J’ai acheté un gâteau mille feuilles au comptoir. Le gâteau avait passé quelques jours dans la vitrine et n’était plus frais. Il m’a quand même été vendu au plein prix. Nous nous sommes rendu compte du problème au moment de le servir. Très décevant

Excellent food. Menu is extensive and seasonal to a particularly high standard. Definitely fine dining. Even the waitress Clara was amazing

Excellent service de la part de tout le personnel! J'ai particulièrement aimé le tiramisu, c'était un vrai délice. Yuliya a offert un acceuil bien chaleureux à ma fille et moi en s'assurant que tout nos besoins soient respectés. Je reviendrais certainement!

Je suis allé l'autre jour pour avoir un goût de la France, la nourriture est bonne mais cher, j'ai été servi par 2 filles sympas Rosalie et Reem qui étaient superbes. Je reviendrai sûrement.

I don’t know where to start, I really thought we are going to a great French place. Service was horrible, so bad, probably one of the worse we have experienced. The server was rude. After 30 min of taking the order they discovered that they did not have “ avocado toast”, pancakes were burned (they ended up taking off 40% of the price but it doesn’t make up to any of the bad quality and service and let me tell you it is a 38 $ pancakes so I expected the best pancakes ever) and omelettes were less than ok. Coffee is ok that… my initial plan was to buy pastries to go but honestly the hole experience was so bad that I just wanted to be out.

This iconic place in Montreal never goes out of style à la française! The atmosphere which has been newly renovated, has also retained it’s authentic European charm, while offering up only the finest of delectable desserts, and fancy French food as well. The service was top notch, and many thanks go out to Samuel & Frank for helping make our experience such a wonderful & memorable one. Professional, polite, courteous, and fun would be the best way to describe them!

A little piece of Paris in North America! Wonderful ambience whether indoors or on their beautiful patios. Food and pastries are delectable; well worth the price with a lot of thought put into details. Service is kind and attentive; I was with a party of 5 and we were really well looked after. I cannot wait to go back.

This place is always a good option! If you want to have breakfast, dinner or just a coffee… you’ll receive an excellent service and quality. Some dishes are very basic and pricey for what they are, but the flavours are always very good. It’s has its own style and it’s very nice to be there specially during summer when the terrace is open! Cozy, classy, elegant… hidden gem! The waiters and manager will always make sure you have everything you need to be comfortable.

Special shoutout to our amazing server Sam, who made our visit truly memorable. The culinary skills of Chefs Enok and Mariana brought out the best in every dish, and the presentation by Sarah and Marion added a touch of elegance. And let's not forget Frank, the efficient busboy who kept everything running smoothly.

Pastries to die for and good coffee. We did not have a sandwich but saw them and they are quite substantial, enough for two people. It is pricey though

It was really good! I had the lobster egg benedict and it was really good! Great portion! The only reason I’m not giving it a 5 star, there was a lot but a lot of fruit flies and it really became annoying. Trying to eat in peace was a struggle.

Le cadre est correct j’y vais souvent mais c’est cher pour rien par exemple 6 huîtres à 23$ puis c’était mal ouvert j’avais plein de coquilles dans la bouche, la salade césar le poulet est sec je préférai l’époque des moules frites.

This place was known for it's cute vibe and delicious food. Since I live in the area, I have tried a lot of their stuff. Unfortunately after COVID, things have dramatically changed. Went for Lunch and their french onion soup was very disappointing; it lacked seasoning and they definitely cheaped out on the onion ie there was barely any onion in that soup. Not to mentiom, I ordered salad that day and it was very stale. On another instance, I passed by and grabbed croissants. Basic stuff that any patisserie can make.right. No, while their regular ones were very good, the cheese ones seemed to be made the day before. They were hard as a rock. On a 3rd instance, I made a purchase of some pasteries and again I was disappointed. I wouldn't advise you to visit this place especially at their prices.

Prennent énormément de temps pour préparer la commande, très cher rapport qualité/prix, pas très propre et service minable.

Years ago I mean 20+ years ago this place was amazing. The quality was worth paying for. Just bought a whole lot of stuff fr there: croissants (might as well be Metro grocery croissants), 4 amazing looking pastries ($8 a piece) that weren't worth $2 and then the baguette was like a oversized breadstick. Will never go back. Such a shame. Forced to give a 1-star rating to get this published

I loved coming here few years ago. I gave it 5 stars and came every single weekend. It's really disappointing how bad it became. Food quality is as low as any regular north american breakfast resaurant. Extremely overpriced for what it is. One shouldn't pay more than $15 for this "food". Even pastry is not better than première moisson and it costs twice the price. Very disappointing. Of course I'm never coming back again.

Pricy but worth eating with love ones and close friends. It reminds me of the bistros in paris. The tuxedo cake and almond croissant is to die for

Friendly, great pastries. Authentic France feeling. As if we had arrived at a French bistro by teleportation.

Nice location, went for a brunch. Unfortunately, 2 out of 4 meals had to be sent back; one was the wrong order and the other meal was requested with no bread, yet they served the meal with a toast on top. Nothing "wow" about the dishes themselves and super expensive. Everything seems overpriced. However, the view was nice, the staff was nice and they have a lot of meal options.

Excellent brunch spot or lunch on weekends for example and they welcome dogs. Prices are high but you get the quantity you paid for! Crepes with fruits and avocado toasts were delicious. They also have pastries and a lot of French products in general.

Un très bon endroit, tres bon acceuil, meilleur gâteaux. Le prix est cher mais bon qualité. J'espère qu'ils auront une filière à Laval.

Ridiculously overpriced. I live in Montreal and can get the same almond chocolate croissant, just as good, for half the price. The dark hot chocolate was alright, but nothing special and definitely not worth $6.50. One latte, one regular hot chocolate and one pastry and we were out $26.

Super pâtisseries. Gâteaux bien présentés, si vous chercher une pâtisserie à la française le duc est l’endroit idéal. Pâtisserie conviviale, les prix sont un peu élevés mais bon le plaisir n’a pas de prix! J’ai réserver à l’avance pour les gâteaux et j’ai pu payer par interact, vraiment un système bien rodé. Je recommande pour tous les petits et grand gourmand!

Franchement décevant! C’était ma première visite…et assurément ma dernière. Nous étions quatre pour le lunch et personne n’a apprécié son repas, sans parler des prix exorbitants! Se vanter d’être la plus vieille pâtisserie de Montréal n’est certainement pas gage de qualité. À proscrire; il y a tellement de vrais bons restos à Montréal!

Nous achetions nos croissants ici, les meilleurs de Montréal, dans les années 80. Nous sommes revenus récemment et sommes très déçus ; les gâteaux et viennoiseries sont ordinaires mais les prix extraordinairement chers.

J’ai acheté aujourd’hui, un fraisier et un paris-brest. Le gâteau n’est pas bon et j’ai l’impression que ça fait très long temps qu’il a été préparé. Je regrette mon achat surtout que c’est assez dispendieux.

Très cher pour la qualité médiocre qu’ils offrent. Si je paie un gâteau 9$ je m’attends à ce qu’il soit fait du jour. Idem pour les croissants secs et sans saveur. Service exécrable aussi. Le comble- ils se trompent 2 fois dans notre facture- nous chargeant quasi le double de notre commande.

Quelle arnaque. 26$ + taxes + pourboire pour une omelette qui n'a absolument rien d'exceptionnel. Quant aux pâtisseries, elles ne me semblent pas toutes du jour même. Il ne suffit pas de planter un drapeau français sur le fronton et de diffuser de la chanson française pour faire un restaurant de qualité française. À fuir.

Très belle place avec un service haut de game.j’ai été avec ma femme, l’accueil.le service étaient excellents.le prix par contre est un peu cher.mieux se renseigner sur les prix avant de commander.

En fait on a soupé dans votre restaurant. C'était à l'occasion de l'anniversaire de ma fille.j'étais vraiment déçue pour cette expérience.les prix des plats sont très élevés rapport qualité prix!
Le goût C'était fade et ça ne rassemble absolument pas à la gastronomie française!
Il nous ont servi le gâteau avant de débarrasser le couvert du souper! Aucune finesse!

Nous pensions avoir une belle rencontre entre sœurs…. Une invitation ……tout pour être sur le charme de la terrasse mais très décevant…la nourriture …. Les prix sont très exagérés…pour ce que nous avions à manger.les crêpes très très peu cuites…. Ouf très très peu de fruits…petite assiette … aucun sirop. 28$ ….

We had an excellent Sunday brunch today. The food was delicious and our waiter (Roman) was incredibly kind and attentive. He even brought our dog a water dish and a dog biscuit. Watch out for naughty squirrels if you sit outside.

Like a quick trip to Paris! Great coffee, and even better service. I was so impressed when the waiter came by and jokingly said, "take for two". He then quickly returned with water and dog treats.

Service pitoyable, l'attente pour le service est aussi rapide qu'une tortue. Le serveur ne connaît pas son menu et ce que nous recevons est totalement différent de sa description. Le serveur à voulu rattraper son erreur mais l'attente était tellement longue que j'ai eu le temps de finir mon repas sans qu'il arrive avec ce qu'il a promis.
ET JE VOUS ÉPARGNE LE RESTE.perso c'est une place à banir si vous avez envie d'un minimum de service. La 1 étoile est pour la bonne nourriture.au moins il y avait ça! Bonne chance aux aventuriers.

Their pastries look amazing, but they taste pretty average which is disappointing for the price. I prefer to go just North to the other pastry shops around to get pastries that actually tastes amazing for cheaper. Edit: Chaque fois que j'y vais le prix devient de plus en plus ahurissant et les patisseries sont toujours très décevantes en terme de gout. J'espère que je ne ferais plus l'erreur de leur donner encore une chance de plus.

Bought a Mille feuille to go and it was bar none the best I’ve had. I also got a croissant and amandine, not pictured because I ate them before I got home, and they were both excellent, definitely going to need to go back!

Le service est très long, la nourriture n’est pas à la hauteur de ses promesses, quant à l’attitude du gérant est tout simplement à vomir.

Food was absolutely delicious but the man that served us was awful. We waited for water, then got our food before our drinks, was charged almost 6$ for a can of sprite. He kept walking past our table and never asked how it was, if we needed anything. I was done with my plate so he took my friends as well even though she wasn't done. Tried to tell him but he hopped over the edge into the room. Water was not cold either. I did not tip him and he said "where are you from where they don't tip? ". I don't tip if they didn't do a good job and he was angry. My friend did not tip either. Wanted to look inside at all the baked goods but he ruined our experience. Won't be back.

Horrible Horrible experience i had with my friend.
Went there for brunch, took an omelette with a latte. Paid 45$ in the end (pretty expensive) and the food was HORRIBLE (yes horrible).
Especially for that price, i would expect the food to be great or at least acceptable, but no. The potatoes were barely edible, i had half a strawberry in my plate.
The only good things are the service and the view, but it is WAYYY overpriced for what they have to offer. Really sad to see their food quality hit a new low.

We expected an amazing dinner with amazing deserts. We have a lactose intolerant eater with fish allergies, asked for a classic burger with no cheese, chef REFUSED TO MAKE ADJUSTEMENTS. THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE this patron could eat and they still refused. And didn't tell us but still brought out our other two meals. This was incredible, asking for no cheese slices on a hamburger (not a cheeseburger) should have been a simple fix. Also the risooto was not mixed properly and had undercooked rice. Not going back.

Paris-brest correct mais pas le goût d'un "vrai", macarons bon mais qui ne se tiennent pas du tout, et gâteau à 50$ qui goûte juste le sucre et le gras. Vraiment déçue de la qualité par rapport au prix. On est certain de ne jamais y retourner au moins. C'est d'autant plus dommage que le visuel des pâtisseries et le service sont de qualité.

At 7: 20 am on Sunday, I stopped at the Duc to take a look at their menu, since it was the only restaurant that was open on my way home from a visit to the emergency room for a pregnancy complication. It took me a while to read the menu since I am a beginner in French. A waitress asked if I wanted to sit down and look at the menu in French and then in English, and I said I want to look at the menu first. Since they have removed the menu that used to be on the wall, I was looking at the pile of menus they have ready for their patrons for the day.

Sometime later, the manager came over to ask me if I want to sit down in French, and I said I want to look at the menu first in English. When I turned the page to see if there was anything of interest on the second page, he took the menu I was looking at and put it two meters from my face, and said do you want to sit down and look at the menu. I said no, I want to look at the menu first, and he said here, you can look at it over here, moving the menu further away from me. It reminded me of dangling a carrot on a string with a stick in front of a horse to get it to move. It is common practice in North America to allow customers to take a look at the menu before they decide whether they want to eat there. I was not impressed with being pressured to sit down at a table and being treated rudely, I left.

After grabbing breakfast elsewhere, I decided to go back and tell their manager that I felt they were rude to me. I wanted to give them a chance to apologize, in case that was not their intention, or to find out the reason behind their disinterest in my business. Did I violate a dress code for the restaurant or was there a Covid protocol I was unaware of? When I spoke with the manager this second time, he just said, if you aren’t sitting down then get out of my business. It is 7 am, I can’t deal with you. We are setting up. Their posted business hour for this day is 6: 30 am. There was only one other customer in the patisserie buying take out at the time. I am not sure why he did not have time to speak with me.

After a short interlude in their patisserie, he asked me to take this matter outside. When I walked outside, and tried to continue this discourse, he threatened to (and purportedly) called the police claiming that I was being aggressive. I never got physical, I never threatened violence, and I never screamed or yelled. I merely asked why I was being treated rudely, and if I can speak with their owner.

I have had good service there when I was there with my white boyfriend. I wanted to know what in my appearance today led to such poor treatment. Was it my ethnicity? Was it because I can’t read French fast enough? Was it because I was dressed casually for an emergency room visit at 3: 30 am this morning? The manager himself was wearing a white quick dry sports shirt with grey sweat pants. Was it because I am noticeably pregnant? Was it because being pregnant and hungry makes it harder for me to decide on what I want to eat? Should I only go to their restaurant when I am not hungry?

Whatever the reason, I have much higher expectation for a restaurant that serves a $32+ eggs benedict for breakfast. I expect them to politely tell me I am not a welcomed customer if that was the case, and not rudely dangle the menu like a carrot on a stick.

Endroit sympatique, belle terrasse. Belle musique française. Le seul bemol etait pour moi les serveurs et serveuses. Pour une table nous avons eu 3 personnes différentes qui venaient juste a notre table la regarder et partir plusieurs fois en 1h.c'etait très désagréable. Essayer de débarrasser la table une seule fois svp et ne revenez pas voir la table 20x en une heure. Voila pourquoi j ai enlevé une étoile.

Two days ago I bought 2 croissants and a small loaf of chalah bread they had. The croissants here taste like ones you would buy in a supermarket and not near to other great bakeries around town in which I shop at regularly. The bread was ok but nothing special. My bill was an outrageous $ 16.80. I just have 2 words to say. NEVER AGAIN" M. Brown
