Le chemin 'la chouenne' permet d'avoir une vue sur toute la région. La montée est difficile (compter 2h aller-retour) mais ça vaut le coup.

One of the best views in Quebec. The climb was not hard either. And the small cabin by the lake half way up is a great spot for one to catch one's breath.

Just incredible. Such dramatic scenery for a park out east! The trails are well maintained also.

This grading is not a reflection of the park itself but the way we were treated. We drove over 1200 miles to see the park after years of planning. Our first stop was at the Mont-du-lac-des-Cygnes visitor center. They told us that the shortest hike will take about three hours and the altitude along the trail changes by about 250m. We realized that this is not for us because of health reasons. They however mentioned that there is a trail in the Le Boreal area that is a short 1.4km hike on a relatively flat ground. As we were planning to leave, they asked for park access fees even though we didn't go to the hiking trail. In any case, they said we can pay at the Le Boreal visitor center. We drove to Le Boreal visitor center which is about 20km away and asked about the trail at the visitor center. They showed it on the map and also said that there are no trees along the trail to provide any shade. The weather was not cooperating; it was about 90F with bright sun. We saw people at the parking lot putting on sun tan lotion as they were heading to the trail. We decided to abandon the idea to hiking. At that point, they said we must pay CA$9.55 plus tax per person anyway for park access fees which we paid and left the area.

Overall, we had make two round trip "hikes" in the park from the parking lot to two visitor centers for a total of about 6 minutes! There is nothing at the visitor centers except for a small souvenir shop. We saw people hanging around at the souvenir shop and leaving; nobody asked them if they paid park access fees. We also saw people parking their cars in the parking lot and heading to the trailhead right away- there was nobody to check if they have paid park access fees. Overall, our whole experience was nothing short of an harassment rather than enjoying the park.

In any case, if you are not a hiker, just drive along the highway QC-381 from Baie Saint Paul to La Baie, which runs through the park. This will be your best option to enjoy the park which I would grade as 5 stars on a scale of 5.

A quick note- if you plan to drive in the Charlevoix region, make sure that you get a good car. The roadway is hilly with stiff uphill-downhill segments, and there are many areas where roadway grade changes by as much as 15%.

Nous avons fait la piste La chouenne avec des enfants de 5 à 8 ans. Longueur et niveau de difficultés adaptés pour eux. Très belle vue en haut. Personnel très sympathique. Installations propres et fonctionnelles près du stationnement. Petit magasin avec des produits de dépannage pour les campeurs et des rafraîchissements (boissons, barres glacés).

De magnifiques randonnées pour tous les niveaux, une vue a couper le souffle une fois au sommet (mont du lac des cygnes). Le sentier pioui est un peu difficile, mais il en vaut l'effort. Le sentier principal est principalement en gravier ce qui rend la montée beaucoup plus facile.

Vraiment un super parc avec une très belle vue. Autant le secteur du Lac-des-Cygnes qu'Arthabaska disposent de belles activités et d'un super panorama.

Superbe endroit maintenant aménagé pour recevoir n'importe quel poussette pour enfant.

Much less crowded than Acropolte des Draveurs and closer to BSP. Still a very challenging hike and the 12 km loop takes you along a breathtaking ridge hike.

Beau parc, mais.

Le camping est au creux de deux grosses côtes, donc t'a beau avoir fait 5 heures de route en espérant l'isolement et la tranquillité, mais à tous les 5 - 10 minutes le bruit des freins "Jacob" utilisés par les gros camions pour ralentir te rappelle que "Non". On a assisté à une présentation sur les ours et la naturaliste du parc devait arrêter de parler puisque le bruit enterrait sa voix.

Du reste, les millions de règlements de la SEPAQ nous force à naviguer avec nos kayaks sur un lac ou deux seulement, parmis les dizaines de lacs du parc et tu dois obligatoirement louer leurs embarcations pour pêcher.

Pour encaisser du $$$ on applique les règlement, mais quand il s'agit de surveiller les règlements comme le couvre-feu, tu dois t'arranger toi-même.

L'année prochaine on switch, finito SEPAQ.

We did the via ferrata for the first time and absolutely loved it! We did the 5 hour one (La Montee). Although it states it's at the intermediate level, we as beginners can still do it. It was rainy that day, and the slippery rocks which makes the climbing and landing more challenging. But fortunately we had the best tour guide Corrine who followed our pace and be patient with us:) we will definitely come back next time when it's sunny!

Superbe parc. Visité en août où la saison des bleuets sauvages bat son plein. Les paysages sont magnifiques et on peut voir des vestiges de forêt suite aux feux, vraiment impressionnant.

Très beau parc avec des installations de qualité. Le sentier du Pioui est spectaculaire, mais il faut être en bonne condition physique pour le faire. Le Mont du Lac des Cygnes est beaucoup plus facile et la vue est magnifique aussi. Si vous commencez par la boucle du Pioui, il faudra entre 3h30 et 4h si vous êtes de bons randonneurs et n’arrêtez pas trop longtemps. Sinon, comptez un bon 4h30.

Probably the prettiest park that I’ve visited on my road trip to gaspé. It was cloudy and felt like that you are walking in the clouds

Breathtaking scenery, very well maintained hiking trails and lots of blueberries to keep you nourished on the way. This park certainly has one of the best trails you ever hiked!

Magnifique parc.
Je trouve qu’on se lasse un peu plus vite de la portion brûlée.
Mais le sentier du mont du lac des signes est exceptionnel et vraiment à faire. Il se fait quand même très bien il y a même des escaliers et trottoirs de bois dans la montagne.

Supers beaux sentiers et un gros merci à Béatrice pour sa gentillesse et son professionnalisme!

Que dire de plus que grandiose. Le Mont du Lac des Cygnes est jusqu'à maintenant mon sommet le plus spectaculaire que j'ai gravi jusqu'à maintenant.

Beautiful park. We went camping and the camp site was clean and peaceful and only a small walk from the parking.

There are a lot of hikes to chose from and they were not too crowded for a nice Saturday morning in July which is a big plus.

Dogs are allowed on some trails.

The staff were very nice and helped us a lot with recommendations for hikes and swimming.

Would definitely come back again!

Génial! Bien aménagé, le service des gardiens du parc est très agréable, les vues sont spectaculaires, must see!

Il s'agit d'une de mes places préférés pour faire de la randonnée. Le sentier du Pioui est simplement incroyable! Les vus sont légendaire.
La difficulté est assez bonne pour que ça soit un bon défi. Je m'arrange pour y aller au moins 1 fois chaque été pour profiter des paysages.

We did the vía ferrata with the best guide ever Kaxin. She was super friendly, she helped us a lot through the path and made me feel safe all the time. I really hope to see her again when I come back in October because I'm definitely coming back in autumn?

Beautiful mountains! The sentier Lac des Cygnes is a must do! The view on top is rewarding and breathtaking! A long strenuous uphill hike, with a little mix of muddy/rocky paths and board walk in the forest, very well maintained paths! SEPAQ says that it might take around 4 hours back and forth, but if you go at a steady pace, you could make it in 3 hours. If you are in the region, definitely check this park out!

La randonnée du Mont Lac des Cygnes a un point de vue incroyable! Ce n’est pas trop difficile non plus.
Aujourd’hui j’ai fait la via ferrata. C’était incroyable! Notre guide était vraiment extra et l’activité hors du commun. Je le conseille grandement!

Nous avons fait le sentier le plus long et c'était vraiment le fun! Le départ est assez toffe (les premier km), mais là vue est magnifique. Charlotte a adoré la vue (la torture). En plus de temps en temps il y a de l'eau pour se rafraîchir

Did the Lac des Cygnes trail. Totally worth it. Wow! What a beautiful landscape. The paths are super well identified and easy to access. Parking is quite big too - although it was already full at 10AM. The Lac des Cygnes path is easy to access up until Lac George, where it starts to be more rocky and where stairs start. I would say it is intermediate to difficult, although not that difficult - mostly due to the constant climb. I would definitely recommend.

Superbe matinée hier avec notre famille sur les parois rocheuses du Mont du Lac des Cygnes au Parc des Grands Jardins de Charlevoix! Activité de 3h avec Parcours Aventure via ferrata… WoW, quel point de vue! Et quel défi sportif et mental! Guide impeccable (Adam, merci!) et organisation sans faille. Ça vaut la peine! À essayer et adopter!

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le sentier du Mont du Lac des Cygnes. Un bon dénivelé (480 m), et malgré qu'il soit classé 'difficile', la pente est progressive et jamais abrupte. Belle vue au sommet, évidemment!
