Great supermarket open late on Sundays really family-friendly prices were reasonable you can get almost anything you need there I definitely will be going back

I went to this place mainly to get some bulk nuts and olives using self service.

Nuts etc.
=
Got almonds natural and peanuts at a reasonable price. The choice is not as wide as in Montreal nuts factory, and the prices for what I got was fair.

Olives
=
There is no bulk option for olives, and the ones prepared for you only reflect the price for lib/kg, meaning that until you get to the cashier, you have no idea, about the weight, and therefore about the price. There is nowhere to self weight. This was disappointing. When I found the price at the cashier, it was too high, so I gave up on olives.

Generally speaking the prices are somewhat at the high end, which may explain why the store wasn't that busy.
Opening hours are generous 8 AM to 9 PM - 7 days a week.

I would have given it 3.5 if I could, but since there is no such, I'll give it 4, just not to give it too low grade than it deserves.

First time checking it out today. Some of the food is expired, but overall some great items. The cashier -bald, either of arab or east indian descent with a black hoodie- was extremely rude. Won't be going back.

Prices are good. Place is not very clean and be careful to look at expiry dates as you’ll often find expired items on the shelves.

This is my favourite grocery store in Montreal. Even though I am closer to PA, I will walk extra blocks to shop here. Everything is already stocked (unlike PA), organized and the people working here know everything about all their products. Such convivial service, stress-free, clean, great music. My go-to store!

Bought several produce items, only to find that all of them were some form of rotten inside. Externally looked good. Not sure where they source their products but I definitely won't by trying it again

Owner/Cashier is incredibly rude to his own race, he will fling your groceries into a bag and not acknowledge any words spoken to him. However he is more than happy to chat up any French girls coming to the counter to cash.

Whilst they have a decent selection, prices are horrendously high, just walk an extra. 5km to supermarche du parc.

The variety of product is incredible, lots of gourmet finds. They are open during most holidays!

Awesome grocery store. Perfect place to find all the little things you wouldn't usually find in a large grocery store. They have lots of many different choices. I went in looking for one thing and ended up coming out with 15 things.dangerous store for your wallet but worth going.
Will definitely be coming back for more

I would have left a nice review of this store because the range of products is excellent. But the cashier I was served by had his mask under his chin and openly coughed in front of me. A disgusting display of disrespect to customers during a pandemic. It is still the law to be masked indoors in all indoor public settings. As this clearly isn’t being enforced at this business I will not be shopping there again.

Great place for fruits and vegetables and large array of herbs and spices that's hard to find anywhere else. That being said, the employees who work there tend to moody, grumpy, and sometimes down right rude and disrespectful. Every single time I've been there I've been slammed into by one of the employees without so much as a "pardon".

Super cute. They sell these adorable tote bags I've been meaning to cop. They're selection is large. Lots of organic, fair trade, artisan, and local fancy stuff. Best part is that their produce always looks good and is super cheap.oh, also their avocados are prime

Amazing selection of fresh and dry produce - fruit and veg is particularly good and great value. Stuff are ultra helpful. Their samosas are off the hook.
24 October 2020 12:06
Pros: they have a great selection of organic produce and decent prices.

Cons: some food is expired and they're trying to sell it anyway. Always check the expiration date! And the two girls working at the cash register are very rude.

Best grocery store in the Mile End. The owner is incredible and there is an amazing variety of everything in store.
25 June 2020 7:54
10 June 2020 18:32
Pay attention to best before dates! Most things that are on sale are just expired.staff has no respect for those that shop there.

I think this place is so charming, the staff is nice and the selection is just great. The prices are good and everything looks good to eat. I work nearby so I like that they have hot options like samosas and Jamaican meat patties. They fill you up and are so good. Also they are a dollar which is unbeatable.

Best grocery store in Mile End. Great selection of fresh produce. And cool selection of organic food from around the world.
07 January 2020 6:27

Love the samosas there; fresh and warm anytime. Bob (owner) is a really nice guy. It’s a little bit more expensive (specially
Fruits and vegetables) if you compare it
With supermarkets. However, they have a great selection of organic products

Great place to purchase organic produce and health type groceries. Slightly expensive, but they offer weekly specials on various products. Make sure to pay your parking spot! The individual on petrol in the area must be the #1 ticket issuer in the city. A REAL SOB in my opinion. Lol!
09 November 2019 14:52
11 June 2019 18:21
This place recently expanded into the old Inter-Marché space on Parc av. No comparison with the dingy, stale Inter-Marché. Variety is strong, place is nicely lit, prices are reasonable, good specials, lots of fine foods, vegan things, olives. Staff are nice, same folks as at the smaller store. This could seriously compete with PA, a couple blocks to the south.
15 March 2019 15:22
It's a very good supermarket in the area. They have fresh fruits for vegetables for a good price. Especially their bananas (0.39$/lb - cheapest I've ever seen) are amazing. Their samosas are okay, but not the best I've ever had.
03 March 2019 16:42
Since other people have talked about their eponymous fruit selection, I'll let all y'all know that this is the best price for Rise Kombucha 1liter I've seen so far. Plus they regularly have the 750gr yogurt at $2/5.
14 January 2019 19:55
Fruiterie prospers in the happy grounds between high-$treet organic and your average produce market. Fruiterie's "living walls" of vegetables are actually artistically beautiful. They also stock an impressive array of non-produce products and that makes it fairly easy to set Fruiterie as your all-in-one grocery go-to.
24 December 2018 10:32
17 December 2018 2:52
Amazing selection of produce, Bob the owner really cares about for his customers and his produce, amazing value and great quality.
14 September 2018 14:42
Great inventory but all of the men at the cash register can be moody, hot, cold. The employees seem terrified of them too. The women who work there are lovely. They must have read this because a few of us, their neighbors, have noticed they are making an effort - awesome! Revised after reading response from them below AND noticing a huge difference in the past few weeks. We your neighbors, all really love your store we see you’re opening up in a larger location just south. Congratulations! Hopefully bigger isles and smiling faces.

The owner here (Bob) is almost always working at the front desk and is always friendly and knows the weather forecast. Fruterie is a responsible business - they donate unused produce to charities around the mile-end, and they don't shred their produce unlike PA/Provigo (I forget which one shreds their produce). My roommate also dumpster dives at Fruterie and all the employees are very chill with it. Tons of organic produce (and a lot of it is unpackaged), and organic dairy and meat as well - a lot of it is local where possible. Like my friend Ceci said about this place on Yelp, it is truly "an oasis away from late stage capitalism"
