Food was hot and tasted great. The drinks came fast and service was friendly. Great spot to check out after the hockey game.

Ordered the Rueben and upgraded the fries to poutine. The corned beef was so delicious. Poutine was also good. The coleslaw was very tasty and loved that it didn’t have mayo in it.

Classic Montreal smoked meat. Consistently a good choice anytime of day! Open 24 hours, with good service and yummy pickles on the side!

Busy spot with very helpful staff. Hard to get a spot during peak hours, the smoked meat was amazing and poutine was ok!

You can’t go wrong. One of the classic landmarks in Montreal food. Whether for a quick bite or a late night meal, Dunn’s always delivers. Don’t both with anything else but the smoked meat. Other stuff might be good, but the smoked meat is the highlight. Oh, and order a black cherry pop.

I always make it a priority to step into this Dunns when I'm here. Didn't call ahead, just asked for a smoked meat sandwich to go. In and out in five minutes, despite a full house. Amazing staff, service, and atmosphere.

The interior might not be the most exciting, but this place certainly shines in the food department. Their poutine is a standout, easily one of the best you've had. The Montreal smoked meat is also impressive and can hold its own against renowned spots like Schwartz's. While the portion sizes for poutine might be substantial and come with a $20 price tag, it's a splurge that's worth it, especially when shared between two people. So, if you're looking for classic bar vibes and exceptional poutine, this spot seems like a great choice.

Unreal smoked meat. Had the Rueben on back to back nights during my last stay in Montreal. Will be back for it again. Love that the downtown location is open so late and the portions are very generous.

First restaurant we visited in Montreal, because our flight landed after mid-night, we were surprised that they are still open, and let us dine in. Overall not bad, but nothing to wow us neither. Food is average, vibe is ok, little bit overpriced, but they open late.

My husband and I head to Montreal for Pride every year. We are always out until 3 or 4 in the morning, and we always go to Dunn's afterwards. Even late at night, or early in the morning depending on how you look at at, the service is excellent and the food is even better. I recommend the gigantic triple decker BLT

Always a joy to eat at this Montreal institution. Quick and delicious. Only downfall is the bar was limited so many cocktails not available

We were just here eating, some random drunk guy came up to out table and touched our food! Litterally ate the fries and eat it - he said its a dare! Now tell me if thats fair that the server asked us to pay after some random people just touched our meal? - “his vaccinated so? And drunk so? Does that justify someone to go arround and touches someone elses meal for a dare? What would you do if that happened to you? Server - “his drunk”, SO? Does that make it ok? On top of it we paid our own meal - half touch by the way - after someone picked on it! DISGUSTING! I would like the survalance video cam to be release so everyone can see what this person did! So i guess checking vaccination card is useless in this restaurant if they will let someone touch your food and charge you after! Never again!

Food was okay but place lacked in ambience. Decor was appropriate but the background music was a poor choice (rap music) for the clientele.
Went on the recommendation of a friend who once lived in Montreal. Probably won't go back as was expecting it to be a little more nostalgic.

It's a neverending debate as to who has the best Montréal smoked meet in this awesome city, but one thing is for sure. Dunn's is definitively one of the top three.

Extremely tasty drunk food for a couple of hungry tourists from Ontario. Though the pastrami wasn't as good as shwartz, it was still very good and the poutine was delicious.

Un couple d'amis Français, fraichement arrivés au Québec, sont allés mangés chez Dunn's. Ils se sont fait accueillir et servir uniquement en anglais. C'est complètement inacceptable. La langue officielle au Québec est le français. Point. Malgré 300 ans de résistance et une certaine paix linguistique récente, il semble que rien n'est acquis. Il faut encore se battre pour se faire respecter. C'est désolant et révoltant. Svp, faites-vous respecter et n'acceptez pas de telle situation. Allez manger ailleurs où l'on vous respectera.

After a movie we needed something to eat and the large neon sign for Dunn's beckoned. The service was fine, and we were soon seated with drinks in front of us. We both had the assiette, which included the excellent smoked meat, together with some fries (nothing special), rye bread (out of a bag), half a pickle (out of a jar) and some really good coleslaw. My pickle escaped somehow and was replaced quickly with no questions asked. Anyway, it fitted the mood for a rainy evening downtown after a movie. Would I come back? Yes, probably!

This was a must-do list item for me when I came to Montreal on this trip. We went in as a group of 4 and were seated very quickly. The service was very fast, and the food was great. I ordered the Petit Combo which was a smaller smoked meat sandwich with Cole-slaw, fries, and a pickle.the food was great and was exactly what I had expected.
A very fair price for a fast meal that was really good and in a great atmosphere.
They followed all the COVID-19 protocols.

J'ai comandé une poutine en terace un jour de mauvais temps haha autant vous dire que je ne m'attendais a pas grand chose. Malgre cela la plupart de serveurs ont ete tres agreable, je ne recommande pas la poutine mais l'etablissement haha. Bonne continuation

Trop long. Trop cher. Mais surtout très mauvais service. En plus, la viande et le pain étaient vraiment très sec. Très décevant ️

My Spouse and I went to Dunn's for lunch. I had the Burger with fries and he had the Thai Chicken salad. The portions were huge and the food was excellent. Kathleen, our Waitress was very fast and pleasant, always "going the extra mile". Sanitizers were plentiful and there was plexiglass between all the tables. My burger was made to perfection. Jules the Cook, made my Burger exactly the way I wanted it. Our food arrived very quickly. Prices were good for the large amount of food that we received.

Service pitoyable, attente de 20 Minutes pour une poutine, clients entrent après moi servis avant moi, j'ai beau interpellé la serveuse à la caisse, elle fai semblant de ne pas m'entendre pour finalement me dire que ça sert à rien de l'appeler, je ne serais pas servi plus vite, j'ai demandé à remboursé, la serveuse à refusé, tout cela après avoir commandé en même temps q'un amis et finalement être servi 15 minutes après celui ci.c'est peut-être parce que j'ai parlé en français. Pour moi Dunn c'est terminé. En passant, Poutine à la québécoise très moyenne.

Terrible service. We arrived at the restaurant and tried to get the table at around 7: 30pm. The waiter/host (caucacian man) said “no more table. We cannot take anymore people. ’ So I asked if we should give him our name and wait or come back. He was hesitant to answer. I asked again. He then said ‘if you want to. ’ I can see the restaurant was full but I was willing to wait. He looked stressed out and exhausted. But he shouldnt treat customers like that. He made us feel he didn't need customers. My conclusion was the waiter/host was either overworked and didnt want more customers or he was just being a racist. It was a big disappointment afterall they were recommeded by our hotel. We went to Schwartz's Deli - Sandwiches instead and they Great service and great smoked meat. Try Schwartz’s and you wont be disappointed.

The service here is legit the worst. I waited for like 10 minutes for someone to come to the front so I could ask to be seated. She dumped me at the table and walked away without a word, like I had greatly inconvenienced her. I waited another 10 minutes for anyone to come to my table and ask for my order. A guy came and dropped off forks and when I tried to give him my order he just said "I'm not the one you're dealing with" and walked away. Never did meet " the one" as he did not ever come to the table, so I left. Just go to Schwartz's, I've yet to head there and wind up leaving without a sandwich. Dunns wasn't even busy, most of the booths were empty, I guess their staff are just garbage at their jobs.

The food is nothing like the one in Laval on Saint Martin. The quality is different, my last experience was very mediocre. It’s a hit or miss depending when you go

They had decent portions and the food is very delicious. Good selection of drinks and very good service. The smoked meat is not overly salty but I think could do with a little bit more spice.

Overall would go again, although my personal favourite thus far is still Ruben, as they provide a bigger portion of meat and buns, and is also slightly better spiced. That’s said, don’t count this place out! The petit combo is a very good portion size.

Come on an empty stomach and get the Reuben. At Dunn's you either go all in, or go home. The brisket is tender, the coleslaw is just the right mix of sweet and tart, the pickle is crunchy, the fries are good. The door is open for wayward sons and daughters until 5: 00 AM.

Be nice to the waiters. They're only two guys to the whole place, and they've got their hands full.

And pray that you do not need to use the washroom - unless you like to dine wearing a HAZMAT suit.

Had issues ordering online for take out and was told they had technical problems with their POS. Was able to dine in and the manager Jimmy took care of us.

Dunn's is a Montreal landmark when it comes smoked meat and late night deli eats! I had this absolutely delicious smoked meat platter at 1AM when I recently visited from Toronto. It was my 1st time actually eating in a restaurant in 2021 and let's just say, I wasn't disappointed

If you don't know it. When in Montreal you must eat here. If you don't, you are a loser. High quality, great service, Nostalgia plus. Do I have to say it. Smoked meat sandwich.

Nice food and environment, got a sense that staff were overworked and unorganized. For instance got the plate of food and aftar that took minutes for utensils, then a while for drinks

Great place. Comfy booths. They are open for dine in with plastic barriers set up between tables. Smoked meat sandwich is a must. Dunn's poutine comes loaded with smoked meat. My favorite was the smoked meat egg rolls!

Great classic smoked meat in a traditional setting. Sides are also good, fries, slaw, and funky fermented dill pickles. I guess there are other items on the menu as well, but really, you should be there for smoked meat.

Can't beat Dunn's for smoked meat! Restaurant decor is typical deli style, food comes fast. Check it out if you're downtown!

Good smoked meat sandwich at a reasonable value too. Most other smoked meat places don’t offer decent combos. I got a smoked meat sandwich, fries, salad with pickle on side and a drink for under $15. They weren’t skimpy with the meat either.

This place is an institution, so you gotta give it cred for longevity alone. Also open 24h, so that's always a nice feature. Aside from that, some items are pretty good, and some are just basic run of the mill. But it's definitely an option to keep in mind if you can't make up your mind when downtown.

Had breakfast. Coffee was horrible (and cold) and the hash browns were over-cooked. The rest was quite good and the waitress was nice. Hoping that this was just a one-time thing.

Open 24 hours. Nice dinner. Long island iced tea was good. Chicken fingers were good, fries were not. Chocolate milkshake tasted like liquid cookie. Service was good. Ok experience overall.

A must visit for me every time I'm in Montreal. Staff go the extra mile to make your experience enjoyable. From extra whip cream and cherries on my daughter's sundae to help with the metro. Wonderful people serving delicious food!

A convenient place to meet up for breakfast.unfortunately the meal was less than stellar. Potatoes for sure had been under heat lamps for too long and a more generous serving of meat would have been nice.

My family and I stopped here for a trip since there wasn't a huge wait line like the other restaurants around. I had a conversation with my friend who lived in Montreal for years and usually if the menu had cheap smoked meat, you are paying for canned smoked meat. One of the places he recommended in Montreal that had authentic smoked meat was Dunn's Famous. It was definitely a good recommendation and definitely a place to try if you are ever in the area. The waiter was extremely nice and knew we were Anglophones but treated us like customers. He even asked us where we were heading for our trip and gave us recommendations for places to visit. Overall a great experience.

I've been to this restaurant many times, in order to have a good idea of what this restaurant is.

I've ordered many items, the food is good, it's like a homemade meal! Bad idea to pick breakfast items, you're better off with a poutine (eating breakfast poutines are accepted here afaik).

Personal favourite, the Alfredo pasta.

Desserts-wise: a few classics (Volcano, sundae, cheesecake, etc.) And it's good!

Place/Ambiance: the manager was really nice to me, he was friendly, big bonus points! Bathrooms are ALWAYS clean, and it's rare to meet that in Montreal.

Famous for the smoked meat, but other items on the menu is very good too. What's great is this place is open 24/7. But if you do go to Dunn's you have to get the smoked meat sandwich and the Montreal classic poutine.

There were 2 waiters for almost the whole restaurant which was almost full (about midnight) and the food came out hot and delicious and in a reasonable amount of time. Very proud to have this restaurant in Montreal.
Maybe they could smile more, but with how much work they had, I don't think I could've smiled much!

Delicious smoked beef platter. Meat was beautifully seasoned. Medium meat was more like lean corned beef in the states. All of their sides, pickles, coleslaw, & latke had unique seasoning. Maybe Romanian style? Two can share the platter & you can replace the fries with a delicious latke for just $1. If you're game, finish off your meal with their mini desserts. The cheesecake is more like ricotta not Cream cheese as in NY. Much lighter. The carrot cake cheese cake is amazing. We also fell in love with the Apple crisp which was not too sweet & it was loaded with crisp apple slices.

Even if crowded for lunch, service is still quick. Menu is good, prices are fair and the place is really clean. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the washrooms. The general Tao poutine was good but the sauce was way too salty. Still giving a 5 because I should have taken their speciality smoked meat.
