I visited this so called "Yani" Electrician store with the intention of having three wires soldered and individually insulated to prevent any contact between them. The item in question was a control unit module from a Makita DF012DSE cordless screwdriver, which features a flexible joint, and it was in this joint area that the wires had sustained damage. The individual I entrusted with this task, who claimed to be an electrician, did indeed solder the wires together, but inexplicably chose to wrap all of them together with a single piece of electrical tape. It doesn't take an expert to foresee the consequences when exposed wires make contact.
As expected, when I returned home and assembled everything, reinserted the battery, smoke began to emanate from the device. Upon disassembling it once more, it became evident that a grave mistake had been made. I find it hard to believe that even an amateur with no electrical knowledge would make such a mistake. I promptly contacted "Yani" to bring this error to his attention. Yani response was that there was no other way to insulate the wires individually due to space constraints, as it would not have fit inside the cordless screwdriver's compartment otherwise. My question was, why did he accept the job if he knew this would be the outcome?
His solution was for me to return his store so he could attempt an alternative approach. However, he failed to grasp that this module contains the circuit board responsible for controlling the screwdriver's functions, and his so called fix had rendered it inoperable. Despite being aware of the negative reviews left by others, I gave this Yani a chance and chose not to follow my instincts. I urge you not to repeat the same mistake I made.
