It is a bit of a small store so at times it feels cramped / packed.

Respectfully as someone who used to work in a card shop for 2 years+ in Vancouver and who used to play in GK in the 2010s who actually held it in high regards, currently this shop has questionable practices. They charge you 10$ for adding 1 more card and charge you a cancellation fees and you have to order more than 15$ each to be able buy cards there. Compared to other card shops in Vancouver this is really awful. We never had any of their policy and we were more than welcome to add 1 more card for the customer since it barely takes 5-10 mins to sort it out in the system/inventory. Also, if you don't please them as customer they will make you sign a waiver to not shop there permanently. There is a possibility that their system is not as performant but as a long time card shop I would have expected better.

This is for the response: I am actually fine signing the waiver since I don't really care about it and it would be good for your business. But it would be better if you would give a notice before and it would be better if the staff was more helpful and would explain what went wrong throughout the transaction (it doesn't hurt explaining the situation for a better understanding) since when I called your staff said there was a system error and I would be able to pick it up in-store and when I got to the store I had to sign a waiver. I am just recalling the experience with the transaction and the store. If anything is incorrect/miscalled, I would gladly talk about it about improving the user experience.

Les employés sont très ouverts et connaissent leurs produits. J'aime beaucoup leurs sens de l'humour. Moi j'aime bien cette place.

Lorcana booster Box 500$? !? Laughable. I understand the scarcity but this is a not a reason to rip people off. Other Local gaming stores does not ask as much. Some still went with MSRP value and thoses are the one im going to from now on.

Edit: yeah its 600$ now. 3 time the real price. It is not how the collectible card game works and never did. As long as they reprint the set to counter those scam price MSRP is still up. I dont care much myself. I just want people to know whats up, before you scam them, with thoses price. Might as well just go to toy ur us and get them at 200$.

Greedy store, the customer service is not at all welcoming or good. The only store in montreal that makes you pay a service fee to pick up in store singles lol.

In response to the owner, the reply you gave is very unprofessional and disgusting. "Just coming the day after after 3pm" is not possible for most people. This card store is only for the money and not the community defeating the purpose of being a local game store.

I just recently restarted collecting and rebuilding my old Yu-Gi-Oh! Decks and opted to shop from Game Keeper since they actually still have Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards over there unlike "the other store" I won't mention! I believe the first time I've visited GK was back in 2017. It was during the good old days of looking at cards in their binders (I miss those days, but I also understand why it changed)! The biggest and arguably best improvement since 2017 is the online store: it's MILES better than what it used to be! The selection is good and there's a lot of stock on very old singles.

The only criticism I'd like to give is about the "quality control" of the cards I order. They seem to be all over the place. Let me explain in details what I mean by that: I've ordered Yu-Gi-Oh! Singles three times in the past few weeks, and one order was pretty pricey (I don't think I've ever spent this much in Yu-Gi-Oh! In the past). Speaking of which, I know that that specific card game is pretty cheap general, but still, I expect at least the expensive cards that I order to come in "Near Mint" especially when the online store specifies them as NM. Good of them to apply a "Slightly Played" reduction, but it's only about $1 or a few cents depending on the card. With that said, I'm still very happy with my purchases and the orders do arrive on time the next day. I'm very impressed!

I'll keep shopping over there for as long as they keep selling Yu-Gi-Oh! Stuff, and I definitely have to try a Yu-Gi-Oh! Night. That is still something I've planned to do since 2017! Keep it up guys!

$10 service fee for the guy to literally turn around and pick a card out of a box. What a greedy store, especially when I can l go across the street to Face to Face games and not have to deal with that kind of tomfoolery. Shame

My favorite go to boardgame place! The staff is always so helpful and super nice. Their selection is huge and they keep up on the curent trends. They also have some squishmallows and a pretty good selection of puzzles.

I really had a positive experience here. The clerk was nice and didn't laugh or belittle me when I made it known my intention for purchasing trading cards was for investments rather than playing. Great selection of Pokémon and Magic cards. Good selection of cool Funko Pop toys too. Will be returning in the near future

Don't forget, they have a history (a quick Facebook search will show exactly how prevalent it is) of Cancelling orders after price spikes. "Stock issues".

I recently visited a game shop and was a bit disappointed with the experience. The store was crowded and it was difficult to navigate around the shelves to find what I was looking for. The service was okay, but not particularly helpful or friendly.

The prices at this shop were also a bit above market rate, and I noticed that the competitor across the street had better prices on several items that I was interested in. I ended up leaving the store and heading to the competitor, which had a much more enjoyable shopping experience.

Overall, the experience at this game shop was not particularly positive due to the crowded space, average service, and higher prices compared to the competition. While there may be other factors to consider when deciding where to shop for games and gaming equipment, these were some of the issues that I encountered during my visit.

I used to like coming here for Yu-Gi-Oh! Singles but about a year ago, the staff got greedy and decided to implement some ridiculous conditions for in-store singles, including a 10-dollar fee if they buy singles in-person for purchases less than 30 dollars before taxes. Which, combined with their high prices for singles, it is no longer worth purchasing singles there anymore. Also, unlike other stores, their entry pack for tournaments is just a regular crummy pack that you can find in every other location, not OTS.

I just left this store. Other than the clerk being unpleasant they charged me 10$ in fees to pull four cards. The cards themselves were valued at as much as the fee! I used to love this place but I'm going to shift to Face across the street.

I've been going there since 2015 and was encouraging small shop instead of going to "wall mart" (face to face) and today I was in their area and had 7 singles i needed for a random magic night with the boys. I was surprised to learn that i had to pay a 10$fee to get 7$ worth of cards, i wanted to buy a unfinity draft booster box and instead went to face to face to get my singles and my box. I simply cannot understand why they would do such a move anyways. I miss the days where Eric would work there and be magic friendly.

Great location, the guys are helpful and friendly. There is no pressure, we were in there for over an hour of browsing and talking and no upselling was done. Great place to shop and talk shop lol.

Pour en arriver à l’évaluation… 0 étoiles. J’ai fait une commande qui a été annulée (sans avertissement ou rien du magasin) parce que la valeur totale des cartes avait montée … d’un gros ~ 4$. À la limite je pourrais comprendre s’il y avait une énorme variation dans la valeur, mais annuler une commande pour six paquets de ramens ça fait absolument aucun sens disons. Si vous êtes à 4$ près faudrait peut-être repenser au plan d’affaires que vous faites supposément si bien.

C’est absolument ridicule et vous devriez franchement penser à vendre le magasin à quelqu’un qui a de bonnes intentions et changer de métier. Votre attitude même prouve que vous détestez faire ça, donc je vois pas le point de vous infliger cela à vous même et à des personnes qui veulent seulement s’amuser en jouant!

Needed a common that's worth a couple cents, however charging me a minimum fee of 10$. They told me to buy off ebay instead to save money. What are we coming too. Are we not a community? Are you not open to serve those who allowed you to be open all these years. This is the thanks we receive, making it harder for us to enjoy a simple game in time of inflation. True capitalistic store. Deserve to close.

Speaking of MTG here. Good selection of cards, decent prices, terrible service. Lose the attitude a bit it's terrible for your business.

I'll be going to face to face as much as I can from now on before coming back here.

Came to check stock. Since I usually go to FacetoFace (in front of them on the same street), I thought id try them out.
They laughed at every product I named and when asked if they have older stuff sealed, they answered: "Yeah and its too expensive. "

Déplorable et Décevant. Game Keeper est un magasin reconnu pour son grand choix de produit. Néanmoins, le service à la clientèle, surtout la gestion des tournois par le gérant est vraiment déplorable. Je tiens à nommer que les employés font un bon travail. Néanmoins, leur attitude et leur service à la clientèle est plutôt froid et peu accueillant pour la majorité d'entre eux. Concernant le gérant, celui-ci s'occupe très mal des évènements de cartes. Par exemple, lors du récent Otakuthon, celui-ci a donné très peu de prix au joueurs alors que nous étions 30 joueurs à être inscrits. Les règles et les prix du tournoi changeaient à chaque cinq minutes. Je tiens à dire que c'est aucunement la faute du staff, car il écoutait les consignes pas claires du gérant. Lorsque j'ai voulu lui parler, il m'a ignoré cinq fois. Quel manque de professionnalisme de sa part. Beaucoup de joueurs m'ont nommé avoir été déçu de cette expérience alors que le but d'un card shop est le contraire; Attirer les joueurs dans l'univers des cartes. Bref, je pourrais aussi parler de leur gestion de gros événements et d'autres trucs, mais je pense que cela suffit. Encore une fois, c'est le gérant qui doit changer sa manière de considérer les joueurs et j'espère que cela va arriver un jour.

Shopping here is never a great experience. The staff makes you feel like a nuisance in store, and they won't sell you singles unless you order them online in advance or pay an "experts fee" of $10.

I used to make a habit of stopping by here to support the little guy, but I'll be buying my cards from Facetoface from here on out.

Terrible place to shop. If you like your orders being cancelled and having the price jacked up by a minimum of 33% forcing you to re-order at a marked up price. I’d avoid this shop as much as you can. This is also the second time this happens. As far as staff goes, I’ve never had any problems.

Fix this issue and I can recommend the store.

Came to the shop for the first time with my friends looking for Pokémon cards having only recently gotten into them. Guy kept interrupting us, making us feel as if we don’t know anything and being overly sarcastic. Asked for the price of a couple of cards just told me to check the site (which is really unclear to tell which card is which in real life). Once the cards where bought guy goes around taking the card in his hands tossing between his fingers out of the sleeve. Store seems cool. Whoever that guy was sucked. Not going bad unfortunately found better stores out there who helped us learn more about the Pokémon card game in a friendly manner.

Was missing a sheet of tiles for a game I'd bought four years ago but not opened; I finally took it to them in the hopes they could contact the manufacturer; within three days the missing parts are in the mail. Great service; have always enjoyed going to this store.

I always find what I'm looking for when it comes to my miniature painting. The staff is always willing and able to help. Great gaming store.

Alright Soo at this point I'm a regular! And I honestly love it there! They are EXTREMELY helpful! I love going there cause the workers and the owner have a great sense of humor! I always recommend to my friends!

Was looking for singles and they were the only card shop in Montreal that had all the cards I needed but the service was terrible. Online services were complex and when we called they were not helpful. When we went in store to pick up our order the employee behind the counter was extremely rude. First card shop with rude staff I've encountered. Won't be going back.

But I feel everytime I walk in, the staff has a very unhappy face, and rather not deal with you. Unless of course you are a friend, which they'll happily talk to and make you wait.
Not all staff are this way.

J'ai toujours aimé ce magasin, ils ont beaucoup de choix, des bons prix et le staff est sympathique mais je trouve la récente façon de faire de charger un frais additionnel de 10$ pour nous préparer une liste de cartes à l'unité en magasin complètement ridicule. Je fréquente plusieurs boutiques de ce genre et je fais souvent des achats spontanés et je n'ai vu ça nulle part ailleurs.

Je compte continuer d'encourager le Gamekeeper dans le futur mais ça ne se produira pas tant que cette façon de faire sera là. À ce moment, je remettrai mon avis précédent de 5 étoiles.

Great selection of booster packs! My first buy was a double master Vip pack and I got nice cards. They are very helpful and have a tidy store.

Je ne recommende pas se magasin aller au magasin Face à Face juste devant. Je regrette de ne pas avoir regarder les avis avant d'aller acheter des marchandises. Ils vendent leurs produit au dela du prix sur le marché, j'ai payer 20$ de plus pour le même produit vendu dans d'autre magasin du genre. Je recomande donc le magasin Face à Face qui se situe juste devant pour ne pas vous faire avoir par ce magasin qui profite de la naiveté des gens.

This store has provided me not only with some magic the gathering cards but also many laughs and incredible stories over the years.

A small shop but alot of personality to it. They have alot of cards that you would have a hard time finding at other card shops from my experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful as well!

I usually love this shop and people that work there are really nice except for one person, the older man with the glasses and grey hair. I must go there 2-3 times a week and spend at least 200-300 a month there if not more, but every time I go there while this man is working he will give the worst customer service possible, this guy is just very disrespectful and doesn't seem to care at all. First off he will never go out of his way to help you even if you're the only customer in the store at that moment. Second he never sleeves nor bags cards or even asks and legit gives them straight to you (you have to ask). Third he doesn't know the first thing about card grading. I would look at the cards for imperfections before purchasing and he'd always looks at me condescendingly while I do so, if I reply that the card (s) have/has imperfections (such as dents or scratches) he will just ignore what I said and proceed to call the card (s) near mint despite me showing him the imperfections and he'll say that if I didn't want it/them it's fine (But I did want the card (s) but wouldn't pay near mint price for a light or moderately played card also who's to say he wouldn't sell the cards as near mint to another customer who didn't properly inspect the cards before purchasing.) I wish this store would value customer service more especially for regulars who supported them throughout these tough times.

Your response is as I would expected it to be. Calling me arrogant. Is that what you think of a regular/longtime customer? First I have never asked for a discount at your store, I just point out the damage when I see it. The fact is you were trying to sell me a damaged card as near mint, please do not distort the truth to make yourself look better. Two days before that encounter I came to the shop with my girlfriend to invest in a very expensive card which is worth about 2000$ not just a 12$ card, that day you, the owner, were rude to both me and my girlfriend. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR EXPENSIVE CARDS. I will gladly shop at facetoface.com if that is your recommendation and I would recommend others to do the same:)

J'ai visité Game Keeper Verdun le lundi 1er mars 2021 avec l'intention d'acheter certains produits spécifiques du TCG Pokemon (2 dernières séries sorties, Vivid Voltage et Shining Fates). Le commis qui m'a accueilli était très professionnel et sympathique, mais alors que j'hésitais face à leurs prix largement enflés, après que le commis m'ait lui-même confirmé qu'ils achetaient leurs marchandises de Pokemon Company directement, un autre vendeur (pas le propriétaire selon le commis) a coupé la discussion, alors que personne ne lui avait demandé son avis, afin de dire que "ce n'était pas un Walmart ici" et qu'il avait des employés à payer et que c'était le prix du marché, et le tout de façon très condescendante. Je suis très au courant du Hype autour des produits Pokemon TCG en ce moment et c'est correct de vendre au prix que vous voulez, rien ne nous oblige à acheter, mais je crois que le manque flagrant de professionnalisme et de manière dans la façon dont cet individu réponds aux clients, et la façon dont cette boutique répond aux mauvais commentaires en général (le client à toujours tord), est nocive et enfantine. Dommage, je n'ai pas acheté et ne retournerai pas dans cette boutique.

For the south west side of Montreal theses guys have a great collection of games. Their prices tend to be just under that of MSRP. And they do tend to have games on hand that are otherwise hard to find.

Had a good variety of cards, the employes were nice but the one i think is the owner, is very unprofessional, gave us wrong prices until we went on their own website to show him the actual prices. If we asked him questions, it felt like I was the one that had to work, I asked for a card price, he told me to go check on the website myself. If i asked to see this specific playmat on their binder, he told us to go get it ourselves and find the number. Overall not a superb experience.

La place pour les jeux de société à Verdun. Seul point négatif, la configuration du magasin est très étroite. Lorsqu'il y a une dizaine de clients, on se pile un peu sur les pieds.

J'y suis allé pour acheter un jeu de plateau, un vendeur du magasin à pris les devants pour passer du temps avec moi et m'expliquer avec passion les choix qui s'offraient à moi. Un très bon service, une bonne sélection et des prix corrects!

Perfect place to find a card game. They have all kind of game for kid or adults it is the place to go if you need to spice your evening your party they also have game for ypur date night

It's a small game shop that has quite the variety of games and puzzle. The costumer service wasn't that great. The website had the list of items, but the inventory isn't updated. You need to call to make sure they have the item that you want in store.

The owner is unprofessional, they do not respect their own price tags (often spike the price) the grading is poorly made. Don't shop at Gamekeeper Verdun

Amazing experience so far. I called the store before leaving home, just to check the item's availability and they reserved the item for me. I'll become a frequent customer for sure:)

Aucun respect des commandes effectués via internet, vous allez toujours payer le prix le plus cher pour les carte peux impore ai vous les avez acheter moins cher ou plus cher en ligne. Ensuite, le gérant vous insulte lorsque vous essayez de raisonner et vous envoie lire les fameuse "politiques" sur son site web. Très déçu de cette place et déconseille fortement si vous tenez à avoir des cartes de qualité à prix raisonnable.

Un service extraordinaire!
Il y a deux semaines nous sommes entrés pour avoir de l'info sur des jeux en disant que nous n'avions pas emporté nos porte-feuilles. L'employé nous a quand même accordé tout le temps nécessaire. Nous sommes donc retournés acheter les jeux proposés. Hier j'ai appelé pour faire livrer un jeu à ma fille comme on envoi des fleurs. Bien que ce ne soit pas dans leur service habituel, ils ont accepté ma demande et ont rendu une fille très heureuse! Merci à vous!
