 9: 30pm. There is $12 cover charge if you go for shows.
They have a good alcohol menu with a lot of choices for different liquors and wines.
I enjoyed their burger very much. It was juicy and the cheese added a great flavour. I forgot to check carefully on the menu, but it was probably brie or camambert.
Salmon tartare and beef tartare has 2 different options; tapas portion or meal portion with salad, potatoes and croûtons. I don't know if the tartare itself would be in different portions or the meal means + salad and potatoes.
Monday night has Latin jazz live music which was great to dance salsa in tiny spaces between the tables. You need to be careful and in control not to bump into other clients or tables so you would not be the bad annoying client
I would definitely go back again.

Mon endroit préféré pour aller écouter du jazz en live, cet endroit est une expérience en soi. Belle atmosphère tamisée avec un bon roulement de musiciennes/musiciens, encourageant la scène de musique jazz (du programme universitaire de jazz, à la jeunesse, aux musiciens.ennes.plus expérimenté. Es.). La nourriture et les boissons sont bonnes. À visiter absolument!

I am really amazed with this place. Everything was way above average, like ambient, food, options of drinks, service, sound quality, and, of course, Kim Richardson Trio performing on Sunday, that by itself would deserve a sixth star in this review. Kim's voice and interaction with the audience is something unforgettable. You guys got a new fan! I definitely recommend this place.

Amazing jazz bar. Top notch artists appearing often at ridiculously low cover with a great kitchen and bar service! You won’t be disappointed! We try to go every time we are in Montreal!

Excellent food, great atmosphere, one-of-a-kind in the Montreal music scene. Book seats for shows early - they fill up fast, and for good reason!
