I have been going to Ecollegey since they moved onto Monkland ave. First and foremost, the fresh produce quality and the general product quality is far superior to any other grocery stores I have frequented in Montréal. Deva and Jeff have high standards and do not compromise when it comes to produce for their store and customers. Always greeted with a smile and very personable service. They seem to all work very hard in keeping the caliber of product/service at its best. I have consistently found their produce to be always fresh and in the rare, rare event unbeknownst to them something isn't quite right they are happy to accommodate you- no questions asked. For me, it ends up being a one- stop shop for all my needs. Thank you Jeff and Deva for such service, quality and giving back to the community in the way you do. I value your hard work and toil. Everyone should run to shop at Ecollegey!

I love this store. It’s always a pleasure to shop here. The variety is great. Always beautiful stuff seasonally and the quality can be assured! There are occasions where I find myself wishing for something that’s not on the shelf and if it is possible they will order it for you. I find the prices to be very fair as well. Often less expensive than the organic section at the regular grocery stores! Thanks!

Sad that the owners are asking people to write positive reviews following the truth coming to light. You cannot hide behind a "good concept' or "fresh food". The unfortunate part is, given the consistent arrogant and abusive behaviour of the owners, I doubt they will ever take actual accountability. All I can say is that the right thing to do is to take own up and learn from your mistakes. Given that this store is part of the wellness community, I have to point out that these owners and the way the treat their staff like the dirt on their shoe is the least "love and light" thing possible.

I am forever happy, satisfied and greatful Eccology is in Montreal. The best products for this mother of six who's main concern is safe quality food for her family. Eccology is a gem fruits and vegetables consistently fresh crisp and juicy

Fresh organic produce is hard to find in Montreal. Ever since I discovered this little place on Monkland I've been coming back for more. Their salmon is out of this world always fresh poultry and fruits and vegetables what more could you ask for.

Ecollegey does have many great products, especially ones that I haven't been able to find anywhere else in Montreal (I've lived here for over 10 years).
And the female owner (Deva) does care a huge amount about her products and her store.

However - I have known many people who have worked there over the last three years (cashiers, home delivery and stock handlers) who talk about how abusive the owners are (to their staff and each other quite frankly). It can no longer be pushed aside as hearsay.
I have also known many people who shopped there and who would be appalled at how Deva would speak to them over the phone, by email and in person. I have been in line when Deva has yelled at a cashier for making a basic mistake only to have the cashier yell back and say something like stop talking to me like that. I was shocked, especially when the owner just walked away. And even more shocked when the customer in line asked the employee if she was OK and that she too had had terrible experiences with Deva.

I have also heard Deva make many excuses for why she gets bad reviews or "hate", saying that people can't handle criticism, that this is just who she is, that people don't understand (or like) the naturally more blunt way some Israeli women talk to people. While maybe some of it is true.to have over 15 people quit out of animosity in the last two years (not including those who simply relocated or found jobs that were of more interest), deserves a second look at your behaviour.

I do not recommend anyone shop here for the time being. I believe the store needs to close for a while until the management can actually take a hard look at what they've been doing wrong.

I have been a customer at Ecollegey for about 15 years. Being raised in a family fish business, I knew finding sustainably sourced food was tricky. Especially 15 years ago! When my daughter was born I was determined to find the Freshest organic foods for us. Deva and Jeff were on Wilson when I walked in their store for the first time. Finally a store where I TRUST the people! The best quality and …they value what I value️
They purchase their products from ethical companies and from people they trust.
I do not think that there is another food store that has 100% traceability.
I Love the way the store is kept, notice the respect for the environment and I feel so happy shopping there. It’s actually relaxing.

I Love their homemade products too.
Having a kitchen on site for delicious ready to eat products is very hard!
I appreciate that they always maintain high standards.

Having worked in the food industry my whole life, I can say that Ecollegey is the best food store hands down.

Following up with the other reviews, I wanted to affirm that I personally know several people who were abused and treated like human trash by the owners of this place. Ironic, isn't it? A store that claims to be a small family business with a focus on community and wellness.the way you have treated my friends is appalling, Society is evolving past the need to accept work from verbally and psychologically abusive employers, so good luck moving forward with your current attitude as a business. To whoever reads this, if you have any respect at all for preventing workplace abuse you will shop elsewhere, as to not place money in the pockets of fundamentally terrible human beings. Fleure Sauvage and A Votre Sante are within close proximity ;).

If I'd be able to give 0 star, I would. I looked into grocery delivery for convenience. Since we eat only organic, I decided to place an order at ecollegey. I was horrified to say the least. The basil was wilted and wet. The eggplants were brown and inedible. I thought maybe it was a fluke and placed a second order the following week. Same thing. The owner is an absolute nightmare and has the biggest attitude. If you're thinking of placing an order for delivery, don't. You're welcome.

The people working here are wonderful! Great food and awesome selection of fruit, vegetables and organic food!

Ecollegey has an incredible selection of organic products and produce! The layout is very nice. The staff are quite friendly and helpful. It's a pleasure to shop there!

After reading the abusive behaviour of the owner towards the employees, I won't go there anymore.

I shop here often and have never had anything other than positive experiences. The products are all quality and the real deal. The owner and staff are also experts as far as diet and nutrition. I recommend highly.

My favourite healthy foods shop in Montreal. Many great products and the freshest bio fruit and veggies I have seen, and all in a clean and well organized environment. I have learned much nutritional info from the owner Deva.

Another past employee here.was given some courage from Elisabeth's honest testimony about the abuse going on at this store. The products sold may help the well-being of the customers, but the owners detrimentally harm the well-being of their staff. Many of us struggle severely during, and after, working at Ecollegey. Though people have been saying it for years, I really hope that no one else is harmed by this abusive environment. Sending love to the staff. Happy holidays and stay safe.

Very wonderful staff, however this place is a revolving door for employees with good reason. While this store model is everything our world needs, the owner is hands down abusive to her staff. And Deva, I don't care for hearing your response to say " we are a family here and while its hard we figure it out", because if my family treated me like that as an excuse to continue to be abusive they're no family at all. I write this as a warning to people who might want to work here, and as a testimony to how you negatively impacted my path hearing about how you haven't changed yet. Working here harmed my emotional health as a struggling student, gave me eye twitches on both eyes, and really hurt my GPA as I started school. I started a farm on my own and yet I could not survive Deva. To Ecollegey, please learn how to treat people, they will be loyal to you if you treat them with BASIC respect and dignity. Wide choice of products, the vegetables and fruits are the best quality you can find in MTL, and by far better than other. Super friendly and helpful staff.

Great quality on all their products and the staff is amazing. I am very happy to have them in my neighborhood.

Ordered a variety basket of fruits & veg. Selection and quality was very good, and shelf life was excellent. The hummus, in particular, was delicious. Fast, pleasant contactless delivery. Happy to support a local small business.

I was asking for information from an employee when this completely hot-headed, over-bearing, presumably the manager, came after overhearing the conversation and disrespected the young employee by berating her for not being good enough, sending her away, apologizing to me on her behalf and then telling me what I would describe as more of a sales pitch than the actual questions that young lady was adequately helping me with. There are a few other locations to pick from in walking distance and I think I will go to those from now on.

Great location and enjoyed shopping here when was in the neighbourhood for fresh and organic produce.

More and more places have organic food.as a consumer who tries to eat healthily, organic food is a likely choice but there is no guarantee that I would believe that the soil is perfect or the growing enhancement products are totally safe or they are that they use in the space where they grow is necessarily any better. But generally speaking I would prefer to choose organic if it's close to the same price than non-organic. Major grocery chain stores have organic sections although they're small and some food outlets are going totally organic as what they are. This is one of those. And you're if you're looking for one of those then here it is.

My wife and I are frequent shoppers at Ecology. The produce and selection of organic products is above par. Keep it up Ecology.

I found the place is very pricy. Maybe I not belong to such level of customers. I bought all the milk from their store during my pregnancy and sometimes eggs.they always ask me for the name and give me a small piece of paper but I never bothered to say my name coz I know I will not buy any grocery from them.

Love this little shop. They have a good selection of items and sell some house made goodies and meals. The kombucha taps are great. I definitely recommend stopping in. You can find a little bit of everything from produce and local meats to cleaning supplies.

EcollegeY is literally my go to "happy store"! When I'm hungry, tired, joyful, anxious and/or needing to grocery shop I go to EcollegeY. It feels like a treat, something akin to going to a play or concert! The produce and dry goods are fresh and whole, homemade spreads and dips delicious, the staff superb, the ambience warm and the physical space is pretty! I'm grateful to have EcollegeY in my hood.

I have shopped twice at this store, today was my third and, frankly, would be my last. Not only are their products pricey compared to competition but also some of their staff (cashier) are rude, haughty, grumpy, and clueless to the store’s marketing, promotional, and customer experience strategies. On my second purchase, I got a coupon for which no one bothered to explain to me how it is to be used. I got rudely handed over by one cashier to another to explain the store’s coupon policy. Moreover, upon my startled inquiry to the same former cashier as to why the store’s client database contains some customers’ details but not others’ (such as myself being a new customer), I received a smug and cynical retort from the cashier as to what category of customer I would like to be. Given the sub-par and flimsy customer experience this store offers its new customers, I unequivocally am NOT eager to be a client of this store. This store urgently needs to take a page out of Amazon’s book to learn about the basics of customer experience and overall customer retention strategies. Not only is Amazon their direct competitor - a competitor that frankly beats them on every single facet (price, products, cordiality, and stellar customer experience) but also their direct competitors are just a block away. With the present state of its shabby customer experience, I cannot recommend this store. I propose it radically overhauls its 1.approach to customer experience and 2.pricing strategy.

Ecollegey is always a great experience. The staff is helpful. The products always of very good quality.

Fantastic place in a nice, residential area. Very well stocked and staff very helpful. Diverse ingredients and fresh food available. I recommend a visit.

Everything in the store is organic and they are very welcoming and amicable. I liked the fact that this is a store that offers locally sourced products. I will go back!

The woman who owns this staff is so unhinged it is Frightening. I was there with my six year old and she was actually yelling at one of her employees. Yelling. I don't know what it was about but I have Never seen management like this before and I will take us the 5 more blocks further and support a place who knows how to treat people with.basic decency! Rather than expose my son (or myself) to that kind of disgusting behaviour again. Shame.

For a small little shop, Ecollegey is AMAZING. They have such a great selection of organic products which are tricky to find!

And I love they are always bringing in new products to test out. I usually watch their Instagram because they are great at posting new arrivals. Just found a new fav gluten free bread brand this way!

The produce is always fresh and it’s just heads and tails above what you can get at Provigo at the other end of Monkland.

Service is friendly and helpful. It’s a boutique store and it really shows in the level of attention they put into everything.
