Herzl Walk-In Centre

Thanks to all the staff, from receptionist, nurse and doctor, very professional, kind and caring. I got an appointment same day, today, from 811, instead of going ER and waiting 6/7 hours, in 45 minutes I was in and out of the clinic.

Even with an appointment from 811, and no only in the waiting room…it’s been over 2 hours + and still waiting! Really! We been triaged a wile now, So what’s the hold up? Disappointed in the healthcare system. Quebec sucks!

Beware that they will ask you why you're there in front of everyone in line and the wait room can hear you. I heard everyone that came at the counter without trying to. Not very pleasant to have everyone know why you're there. Not sure how that's legal.

I went in for a blood test to test for something that I may need medication for. It has now been 6.5 weeks and no results. I was originally told the results would be available in 24 hours. Then, when I showed up in person to ask for my results, they said it would take 3-4 weeks. I then waited 4 weeks, and started calling almost every day. The problem is, the only option here is to leave a voicemail. No one actually answers the phone. You have to beg them to upload results onto your portal. Not only that, but I received a rude message from one of the nurses essentially telling me to just calm down and wait for my results. It has now been almost 7 weeks and I have no results. This is beyond ridiculous, and the nonchalant attitude I'm given when asking about my health is very concerning. I urge you not to go here.

EDIT: I had to return for the third time to the clinic just to get my results, a week after getting my x-ray. HUGE waste of time.

I had an ok experience here. My first observation was how indiscrete the secretary was - asking every patient who signed in to disclose what the nature of their appointment was, and then asking them to say it again louder (which of course the entire room overheard). It also would have been nice to know before arriving that regardless of when your appointment is scheduled, they triage patients so you will be seen at any time during the afternoon, evening, or morning. I was seen 1 hour after my scheduled appointment. The doctor was really nice, but she forgot to specify on my requisition form what kind of X-ray was needed, so of course no X-ray clinic would see me and I had to go all the way back to Herzl to get them to complete the form. I wasted a lot of time because of this small clerical error. I also still have not been called back by Herzl re: the results of my X-ray.

Be assertive if you believe you have a physical health issue especially if you have a history of depression on your file or else it will be solely attributed to stress and you will be recommended to a psychologist rather than a specialist without getting to the bottom of the issue/receiving a diagnosis.

Very rude and useless humans sitting at reception. Doesn't have basic courtesy to talk to public calmy. Then who the heck told you to keep a board outside saying open to public. Get some courtesy to talk politely with patients first.

3. Ensuite le doctor qui est en fait une étudiante ne parle pas très bien le français.pas facile de se faire comprendre.et à de la misère à diagnostiquer mon problème.j ai même dû lui dire de vérifier s'il y avait un hernis.
4. Ensuite, ai vu le vrai docteur 15 secondes.
5. Résultat: une requête pour un irm et une prescription de pregabalin.car on suppose que c'est une douleur neuropathique.
6. A qui vont aller mes resultats? Va til me rappeler. L'étudiante ne sait pas. ça fait dure.
7. Conclusion: évitez cette clinique. Prenez rdv dans un autre GMF.

I was refferd by doctor finder suspected of Ascites- cirrhosis.
I have severe abdominal and chest pains so that I cannot sit on a chair. I was seen by a student who did not pay attention to my chest pain. She gave me 3 bottles for stool sample. I brought the samples to
clsc where they where looking for requisition from the doctor they called the herzl clinic but there were only answering machine. The clsc printed a label for one sample and told me to put the others in the garbage. At clsc I was told this is messed up situation.
I was also told to call 911 at clsc.
I lost time and I am suffering with painful chest and bloated stomach.
The nurses and doctors at the clinic are not knowledgeable and rude. Even for blood sample I was poked multiple times.
I don't recommend to go there at all. 5858 CDN 5th floor stay away from this place

You can call at all times of the day and it never goes through. Making an appointment online is impossible as well.

Huge longer waiting times. Need to pack the lunch if you have your appointment at breakfast time

Waste of time, the staff simply doesn't care. The online website cant even get you an appointment, and if you wait too long on the phone the line will cut.

I walked in.due to covid this is no longer a walk in clinic. They gave me a number. I called it and it's for emergency only. I'm like that's not 911? They said no. They gave me another number.

Côté réception, elle a juste fait son travail mais le plus important reste le médecin.

My girlfriend has been trying to find a doctor for a while and finally this showed up. We checked the reviews but braced ourselves either way as we needed the help. But! All fears were unnecessary. We got there on time, talked to the friendly receptionist, sat down and within minutes had a nurse take her to the back for a quick checkup and taking a sample. Once done, we waited not more than 10 minutes to be with the Doctor, who was meticulous with his questions, answers to our questions and made us feel well listened, cared for. He got the sample analysis scheduled and said we'd get the prescription sent to the pharmacy as soon as possible. Two days later, it was there.

Outstanding service through and through. Will definitely return

Quant à Audrey, la réceptionniste, rapide, efficace, c’est une perle.

Le personnel qui s'occupe de recevoir nos appels est très désagréable. Peu compréhensif surtout pour les personnes qui viennent d'arriver sur le territoire québécois. Se permet de chuchoter à ses collègues pour nous critiquer et en étant pas du tout discret. Nous raccroche au nez, ce centre ne mérite même pas que je donne d'etoile

The Herzl Walk-In Centre is a covid-compliant, clean, and secure clinic. I have benefitted greatly by using their health care services and wish that more money would funnel into educating, training and retaining people who work in healthcare.
The Herzl Clinic is part of the Jewish General Hospital and has a teaching element. Meaning that, the nurses, doctors, and residents are always sensitive to providing the best clinical outcomes for patients. Teaching hospitals are fantastic. The fact that the toilets, corridors, and lifts are clean and safe suggest that the Jewish General Hospital does not neglect their porters, security, or cleaning staff, which is an excellent thing.

Nurse didn't send the prescription, and when I called to get it, the rudest receptionist answers and insists I'm wrong without looking at my file. Then she spends 10 minutes informing me she can't find my file, and to come in person. Once I get there, surprise surprise, my file was there all along. Unbelievable.

After seeing the reviews, I was very skeptical but went to my appointment anyway. My experience was great. The lady at the reception desk was kind and courteous. I waited for only about 5 minutes before the nurse called me in to take my information and guide me to the exam room, he was perfectly polite. Then doctor Stern examined me, she was absolutely wonderful, listened to me carefully and made me feel comfortable, she was very easy to talk and gave me the right advice for my condition. I have absolutely no complaints about this place.

The lack of professionalism here is astounding.

I had an appointment and showed up on time. They sat me in a room for an hour and a half before speaking to the doctor. OVER THE PHONE! They called the room and diagnosed me over the phone. Ridiculous. He then came into the room anyway to do a physical diagnostic. The whole thing was just screaming of amateur hour.

Another doctor came into the room and told me he ordered me an accidental EMG test and couldn't cancel it. He saw another patient but confused it for my file. He told me that if they call to schedule it, just tell them it wasn't needed.

Exactly how the reviews are stating here. The clinic has to do something with their receptionists. They are extremely rude. At the beginning, my husband and I thought, its probably a long day for them and something may have happened in the morning. But when we came early morning, the minute the door opens to public, they are already rude. It is unfortunate that I do not have their names. It is unfair for some new or other receptionists to take the same review. But we are always dealt with the same unprofessional receptionist who appear to hate their jobs at the front desk. The doctors and nurses are efficient, no complaint.

Je déteste cette clinique lour tout les dommanges que vous m'avez causé vous aller payé de vos actions bande d'incompétants rempli de gens qui abusent de leurs pouvoirs. Je ne veux rien savoir de vous je vais porter plainte j'en ai assez!

Im not interested in speaking to a nonchalant student about serious medical problems who keep saying they'll speak to their supervisor and call you back because they're "not sure". Avoid.

They didn't tell me until I had already waited in line for 2 hours that they, for some reason they couldn't fully explain, don't take international people for walk-in on the weekends. This was not indicated anywhere on the website, and now i'm in line at another clinic, waiting again and much longer than I would have if I had just gone to that one first.

Je suis allé tôt, j'ai attendu pendant 3h pour me faire demander de retourner à 14h45 pour voir le médecin. Le pire, c'est que elle était étudiante et m'a donné le mauvais médicament, alors aucune amélioration, jusqu'à que je suis allé consulté un vrai médecin pour récupérer ma santé.

Trying to call and make an appointment and suddenly the receptionist yelling on me and she starts being rude, what asked is just an appointment, hahaha such a joke, not recommended to anyone

I have been going to this clinic for last 3 yrs and I can say I have not had any bad experiences at this clinic. I'm sure the young lady has her days like every other human that specially has to tolerate a lot of ignorance. Give them a break and understand what they are doing for us. Thanks everyone

Le seul problème de cette clinique c’est la réceptionniste blonde qui est vraiment désagréable. Je ne comprends pas, pourquoi faire un travail en relation avec les gens si vous les détestés?
Le docteur Friedman qui m’a reçu est d’une grande gentillesse et d’une grande écoute.
Les infirmiers présents pour le triage sont aussi très aimables même si ils doivent travailler très rapidement.
À prévoir un délai de 2/3 heures minimum, si vous arrivez avant 8h.

I was there at 6: 30 and by 9: 30 they were “full”.
The doctor didnt ask me any questions, my naturopath is who saved me.
I had to call them, leave a bunch of messages so that they would call me back with my blood test results.turns out i had an iron deficiency, anemia.
Canadas health system is a joke. This clinic properly demonstrates that.

The receptionist has a nasty attitude. Although I highly recommend Dr. Eske, unfortunately I will not return.

I'm an student from India. I hate to say this, but our country clinics provides much better service than this clinic. I've been calling these guys for more than 2 weeks to get my test results. Every single time they put me on hold. I cannot see the doctor or get the medication until i get my results. Since I'm an interna6 student, i have to pay all the expenses upfront. And this is the service i get for paying so much money. I've never imagined that the state of medical system in Québec is so pathetic. What a shame.

This is a gem of a clinic. I was in and out (on a Sunday morning) within less than 1.5 hours. Had I gone to the emergency room at either of the 2 nearby hospitals, the wait would have been many hours longer for my painful but non-urgent condition. I arrived at 8: 45 a.m. Everyone who dealt with me - from reception, to triage, to the doctor's exam - was patient, courteous, professional, and understanding. I received excellent, thorough care, in a timely manner, and would definitely return the next time I am unwell and wish to be seen by a doctor in a reasonable amount of time.

Just because of that extremely rude receptionist (Monday to Friday, am) Throwing your cards and papers like you're garbage and addressing patients like she's doing you some kind of favor. Extremely disrespectful!

After reading reviews for this clinic i was a little shocked. But I decided to come anyway because I felt really bad. I arrived here around 4: 30 pm, and got really good and nice service in minutes. Thank you

C'était ma première fois dans cette clinique.
La réceptioniste était très désagréable. J'avais limpression d'être venue la déranger avec mes problèmes. La file d'attente était longue meme a l'heure d'ouverture.
Je ne reviendrais pas icic'est certain.

La réceptionniste qui m’a servie était tellement bête. Elle parle mal des patients devant toi et a beaucoup d’attitude. Je lui ai demandé d’être plus poli avec les patients car ce n’est pas gentil de se faire parler de cette façon. Elle m’a répondu que c’était moi l’impolie et que si elle ne faisait pas bien son travail ça ne ferait pas 15 ans qu’elle est là. Vraiment? Je suis partie je n’est pas été capable de l’endurer. Très déçu de mon expérience.

This was the shortest time I have spent in a clinic. I walked in at 8: 00 AM and I was out at 9: 45 AM. Think of registration (first time opened a file). Front desk was great, smooth and they were very nice and professional.

Waited for a while and I was called to see a doctor who was trustworthy, patient with me, asked me al lot of questions and answered all of my questions.

I had issues with my ears (crystal-balancing).
After dr.explained what happened and why I am losing the balance I was thought by the dr.how to do some exercises in order to regain the balance and dr.gave me printed copy of "how to do" exercises at home.

I was taken to the nurse room by dr.and nurse removed the wax from my ears with care without rushing it. After the nurse did great job and went brought back the dr.in order to check my ears again and dr.told me everything is fine and I left the building.

If there would be 10 stars rating I would rated 10 stars. It was an excellent and unexpected great experience.

It is 3: 15 PM and I feel great with my ears and dizziness.

Its like 1130 am and they are not accepting any walk in client.while the whole clinic is like empty.

Attention, les heures à laquelle sont pris les rendez-vous ne sont pas respectés. On vous demande d'arriver à l'heure, mais il n'y a aucune garantie que vous serez vu même dans les heures suivant votre rendez-vous. Le personnel a beau être bien sympathique, mais c'est un gros manque de respect de faire prendre des rendez vous à des heures précises avant de faire passer d'autres cas avant et de vous retarder de plusieurs heures.

Can I give less than one star? You would think a walk in clinic would be run to be helpful instead of misleading.

But while they advertise that they were open 8: 30am to 8: 30pm, this seems to be bunk. We arrived at noon to find a sign that said they were full up until the next day, and an empty waiting room. No really, one person in one chair, that's it. So so busy.

I had tried to call ahead to see if they were busy, but as the unhelpful attendant behind the glass confirmed they don't answer their phones and don't seem to think it's a good idea to let people know if they have stopped taking patients somehow with a message or something easy to set up like that.

No they rather it seems let you come half way across town only to find they won't be helping. Off to wait in the emergency line at the Jewish general I guess. Thanks a ton guys!

Update: Emergency was slow, but very nice, much more helpful, and generally that was a positive if not fast experience.

Someone really needs to sit down with the people managing the walk in clinic and work with them on their public face, terribly run. I don't care what the excuse is, if you're full up for the day you need to be letting people know before they try to come in somehow. It's not that hard these days to do that.
