Great time here with friends. Our waiter Ranjan was hilarious and kind, food was good, great time overall. Highly reccomend.

The food was okay, I expected more from all of the reviews. But the service was great! And they had good portions.

This location is a heck of a lot better than the Notre Dame one - better service, better food, better everything. Will definitely be back!

I have never gone to this restaurant & left feeling disappointed with the services.
I come to this Eggspectation once every 1-2 years with friends or family as an early bird. I really enjoy the decor and the clean spaces.
The food quality varies from good to great not that much consistent in taste every time I come. It might be due to change in the kitchen staff but I’ve never had a bad surprise with my orders.
I definitely will go again.

Eggspectation restaurant truly impressed us! We savored their Eggs Benedict with salmon, and it was simply delightful. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked, and the hollandaise sauce was creamy perfection. The salmon added a wonderful richness to the dish. Our taste buds were in for a treat! Eggspectation provides a delightful brunch experience that's hard to forget.

If you came to this place 7 years ago, you’d have instantly fallen in love with this place. The atmosphere, food, service… there was something magical about it.

Fast forward to today and all of that has gone. Once you step into this place, you feel like you’re in a roadside diner with some handful of customers filling the tables but at the same time a bit depressing for some reason you cant point at. Servers look confused and disoriented. Chefs yelling out orders that seems to compound the chaos in the kitchen, with some pre-made pancakes being thrown around at the grill.

The menu feels the same as Ive seen 7 years ago. I ordered blueberry ricotta pancake and a montreal benny.i hear a customer next to our table grumbling to the server that he’s been waiting almost an hour. I get slight nervous but decide to proceed with ordering foods… and then we wait and wait… and after 30 minutes still no news. My companion and I start wondering if the dishes coming out from the kitchen would be ours but they kept on passing by (this was after peak lunch hour when the hall was slow). Our server realizing our concern, walks by and reassures that the dishes are coming out. Our stomach keeps on growling…

Finally after 40 minutes, we get our food. My companion and I celebrate by digging into these sad looking pancakes that are covered by these vile looking purees of blueberries that tastes as awful as how it looks. The bennies lack any flavor and the montreal special cured meat has this disturbing aftertaste that cannot be covered in their ‘special’ hollandaise sauce.

My companion and I couldn’t finish the dish at the end and left very dissatisfied. I guess my advice is - don’t keep your expectations too high when you decide to visit this place because there will be nothing but disappointment here

Food was ok but I wanted a house salad with my sandwich not fries and the wait staff could've been more attentive. Seemed to be a popular spot though so probably worth a visit.

I ordered bunch of times from their website and somehow they never receive the orders.
I had to wait 20 minutes for a salad that was so salty I had to throw it out.
Let alone the salad costed 24$ for some green leaves 3 cucumber slices and some extremely salty chicken.

On a different occasion I ordered eggs and payed 4$+ for a side salad.they still served eggs with the fries and charged the 4$ extra. I wrote an email to complain and I never heard back.

I will not order from this place again!

Friendly and helpful staff yummy food. Vegetarian option available. We went for the brunch. Seated soon. Didn't wait long for food as well. Will recommend.

Frommers: Don't be put off by the goofy name, the 15-page menu, or the fact that this is a small chain (there are six outposts in Montréal alone). This breakfast-centric restaurant delivers. Food is fresh and comes out fast, even when there are crowds. There are 10 versions of eggs benedict alone (“Montréal Style” comes with smoked meat) as well as non-breakfast foods such as burgers and club sandwiches. In addition to this location, other central outposts include 190 Ste-Catherine ouest at the Quartier des spectacles and 12 rue Notre Dame est in Vieux-Montréal.

The food is good. But being charged for someone elses bill is wrong and the waiter refusing to fix it is embarrassing for the company. Train your staff to do their job right. Won't be coming back ever again and I've been going there for years. You guys just lost a customer.

Menu was fantastic. Had a server who was just starting (we were her first table ever) she didn't miss a beat! Great time and food and service.

Decent breakfast joint with a nice patio for watching the people and bicycle traffic. Tons of wasps on it though, I mean it was like there was a hive on the patio or something. They had a few half-filled wasp traps around but it didn't seem to matter.

My husband and I were both ill after eating here. Thanks for making the rest of our day exciting, helping us both to have an intimate relationship with the porcelain throne in our hotel room.

Prime location for tourist.
The space itself is a little narrow downstairs.
They have a huge breakfast menu.
We had their pancakes with bacon, sausage and potatoes. Overall decent but very little maple syrup, really liked the potatoes.
We also had the yolk around the clock, it was ok.
Our waiter was super nice but thet should try and have the busboys take care of water.

The restaurant has been closed since January 7th 2019 for Renovations. I wish it was updated on the site so we didn't go there for nothing

It was right behind Marriott so easy to walk to. Service was amazing and the food was good too esp the Banana Chocolate shake with espresso. It was def what I had Eggspected. ;)

One of the best breakfasts places for more than eggs, but on eggs they are amazing. Try the Salmon Benedict on a sesame bagel. Sorry was so intune eating i did not take a pic. A+

Pretty mediocre. Service was great (super fast), but food had been sitting around for a while. I guess that's to be expected from a place like this, but I won't go back. Simple things (omelettes, eggs) are fine, complex stuff (crepes, benedicts) is bad.

Pretty awful service, the waiter kept on rushing us out even though the restaurant had plenty of space. The food quality has definitely gone down and the mimosas were terribly made. I would have preferred to eat at McDonald's.

This place had been talked up quite a bit but did not meet expectations. It was fine but not amazing as I was lead to believe. The Bloody Cesar was awful but the waiter kindly removed it from the check. Good service but mediocre food

Good location but can’t say the same for the food nor atmosphere. Benches are fairly spaced from each other but are so uncomfortable considering you’re there for at least 45 mins. The low lighting and industrial theme they are going for is badly done; its too dim inside and it seems like they just didn’t want too spend much in renovating/redecorating so they just put painted and left everything as is. The food itself was mediocre and is too pricey for what one actually gets. Service was decent; it wasn’t outstanding by any means, however, it wasn’t noticably bad either. Overall mediocre experience; I wouldn’t willingly go there again nor suggest it to anyone I know, but wouldn’t disagree about the spot if I’m going with friends.

Excellent service and delicious food, good refill coffee. Menu has tons of options with a Canadian feel to it than typical breakfast. And best of all Pankaces and French Toast come with Québécois maple syryp.

This was the best breakfast I've ever had to date! I was recommended the Eggs Benedict on a Belgian waffle by Steve, truly magnificent. The flavours blended wonderfully and was a great treat. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great Breakfast.

Understaffed, cold food. Got my coffe at the end of. My meal. If your not in a rush, avoid this place!

Always enjoy going to Eggspectation for breakfast and / or brunch in Montreal. Good variety and fresh ingredients.

I really liked the place, good food and great ambiance. Very good place for the breakfast. Would like to visit there again.

Good breakfast place, reminded me a lot of Cora's, which is a good thing!
Only down side was that it was a bit too crowded. My chair was back to back with someone else and it just made it feel cramped. Besides that though reasonable price for some excellent food

If you enjoy a fast paced, efficient restaurant with excellent food and servers gave you room for privacy yet maintained all the necessary care, then this would be the place to be. If you prefer a quiet, relaxing place to dine and wine with friends then stay away. Just visited this place for brunch and every staff is like a well oiled machine. I especially impressed with the head server's attention to detail. He clean plates, correct plating, coordinate food orders all with ease.

FOOD: 5 stars. My food was amazing. I ordered a meal that essentially boils down to pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, and potatoes. But Eggspectation does it a bit differently in that all the items were STACKED. A bottom pancake with bacon on top, flanked by a middle pancake with sausage, and finally another pancake topped with an egg. It was delicious. Not an especially novel concept but combined with the absurdly delectable 100% pure Canadian syrup, this was a winner.

VALUE: 4 stars. The price wasn’t too bad, but this was close to the most expensive breakfast I had on my trip to Montreal. To be honest, any restaurant can make the brunch Eggspectation does, but I won’t knock off too many points, considering the mood and ambiance of their outdoor seating is pretty top-notch.

SERVICE: 3 stars. Our waiter wasn’t the friendliest. I legitimately don’t think he smiled a single time. When I asked for a straw, he seemed mildly annoyed and brought me one without the wrapper. That was kind of strange.

TL;DR VERDICT: 4 stars. The food is great and the atmosphere is so Montreal, and despite a higher-than-average price and a blistering waiter who shall remain nameless, I’ll be back if I ever visit the Royal Mountain.

Pretty good and consistent food with other locations (Ottawa, Toronto). Nice setting with patio and open concept near downtown Montreal, ok service a little slow, tight seating, street parking.

Wait Staff is slow, the food is super mediocre, and it's extremely humid, smelly, and stuffy during the summer. The upside is that they have decaf coffee and decent drink selection compared to Universel.
