This review is about Expedia for TD:

My experience was atrocious, trying to refund and later chage a ticket I had with them. An incredible amount of hours spent on the phone - I would have been paid more money than the value that Expedia owed me if I had been working for minimum wage during that ridiculous number of hours. And ALL FOR NOTHING: Their systems are permanently broken, incapable of checking or confirming anything, and every time I called I had to reexplain the situation from scratch to someone new, for like half an hour.

The worst of all is that they didn't manage to solve it mostly due to technical problems, so they gave me a $50 coupon to shut my mouth, plus vague promises to follow the issue again in the future (which never happened). Adding insult to injury, when I decided to just go on with my life and pay from scratch for a new flight, using the coupon, through Expedia, it didn't work. More tecnhical problems. I called again and the agents couldn't figure out why the coupon wasn't working. I must have spent another 8-10 additional hours on the phone trying to figure this out. As I kept not working, I finally decide to give up on Expedia for TD and book my ticket elsewhere. Again, those $50 that I never got were a lot less valuable than the time I spent dealing with this kafkian situation.

Basically: Expedia for TD is NOT Expedia, they're like a different company using the same name, way worse managed and basically broken. Use your TD points elsewhere, not for a flight. It's the worse flight booking experience I have had in my life. Great shame on TD and Expedia for allowing this thing to exist.

The WORST customer service! This company will grant you a terrible travel experience and if you make a claim or complaint they’ll just throw it in the garbage! No follow-ups no call backs no actions after weeks! Each time you call, they’ll promise you something but NEVER stick to their word. They’re defending the hotels and services that they have sold you, even when it’s a clear and obvious issue that was documented. Bunch of SCAMMERS!

I recently made a car rental reservation through Expedia. The rate quoted through the site was not accurate with the final rate charged. I would not recommend using this website.

Service horrible. Compagnie qui fait des erreurs sans arrêt et cherche à compliquer les étapes afin de ne pas rembourser ses clients. Lorsqu'on les appel, on a pas l'impression qu'ils cherchent à aider mais bien à décourager. Je ne comprend pas qu'une compagnie qui arnaque SANS ARRÊT leurs clients peuvent rester en service sans se faire enquêter par la loi. Ça ne fait aucun sens.

J'ai acheté un vol par Expedia, il m'ont envoyé le email. Mais quand je suis arrivé a l'aéroport, Air Canada m'ont dit qu'le Expedia n'ont jamais acheté mon billet. Jai du me battre durant des heure avec des agent incompétent pour finalement retourner chez moi sans savoir si j'allais être rembourser. À EVITER A TOUS PRIS!

This is the most corrupt company I’ve dealt with and the employees are all taught different rules. They use every fee they can to reduce your credit or blame west-jet for policies which are their own. They gave me a verbal extension to use tickets after the 24 mos. Covid then kept no record they say, but what about these calls that are supposedly recorded!
Nine of us had tickets and we all lost more than half our money which is sitting in their credit bank … and they say WestJet has money and that’s a lie.
Don’t ever use them if there is the slightest chance of something going wrong

Actually, Expedia scammed me. I rented a car through Expedia website. They did not inform me about the specific policy related to driving license for their partner, Route. I had a G2 driving license issued in Ontario province which was eligible for driving in Quebec province. I paid the rental price through Expedia website and when I went to Route office to pick up the car, they said that their policy does not allow G2 driving license holders to rent a car from Route. So they did not give the rented car to me. I asked Route and Expedia repeatedly to refund the expenditure which I had paid while they did not accept. Irrespective of money which I spent without using the required car, time wasting and very bad sense which I undergone were the worst experience.

I’ve used Expedia many times before and have never had an issue but on this trip I’ve had so many abs such a lack lustre or complete failure to respond from Expedia that I literally can not believe it!

1. Disney Day Pass: in the website Expedia claims their tickets include FastPass access, but after you purchase all mention of the FastPass or how to prebook with it disappears!
So I call and am told I should receive an email with those details, email never comes, (yes I check spam)
I call back am on hold for over an hour (with no periodic check ins or anything, radio silence for over an hour!) until my battery literally dies, but I still don’t get a call back from Expedia after the disconnect.
I resort to contacting them through Facebook messenger because on the site they do not even provide a contact email. Messenger agent tells me, they will respond with in 24-48 hours, my trip is in 72 at this point, even if they resolve the fast pass issue it will be pretty much useless because all the good time slots and attractions will be fully booked.
They do not respond until 8pm the day after we have already been ad Disney and furthermore they still say nothing about the fast pass but merely tell me to go to Will Call for my park tickets (obviously duh)
So essentially I purchased tickets through Expedia that I could have gotten cheaper elsewhere because they claimed to include FastPass access that I never actually got to access #epic fail

2. Second issue is my car rental cost was $39 online after I cashed in Expedia rewards, they encourage you to book on the app on your phone but then bury all the fine print or in some cases like Disney tickets or car rental excess fees don’t show it at all. When I arrived my car rental cost an additional $280US because of mandatory insurance because we are Canadian and mandatory prepaid toll fees but the absolute worst is that the car rental company then insists on taking a $500-$2000 hold on your credit card! So now my card is maxed out which makes checking into my subsequent hotels with no room on my credit card for their holds or payments near impossible and has completely exhausted my cash flow. And all I got by way of resolution from Expedia was ‘sorry for the inconvenience’

If it was possible to put ZERO start, I would’ve.

It’s been 814 days since my flight was canceled du to COVID. I was eligible for a refund and I’m still harassing them to get it.
Each time they promise me it’s being process and to be patient, that I will get my money within 3 weeks. And every time nothing happen and I need to start from scratch.
Please booked directly from the airline, nothing is worth the nightmare they have for customer service.

I would give zero stars if I could. I booked a preferred club room at the Dreams Sands in Cancun Mexico in January 2022 for a stay May 8-14. Upon arrival, we were taken to the 8 th floor where the preferred club check in is and was basically accused of lying about my 14 year olds age so he would pay a child’s price. I informed them that I marked the age of 14 as on the passport and if there was any issue to take it up with Expedia. After that was sorted out we were given a deluxe room after paying the price of a prendere club room and was told that Expedia was not allowed to sell the preferred rooms. To make a long story short, two days later Expedia did nothing but give me a 200$ credit. I dealt with the hotel, but Expedia left me holding the bag so to speak. Be careful booking with Expedia cause they will just say “ sorry for the inconvenience”. Will not book through them again and will advise everyone I know, and anyone who will listen to me when I tell them that Expedia didn’t hold up there end of the bargain

Booked a room through expedia, got to the hotel just being told it's not in their system. Called Expedia and waited for 1.5 hours on the phone - they still can't tell me what is wrong? !
Being put on hold multiple times and every time the lady came back can't hear me and hang-up the Phone! Had to book another room with the hotel. Lucky I got a place to stay eh Expedia! TERRIBLE experience and will not recommend anyone to use Expedia!

Pourquoi nous payons pour des services qui ne sont pas honorés?
Parce que on est assurés que ça nous facilite la vie. (? !? !? !?)
Une fois l'argent dans la poche de la compagnie, les services manques, ou sont retardés par la manque du personnel, ou par la manque du respect pour les consommateurs.
J'essaie, depuis 2 jours, de contacter l'Expédia Travel, pour l'assurance billet que j'ai payé. Après des heures, bloquée au téléphone, en attendant un agent auquel je peux parler, à la limite de la patience, je suis pour la deuxième journée punie.
J'ai perdu mon temps et mon espoir. Aujourd'hui, presque demie journée est passée on attendant au téléphone.
Au dernier appel, le service automatisé m'a assuré que je serai appeler après 15 minutes. Il y a presque 2 heures et rien. Ça, après beaucoup d'essais faites hier et aujourd'hui, depuis le matin. Maintenant est 14,35 heures. Chaque fois, après l'attente, la lieson a été coupée.
Si j'ajoute que la première agente d'hier a été impolie et totalement hors de problèmes (à la place du numéro de la compagnie d'assurance, el m'a donné le numéro de ma police d'assurance.), probablement vous comprendrez la qualité de services qu'ils offres.
Je n'aime pas d'écrire des commentaires négatifs, mais ce n'est pas la première fois que je vis cette expérience.
Si quelqu'un est en détresse et a besoin d'aide, comment il se débrouillera si personne ne prend pas les appels.
J'espère que quelqu'un de la compagnie Expédia lira mes commentaires et apportera les changements nécessaires, pour gagner la confiance des clients et pour les remercier.

Je suis tres decu par Expedia, pour moi c'est des voleurs. J'ai du annulé un voyage a cause du Covid, depuis je me bat avec le service a la clientele et perd mon temps sans succes. Ils font tout pour rendre les demarches compliquées et interminable, c'est scandaleux. Ce n'est pas possible de mettre 0 etoile, c'est j'en met une. EXPEDIA pire experience, a EVITER ABSOLUMENT. J e vais déposer une plainte au tribunal des petites creances.

Zero stars. Worst customer service ever! They cancelled outgoing flight due to covid and would not cancel return flight. Was left with an incoming flight from a place I could not get to as all flights were cancelled until the return flight date. Virtual agent waste of time. Call centre based in Egypt? Agent called Bob.yeah right!), on hold for hours and then they hang up. Spent many wasted hours on the phone to Expedia and Air Transat (also useless). Even when you call the number is says theres a "glitch". Try and cancel via website and theres a "glitch"! Total scammers, will never use Expedia again. Go F yourselves!

First they cancel my flight then they changed it
Now i have struggling to get my refund back from last five months guys. They are saying they can't do anything. Never book your travel through them. Every agent have different protocols and different rules. When they want they will call the airline but when they don't want, they will tell you that the rules have been changed. They all are lying. Its almost a half year for me to calling them. Even their supervisor, they can't help you out. She called me and said I can't help you and I don't know what you can do to get your refund. They can see how many time you call but still they will tell you to wait. I can't explain in words how bad i feel to call them again and again Nd wait almost more than hours every time to get my money back. Plz don't book through them. They will never help you of something gone wrong with your flight

I paid for a flight directly on their website 2 years ago, due to the pandemic restrictions we were not allowed to travel so they gave vouchers instead of giving back my money.when I was booking a flight using the vouchers a few days ago, I couldn’t because the vouchers were not valid. I called them and they said that go get your money from the airline or whatever. They took my money and refused to give me the service or refund.simple as that.

I called to cancel a trip and have a recording of the call. For some reason, the agent did not cancel the trip and I am being charged for a trip that I did not take. The airline tickets for the same trip were cancelled, but not the resor. I have spent several hours online and on the phone with Expedia and have rarely experienced such poor service.

I will never book a vacation with Expedia Again. My friend and I booked travel together on the phone with an Expedia Agent. We both received Confirmation emails re our reservations. However, when we got to the airport we discovered that only I had a Flight and Westjet had nothing for my friend. Long Story short. Expedia screwed up. My friend had to pay out of pocket to take the trip as she had no choice. Mistakes happen yes, but it was the Expedia service that was so abominable. They did not initially believe she booked anything and were going to dismiss her had we not challenged them that they record all their phone calls. Long story short - it took several phone calls and escalations before Expedia admitted their mistake and refunded her out of pocket expense. Ridiculous! And never again with Expedia.

Booked a hotel room through Expedia with an agent, but once arrived, the receptionist surprised me saying the room I booked is unavailable. Expedia promised to refund me $250 since I was downgraded to an inferior room. The money was sent to the account of the agent even if they told me that wouldn’t happen so I called the adgent and deleted to mail because it’s what expedia told me to do. The money never arrived one month after the fact despite my numerous calls in my account. I spent 8 HOURS (!) over the phone with them just yesterday (many more previously). Very unprofessional, they will pass your case around like a hot potato, never caring about you or your issue. Incredibly frustrated they ruined what could have been a nice trip for $250. Avoid repeating my mistake and never book through Expedia, ever again.

Unbelievable people. I changed my flight via chat and they never booked the flight for new date. I need to fly today evening and now I dont have any flights niether today and nor day after tomorrow… and their customer support is just so worst that i don’t have words to say.

Très déçue de constater que mes points amassés grâce à un voyage en septembre 2019 ont disparus. Au service à la clientèle on me dit que si je ne fais pas d'achat sur mon compte pendant 12 mois, les points disparaissent.
Expedia n'est pas au courant qu'on vit une pandémie? Les dirigeants auraient avantage à assouplir leurs règles dans cette situation exceptionnelle s'il veulent valoriser l'expérience client!

Nous avons réservé une nuit dans un hotel pour 84$ prix indiquer sur la confirmation mais ils ont prélevé 136$ sur ma carte. Impossible de parler à personne en francais. Aucun service à la clientèle. Plus jamais!

It’s disappointing how they handled the pandemic situation. Their online support was nom existent, they were really bad at phone support, on top of that they gave me misleading information which kept me from being able to get refunded for my tickets. Not buying tickets through this company ever again

Be extra careful when you book the flight ticket through Expedia! No matter what the credit card payment goes through or not, airline companies CAN ISSUE THE TICKETS from your credit card and you would not be received the itinerary from Expedia. EXTRA CAREFUL and if there is a payment processing error, call right away to Expedia and let them fix it other than that you will have very unpleasant experience like me.

Even though requested the refund right away but they just instructed me incorrectly (every supervisor and representatives told me different stories) then finally they never admitted their mistakes and told me to do small claim suit to the airline company. IT TOOK 8 MONTHS!

Even managers are not professional at all. They are not listening and just say whatever they insist.

I am sure everybody knows that it is very difficult to get refund from Expedia and no more booking anything through Expedia until I die.

Absolute crooks. Changed a flight without my authorization. I didn’t know of the change until it was too late. Was forced to pay for another ticket to catch the very flight I originally paid for. Will NEVER ever use them again.

These guys are just an interface to nothing.

If everything goes as expected with your ticket, you don't have a problem. God forbid you have the slightest hiccup. They have no control over anything. They just basically tell you it is you and the airline and there's nothing they can do. There's no warranties or after-sale support. Once I bought travel insurance over their website, the airline abruptly changed my flight and I had to re-purchase travel insurance because it was bound to the original ticket.

As much as you can, book directly with your Airline.

Never ever buy ticket or book a hotel from Expedia. The worst agent I have ever met. I’ve booked a package with them in August (my travel date is Dec). Everything is going fine at the beginning. I’ve got the air tickets and hotel confirmation by email. So I go ahead to book the local tours and paid for it, which is non-refundable. After 2 1/2 months later, Expedia just sent an email to notify me the hotel I booked was not available. The time closer to the travel date, the price goes higher, they offered a cheap cheap motel which is far lower price compared to what we paid. As I have paid for all the local tours, I have to accept their offer. I would give them a negative star if I can.

Ça fait deux fois que nous utilisons Expédia pour louer un motel et à chaque fois ce n'est pas la chambre que nous avons réservée. Il change les photos donc nous ne louons pas ce que nous voyons et c'est pourquoi nous sommes déçus. Appelez l'hôtel même c'est mieux.

I would give no stars if I could. Their call center agents including Andrew would not honor the price on their own website and gave multiple reasons to justify. I spent 2 days with a total of 5 hours trying to get through to them, explaining my situation (credit I had to redeem from a cancelled flight towards a new flight), being passed around from one supervisor to the other, and finally after 5 hours over 2 days got to speak to Sophia in corporate only for her to tell me that she will not honor the price that I had quoted in the beginning of my call with Expedia and I had to pay extra $100. Folks, stay away from them! Customer service is DEAD when it comes to Expedia!

If you book at Expedia.ca, you better pray there is no problem of your booking. Since expedia can not control any of their offer, they basically just charge your money and leave you alone. Attention! As long as you book with expedia, even the carrier can not do anything on your trip! IT IS A TRAP! The customer service switch line or hold the line or cut off the line, whatever, because expedia call carriers for help instead of helping clients. Say that again. Book directly with carriers not expedia!

They canceled 6 one way airline tickets when we spoke to them to cancel only three one way airline tickets because we couldn’t travel one way we lost $$$$ because the Expedia agent neglected to inform that canceling one end of the airline tickets work cancel the whole ticket including the rerun portion if you didn’t purchase travel insurance;

I lost 6 one way tickets across canada now with no money reimbursed by Expedia.

Will never deal with them anymore. They work for them and not the customer! They mainly just recite their riules and regulations and does not try to help you. Worst thing is that they don't sympathize and doesn't try to accomodate you by providing other options at rebate. My suggestion is to work directly with the airlines. Book your hotel and car yourself. This way you will avoid having to call a company that does not care and your airline provider will have acces to your flight reservation. I hope you will follow my advice.

Expedia advertised a tour to a country that is not fit for tourism. They happily took my hard-earnt money. However, that country had been ravaged by a hurricane, had a visa office that is completely unresponsive, yet expedia kept that tour on their website and didn’t even display a travel advisory. I tried to get a refund, but they did not care about their customers. While their customer service was not completely horrible, they were indeed not helpful at all. I would advise people not to trust any tour they see on expedia. Your are much better off dealing with a local agent who actually vets the tours before sending their clients to.
