Cute bar with a variety of drinks on offer. Non pretentious, good service and fair prices. Went in on a Friday night without reservation and were seated immediately.
We were rushed to order, to eat and to pay & leave. Food was good (not great), music was too loud and the waitresses seemed annoyed at the clientele. I’ll however give it another try, hence the current rating.
The atmosphere was nice, staff attentive and parking was easy but I wasn't wowed by the cocktails. They were good but my wife did not care for them. I picked the place because the reviews were good. I thought the fruity cocktails were sour, most seemed to include bitters which I am not a huge fan of. There was a pretty dry bourbon one that I really wanted a touch sweeter. The presentation of each drink was really classy.
We had a great night here! The drinks were special and our waitress was really awesome. The drinks aren't cheap though, so if you want to drink a lot, go somewhere else unless you're got the money to spend.
This place was fantastic. The staff are amazing and the bartenders always make your drink in a fun way; they seem to work like a huge family. Would definitely come back here when I'm in Montreal again
The server didn’t know what tequila they had. A double tequila on the rocks was $16. A bit pricey for a bar with a bathroom that smells worse than an outhouse. Wouldn’t recommend.
Enjoyed the spot. Was busy, but the owner volunteered her seat for us. Bartender was friendly and attentive. Old fashioned was made very well. Great spot for pre or post dinner drinks.
Popped in for a drink after dinner down the street, sat down and ordered a pitcher of 'Pink Rhum Punch' for 40 bucks, received a pitcher of soda water and juice. I work in the service industry and hate to complain but this 'cocktail' was laughable. Politely asked NADINE if it hadn't had the chance to be stirred, and proceeded to receive the most unfriendly and unwelcoming service by a barmaid EVER. She was unable to accept criticism and when we ordered a few shots later, she continued this stand-offish behaviour. NADINE was extremely genuine and fun with other customers (regulars?), However would not even make eye contact or conversation with myself or my girlfriend. I'll be telling anyone who thinks of going there about this experience. Overall felt unwelcome and disrespected. Would not recommend.
Nice spot for a cocktail. The current cut out container out front is good for al fresco drinking. The person who took my order was helpful and welcoming, offering suggestions and being generally very nice. I can't comment on the pricing in comparison to other beverage vending establishments, but I wasn't crying into my gin and tonic after paying the tab.
An always-reliable, no-nonsense spot to have a drink and catch up with your thoughts, catch up with a friend, or hangout with a group of friends.
Feel like "grabbing a drink", but not sure what you're in the mood for? Go here. It'll be the right mood. It's where I go when I don't want to worry too much about where I want to go.
The drinks are a tad expensive and the music is quite loud for a bar. Seeing that there's no dancing space I don't quite get it why the music is played loud enough for a group of people to not be able to hear what the person across the table is saying.
The place is nice for a couple of drinks but the service not so much. When we payed our bill, the waitress complained because one of us didn’t leave a tip. He claimed he was not obliged to do so and that he decided not leave a tip because she wasn’t attentive with us. Then she kept collecting our payments but wouldn’t stop telling him from the other side of the table things like “Do you think I’m here to serve you for free? ” It was insane. By the time she reached me, I had decided not to leave a tip either.
Location: On Notre-Dame West, not too far from Lionel-Groulx metro. You'll find street parking on Notre-Dame but it's metered (past 9 p.m. Is free) or free parking on some of the residential streets. Check the zoning.
The place: I got the local bar feel when I walked in: super cozy and casual, with a fairly open layout (meaning that you don't feel like a sardine). Warm ambiance and laidback vibe. I like it.
The goods: I ordered Le Mur à Mures and it was DEE-LICIOUS! My date ordered an Old-fashion with some high-end whiskey or whatever one uses to make Old-fashions. He thoroughly enjoyed his drink and promptly ordered a 2nd. I really don't think you can go wrong with cocktails here. If I wasn't driving, I would've had a 2nd, too!
Service: Great - we were greeted when we walked in and our waitress was really friendly.
Price point: I let the beardo pick up the tab - I think it came out to about $40 for 3 drinks.
I had a lobster/shrimp roll with coleslaw, my partner has the same but fried as side. There is hardly any lobster, only very small shrimps, my coleslaw is too spicy, not eatables, how can they charge $19, before tax, for a bun with few shrimps! The waffle on appetizer is dry n burnt.
Lovely views and great drinks. Thoroughly enjoyed the sunlight and the brilliant view of the river in Montreal. A must see for anyone visiting the city.
Fun place with a good selection of hard liquor, although they don't have all that many different options. Each time I've been here the music has been too loud and the staff has been swamped. Service was courteous but irregular since the waitresses seem over worked.
I was a little upset their kitchen was closed due to renovation.my friend had picked the place and reserved for her birthday buf wasnt warned about the kitchen close. We were offered peanuts and chips but that wasnt enough since it was dinner time. We would have appreciated forward notice. Nonetheless, the drinks were good, service was a little slow but it was busy.
A great place to go when the Burgundy Lion is full.: D
They have a good selection of beers and other alcohol. The food choices are not as diverse (it's good for snacks with your drink rather than a full meal) but the food they do have is really good.
Normal drinks way too overpriced. With prices like these, you'd expect speciality drinks that have a cool special touch, but no. Everything is overpriced and for no reason. The alcohol they serve is cheap and they charge 8-9$ a shot. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the staff is nice and the service is pretty good.
Meh.nothing special. Ambiance is like any other modern bar. Service is meh, we sat at the bar and the barmaid wasn't friendly, not mean but not friendly. She seemed friendly with other patrons. Maybe regulars? But my wife and I didn't get friendly service at all.
I asked for the special in Thursday as i didn't quite understand the blackboard. She tell me the happy hour one but not the food special.
Wife ordered the veggy dog, it's meh. It's a roasted carrot in a hotdog bread.this is like 8$! Lol it's laughable. Although to their defense is does some with a small bowl of nuts.
I had the smoked meat, food is obviously not their strong point. The meat was very fatty, I mean chunks of in rendered fat.
The hummus was good but it's hummus, pretty hard to mess up really.
All in all I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend it. So many other options in Montreal you don't need to go here, nothing terrible but not worth it either.
Breathable atmosphere. Surface was solid. Good balance of hydrogen and helium. Did see patterns of old river beds. Will visit this sector again. And Nicholas was the best.
