Hilton Garden Inn Montreal Airport

Worst experience with a hotel I have ever had.and I didn't even stay there! On December 26,2023, I booked and then canceled the reservation within 30 minutes of each other. The hotel charged the FULL amount to my credit card despite it indicating that this was a PAY AT THE PROPERTY reservation. Additionally, the booking receipt also indicates that the reservation is FULLY refundable until 6/1/24. Again, I booked and canceled the reservation on 12/26/24. The hotel refuses to refund the money, citing that they are sticking by their original charge policy. It is indicated on the original booking receipt that this is a FULLY REFUNDABLE reservation until 6/1/24 and that it is a "pay at the property" reservation. It appears I am not the only one with issues like this. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS! They are difficult to work with and refuse to honor their own reservation policy specifically noted on the reservation receipt. I will never stay at a Hilton property after this.

On avait 33h à passer dans cet hôtel, la piscine était hors service. Il ne restait que la salle de sport.

Heureusement qu'il y a un bowling de l'autre côté de la nationale.

Service de navette vers l'aéroport qui est bien.

We were only there for one night because our onward flight was canceled. The service at check-in was very friendly, even in the middle of the night. The bathroom is large enough and well equipped, the room is spacious for 3 people (2 adults and 1 teenager) and has a microwave and refrigerator. The Chuttel service to the airport (exit 8) is reliable and takes about 10 minutes.

The hotel is in the middle of a commercial area. The pool is said to be undergoing restoration by the end of the year, but it looks like it's simply closed. The crew lounge is a suite or larger hotel room with no service or snacks. The food is rather mediocre and way overpriced. The hotel rooms are old and worn but clean.

I’ve never had such bad experience in my life. As of today. I was left behind by the shuttle bus driver who has no compassion for pregnant lady and very rude. I had to take a taxi to the hotel for $20. I’m talking about the driver on duty on August 15t, 2023 at 7: 15 pm. It was so stressful for me and I didn’t need to go though this being pregnant and after a flight cancellation. He skipped me among the 13 first passengers he was to bring and took 16 others then left me behind. I was so upset and have and arguing because I felt discriminated. Since I told him I will report him, he make up the story and lied to the 2 guys at the reception before I arrived to the hotel that I pushed him and they took his side. Daniel was very rude as well by telling me  « «You don’t push driver ». Luckily for me there was a witness who saw everything and the lady told them that I did not push him. I read about 5 reviews complaining about the same driver thank God. I will never recommend this hotel at all and you loss one customer.

Stayed there for 4 days.
The doors squeak so loudly you can hear it during the night coming from other rooms.
The bed was slumped on one side, they must not replace their mattresses very often.
Door to the room didn't lock properly, you had to really yank it to lock, that's not great for personal or belongings safety.
TV was an old tv with overpriced ppv, no method to connect to phone or other
Fruit flies around the room (we never ate in the room so must have come from the lobby or previous guest)
Cat threw up on the sheets and the cleaning crew practically yelled at us for it saying they'll have to throw them out. Wasn't even that bad of a stain, if you can't clean sheets maybe you're in the wrong line of work? What if it was a person that threw up, or that week of the month kind of accident? Same rude behaviour towards guests?
Overall not impressed at all, but I guess you get what you pay for.

My bathroom was slightly dirty (the bathtub had weird green and black marks) and my curtains did not close completely so I had to undress and dress up with lights off. Elevators make funny sounds when working, kinda made me nervous. But the staff are amazing, compensate a bit.

This is a pretty nice hotel, decently equipped, good service, and clean rooms. The kitchen serves pretty good food too, but unfortunately at a very slow rate (took them a full hour to serve my poutine and half an hour for the daily soup). Amenities like the internet are pretty good too. I would recommend staying here.

Great place to sleep for a night.
Clean beds, clean shower.
The TV channels are limited.
Service is good.
There is a wait line for the shuttle going to the airport, and it is first come first serve.
Primary reason I chose this hotel was for location and the shuttle, but at the time I went, the shuttles were all full before my flight departing Canada.
Uber was easy to get from the hotel to airport.
Easy hotel to get to via bus.

Superbe hôtel, le chauffage un peu bruyant mais le reste était parfait, l'hôtel est à 7min de l'aéroport. Le lit est confortable mais la tv ne marchait pas.

Beware! Our truck was STOLEN from this parking lot. We returned with our children from Mexico to pick up our truck from this parking lot only to find it GONE! This parking lot is NOT secure. A thief can take a vehicle out of the gates here and the staff do not notice! We are thankful that the hotel gave us a room for the night as our family was tired and we had no place to go (we live 3 hours away) and no winter belongings.

Charging me 28 dollars saying I watched 2 movies that I never did. Kids turned on tv for few seconds and we turned it off as all we needed was to go to sleep after a long travel. Never watched anything as nothing was enabled on the tv. If there is charge for turning on the tv, that was never communicated. Even if there is anything chargeable they should clearly communicate in advance.

Cleanliness was also bad, there were hairs on the sheets and the sheets were dirty. We called the room service to have the sheets changed.

The hotel itself is nice. Rude reception staff. Not accommodating (late checkout declined). No amenities closeby unless you like Timmy’s across the street. ‘Continental’ breakfast $19. Add a couple hot items for $25.

Hotel is amazing but airport shuttle is very bad. Don't stay here for the shuttle o airport you been warned.

Great staff, clean rooms.

Only thing I can complain about is the plug ins between the beds seem to be very loose in all the rooms I have stayed. Seems to be defective plugs. Most charging plugs won't stay in or charge if they are not three prong.

Nous avons pris une chambre pour prendre un vol très tôt le lendemain à YUL avec le forfait Park'n'Go. Ça en vaut la dépense additionnelle pour ce forfait. Grand stationnement clôturé et surveillé et une navette à l'aéroport toute les 30 minutes, incluant au retour. Belle chambre très propre avec tout ce dont on a besoin et un service impeccable.

Had a layover in Montreal and the Hilton Garden Inn was the best part of my flight. Customer service was excellent.

My iPhone charger and cord was stolen, representing a $50 CAD loss of personal belongings.

Zero complaints. Staff were very nice, has a bar pool and gym and provides a shuttle to the airport. A step above a lot of airport hotels in my opinion.

The staff is good and cooperative and it's good to stay in the hotel and they organize shuttle buses to the airport too.

This is a little overpriced. The only good point is the rooms are clean.
The tv will not connect to your phone (so old) and you just have news channels. The internet speed is really bad and you have to pay for good connection.

Only one night because I missed a flight but it was really much better than I expected. Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly and help staff and an insanely expensive restaurant. The lady at the the counter gave me menus for delivery that worked better for me

So this wasn’t a planned stay. Air Canada sends passengers they bump to this hotel. So already being in a foul mood I was pleasantly surprised with this place. Our room was huge with a king bed and sitting area as well as a big bathroom.

Everything appears well kept up.

Staff were friendly and there was a shuttle service from the airport leaving from just outside gate 8 on the second level.

Shuttle Driver needs a few honourable Kudos. Very friendly and provided some cool historical facts favour the airport and the fly fortresses flown by women in the Second World War as well as history of Montreal. Hotel needs to give him a raise as it helped take the edge off getting stranded a night in Montreal.

This hotel is not walkable from the airport.

Best hotel in Montreal for the families. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Coffee maker, microwave.and all the other items are available. Warm welcome with 2 bottles of cool water. Best receptionists.

I liked the fact that you can open the window, the breeze felt nice. The roads around the hotel are a nightmare to navigate. No real complaints though.

Clean room, friendly staff. Allowed me to check-out late which was appreciated with my late flight.

Hôtel très décevant. De plus, dans le cas ou il y a une problématique ne pas vous attendre de recevoir un téléphone mais un courriel traduit.

Pas possible de payer avec autre chose que crédit. Service à l accueil médiocre. Rigidité du personnel.

We usually don't stay in chain hotels, and I hesitate to give 5 stars, but absolutely nothing negative to say. Friendly staff, clean, well equipped rooms, fitness center and pool, better than average restaurant. If you need to be near the airport, an excellent choice.

J'ai adoré mon expérience. Par contre, la chambre un peu petite et la salle de bain ordinaire. Le petit déjeuner est extraordinaire!

When we arrived at the hotel at around 11: 07 pm we wanted to have a night cap before heading off to bed for our early flight in the morning. The response we received was that it closed at 11 and they couldn’t do anything everyone had already gone (yet there were still people sitting at the bar drinking). They offered us both bottles of water in the room which they then charged to our credit card at 2$ a piece. When we returned we took the shuttle bus which was absolutely filthy but the driver was nice. The next morning we realized we had forgotten a small suitcase in the shuttle with our passports in it and immediately called the hotel. They confirmed they had the suitcase, however my passport and husbands battery pack charger was missing. Unfortunately the hotel was very uncooperative to the point where they even lied directly to us stating the shuttle was an outsourced company which is a lie (the driver confirmed he was employed by Hilton garden inn). When my husband looked in the shuttle we used the day before, he found my boarding pass and his pack of gum in between the drivers seat and the drivers armrest. The shuttle had not even been cleaned.the hotel refused to verify security cameras, contact the employee that chauffeured us etc. And simply told us to contact authorities which we did. This was still a huge hassle and was the worst customer service I’ve ever seen in my life. It would have been easy for them to verify for us who brought the brief case back and when but they decided they did not want to help us even if there was possibly an attempt to identity theft involved.thank his the director Paul Cochrane helped us in the end and excused the poor service his employees offered and spoke to all these employees regarding the situation.

Nice hotel, would be better if there were surrounding stores and restaurants. The food & drinks at the hotel are good, tho, and affordable.

Toit était absolument sublime et parfait Le lit et les oreillers confortable. Les draps soyeux. L'accueil chaleureux. Les matériaux luxueux. Décor moderne. J'ai eu un très beau séjour. Cependant, j'ai été déçue par le bain/douche qui était très ordinaire avec la température de l'eau qui était modéré à tiède.

Not very impressed. We chose this Hilton since the pool and hot tub were available. We get here and the hot tub is closed. I was told when I made my reservation I would not have to pay for parking. Since I was a Hilton
member. Soon arrival I was told it was $14. Very upsetting. The front desk was no help.

The selling point for this Hilton Inn is it's location. It's far enough from Trudeau International Airport to catch a breath before resuming travel, yet close enough to the airport to not worry about missing a flight.

I'd have awarded the Garden Inn another star had the hotel elevator been working properly. I'm sorry, but a groaning elevator is not normal and generally indicates something wrong. I mentioned the noise to passing staff and was told the elevator had been groaning for a while, which did not inspire confidence in the hotel's management. The groaning lift became annoying when I discovered the noise was audible from my room a few doors down.

Otherwise, the staff was friendly and accommodating with our late check-out. I'd stay again, as long as the elevator is working.

Below average hotel overall.
You really need to be careful when using meal vouchers with these guys, the way how they handle them is really fishy. Even with meal vouchers, I ended up paying almost for my dinner knowing that I did the math before ordering. The waitress left us no receipts at all.she was running papers/receipts in front of us like a poker game then took them with her and she ended up giving us just the total amount to pay.after I left to my room, we did a little bit of math and I found things don't added up.and yes I used QC's taxes numbers
The worst thing is that the quality of the food is way below average and the staff is rude.

Clean, updated rooms. Short 5 min shuttle ride to the airport. On-site restaurant provides a convenient opportunity to get a good meal.

Let's start with the good. Good breakfast buffet. Clean washroom and room in general. Microwave, fridge and Kurrig in the room. Relatively close to Montreal Airport, Tim Hortons and Subway. Not sure if being within walking distance to Tim's and Subway is a good thing. Now for the not so good. Air conditioner/heater is like an open window letting all outside noise into room. This wouldn't be an issue except that the hotel is in an industrial area. Not a glass or ice bucket to be found. Could have used the paper coffee cups I guess. The elevators are definitely on the way out. They both shudder and make a horrendous grown when opening and closing. Hilton Garden Inns are usually better then this.

Rooms are very beautiful with easy access as a good shuttle service to and from the airport is available. Nice dining room with buffets service. Staff very professional and friendly.

Nice hotel, airport convenient. Not too far from downtown. Nice breakfast. Pool area and fitness center solid.

Fine hotel close to Montreal international airport (YUL), excellent shuttle service. Great cook during the weekdays (su-th) Breakfast could be a little be improved. For example the coffee is not very tasty, cereals and fruits kind of limited in choice, compared to competitors. The rooms are nice and kept clean. Nice facilities like gym, swimming pool, computers and printer, do-jt-yourself and have-it-done laundry service. Bar and restaurant personnel is friendly and service minded. Good choice of wines and 4 draft beers. Desk personnel kind and efficient. Elevator alas noisy and slow. Room heater is als very noisy.

For a stay near the int.airport, I would recommend this hotel for overall quality and comfort.

The previous one star was in error. My apologies because we love this hotel and staff. Very attentive with a fantastic location and thank you so much for the surprise anniversary treats in our room and the amazing recommendations for our anniversary dinner!

Really helpful friendly staff after our flight was cancelled, thay was very busy and still happy, if only more people could provide this level of service. Clean light rooms and a good breakfast. Didn't expect that will use Hillton Garden again.

We were booked into the Hilton by Air Canada after missing a connecting flight. We were welcomed by friendly staff and booked into our rooms within minutes. The room was small but modern and clean, and the bed - wow, what a good sleep! The restaurant was generous with the portions and our server was a happy fellow who kept us entertained. The food was delicious. Free coffee was provide for our 2: 30 departure to the airport. Overall, the stay was pleasant.

I spend a night here to due to a missed connection. The front desk staff were very accommodating and friendly. I wish my flight was delayed so I could have spent more time in my modern room and tried out the pool.
