I do not recommend this hotel. After a 7 hour drive and spending 400.00 on hockey tickets, and 200.00 at the "Pet Friendly hotel, 5 mins into the game, the hotel called me and said my dog was barking and I had to leave the game and get back immediately. I spent 30.00 on an UBER and rushed back. I intenionally stood by my room door. Not a peep from my dog, she never barks unless someone knocks. Outside my door was a bunch of snacks that they left for me, and because I wasn't there, they contunued to knock which made my dog bark. I told the front desk I'd ve back rough 2.5 hours. She repeated, you need to come back now. Like I said, I returned to not a peep from my dog, she was just laying on the bed relaxed. I informed the front desk that I needed to hear back from someone, and have not yet. I stayed over 150 nights at Hiltons in the past 2 years for work, and because of this experience, I will no longer book a Hilton or recommend it to my coworkers, as Hilton is the choice of my employer.
Amazing room and staff! Our concierge was the best! He spoke spanish and would talk to anyone and everyone about the ins and the outs of the city! We had an amazing day thanks to his advice! Thank you so much Miquel! You were the best!
The strangest and most frustrating hotel stay we've ever experienced. A day before check-in, we called the hotel and requested a Keurig. The manager offered to upgrade us to a premium, 10th floor room complete with daily refillable snacks. Our room number was 1002 - avoid it! The bathroom was huge but the shower stall was tiny. The kitchenette had no glasses, coffee cups, plates, bowls or cutlery. When we called the desk, we were sent two tiny coffee cups, two spoons and two water glasses. Every day, we were told snacks were coming. They came once. Then it got weird. The folks in the Hilton condo above us began cooking and their cooking odors filtered down into our room through the heating/air conditioning vents. The day our neighbors cooked with garlic forced us out of our room. Rather than move us, as we suggested, a maintenance man unlocked and opened our windows and a housekeeper sprayed our carpet with Febreeze. The smells came every afternoon and evening, forcing us to open the windows. Desk staff seemed baffled but took no action. In fact, maintenance decided to paint the 10th floor hallways, further adding to the stink. Fortunately, we love Montreal and the weather was pleasant, so being away from the hotel wasn't a hardship, but paying for a room like this felt like a bad joke. One more note for those who might be assigned Room 1002: There is a floor to ceiling window with no lock on the handle. It was nailed shut.and those nails had to be pryed out by a maintenance man in order to air out our room. Good luck with that!
The hotel is being run into the ground and does not live up to the brand. Staff were great but overworked and disempowered.
Rooms need maintenance, restaurant is lack lustre, internet is very weak and we had COCKROACHES in our room. All they did was move us and give $50 in a voucher to a very underwhelming restaurant.
If they can turn around the maintenance and restaurant this would be a great place to stay but cannot recommend currently.
The rooms are spacious and clean. The location is great, very close to old downtown and the restaurants. But here’s why I’m giving them 1 star.
My car was stolen on May 21,2023. Sunday from their own garage. They claim that it was a public garage however Embassy is the one charging you for parking in the garage. The morning my car got stolen, I to the front desk after I realized my car wasn’t there, security came and told me that when he did his rounding at 6am, he said he saw 3 guys broke into my car and drove away with it, he witnessed it and did nothing, not even called the cops after the incident. Because the cops weren’t called until I went to the front desk and complained. I was able to retrieve my car back due to GPS system but my car was trashed.
Another frustrating part, as a Diamond Member is that there were no managers or supervisors that day to accommodate or sympathize with us. The only people who were there to deal with all these were the clueless receptionist with no idea what to do either. I expressed my disappointment and asked the front desk to inform the management and I would like for them to call me. What’s crazy is that after all these, I found out that a week before there was already another stolen from the same Embassy suites hotel garage and still they didn’t do anything extra to prevent future crimes like this. Let me stress this again, it is a paid parking garage at the hotel hit no security or cameras to protect your vehicles and guests. Until now, I’m still waiting for management to call me so we can at least discuss my concern. Me and my family were very disappointed.
Dated old room. Hotel management is not interrested to give standard daily room service (for example: room will not be cleaned or serviced when stay less as 3 days, even when staying longer time room ceaning must be requested 24h in advance.this is a total disaster and a 4* hilton unworthy as i am dust allergic and forgot to ask on day 3, but they totally refused to clean room on day 4 because i did not ask on day 3. On one of the days in the morning the elevator floor was sticky and smelled like beer, and in the evening (7 hours later) the elevator floor was still sticky and the elevator still smelly. The room temperature control was not working well and the airco/heating unit sounded brutally noisy, similar as a starting airplane). I stayed this year about +-100 nights in hilton branded hotels around the globe and this embassy suites hotel is near the bottom of my list of quality experiences regarding hospitallity and service feeling.total disaster experience this time.i hope soon rooms get refurbished, daily cleaned and staff to care about cleanliness and making guests feel welcome and aporeciated instead of making them feel as walking ATM machines that must swallow the unbarable old beaten rooms.
I was shocked to see them with an open buffet as any other places were closed with covid 19 rules still in effect. Nice clean hotel with great staff. We would come visit again. Thank you
Nice Location for Convention! Decent Resturant, Great Staff! Lots of Tourists so can be Fun on a Good Night. Drinks Expensive! Which is Normal for Montreal. Nice omelets! And Smoked Salmon Bagel was Good!
Went there for our anniversary. Although we let them know ahead of time the occasion, they didn't do anything special at all, let alone say happy anniversary. The hotel itself is old however the rooms are a decent size. Location is great - right by Old Montreal.
Very satisfied.spacious clean quiet suite. FULL breakfast included. Salmon Dinner was excellent waiter Arthur was polite & accommodating. Anoshan at front desk was extremely helpfull & professional. Short walk to Old Montreal.plan to return.
Superb location! Free breakfast and a drink during cocktail hours. I’d like to make special mention to Ria at the dining area. She really went the extra mile to make our stay exceptional.
This hotel is located in a very convenient place in downtown Montreal. The room I had was very large, clean and comfortable. I received cards for two drinks during the happy hours (5 to 7) per day as well as for breakfasts.which was very good compared with the 'Continental breakfast' of other hotels. I found the service in the restaurant not good at all. I had to wait a good amount of time before someone came to ask me if I wanted to eat. The waitress could be a little bit friendly. The food was average to regular, so I did not tried it again.
The Embassy Suites is a cut above the rest with their full breakfast options, nighttime reception and very friendly staff. I highly recommend this hotel for their good location and comfortable accommodations.
We had a wonderful stay. The breakfast, happy hour, complimentary drinks, cleanliness all great. The staff were awesome. So helpful and kind, really helpful. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Near the Old Port, this restaurant on the ground floor of The Embassy Suites (I did not stay at the hotel) offers a good selection of healthy food, good service, and reasonable prices
Very nice hotel but showing its age in places. Had a problem with my room at first but the staff immediately remedy it. The restaurant doesn’t look like much but the food is excellent.
Awesome place to stay with the family. Great rooms and great service. They have 2 free drinks for adults to enjoy every night from 17h30 to 19h30 and a great bruch / breakfast buffet. Located across the street from Palais des congrès, this place is close to downtown and old Montreal. A metro station across the street. Highly recommend!
Booked my stay weeks ago. Got here and were told the room I booked was not available. Why bother booking ahead if they're just going to give your room to someone else. Will never book here again.
The overall hotel facilities were old and dim, but the front desk staff service was great. Breakfast overall experience was average, but free. Surprisingly, there is not a USB plug inside the room for charging.
The breakfast was very limited. The furniture was old and outdated. I paid the deposit in cash and also it was withdrawn from my bank account. I paid almost 800$ as deposit!
Disappointed with the condition of our room, needs new carpet and bathroom renovation. Hilton Garden Inn is way better which is surprising since Embassy Suites is rated 4 stars.
Pretty good. Nice big suite with a jacuzzi tub. Only complaint is shower wasn’t big enough for 2. Free drinks from the bar were a nice touch. Easy check in and check out process.
Our stay was fantastic. The upgraded jacuzzi room was worth it for me. If u like a massage every night after walking the streets of Montreal then the jacuzzi is for you! Made to order omelettes were great every morning. Conveniently located in old Montreal you can walk to all the shops and also the waterfront. Service was friendly and hotel was clean. I will definitely stay there again.
Really great hotel. I have stayed here many times, rooms are always clean and the location is hard to beat. Breakfast is pretty standard among Embassy suites, and as you can expect it gets busy on the weekends. Close to the cobblestone streets of old Montreal. And Chinatown is a short walk away. When the prices aren’t through the roof I tend to stay here when in town for work. Parking is reasonable for being downtown.
A great spot to lay your head in a bed downtown. The breakfast included was good to great. And the free drinks at happy hour make any traveler happy! Close to the metro (subway)
I stayed at the personal suite. I loved the suite. It has a separate kitchenette, a spacious living room like a vestibule, and bed and bath area. It was a wonderful experience. They have a great breakfast spread and a happy hour between 5 and 7 pm. Although I never got around to experiencing the happy hour as I was at attending a conference on all my days of stay, it is a nice thing. I highly recommend Embassy suites by Hilton, Montreal. The location is good. The Place d'armes metro station is right opposite to it.
Good location and somewhat friendly service. It took an act of congress to get linens for tbe oull out bed. Breakfast was good and a good offer for free.
Their suites are comfy and like mini apartment which is really cool. We couldn’t figure out how to work the coffee machine. I personally prefer to make it on the stove, but there wasn’t one.
Fireplace is nice to cuddle at while watching a movie. We loved the jacuzzi!
Hotel felt like a condo. It was like being at home. Clean room, full size fridge, coffee maker, etc. Breakfast buffet was really good. Friendly staff. Overall really good experience. Will stay here again.
Very nice place. Clean, spacious, beautiful, friendly, , modern, and the list goes on. The hotel is at the heart of city and surrounded by wonderful restaurants and interesting places. Would bring the family back again. Thanks for hosting us.
Location was super convenient. Rooms were incredible, but beds were sub par! Service was the best I've ever had a at hotel, with happy hour drinks and excellent breakfast!
Even the size of the 'usual' Embassy rooms didn't do it for this particular hotel. From getting out of the car in the underground car park the smell hits you, I can only describe it as 'wet dog' it's horrid, unfortunately the smell once you get out of the elevator is no better, the whole lobby smells of greasy food. The room was not ergonomically correct and as such when the second sofa bed was rolled out there was noway you could walk around the room. We found that the deposit that they have to take off your card (they do put it back after several days) was extortionate! Once you pay the room, our card had almost $1,000 on it. The only bonus to this hotel is location, it's close to everything you need and we walked everywhere, other than that, no redeeming features.look elsewhere.
Very clean hotel, great service and affordable. You have all the needed appliances as well such as a dishwasher, microwave and fridge. The suite is cozy and has a direct access to the bathroom from the room, which is practical. You even get a complimentary two drinks for the 5@7 the night of your stay! Really enjoyed it, looking forward to coming back for next trip in Montreal
I love this hotel - I’ve stayed twice now. The suites are large with a separate bedroom and living room. Desk is perfect for getting some work done. No problems with the Wi-Fi at all. Buffet breakfast was really good. The staff is super friendly - our waitress even offered to bring us some bagels from a shop near her house which I thought was really nice of her to offer.
Not very impressed. Had employees laugh when we asked serious questions that could jeopardize our trip. Didn’t tell us about incidental fees at all prior to our trip and we were surprised at the desk when he tried to charge over my credit card limit and my understand why that was an issue. Had one exceptional server in the restaraunt who wrote us a list of bars we could go to. Other employees we encountered hardly smiled and weren’t exactly pleasant. Room is a fantastic size but severely scuffed up. We had to take over 50 pictures as evidence we hadn’t damaged the rooms. Also had a painting fall off the wall while in the shower. Breakfast was the worst. They had made to order but only had eggs. Potatoes were constantly cold, bacon was black, sausages were fairly decent, toaster conveyor can’t toast properly, fruit was bruised and brown, and pancakes looked and tasted like cardboard. Not at all impressed with our stay other than how close it was to walk everywhere. Tried to spend as little time in the hotel as possible.
