Lovely restaurant, staff were very nice. The brunch potatoes are delicious. The hollandaise was very thick. Perhaps just not my jam. It was almost a bit like mayonnaise. They have glutenfree bread available which is great and much appreciated.

I feel like I need to write a review because I was genuinely baffled at the treatment we received at this restaurant. Foigwa was once a place I enjoyed going to with good food and a great atmosphere. My opinion has completely changed following my last visit there.

For some context: my group and I booked in advance to celebrate our friend’s graduation. We were 13 people total. We called to reserve and told them we would be a large party - and they accepted to take our reservation and stated that our tables would need to be separated but that we shouldn’t worry because they would be right next to each other (at a talking distance they said). We reached Foigwa and they directed us to our tables which were, mind you, NOT at a talking distance from each other. We asked them if they could place us on the other side of the restaurant where there was more space and where we could’ve definitely fit but they said no, and that they were reserved (we later found out, they were not reserved since no one showed up). This ruined everyone’s mood including the person we came here for. It was lazy on the restaurant’s part. You could’ve easily told us over the phone that you wouldn’t be able to accommodate us and we would've gladly booked another restaurant that could’ve. But anyways, we decided to still enjoy our time despite not being able to hear one another from across the room.

I don’t know how to say this in a nice way but the food was AWFUL. I don’t know if it’s a change in management but I could not believe this was the Foigwa I used to come to. The quality of food was absolutely horrible! We ordered 3 truffle spaghettis which were SO bland and which cost around 30$ each. We asked them to make it again because it was totally unacceptable to present such quality for such a price. They agreed and while the new plates they offered were “better”, I just wouldn’t ever pay that much money for such low quality food. We also ordered the bechamel truffle fries which were basically frozen fries with a sauce that tastes like nothing. In one of the plates, there was AN ONION PEEL. This was absolutely disgusting. We called the manager and she took it away, came back and told us “It’s an onion peel” in the rudest and most condescending manner ever. Why was an onion peel on our truffle fries plate? She didn’t even offer an apology nor did she offer to replace the plate, we had to ask her. We found this extremely unprofessional.

The worst thing about our visit was the service itself. In all my years in Montreal, I was never EVER met with such a disgusting, malicious and horrible service. The manager herself was the rudest person I’ve ever come across. There was no regard for her customers, she showed so much attitude you would think we killed someone. She made our visit so unpleasant that I promise you, me and the 12 people I was with would never ever step foot into Foigwa again after this. We even asked to speak with her just to clarify certain things regarding the quality of the food and the way they treated us. I swear to god, she was so defensive, told us “we did the best that we could” and “well sorry that you didn’t enjoy your time”. There was no compassion or empathy in her tone just pure defensiveness, attitude and hostility. I have never ever come across such bad management. Whoever the owner of Foigwa is, I would recommend you look into this.

I hope you realize that such treatment will drive people away from your restaurant and I promise you we (13 people) will never ever step foot into Foigwa again and there is no one to blame really but the management of this place. I’m not writing this to be mean, but I’m just shocked that this is how some restaurants treat their customers nowadays. So thank you for making our visit so unpleasant, we will absolutely NOT be returning.

Great food. We had their brunch menu. It's a small restaurant so be ready to wait in line to be seated. Servers are very kind. One of my favourite brunch places.

The portions are relatively small and pricier compared to other brunch spots, but that's okay since the food is definitely of higher quality.

I've been multiple times for breakfast and once for dinner now at Foiegwa and have enjoyed it each time. The focus is on refined and clever takes on diner menus. Breakfast is especially good.

Mouth-watering food with fantastic customer service and decor to match! Super accessible by public transit! I always make sure to eat here whenever I'm in Montreal.

Delicious food and attentive staff! Gourmet choices you wont find in every resto. Pasta was delicious! Will go again and would recommend!

Les drinks, très bon.
Les entrés, justes tester les escargots qui étais bon mais disons qu'on ne peut pas trop réinventer ce plat.
Dans les plats.le fameux spaghetti au truffes. C'était bien réalisé mais pas assez goûteux en truffe, je pense qu'il faut rajouter le 9$ pour avoir une meilleure expérience.
Le tartare.bien sans plus.
En a côté, La frite a la béchamel et et truffe vaut vraiment la peine. Celle ci goûté bien la truffe.
Et c'est la que ça se gâte.les desserts, un brownie tout simple et crème cafe pas trop goûteuse et présentation vraiment pas top.
La tarte citron, un simple mélange au citron qui manque de punch dans un simple anneau de feuilleté.
Et un sundae caramel qui ne vaut pas le détour.
Bref j ai étais, je ne ferais pas de bonne ou mauvaise pub.
Le service juste bien aussi.
Niveau covid, un gel a l'entrée, la demande des pass sanitaires et pièces d'identité.
Mais pas beaucoup d'espace entre les tables.difficile accès a la banquette avec les plexiglass

This place is great! Food is amazing. Service is very fast. Staff is very friendly. There's also a surprise in the alley if you've got time for another drink.

Wow! The brunch definitely worth the wait. Pancake was fluffy but had the crust at the same time. Coffee was amazing and tried the side potatoes too. Loved the service and environment there

I actually rate this 3.5*. Its a nice little place where I would highly recommend reserving if not mandatory. Their menu is small, but has a good variety for all dietery people. We opted not to go with any entree. For the main, we had the spaghetti, which is their #1 recommend dish, and the dish of the day. The spaghetti was great; a tad salty, but that is coming from the pecorino cheese which there was a lot of! The dish of the day was a seared halibut with a grilled curly kale. The fish itself was moist, but the sauce on the skin made the skin soggy which was unfortunate. The sauce had great umami flavor, but there again it was quite salty for my taste. It paired well with the fish but the kale soacked up a lot of the sauce making it a little salty. The food was great, but our service was extremely disappointing. We waited almost 60 minutes for our main to arrive, meanwhile 2 tables that came after us where served already. We ended getting our food at the same time as a table that came 30 minute after us! We did have a complimentary brownie which was alright (no picture because we just wanted to finish eating and leave).

Nice place where we tried their brunch! The spaghetti with truffle sauce was delicious. The cheeseburger was good (a little soggy) and their chicken and waffle was tasty as well. Had to lineup for 1h though because no reservations for brunch. Service was great!

My best friend and I tried coming here for the third time and this time we were able to dine-in! The place is absolutely STUNNING! The portraits around the restaurant adds to the ambience of the place. The food definitely lives up to the hype! The service is AMAZING! The lady who served us checked on us and made sure that the food was to our liking when we got it. Foiegwa is a great place to go to for BRUNCH!

Cozy place in a French style decor, service is kinda slow although the restaurant is not completely full. All dishes are pretty good, decent portion, the frog legs were huge not what we expected. The truffle spaghetti is very good but lack mushrooms, the fresh truffle on top was extra and the waiter didn't bother to tell us. The bavette was perfectly cooked but the vinaigrette sauce that comes with is uncommon. The place is a little tight to walk around and has only one common toilet.

Wow, great ambiance, stellar food, amazing service 10/10 The burger is nuts. Will get go back to try the fried chicken snd the rest of the menu

Been going here for years now. Brunch and late night dinners. The food has always been consistent and good.

We really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and decor of this place. Our favourites were Truffle spaghetti, Patê, and mackerel.
Unfortunately, our Crème Brûlée was served “raw”.
Lastly, one feedback, one of the servers was eagerly to take our food away, there was food on our plates and she wanted to take them away before we finish. After about 5 times within 10 minutes over 3 dishes, we were very annoyed. We couldn’t chat and focus on our meals, we were focused on her continuously returning to the table and take away our unfinished dishes.

We visited Montreal for a quick weekend and had one of the best meals of our lives here! The food is immaculate and delicious without being pretentious, and the vibe and atmosphere were perfect. The mackerel might be the best dish I've ever tasted. Kelly made our entire night and we will be back just to visit her!

Been wanting to try this brunch place because the line up is always so long and their food looks really good! Finally tried out their brunch for the first time and it did not disappoint! The dishes were full of flavours and i loved that they have various options, including sweet and savoury items, on their menu.we came around 10: 30AM on a Sunday morning and the wait wasn’t too long, maybe 20mins wait.i would highly suggest this restaurant to anyone who loves brunch, as their food is tasty and unique.it’s also located next to a farmers market.

Le lait frappé au Paris-Brest est aussi délicieux et je ne l’ai jamais vu ailleurs.

All parties need to be over 18 in order to make reservation and restaurant claimed that it is a liquor licensed establishment and under 18 not allowed. I tried to ensure the restaurant staff that my children are under my supervision and there is no way they can order alcoholic drink. It is unfortunate that we had to cancel reservation.

Very disappointed with their béchamel fries. They definitely changed their fries and they do not taste the same, the sauce was also thicker than usual.

Awesome service, food, drinks, and atmosphere. Highly recommend. The truffle pasta is one of the best pastas I’ve ever had. Caesar salad was excellent too.

Ordered ubereats delivery twice, it's good value because they had a promotion. Food is decent, but everything arrives cold, and fries get soggy/hard. Disappointed to see rabbit meat on the menu, as rabbits are the third most popular house pets. They are loving, smart animals just like cats and dogs, so I find it stupid how western people would accept to eat rabbits and not cats/dogs.

We have not been to a proper restaurant since the start of the pandemic and boy was it enjoyable to reopen with Foiegwa. The service was attentive, the menu has remained consistent with plenty of fresh ingredients. Thank you! And we wish you all the best! Support local businesses every one! Tip them generously!

Good ambiance and the staff is super friendly. The food is good. The only thing missing is vegan / vegetarian options on their menu. But the chef did make a vegan plate for me which was delicious, but just not having them on the menu could put off a lot of vegans.

The cocktails are worth trying.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. Most friendly and amazing staff. Went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The food was INCREDIBLE! The chicken paté was delicious. Don’t even get me started about the Truffle Pasta. All 4 of us devoured it. Most amazing pasta dish we’ve ever had. We will be coming back every time we visit Montreal! THANK YOU!

Vraiment très déçue du repas.j'avais beaucoup entendu parlé de ce restaurant, et pour le coup.je ne comprends vraiment pas pourquoi il y a autant de notes positives.
Le grilled cheese est d'une simplicité, je me demande même où est le fromage.le bouillon est salé et gras.
Je me suis laissée tenter par un cheeseburger avec frites.la pire erreur. Pas de tomate, pas de salade, pas d'oignon, pas de cornichon, pas de goût! Aucun aisonnement.le pire cheeseburger de ma vie.en gros un gros tas de plein de gras.et les frites: j'avais l'impression qu'elles dataient d'il y a 2-3 jours.je suis désolée mais Mc do à côté c'est 1000 fois mieux.franchement revoyez votre façon de cuisiner parce que là c'est abusé! Surtout pour le prix que l'on paie!
Bref.plus jamais!

j'aicommandé la soupe avec grilled cheese, leur celebre spaghetti aux truffes délicieuses un bel équilibre avec le gout de l'ail et leurs desserts: leur brownie fond dans la bouche et le cheesecake aux bleuets,

N'hésitez pas à commander la table d'hote pour 2 cest un vrai délice. Jai eu un pépin avec ubereats mais quand jai pris pour emporter le proprio a été super compréhensif.merci x 1000, jai hate d'y retourner:)

While it's not *bad* per se, it's also not great nor amazing. Maybe I simply wasn't lucky, I don't know. I ordered a foie gras, a cheeseburger and a Caesar salad.

Foie gras had a weird texture and was sort of bland. Maybe I'm not used to the texture but I have eaten foie gras all my life so I don't know what to think (and I'm French myself). The brioche was very good and tasted fresh but was drenched in butter.

On the cheeseburger front, the bread/brioche was great, the meat a little bit dry, but the most disappointing was the lack of condiments. There was no pickle, lettuce, onion or tomato whatsoever. Added some pickles myself at home. From other recent reviews I am not the only one complaining about this.

The Ceasar salad was very good, but I just wish it wasn't Kale since I strongly dislike this vegetable (I find the texture very fibrous and hard to digest). This is only my very personal opinion on Kale though so Kale lovers would probably find this salad fantastic since apart from that it was outstanding. Would've been nice to have a lettuce option, but whatever. The dressing was delicious: nos as fat nor thick as typical Ceasar dressing, which is much appreciated! The Parmiggiano flakes were nice and I especially enjoyed the crispy things they added as 'croutons'. Not sure if it was crispy chicken skin or crispy cheese but it was a great, original additional to the salad.

Cheeseburger: Viande de mauvaise qualité, pas un condiment dans le burger autre qu’une tranche de fromage, bcp trop de sel. Les frites sont froide, pas assez cuite.

Poulet frit: grosse nuggets humide sans aucun intérêt. Assaisonnement fade autant réchauffer une boîte de poulet surgelé. Les frites sont toujours aussi mauvaises.

Très très bon repas, tous les plats étaient savoureux et copieux. Bien sur ce n'est pas donné mais la qualité est là. Cadre agréable, service efficace, ambiance sympathique. Je ne mets pas 5 étoiles car la carte des vins est vraiment chère et il y a peu de vins au verre, c'est le seul commentaire négatif que j'ai à faire.

Serveur excellent tout comme la nourriture! Je vous conseille les pates aux truffes, les frites Alfredo, le tartare de bœuf et la tartelette au tomates. Petit lacune par contre avec le burger au foie gras.

Mais honnêtement j’y retourne assurer et je le recommande x100

Excellent food, the spaghetti maison blew me away. The service was pretty good, and the Maple Old Fashioned was a little sweet for my tastes, but the classic was perfectly made.

J'y suis allée à l'ouverture à 10 heures. Ce n'est peut-être pas le bon moment pour apprécier l'ambiance et le menu. La musique est demeurée trop forte malgré nos demandes de diminuer le son. Je n'ai pas apprécié ce manque de courtoisie de la part des serveurs-euses. Le menu peut être attrayant, mais si l'accueil laisse à désirer, on a moins faim. Bref, si vous voulez converser pendant votre repas, mieux vaut aller ailleurs, car si ce point, vous n'en aurez pas pour votre argent.

Had a great time and enjoyed my food and the wine, however my wife got food poisoning from the squid ink pasta and lobster special. How do I know for sure? She was up all night sick, and I got a text at 3am from our friend who was the only other person to have the same meal who was up sick and asking if my wife was ok.
They need to keep better eye on inventory because clearly the lobster had gone bad (probably was getting close to known expiry since they used it in a special).

Been to MANY breakfast spots in Montréal, but Foiegwa must be one of the most overrated ones. I'm not sure how the whole hype was created, but I've been hearing about it for a couple of years now, and finally got to try it for brunch. The place is small, which obviously contributes to the hype. The tables feel cramped. The food is really just OK. The quality is not superior to most of the spots despite some fancy ingredients. The coffee lacks quality as well. The most frustrating part about it was the bang for your buck aspect. Overall, if you live in the area, maybe it's an acceptable solution, but my experience was largely underwhelming. If you put it along other hyped up spots like Le Passé Composé or Le Péché Matinal, it does not even compare.

Very hard to choose only one thing from their awesome menu. Had the rosti with gravlax and caviar, so fresh and tasty.
Very nice staff and original decor.
A bit crowded so expect some waiting time.

Food was delicious, portion were small, no refill on 4$ soft drink, place is tiny and hard to maintain a discussion. The server kept pushing my arm as she was taking other customers order (the place is tiny). Overall 4-star because the food was really delicious.

Came here for brunch two weeks in a row. Consistently delicious. Chicken and waffles are crunchy and flavorful. The truffle spaghetti was so decadent (I just wish the portion sizes were larger, I want more!). Definitely recommended

The spaghetti is amazing. When you take the first bite and you close your eyes in ecstasy you understand why this is such a popular dish. The brownie is delicious. If the cute bartender was on the menu I would have asked for him as well

Hands down one of the tastiest breakfasts I have ever had. Friends of mine had told me about this place so as soon as I had the opportunity I went with my girlfriend. Very cute little restaurant in the heart of St Henri. Diner style, but with a modern french twist, you could say. The coffee was quite good for filter. The menu is like no other breakfast menu ever. With some classic French takes on breakfasts foods, you'll love it. The prices are slightly more than what you'd expect for breakfast but it is worth it. I had the smoked salmon eggs Benny and wow, just wow. Even the tomatoes in the plate were the best tomatoes I've ever had. Do yourselves a favor and go here

Go to Arthur's, l'oeufrier, l'avenue, green spot or luncheonette instead.

This was the first time my gf and I had brunch here. There were only a couple people waiting before us, therefore we decided to wait. However, after 15 min we found out by a waitress that the waiting system works by leaving a name and number. I didn't know this, but none of the staff approached me to ask my name and number even though I was obviously waiting. Having just wasted 15 min, I had to wait 30 more once my "reservation" was taken. Not efficient in my view.

I ordered the tartelette ratatouille with goat cheese and a fried egg. For $18 I expected something interesting and different. It was bland, and included precisely 4 crumbs of goat cheese and side of wet lettuce that doesn't make amends. Don't order this dish, or you'll be upset like me and stuff your face with Emma's delicious cupcakes right after.

My gfs eggs Benedict with pulled beef was much better. The potatoes were likely the best part of the dish. Still not worth $20 however. Seemed like the dish had been waiting for some time as the bread lost all its crunch and the whole thing was just soagy.

The service was good and food served promptly. For a better meal for quality and price, head to the other options mentioned above.

Poor service experience. Unprofessional hostess: a young girl, dark brown hair with tattoos on the arms. I am with my sister and mother. The hostess's first question, directed at my sibling and I: "Are you of legal age? ". The restaurant only takes 18+ because it's first and foremost a bar, so it is indeed her job to make sure that we are. My mother answers, obviously talking about my sister and I, "Yes. " The hostess turns around to look at my mother and says in these exact words, with quite the opposite of a positive tone: "I know YOU are of legal age. "

To say this to a customer is rude and unprofessional. My mother is well aware that she is over 18 years old, thank you very much (she's in her 50's). If this young woman said this because she did not trust my mother's word right off the bat and was trying to be thorough and integral to the place's license conditions, which is understandable, she could have said something reasonable and friendly at us such as: "I don't mean to distrust you, but I must make sure that both of you are of age because of our type of establishment (we are legally a bar). " She could have even asked us for ID and it would have been absolutely acceptable.

I'm not impressed, as a waitress myself, of the hostess's attitude towards the situation. Inappropriate and unreasonably snarky.

I went there for brunch on Sunday morning.
The service was very good.
Small restaurant so the tables were close to each other but clean and organized. There was a line outside of the restaurant after 10 o'clock. I guess mostly because of few tables inside the restaurant.
Way too pricy for what it is.
Coffee is not included either.
Super greasy.
Very small portions but the high amount of fat in the food makes you feel full quickly.
I won't go back since I have many other brunch places options on Notre Dame avenue which are much better values.

Cute little resto that's always packed. Luckily there's a farmers market across from it to help kill time. Make sure you go early enough for brunch to avoid the long wait time and to make reso for dinner if you can! I didn't have the chance to stay for dinner but brunch was delicious!

We shared the butter truffle pasta and man oh man was it ever rich for early morning but it was so delicious! Had to try it out after so many people raved about it. We ordered the brioche French toast that was smothered in sauce and Chantilly cream. The toast was soft and not very crispy. It was good but not my fav. Regardless, it was very filling for the two of us!

Our waitress was very nice and helpful.

1. Get ready to wait! We came here on a Sunday brunch and waited 30min! The service was excellent.

2. Perfect place for a chit chat with friends, it is cute and charming as hell (has a French café appeal to it)

3. Disappointed by the food a little bit, the Hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict lacked in flavor (but the other toppings were good), the waffle in the waffle chicken was soggy because it bathed in the overly sweet sauce. (As can be seen a bit in the picture!)

4. The pancakes however were very fluffy, voluminous and tasty!

J’adore absolument tout de ce resto! Les cocktails, les plats, les milkshakes, l’ambiance, le service.tout est impeccable! La cuisine est ouverte super tard et le staff est tout aussi accueillant et serviable rendu à cette heure. Bien hâte d’y retourner! I brought my friend from high school who I hadn't seen in 20 years here to give her a true taste of St Henri and of Montréal. She's told me since that she will never forget the truffled pasta and wants to come back just for that!

J'ai adoré Foiegwa, des entrées au plat principal jusqu'au dessert cetais DÉLICIEUX! Je cuisine donc ces dur de m'impressionner mais je vais definitevemnt y retourner et le recommander.

Foiegwa was a small, cute cafe perfect for breakfast/ brunch. Our server was so funny and honest about the best items without trying to upsell.

I had a hard time deciding what to get but had the ricotta pancakes. They were amazing and so decadent. Husband had the French toast which he loved too. Server scolded husband for not letting me try the French toast. Lol. Very funny.

They also had some fancy pressing machine for fresh juice. My oj tasted straight outta Florida.

Nice ambiance. Special touches to regular breakfast items. Good coffee. Highly recommend this place.
