Ganadara (Mackay)

A steamed restaurant. It's really delicious. Poutine tteokbokki, ramen, and tteok skewers are really delicious. This is the most memorable restaurant in Montreal.

Okja poutine was awesome! Fast and friendly service, reasonable prices, and tasty food & drinks. Outdoor wooden chairs were a bit uncomfortable but I suppose it's done in the interests of not having people linger too long!

Amazing service and amazing food. They’re so sweet and i always look forward to my lunch there between classes

Ive been wanting to try the small Ganadara for a long time and i finally got the chance to. I was very satisfied with the big one across the street and its safe to say the small one is equally as great:) the food is fresh and tastes amazing. Its also very affordable, i only paid 13$ for the noodles and 5$ each for the appetizers. Coming back here very soon <3

BAD service! The waitress is having a long face the whole time and she is on her phone instead of serving clients. I asked her to refill my water and heres what i got. NEVER being served like this. Even have to call her multiple times to get napkins and utensils. Will never come again. This is my first and last time.

Only chicken katsu is acceptable. I don‘t recommend <Sundubu- soft tobu soup> and <Ramyeon>. Korean owned restaurant must be much better for Korean food!

Went here for a simple gathering of friends.

Interior is small however it adds to the cozy ambiance, this restaurant does not take reservations but our group of 3 found a table very quickly (1400 on a Monday).

The menu has a lot of variety and everything was delicious, service was relatively quick. The bulgogi mandu were juicy and crispy on the outside, and complimented very well with the sauce from the rosé tteokbokki dish. The bulgogi ramyum wasn’t too spicy and the broth and noodles had a little sweetness to them thanks to the beef marinade. The buldak chicken noodles didn’t disappoint! It’s spice level is significantly higher than the soup ramyum so proceed with caution.

A couple of years ago I was impressed by the taste, the atmosphere and the service of the restaurant, now I went back and brought my boyfriend to try and I was somewhat disappointed.bowl half full, plastic spoons and not even a glass of water.what happened to Ganadara?

I’m not really sure, the staff is nice and the price are reasonable.
But the quality and dishes are so different from the old Ganadara restaurant that I used to go to!
I wouldn’t mind paying more for more chicken / meat in my meals!

They should change the name: it bears no ressemblence to it's former self. The food they served was cold and tasteless, the restaurant itself has no personality, and the service is bland. Extremely disappointed.

1/10 overall, a TOTAL disappointment. Took them 40 minutes to make ramen and warm (almost cold) dish that are not as tasty as before. Ridiculous they made client pay & tip before right after ordering. Avoid at all cost.

Total disappointment! After the OG was closed, i've been waiting 2 years to go back. Not the same menu at all! Tasted nothing like before. Never again

You must try Rosé Tteokbokki avec Saucisse. Their recommendation menu, “Dak boll” is also my favorite. I will bring my kids to try more menu. Great experience with tasty Korean food.

I tried bulgogi cup bap. It's really testy and fresh. And Yubu chobap was only 2 pieces but so big. I like Yubu chobap. I think the food is tasty at a good price.

I give three stars for the memory it carries, and I really miss the ganadara restaurant in 2011-2014 when they had real foods

Their service is great, but during peak hours you have to wait much more longer to get your food. Poutine has almost no fries: (I liked supreme poutine before but they changed the menu.

Food wasn’t has good has before and small portion for the poutine… also the cashier let a customer bring their dog

Was very disappointed to visit Ganadara after waiting for over 2 years. Nothing was the same. The ramen was lacking flavour and the dak balls were not good at all. Nothing like what ganadara used to be.

Vous decider de faire un restaurant take out et livraison, mais vous êtes pas capable d’avoir un service. J’ai attendu 2h30 pour une livraison Ubereats pour que ma commande soit annulé

A total disappointment.
Lack of flavor, so much so that I could not even finish my meal.

The “pick-up” option on the website is great, although I never received a confirmation email after placing my order. The only way of seeing that the order was successfully placed was through the website.

Bring back the original Ganadara menu and quality… or maybe change the name of the restaurant.

-Nothing like the old ganadara
-Supreme tteokbokki poutine in the old location had mussels, chicken and beef. This one had ONLY a little bit of beef
-The old poutine was twice the size, I dont mind paying more for it but that dish was no where worth the $18 price

Nat was very sweet to usshe was very quick with the service which I loved. Overall, good place to grab a quick bite

Food was bland and quantity for the price was not it. If you're going with the expectation that it would be like the old location on maisonneuve it is not. Had the supreme tteokbokki poutine and it was disappointing.

THIS IS THE BEST RESTAURANT IN MTL I’m so glad they re-opened! For now they only serve in to-go containers. There is seating inside but only 2 people per table.

Un peu décevant. Ce n’est plus ce que c’était.

Même s’il s’agit d’une place “takeout”, nous avons été en mesure de manger sur place.

Les caissières étaient sympathiques.

Les yubu chobap saumon/anguilles manquaient de saveurs.

Les ramens étaient bons.

Les dakballs étaient froids. Ils donnaient l’impression d’être restés sur le comptoir depuis un moment (faits bien avant qu’on commande). Nous avons demandé s’il était possible de les réchauffer afin de rectifier la situation. Ils ont accepté mais n’ont finalement pas été en mesure de le faire.

Le tout en mentionnant qu’il n’y avait pas d’achalandage à notre arrivé.

This is not the same ganadara we used to love. The taste is completly different and some plate is tasteless. Dak ball is way too big and not crispy enough. On the positive side, staffs was really nice and the service is also fast

I’ll review on the basis that the restaurant calls itself Ganadara, which used to be my go to restaurant.

The menu is largely diminished, which could be a good thing. However, my impression is that instead of reducing to focus on quality, they did so on the basis of reducing what actually made Ganadara delicious - it’s charcoal grill. The galbi is nowhere to be found and none of the meat has that charcoal taste.

I had the supreme poutine for a whopping 18$ (I didn’t even mind paying 25$ thinking it was the OG one), but it was a disappointment. No seafood in it except fish cakes, all meat is pretty bland, barely any cheese and about 2/3 of the original size. The sauce is still good tho.

For those who expected Ganadara, you will be disappointed. However if your looking for an Ok eating spot, it’s decent! I will go back to try the ramyun and bbq cup!

What happened? ! After two years of hyping up the new opening, this is sadly not the same restaurant and same flavour. The bulgogi ramyun had little to no beef with very little flavour, the dak balls were large pieces of chicken with so much coating. Disappointed as this used to be my favourite restaurant, but truthfully won’t be going back.

So happy that they are back, the taste is similar as before but not exactly the same…You can only take out and eat in the store if there is some place (around 10 places).
