Trés mauvaise expérience. Sous classement de voiture sans nous en informé et en nous affirmant le contraire. Au bout de 7 heures on a pu récupérer à l'aéroport de Montréal un véhicule de la classe que nous avions réservé. Le manager de l'agence Drummond nous mêne en bateau, ne répond jamais aux mails de demande de dédommagement. Pratiques à la limite de la légalité.

Booked a car with collection scheduled for Wednesday 6 September 2023 at 09.30 in the morning in Montreal (Montreal IBM Drummond HLE agency) and return in Toronto. Car booked a few weeks in advance, directly on the Hertz website to avoid potential problems arising from intermediary sites and comparator offer portals.
On the morning of collection at 09.25 I received a text message from the manager that the car was not available and that no car was available in the HERTZ agency due to a recall of FCA Chrysler cars. During my phone call to the agency, the employee instead said that other cars had not returned within the deadline. I went to the agency and there were other people in the agency in the same state.
Obviously this situation, in Canada, during a family trip with a child in tow and with such short notice, created enormous financial and family hardship for me which I had to face with many personal difficulties. This experience characterized the holiday. I thank AVIS who did their utmost to provide me with a car (paying a decidedly high sum, considering the immediate need).
Obviously I will proceed with all the possible legislative and protection challenges and defenses that come to mind.

I forgot to inform the public that the offer had been paid for in full in advance, by debiting the credit card at the time of booking.

The crazy news is that I could receive a refund up to 90 days after the event.

I would also like to add that I am also a HERTZ GOLD MEMBER.

But are you normal?

Exceptional staff from management down to operations they made sure I was happy and went out of there way to accommodate my needs.

Hertz rue Drummond
On m’a vendu une assurance 30$, j’ai eu confirmation orale au guichet que c’était pour la durée totale de la réservation, on m’a vite fait signer les documents et ensuite sur ma facture, c’était la tarif par jour!
Vous êtes des menteurs.

Amazing and efficient customer service from Hugo and Roman. They made sure we had a good experience with the rental. The office was very clean and very professional, which is hard to find nowadays. Thank you for making our trip a good one!

Efficient booking and delivery of the hire car. Friendly staff. Car was clean and all in good order. Helps with opportunity to delivery back after hours

I had the same situation as Justin and Michal mentioned below - went to the office this April and was told that they don't have the car we reserved anymore. The agents called their customer service, cancelled our reservation, and transferred us to Avis also.

What makes things worse, even after a month from the cancellation, we still haven't received our prepaid money back yet. Called the customer service several times and they say our cancellation is still waiting for approval (took more than a month even when this cancellation is filed by their own local agents?).

I used to rent with Hertz quite often, the experience were pretty good when I rent from Aylmer or Decaire offices. Cannot agree more with Michal's suggestions in the end.

Placer en centre ville. Le véhicule est stationné dans un parking souterrain juste en dessous de l'agence. Très facile à récupérer et à redéposer.
Personnel agréable, par contre, personne pour nous expliquer les spécificités du véhicule.
Je choisirai la même agence si c'était à refaire.

The car wasn’t ready even after I’d signed the contract for it in the agency, I had to wait for an alternative one to be cleaned and a new contract made before I could get the car. Alternative car did not have a covered trunk so poor for security. I was told LDW not fully included in the rate I paid even though my email confirmation (direct booking with Hertz) said it was paid so I had to pay extra 12 CAD per day, still need to resolve with Hertz. I would be very reluctant to use this company and agency again.

Run away! Fuyez!
Un vrai sketch. Je loue une voiture via le site Booking.com chez Hertz Drummond Street, je paie avec ma CB Mastercard directement sur le site Booking la journée de location plus une assurance en cas de dommages, jusque là tout va bien
J'arrive à l'agence à 8h00 et là plus d'une heure d'attente pour recevoir le véhicule. On me demande de payer pour le 2e conducteur, car nous serons 2 à conduire puis on me propose de payer le carburant en avance car il est moins cher chez Hertz, je suis OK
Un personne me remet la voiture en me précisant qu'un choc est déjà existant au niveau de pare-chocs et elle coche l'endroit sur le document d'état du véhicule (à retenir pour la suite)
Je remets le véhicule en fin de journée, donc dans le délai prévu et je rentre en France quelques jours plus tard
Je reçois un mail de Hertz me signalant que j'ai eu un accrochage au niveau du pare-chocs, je réponds que non car le choc était déjà existant, pas de réponse de leur part
Puis je constate que Hertz me prélève le montant de la location sur mon compte bancaire alors que j'ai déjà payé sur Booking, j'envoie un e-mail avec un relevé de mon compte sur le quel apparaissent les 2 prélèvements, je demande que l'on m'explique, pas de réponse
Je signale le problème à Booking et à la réclamation clients Hertz sur leur site, pas de réponse ni de l'un ni de l'autre
Un conseil, si vous avez besoin de louer un véhicule à Montréal, évitez de franchir le seuil de cette agence

Apres avoir retourner l'auto 2 jours avant le temps prevu, je vois toujours des prelevements de la part de Hertz, j'apelle pour regarder ça, ils m'ont dit que le contrat est toujours ouverte, sachant q'un agent ma appeler pour savoir, et j'ai lui informer que j'ai retourner l'auto
Bref place a ne pas recommander.

Customer service was friendly and knowledgeable despite being short staffed. Car was decent although I wanted a newer corolla and got a older model Hyundai that was a bit banged up
