Take out; My Amex credit was expiring Dec31, I didn’t have time to dine anywhere really during the holidays. I ordered them to go over the phone, went smoothly, ready in one hour even though the restaurant was quite busy, 4 pizzas and 3 pastas, nicely packed. All delicious and the best value ever. I will order again, maybe dine in next time.

Only good thing I can say about Elena is after being ignored by the bartender for 25 min we left and discovered Tuck Shop, which was fantastic. My mistake for going to Elena a second time after poor service the first visit too, but the food was good so decided to give it another shot. Never again.

We traveled from Orlando, FL for my birthday trip and decided to try this restaurant. I have to say it definitely didn’t disappoint. We ordered the Kale Salad and Fungi Pizza. Both were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this place. It a hidden gem. Service was amazing and food was delicious.

A real gem since its opening. Great for couples, friends, families and groups. Amazing food and wine list. Impeccable service. Beautiful atmosphere. I am never disappointed when taking people there

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Montreal. This was my second visit here, and it was as amazing as the first time.

The ambiance is great, and the service is quick and attentive, if not a little cold at times.

The food is amazing! Their pizzas are incredible, I recommend the Diavolo 2.0, which unlike many diavolo pizzas, is actually spicy! We also shared the Gigli pasta which was cooked and seasoned to perfection.

To finish, we shared the chocolate tart, which has a slated nut base and is an amazing combination of salty, sweet, and chocolaty.

The wine list is also extensive, and I recommend indulging in a bottle to pair with your food.

Just sooo good! We ate in the “walk in” part of the resto and the vibe was still really nice, service was amazing and food came insanely fast. We ordered a pizza, the ragu and cannolis — everything was 10/10. I’m def returning for more!

Wowowow I have been searching for Italian food this good for over a month traveling in Canada and I finally found it. The zucchini flower pizza and Mafalda with ragu were the standouts but loved the suppli and kale Caesar as well. Meatballs not so much. Dessert options could use some work too. Our server spoke ridiculously quietly, the place is quite loud for a group but overall it has a really nice vibe to it.

Top pizza in Montreal. Fun seasonal toppings. Great pasta making is transposed from Nora Gray. And just like all of the Nora Gray restaurant family - antipastis, salads and desserts are hardly memorable. Regardless, the pizza alone grounds Elena in Montreal’s culinary landscape.

Decent pizza & pricey wine. FYI reservations are strictly for 2 hours and they WILL kick you out of your spot after then…they remind you of the time restriction every 15 minutes which is really annoying when you’re constantly interrupted mid conversation.

Excellent pizza… not too ‘doughy’. Simple foods executed very well. Staff was very nice (even charged my phone for me) ; however, we seemed to have 3 or 4 different servers and long gaps between. By the time I got my 2nd glass of wine I was nearly done eating. Coffee arrived when the dessert was already finished.

Fabulous! Amazing service, ambience and food! The cocktails and pasta special of the day were amazing.

Fantastic dinner experience. The kale salad had the most delicious dressing, and the pizza was on point - from the flavour of the crust to the toppings. The pistachio gelato was the icing on the cake.

One of the most special restaurants I’ve ever been to. Pizza steals the show here but the apps and salads are great. Cauliflower and Arancini apps were incredible and we split a kale Caesar. All of them had the entire table bussin. The wines were great too im no wine expert but savoured every sip of the wine. Try the Orange wines. Service great too. Make sure you get a reservation!

There are many great restaurants in Mtl but Elena takes our top spot not because of the great food but because of the exceptional service by the staff especially, Amy.

Amy, remembered us from a previous lunch visit last year which in itself, was incredible. She was friendly, attentive, and her positive attitude just makes the whole experience that much better.

We started with Concombre app which was great. We followed that with the M. Funguy pizza and the Mafalda al ragu and everything was just incredible. We ended our dinner with a yummy Peache gallette and a cold brew.

Our only complaint, we wish we had bigger tummy’s so we can order more food.

Can’t wait to be back.

Although the restaurant was highly recommended, our experience was average and the ambiance- poor. We sat on the most HIGHLY uncomfortable wire chairs with a tiny table perched over rocky gravel, with no candle on the table making for a dimly lit, stuck in the corner of the terrace vibe. The spaghetti was below average for the price, the pizza had a delicious crust but unfortunately was rather undercooked in the center making for a very floppy piece of pizza. If you go, avoid the terrace and Elena- invest in some chair cushions for your customers!

Great experience. Great service. Good wine…they know theor stuff.
Simple: pizza, pasta. Try the antipastos like choufleur. Don’t be shy to ask about there today’s specials…there a good. Pizza pesto with Bête à Seguin is a must.

Had a great time here last night! Service was excellent, even though our server was super busy with juggling a ton of different tables. The mushroom pizza was excellent, we were told up to 12 different mushrooms are used as toppings. I have to admit the crust was better than a lot of places in NYC which is pretty impressive. They also have an Ops pizza which is cool to see, as someone who lives in Williamsburg (where Ops is from). Kale salad was perfect. Don’t sleep in the Melon cocktail. Pasta could’ve been better. Still a great spot!

All super fresh, super tasty ingredients. The Gigli pasta was revelatory, to quote my wife. And it really was delicious. They ran out an hour after we got there so we felt lucky to be able to try. The pizza is a thin crust with fresh toppings. Also the cucumber starter is a great choice. Excellent wine list and service. Highly recommend!

Elena had some of the best pizza I've had in recent years. We brought some clients from NYC and they raved about the stracciatella one. I'm surprised that Elena isn't often in the "best pizza in Montreal" discussions!

Great service, great atmosphere and great food. Pizza and the arancini (not what they're named on menu) were cooked perfectly and delicious. The cannoli were fresh and well made, but I'm not a big fan of orange which these had a bit of. If you do like orange flavor then I would also recommend them. All around great experience.

Food was ok, service was meh. Hostess kept coming over and giving us a count down of how much time we had left, first at an hour then 30 min then 15. It was super rude. We get it. Two hours. Our server was ok, nice but non attentive. It took about 20 minutes of our precious 2 hour time slot to even place the order. Kale salad was delicious, everything else was ok. Definitely better places for pizza and pasta in Montreal.

There was so much hype around this restaurant that we were really excited about our reservation. Unfortunately, we were left a little disappointed. The decor/ambiance is a little cold and the service was okay. Overall, the meal was good but nothing out of the ordinary. There are better restaurants at this price point in Montreal.

Super cute covered back patio. Amazing wine list and some great craft beers. Oven fired pizza as well as various shareable dishes. The pasta and salad were great.

Went with friends who know this spot for dinner. They were spot on. It's has the best pizza in Montreal and love the kale Caesar. Good selection of local beers and excellent staff.

The St-henri neighbourhood of Montreal is filled with a variety of restaurants and cafés that defintiely warrant a visit to the south-Ouest. Elena is right up there in terms of ambiance, delectable menu, an impressive wine list and great cocktails. Dough cooked to perfection which was noticeable with the perfect pizza "crunch"

We absolutely loved the food. By far the best pizza and pasta I have ever tasted. Service was top notch and they have an amazing selection of wines you cannot get at the SAQ. Wonder vibe and atmosphere, thanks for the wonderful evening.

Twice I tried to come here for dinner, about 3 years apart, had reservations both times, and both times was offered to sit at the bar instead. Yesterday I was told that there would be a 25 minute wait, not great when you have a reservation…

I normally love to sit at the bar but this one in particular is directly at the entrance and the stools have no back, it’s not a good alternative if you’re dining.

After the same experience twice I don’t think I’ll try to go again. Either way, I gave 3 stars because it was well recommended by other friends.

Honestly the best food I have ever had. The menu selection is not vast, but what they do, they do right. We had the kale caesar, a must. The margarita pizza, and the veggie pasta. All were rich in flavours, and delicious. They have a private import wine selection of natural wines that you cannot find at the SAQ. Atmosphere and vibe were on point, would recommend for sure

Great food & service, you would not expect that sleek decor in the inside based on outside appearances. The pizza and salad were delicious and it’s a very reasonable portion vs price, gelato was definitely very fresh and homemade (chose pistachio, perhaps a little too nutty but that’s my personal taste). Food was paired with a white wine our server let us taste ahead. Given the rain they quickly adjusted our reservation and even managed to give us an extra 30 min.for the reservation which was a nice gesture. Thumbs up and will def be back!

One of the very best pizzas in town. The no service counter in the back is the utlimate place if you dont have a reservation and just want to eat at your own pace in the summer, next to the community garden in the alley. The pastas are also great, and the wine list. Service is always fun and on point. The inside is a bit dark, but that's the only critism I can find to this gem. Keep up the good job guys! If 6 stars were an option I would have done it! I cannot say enough about the quality of the food, the decor, and the vibe that the owners and staff created. We were there for almost 3 hours haha

It was so easy to taste the freshness of the ingredients in all of the dishes we had (and we were 4 people and did family style so we ordered a good chunk of the menu haha).

The service is exceptional, and the gentlemen who was charged with our table was very professional and knowledgeable, but also was a lot of fun to talk to, and his passion for the food and drink that was on offer was easy to see.

Highlights included: the Pinzimonio! (beans for us) and the Suppli al Telefono (arancini) for starters, the diavolo (very flavourful) and Industrie Alla Pala pizzas, (the sauce and crust on this were to die for). For dessert we thoroughly enjoyed the in-house made gelato (the pistacchio was so good we ordered a second scoop), and a flourless almond cake with sour cherries and fresh cream.

Wine and beer lists were also exceptional. I will always come back to this spot when visiting Montreal!

I highly recommend Elena restaurant. We started our meal with the Suppli al Telefono antipasti which was delicious in the tomato sauce, followed by the fresh Verde salad with basil, arugula, slices of endive and just the right amount of Parmesan sprinkled on top. We had two main dishes the Funguy pizza, and by the way the crust was perfect no droopy pizza crust here! The other main dish was the Mafalda Ragu - such a beautiful dish, it was so tasty and the pasta was cooked to perfection.
I was quite pleased to see that the restaurant adhered to the Covid guidelines, safety measures were put in place and maintained. I felt comfortable and safe. Restaurant is clean, decor is minimalistic and the ambiance is welcoming.
The service is impeccable, and the staff is professional.
I will definitely go back.

La nourriture est excellente, j’ai particulièrement aimé la pizza aux fleurs de zucchinis et aux anchois. La croute est parfaite.
Leur nouvelle terrasse est intime et chaleureuse.
Ils ont une belle carte des vins avec de délicieux choix, mais j’ai trouvé que le prix des verres est trop élevé comparativement à ailleurs.

Charming place to go! I went with my boyfriend the first weekend the terrace opened in Montreal and I really liked it! It's a nice place to have a date right now with all the restrictions! There were not many people due to covid, but the ambiance was excellent, and the waitress was really nice! I'll go again for sure!

Got the Diavolo Pizza Excellent taste not spicy at all also got 2 cannolis it was very good i just dont get the syrup on it i findnit will taste betyer without the syrup just my opinion i still give 5stars will be back again. 1 of the best Pizzas in all of Quebec.

La pizza alla pala était délicieuse, j’aime beaucoup le fromage stracciatella dessus et le gâteau roulé aux fraises était divin.c’est un des meilleurs gâteau que j’ai mangé de ma vie et c’est exactement dans mes palettes de goût!

Tried this place for the first time a couple days ago. Pizza was delicious and staff were so nice! My very food-picky husband loved it. Got the dream puffs as a dessert and those were yummy too! Can't wait to try the canoli:)

J’ai vraiment aimé les pizzas chez Elena, le plus près so far des pizzas que j’ai mangé en Italie. Nous avons pris la margarita, selon moi la meilleure façon de bien gouter une pizza vu la simplicité des ingrédients. La sauce pourrait être légèrement plus assaisonnée, mais la pâte est excellente, overall c’est superbement bien réussi. Sous les conseils de la serveuse, nous avons goûtés également a la calzone ricotta / jambon blanc. Fromagée, généreuse, légèrement nappée d’ail et de parmesan. Je la reprendrais sans hésiter!

En gros, belle qualité, le goût et l’authenticité y est, ils ont une bonne réputation et ils surfent un peu sur cette vague pour se permettre des prix légèrement sur-élevés à mon avis, je n’ai pas été insultée d’avoir payé trop cher, mais je crois que c’est un prix légèrement plus haut que des compétiteurs qui pourraient offrir une qualité similaire.

J’ai tout de même hâte d’y retourner, de reprendre ces plats et de les manger frais faits, sans avoir à les apporter chez moi!

This little gem of a place located on a famous street for great food called Notre-Dame is named Elena montreal. It's one of those places that really care about every aspect of the customers dinning experience. From the decor, to the lighting, to the white shirt themed staff to the food that comes to your table. Everything their serves the purpose to give you a experience like no other.

I had the pleasure of going to this fine restaurant only 2 weeks ago now with a long time friend. Both of us couldn't make up our minds of what we wanted. Pizza. Pasta. Two or three appetizers. So we got the lot. We ended up sharing it all and thankful that we did. Because it showed us both a little from each section of there menu of what they had to offer to the great city of Montreal.

Every dish that this place served to us was better then the next. All leading to the main event. The wood oven baked pizza. The thin crust that still held its structure when taken apart and had a crunch when you bit into it. The amazing sauce that resonate in your mouth, wave after wave of it. The Qc cheese that lent it self so nicely to the homemade pepperoni that added a lovely and textural note to the dish. And finally the added hot peppers with a slight add of pepper oil to tie it all together!

I can't wait to go back to this place soon to try there new creations. Did I mention there menu always changes and that everything is homemade? ! From the pizza dough, bread and pasta that they made from scratch and even pepperoni as if you weren't already impressed. A real foodies dream ️

Incontestablement une des meilleures pâtes à pizzas à Montréal. Habituellement je prend toujours la Margherita sauf que j’ai aussi pris la M. Fun-guy et je suis tombé à la renverse! C’est de ma vie la top des pizzas au champignons. J’attend que l’on me convainque du contraire ;)

Great food and service!
I am generally not keen on going out to Italian restaurants as it associates with junky food that you can order in or cook at home. At Elena, the food is fresh and flavourful, the recipes are unique and delicious. It makes you feel good even after you finish your meal! Definitely recommend!

Excellent food, service and the waitress took the time to explain the menu and offer her recommendations for us to enjoy a bit of everything by sharing. Not cheap but worth the experience and the pizza is exactly like my kid’s Nonna used to do. Reservation is better if you don’t want to end-up waiting for ever.

This Italian modern restaurant has more velvet and hipsters than a Arcade Fire music video. A beautiful restaurant that sets the table for beautiful subpar food. The menu is interesting, but food lacks that tang. Even their pizza strikes out. Elena is a spectacle for your eyes but not your mouth.

Really disappointing. I've been to this restaurant about 6 times since it opened. At the beginning I really liked it. The room is nice, the ambiance was good and the food was really tasty. Highlights included the Kale Salad, and some dessert with apple. However, I've found with each visit I get more and more disappointed. Somehow I find the bill comes out to way more than I expect; the portions for salads and pastas seems quite small. The pizza is good, but - pizza is good. I wouldn't compare it to the best pizzas in Montreal by any means. Some menu items seem to be created to be ''creative'' but fail to deliver in any way but being odd choices (no one needs a goat cheese cannoli, ricotta is perfectly delicious as is). We had the homemade sundae, and it was so icy and we left it on the table (this actually never happens to our group). I'm not sure what's going on with this restaurant, I had so much hope for a neighborhood gem, but I just keep leaving disappointed.

Personally don't understand people's complaints about this restaurant.

It's busy and the food comes out promptly but that's the appeal! It's vibrant and fun without being too noisy. You're really in the mix and the staff are friendly and ready to explain anything. I personally never felt rushed even though it was full and no table was empty longer than 5 minutes. We exchanged pleasantries with the people next to us. Everyone seemed happy to be there.

There's an army of staff working and that's reflected the price point. My water glass was topped up 5 times in an hour and a half.

If you end up wanting to linger somewhere to drink and chill, eat a couple plates here for an hour or so (suppli and kale ceasar are great and any pasta dish) and go down the street to check out an other bar. We went to Loïc after witch was small and intimate with simple cocktails and tons of wine.

The neighbourhood is clearly developing and I can't wait to return and see what else Elena is serving up.

Outre la bonne nourriture et la belle ambiance feutrée, nous avons eu droit au pire service à la clientèle. Après avoir fait part de notre insatisfaction à la gérante, nous nous sommes vu faire face à un mur où aucun signe de compréhension ne fut exprimé et en nous faisant répondre de façon arrogante. Toutefois, notre serveuse est venue sauver les meubles en offrant un service courtois et professionnel. Pour cette raison, nous ne retourneront malheureusement pas au restaurant Elena.

Attention to detail. From their dishes whom taste of hours of labors of love, work and preparation to reach your plate, to the care they take in attending to each person who comes through their doors. Elena is as in tune with classic Italian cuisine, in the same sense that their wine list pairs perfectly with their dishes.

We were a party of 3 pescatarians and thought for sure an Italian restaurant would be a nice choice. Upon arriving, we found the waiters unbelievably unaccommodating. After ordering a starter and pizza, we had asked if something could be done for us, perhaps a pasta rosé sauce, to which the waiter responded "sorry, we don't have the ingredients". Strange, you're an Italian restaurant. I'm not sure which Italian restaurant lacks tomato sauce and cream.

In any case, we expected an alternative to be suggested (spaghetti aglio e olio maybe?) and the waiter simply shrugged his shoulders and told us we should take another look at the menu. Nice! On top of that, one of us ordered a lemonade which the waiter said had "fresh mint from the garden". When another one of us asked for hot water and mint (nana tea) at the end of the meal, we were told they, again, "might not have the ingredients" (!)

This just flat or made us laugh. So you have fresh mint from the garden but you have to double-check if you can boil water? !? The food itself was actually quite good, it was the terrible service and the lack of even TRYING to accommodate us that truly made us feel unwelcome and was without a doubt a disappointment.

We're two vegetarian, very happy with the pizza and the pasta of the day, one was vegan and the other was vegetarian. Loved, loved, loved the appetizer we chose. Service was awesome, the staff was very friendly.

What a lovely restaurant! Great Italian dishes with a modern twist. The interior design is extremely appealing, lovely vibes, knowledgeable staff on wine suggestions, and the food is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend to eat here for a date night, celebration and/or work dinner event! The kale salad, burrata dish and shishito pepper pizza was absolutely divine.

This place is a gem. Elena is a place that is easy to miss since it is not really advertised outside of the restaurant. But it is definitely a place to try. Both the pizza and pastas are incredible in this restaurant. All of the recipes are really simple, but the quality of the ingredients and the perfect mix of flavor brings all of those simple recipes to a next level. The wine menu is really interesting and changes constantly. The wine that comes in glass format is always really good. Finally, the service is really good there and the staff is really nice. This is a place to go.

It's an ok place. Pizza was quite good and the salad very good. Small terrace outside is nice as well. No table service. You order inside and service stops there: you take your bottle of water and glasses and sit on the terrace and they bring you the food.

Simple food but very well done. There's a very chic/upscale vibe and excellent/very friendly service. You get the impression it might be expensive from the atmosphere but its extremely generous considering the quality. We sat at the bar and were served by Vero who guided us through the menu and helped us decide what to order. Her reccomendations did not disappoint at all. We particularily enjoyed the "dante", a large bowl of crunchy iceberg with duck ham, chicory and marinated mushrooms. My picky italian boyfriend approved of the pizza and we both agreed it had a way better crust than any pizza we have tried in Italy and Quebec. As a chef, my only critique would be that maybe the goat cheese ricotta was a bit overpowering in the cannoli, I personally might consider cutting it with a bit of plain ricotta; this way it would be a little more subtle and we could enjoy the taste of the perfectly flakey/crunchy cannoli dough a bit more. The olive oil ice cream is a must try! 10 out of 10, we will be back without a doubt. Special thanks to Vero, she is a pearl!

Nourriture excellente, simple et très bien réussi. L’ambiance est vraiment intéressante, le service est professionnelle et amicale. Parfait pour un simple tête à tête tout comme pour une soirée bien arrosée entre amis.

Nous avons pris les supplis et les tagliatelles: vraiment excellents. Les portions assez petites mais
trois petits plats pour deux personnes ont été très suffisants.

The food is good, even tasty. The prices are salty, and the portions are minuscule. The wine list does not have anything under 50$. The wait staff has very little experience, could not recommend a wine when asked, and pushy. The place was almost empty yesterday evening, yet they were intent on pushing us out the door in 2 hours as per policy. There are plenty Italian restos in Montreal that are equally as good, significantly less expensive and in nicer hoods. This place is a hipster paradise.
