I just love this restaurant so much! With the pandemic situation there has been a lack of quality in many restaurants, but not at G&V! The price is more than acceptable for all the good dishes they serve in this all you can eat! The only "negative" comments I could make is that the menu is a bit complicated and lacks of descriptions and not every staff member speaks french, which did not bother me at all since I'm able to communicate in english. Staff is super nice and quite patient to bring all the stuff we keep ordering again and again! I wish I didn't live that for from Aylmer cause this is my favorite restaurant and I will definitely go back next time I'm in town! The "step in the main entrance was a bit hard to pass with my 100 years old grandma's wheel chair, could be a good thing to have that fix. Thanks for the great time and meal we had tonight! The sushi was amazing 10/10 for that. Their fried chicken didn’t have much taste to me, seems like the chicken itself wasn’t seasoned but the fried dough around the chicken had a bit of taste to it. Their fried rice was good but the green beans as part of the fried rice was going bad so it didn’t smell to good. The seating area can be cleaner, I went there 2 days in a row and the seats had food crumbs on them.
Nourriture: Super bon sushis! (Le plus important.) Ambiance: Plus que nulle ils ont un aquarium qui est vide depuis toujours ont dirait. Ils ont des hauts parleurs, mais je n'ai jamais entendu de musique en 5 fois. Ils ont même une télévision.toujours éteinte. Ha et le personnel ne parle pas français, ce qui est vraiment dommage puisqu'ils perdent des clients à cause de cela. C'est relativement cher pour avoir aucune ambiance (40$).
Wonderfull place, ive been going there for years and im never disapointed when i go there, the food is great, employes are great, you want a great sushi date night, its the place to go
La nourriture est bonne, les makis sont colossaux. GROSSE ALERTE sur la propreté, la salle est dégueulasse + odeur d'égout dans les commodités. Une petite inspection sanitaire devrait s'imposer
I have ordered from this place through uber eats a few times. The sushi is normally just ok when ordering. I went for the all you can eat menu with my boyfriend and the quality of the food was terrible. The sashimi was almost slimy and the sushi was below average, and almost grocery store quality. The rice taste like sugar, so the rolls are overly sweet & they are tiny. Not good quality and honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if the sushi is prepared ahead of time as it all tasted old. On top of this, the service was horrible. We waited a long time for our food and heard multiple groups next to us ask the servers if their food was coming as they also waited a long time. We were not even served water or any drink and felt like we were being a pain by asking the waiters for a glass of water. Will no longer be ordering from this establishment. I would prefer to drive to Ottawa for better service and quality.
Tout était assez bon, rien de bien surprenant mais c'était assez agréable comme endroit. La salubrité et l'apparence des lieux reste un peu à désirer mais en somme, le tout est resté correct
Bien, mais je suis allé là bas 2 fois et je n'ai jamais reçu les derniers plats que J'ai commandé? Pas très propre non plus, pour moi qui suis formateur en hygiène et salubrité.
I love the sushi and the place too the service is really good, specially for the server Christina but please give to her and the other server new uniforms they work with holes in her blouse, but over this thing everything is really well
Food is decent for all you can eat. A lot of the food never came and we waited a really long time for what did. $37 for dinner, 85 in total for 2 people. Waste of money. You’re better off driving to the places in Merivale or Orleans for better service and a cheaper bill. Would only recommend for takeout
La qualité de la nourriture est bonne. Malheureusement, le livreur Skip n’a livré qu’un sac sur deux et le restaurant a blâmé 100% Skip. Il me semble qu’ils pourraient s’assurer que les livreurs partent avec les commandes complètes. Aussi, en appelant au restaurant, pas moyen d’expliquer/régler le problème en français, puisqu’il fallait absolument parler au propriétaire qui ne parle pas français. Nourriture passable, mais service redoutable. Plusieurs commandes ne venaient pas et les serveurs ne parlaient que majoritairement anglais. Notre verre d’eau n’a été rempli qu’une fois. Je crois que pour 42$ on pourrait s’attendre à un peu mieux. À l’approche de la fermeture on s’est fait dire qu’il nous restait un « last call » mais le cuisinier était déjà parti de la cuisine. Bref en général pour 25$ l’expérience en vaudrait la peine mais présentement le rapport qualité prix n’y est pas du tout. En conclusion je crois qu’il y a de l’amélioration possible au niveau du service.
Nearly full restaurant and nearly no one eating. It’s like the girl working there wanted everyone to leave m. We left after waiting 45 minutes without ever having our order taken. Server/hostess was borderline hostile.
Is the first time eating at this restaurant, is not bad but needs some improvement like instead of those pieces of paper to order they should have iPads, you can see watt you ordered, watt was broth and watt was not, have pictures of the items you ordered. Sometimes is easy to order. I was having lunch at a lots of Sushi places but none of them bites Sushi Story in Vaughn Ontario

Total Rip OFF. If you order a platter, they substitute the fish for what they want. You don't get what is on the menu. Over time the content of the platter had more rice, smaller pieces of fish and substitutes. They have gotten super cheap and have increased their prices by 33%! In addition, they always seem annoyed, like you are bothering them. Horrible customer service for mediocre overpriced product.
Great sushi. Served fast and fresh. No order mixups like those other places. Chic and pleasant atmosphere. Friendly accommodating staff. Highly recommended
If I could give zero stars.they BLATANTLY DENIED any wrongdoing and gave me such a hard time on the phone when my 88$ order showed up missing 35$ worth of items. Refused to help and hung up on me. I can't even believe the LACK of decency and service at this place. Don't waste your money, the quality was terrible and the rolls were falling apart. If they hadn't been so rude and offered zero solutions I would have just ate the cost and dealt with it with no review but the audacity to deny that I even ordered the items that were missing when I have proof. I can't even.
We've been customers for a few years now (back when it was the Hokkaido) and our last experience was the worst one. Even though there were only 4 tables occupied in the restaurant, the service was super slow and it seemed like the takeout orders for skip and uber eats were prioritized over the orders of the customers ordering at their tables. The food quality declined drastically over the years but the price was at an all-time high and I can't see how it's justified; almost 50$ per person is way overpriced for the quality that the customer is getting. There's so much better sushi place at a much better price in the region. The majority of our orders were incomplete and that's for the one we did receive. Our last experience over there was the last straw that convinced us to never go back (also the fact that it took so long before they opened their dine-in after all the other sushi places; probably a way to make more profit)
The only reason why I'm not giving it 1 star is because our waitress (who was clearly a new one and still learning) was super nice and did her best.
Very bad service and food. They didn’t seem to care about an allergy and thus put all the food on a big plate together (yet the menu states to inform them of allergies which I did). Pushing people to share food during a pandemic isn’t the best idea and we felt anxious about that too. We ended up being charged additional fees for their mistake. Most of it tasted rotten. I will never go back there. The manager didn’t care about any of it. Really not anywhere near worth 50$ / person.
The food is good IF you can get someone to answer the phone to place your order! I only live 1km away so always need to physically go to the location to place my order and then wait 20-30mins before it’s ready. I’ve had to do this for the last 4 orders. Very frustrating. Wouldn’t bother except my kids like the food.
Takeout is too slow, disorganised, and dystopian where they won't open the door and you have to show your number through the window.
They will not open for indoor dining until the population is vaccinated. But as of now, more than 80% of eligible Quebecers received their first dose and 20% second dose. We met the threshold! Since you won't open, you've lost my business.
If you go on place, is nice and good (before Covid) but AVOID delivery orders! Have ordered from many places in Gatineau and Ottawa and clearly know what to expect for the price I pay. About 2 weeks ago we got for over 100 dollars what you will get for 50$ anywhere else. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! So 4 stars for inside dining and 1 for delivery.
Was great, until you try to call them or use their web site. If you call them, expect to have to call many times before they pick up. Their website is at best terrible. It looks like a child made it.
Service seulement en anglais, presonne ne parle français, la bouffe est dégueulasse, j'ai commander une aile de poulet et je l'ai recu blanche littéralement. Je sais pas si il y a de la farine dessus avant qu'ils le mettent a frire mais visuellement ça donnais le goût de vomir et en plus de ça, ça goûtais vraiment bizarre.service très long et les employés reviennent toujours avec la mauvaise commande à la table, TOUJOURS! Je n'y retournerais plus jamais.
Les sushis étaient correcte, le vin sur le menu n'était pas disponible (4 d'entre-eux) Puis la propreté des toilettes étaient horrible l'odeur n'avait pas de sens. C'est domage car il y a deux ans c'était super bon mais je crois qu'il n'entretienne pas le restaurant. Pour le prix ca ne vaut pas la peine
Disappointed with my order, see the menu bbq eel in my mind i will get only bbq eel cause no writing rice on the menu, but when my order come bbq eel on top of medium bowl of rice, pay $10+ only get 6 small slice of eel, seafood soup doest look like seafood soup, taste less like soya saoce taste.the worst japanese restaurant i ever come.i'm sure the owner is not japanese.
Nous étions 8 et avions attendu 1 heure et 30 minutes pour recevoir moins que la moitié de notre commande. La gérante nous a enlevé 10% sur l’addition. Bref, j’ai mangé 2 sushis pour 30$.
Le service était excessssiiiivement leeeeeent! Nous avons reçu une partie de notre commande après 30 minutes, et par la suite, ce fut une heure d'attente pour le prochain plat, et encore 45 minutes pour les derniers. De plus, il a fallu demandé à 2 reprises si cela allait tarder davantage.et à trois reprises encore pour qu'on nous apporte du thé additionnel. Bouffe pas très fine ou excitante. Et même qu'à un moment, on nous a apporté un plat que nous n'avions pas commandé. Bref, la confusion régnait.
This place is a fast food joint of sushi.some of it was ok, but then one of the waitresses came up and gave us trouble for not eating all the sea weed and rice around the sushi.my friend can't eat too much rice nor sea weed. She ate everything else. They threatened to charge us for the rice and non eaten sea weed paper.what's the price of that? I could see if we didn't eat the meat, but she just ordered vegetables not meat. I ate all mine. Wouldn't recommend this place unless you are really hungry and desperate for sushi.amazing its the only place in gatineau pretty much. Then again, there are not too many quality places in gatinau unfortunately.aside from some great ice cream and desert places.anyhow, wouldn't recommend this place. On a beer scale - its a 12 beer place. Need 12 beers to really numb the taste buds before eating. Its not very good at all. Spend the time go to Ottawa, it has some alright sushi places. (vancouver has some great sushi places). Not that i go that often anymore, but I used to.
The sushi is good there but there’s always this one Asian girl always on her phone and texting in plain sight. My boyfriend and I go there often cause it’s near by but It looks very unprofessional of her. She was texting while eating at one of the tables when we walked in yesterday and she rolled her eyes at us and brought us to our table. When we were done ordering she ignored us for 40 mins until the guy from the kitchen came over and took our papers. (It was completely empty when we went in too so it wasn’t like it was busy.) The place and sushi is nice and good it’s just the service from that one girl just ruins your mood. Like if you really don’t want to do your job just quit. (I think it’s the owners daughter or something that’s why she doesn’t care but still it’s rude to do that!)
Great service and delicious food. A little expensive if you are not that hungry since it is an all you can eat. I like that the servings are small so you can sample many different dishes.

One of the best all you can eat sushi in the Aylmer area. They have a great variety of staple sushi dishes and some creations of their own. The tempura is very good. Priced according to age and day of the week, and adult pays average of 30 dollars for dinner. Good service.

- Une bonne variété dans le menu.
Cons: - La moitié, sinon la majorité, des serveurs ne parlent pas français, ce n'est pas un problème si vous parlez également anglais, mais autrement, vous risquez de peut-être vous sentir un peu confus et impuissant.
- Quand ils ont beaucoup de clients en même temps, il arrive parfois qu'il vous manque un ou deux éléments sur votre liste, alors il faut le recommander à nouveau en espérant qu'il ne vous l'amène pas deux fois par accident.
Good AYCE sushi. The only one in Gatineau. They got the basics but nothing fancy like beef, squid or octopus sashimi like those in Ottawa. Also, much pricier than Ottawa.
Food wasn't good, just a little bit of fish, the rest is rice, waiters were friendly but slow, we didn't enjoy our time. AND on the table under plates we found a hair, we asked to clean but no one did that!
Not our first time there, since they changed name we thought about giving them another chance but nothing changed. Food is not good. Can't understand how they are that popular. If you want better sushi just try any other place, they are not hard to beat.

Always a great place to go to, no matter how many people you're going with or for what occasion. The Staff is knowledgeable, very friendly and the check up regularly. Prices are great for how much variety there is. Definitely a must-try!
To be honest the food was great. But the service.if by any chance you don’t like a plate and you eat the half of it, they will charge you at the end. The most crazy is when I had finished my plate the lady who came to pick it up started to look into my 2-3 plates that we had on the table and found a plate with 2 sushis left. She told me im sorry but if you don’t eat it I will have to charge you and the lady was the manager so she knew what she was doing. They also fired an employee in front of us.she started crying and everything well what a BAD EXPERIENCE
Pour être honnête, la nourriture était excellente. Mais le service… si vous n’aimiez pas une assiette et que vous en mangiez la moitié, ils vous factureraient à la fin. Le plus fou, c’est quand j’ai fini mon assiette la dame qui est venue la chercher a commencé à regarder dans mes 2-3 assiettes que nous avions sur la table et a trouvé une assiette avec 2 sushis. Elle m'a dit désolée, mais si vous ne mangez pas, je devrai vous facturer et la dame était la gérante alors elle savais ce qu’elle fesais. Ils ont également renvoyé une employée devant nous… elle a commencé à pleurer et tout quelle MAUVAISE EXPÉRIENCE.
