Very good bagels in Montreal, along with St-Viateur. They are very well known for a reason.

There is often a long queue during busy hours, so be prepared for that. Otherwise, try to go later in the afternoon or later at night.

The must-tries are for sure the classic sesame, but also the blueberry ones. I haven't found a better one elsewhere (the other brand all have a chemical taste to them).

Well they didn't get my order right but I don't mind since I was interested in getting the best bagel in town and now stocked a bunch in my freezer in Norwich. The taste is quite unique (much better than NY bagels sorry to say) and all made in traditional methods.

Actually we have been nearly in it all bagel shops in the area and this one is our favorite. The wait is longer than in other bagel shops but is worth it. I loved the sesame and git the salmon and creem cheese. Yummier this is absolutely delicious

The store is narrow and full of people. The line moves quickly and the bagels are very good value for money.

Onion and garlic were so burnt that it tasted bitter. Also, I couldn't taste anything in the bagel itself. I was a little disappointed because the place I expected was different from what I thought.

Amazing bagels that you need to get fresh. You have to order the sesame bagels, which are always going fast, so you will get them fresh from the oven every time.

We came here to try some bagels. The location was easy to locate and the service was fast. Due to the small size of the store, only 4-5 people are inside, so the remaining ones will line outside. It's possible to park on the street.
Bagels have a fresh and delicious smell. There are many different flavors to choose from, so make sure you're willing to try everything.

Suggestion: It would be helpful to have a menu display outside so customers can decide ahead of time instead of holding the line or rushing to order at the counter.

Boring. Nothing to rave about. I would argue the bagels I had in New Haven was way better. Montreal bagels suck.

We all know these bagels are incredible. We're lucky to have grown up with them here in Montreal where we have the best bagels.
Very well priced and always great

The bagel store is very well-known but surprisingly the price is still reasonable. I like its texture though it’s a bit different from the New York version!
The only bummer is that they don’t accept credit card (minimum $20 if I remember correctly).

Our family is on the Fairmont team. We arrived on a Monday afternoon. There was no line and we were served hot and soft sesame bagels for an affordable price. We bought fresh sesame bagels from Fairmont and St. Viateur's bagel and tried them together. Their bagels were a bit smaller but cheaper and softer than St. Viateur's

Went to Fairmont Bagels that first opened in 1919 and moved to its current location in 1949. Place is very small that sells a variety of bagels however the toppings for the bagels are sold in large containers. Had a delicious warm sesame seed bagel that had a hint of honey. Also had a strawberry chocolate bagel that was a bit on the hard side…. It didn’t taste fresh. Best to bring cash for small orders.

Petit magasin mais ça fait partie de son charme. Pas mal de choix de saveurs de bagels. Toppings en supplément.

Très bons bagels! Je n’ai cependant pas aimé celui à l’ail, qui avait un goût un peu trop prononcé selon moi

Nous avons testé les deux « meilleurs » fabricants de bagels de Montréal: les bagels de saint viateur bagels et ceux de fairmount bagel
Verdict: les bagels de FAIRMOUNT BAGEL l’emportent haut la main!
Ils sont beaucoup plus goûteux plus moelleux et il y a beaucoup plus de choix que ceux de ST. VIATEUR! (le dernier achat à ST VIATEUR: 2 douzaines diverses: secs et pas la moindre trace de sel: aucun goût)
A FAIRMOUNT BAGEL on prend le temps de vous expliquer les différents bagels on vous conseille et surtout surtout en plus de la haute qualité de leurs bagels: l’accueil!
A ST VIATEUR l’accueil est ultra froid ultra commercial
Le succès étant là aucun effort n’est donné à l’accueil
Alors en conclusion: plus de bagels à ST VIATEUR plys jamais
Désormais ce sera à chaque séjour à Montréal les bagels de FAIRMOUNT

A must stop place everytime your downtown. Grab some.cream cheese and some.smoked salmon and forget about it

Really good bagels! It's a small place and there isn't any seating so you get it to go. There are benches outside and lots of people eating away there.

I’ve tried Fairmount Bagel and St-Viateur Bagel and I liked Fairmount better. They were more soft and not textured as St-Viateur. But I would recommend you to judge for yourself.

Experience is inconsistent. We went Saturday afternoon, dozen sesame seed bagels, they were overcooked and all different shapes. No consistency and I don't understand how they can sell something that clearly isn't up to par. St Viateur is far better

The rivalry between Fairmount and St. Viateur over who brought bagels to Montreal is almost centuries-old. But both are excellent. Get a little from one and a little from the other, you won't regret it.

A staple bagel shop in MTL. I always grabe a few dozen bagels to take back with me every time I visit this place.

Stopped by to try their bagels as it was highly recommended. We ordered several bagels and they were all delicious. The sesame seed ones were hot since they were recently made.
This isn’t a place where you can have a sit and eat. It’s a grab and go establishment. They have an assortments of cream cheese and spreads. Service was great. HIGHLY Recommend!

Another must visit when in Montreal. This bagel was delicious, a little less sweet than that other famous one in Montreal.

Pro tip: Get some delicious gnocchi next door to dip the bagels in that delicious sauce!
