Best bang for your buck Bánh Mì in Montreal. Fresh ingredients every day, soft bread. Only cash.

The specials are good but the pre-made “regulars” they make around lunch time are so lame. There were maybe only two pieces of veggies throughout the entire thing and it didn’t taste great. I wish they’d be a bit more consistent.

Just get the specials not pre-made.

Originally coming from a city with a significant Vietnamese population – I am well-versed on what an authentic Banh Mi should be like. This is without doubt the best Banh Mi I have found in Montreal thus far. Hours are short so this is a lunch stop. Once I walked in I saw everything I had to see to have confidence in the authenticity of this sandwich. Baguettes were fresh and not crumbly. They used the right type of pate, a detail other Banh Mi places are happy to skip. They actually used daikon as well which you don’t find commonly but I really enjoyed how it beefed up the volume of the sandwich. A dash of sauce would have been nice but overall the flavours were superbly balanced. Price point was right as well.

This sandwich shop makes the absolute MOST DELICIOUS Bánh mì in Montreal! Hands down!

They have the freshest and most tasty shredded and grilled chicken options that you can get either spicy or not. The flavours are really out of this world.

Their family run business is really friendly, fast, and efficient.

I honestly can't say enough about how delicious their sandwich options are! They also have other traditional Vietnamese treats and food options that I'm sure are like a taste of home for those seeking authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

And I love that they only take cash and have one of the most loyal customer base in town!

Thank you Hoang Oanh Sandwiches team for so many years of the best sandwiches in town <3

Wanted to try this banh mi shop after my friend said her childhood fave had closed down. Maybe I'm just not used to it, but compared to Nguyen Huong, my childhood fave in Toronto, this place isn't as good for the cold cut banh mi. The meat is sliced too thinly for my liking, and the pickles felt kind of hollow when you bit into them (not crunchy enough, but more airy). However I did like the fresh bread and the prices are closer to what you'd expect a banh mi to cost. If you ever pay more than $6-7 for a banh mi you're getting ripped off. They also do have so many other possible fillings (although cold cuts reign supreme) so maybe the other meats are more substantial

I do not recommend here. Horribleservice, I ad a simple question and the tone the lady used was not very welcoming. Their attitude towards my family and I was not nice. Before ordering I also asked for separate bags for the bunch I ordered, and they agreed since I ordered 20 Bánh mi Later they put them all together only 1 bag, I’m very surprised and I asked nicely if they could separate them like I asked before and they told me very unpolite would be an extra charge of $1 for each bag, in a rudely manner. They did not tell me this beforehand. They’re not that good either.

I can never follow the local taste of Vietnam, but considering the price, I think I ate well.

Bonne sandwich, personnel très gentil, bonne sélection (incluant dessert!). Je dois avoir que la seule bémole est la quantité de garniture à l'intérieur des sandwich.

First time trying banh mi here. I like how they use the longer bread. If only it could be toasted! Makes a big difference in taste.

Great food and fast service, but it is a cash only place so remember to bring cash if you're headed there.

I've been going to this place for a long time, for 7$ it's usually decent and convenient. I like to support local business when I can, but unfortunately I cannot support this business anymore. They have gotten so stingy with ingredients, there is barely any meat, sauce or veggies in the sadwich! And to top it off today they served me STALE BREAD!

J’ai mangé pour quelques fois et j’aime le sandwich ici. Le flavor de carrot est vraiment bon.

The sandwich is average in my mind. I am saying this after we picked one up at marché hung phat. Cheaper, yummier and more choices for $6, including the premium meat one.

My favorite viet sandwich place in Montreal.
Grilled chicken and the regular Banh mi are my go to sandwiches. I've been buying them for 20+ years, for real.

The bread/filling is what makes this place #1 compared to other viet sandwiches.
The bread is light, thin and long, with a crunchy exterior, a soft white interior and a chewy texture, approx 8inches.
I find other Banh mi places often have too much bread and not enough filling.

The fillings are also very awesome. The chicken is always so delicious with whatever sauce its marinated in, never dry.
The regular is a great simple sandwich, light and buttery with yummy cold cuts and some crunch. I often have the regular as a snack or 1 and a half for lunch.

Cost is around 6$ for regular and 7.50$ for the special sandwiches. Prices may go up again due to food costs and inflation.

They do give out cards for a free sandwich after you buy 10. Red stamps for all specialty sandwiches and blue for regular.
I can't tell you how many times I've found an old stamp card and used it years later

Easily top 3 banh mi spot in Montreal
The vegetarian options are incredible, and the people there are very lovely

Bad service. The lady answered very rudely when we asked about the amount and paying in US dollars. She could have explained in a nicer way, or at least a normal way, without the attitude.

Most authentic Vietnamese sandwiches. Not over stuffed with meat, balanced with veggies (and do chua/pickles), rich with butter, and the best part: the soft bread. Can’t wait to go back.

Also, I got the banh bao (white buns stuffed with pork, sausage and eggs and it was damn good) and it was DELICIOUS AND AUTHENTIC (my family used to sell these when we first went to USA). The meat mix was very peppery and tasty and there was more than one slice of Chinese sausage in there which was a treat!

No-frills banh mi restaurant that is very cheap (cash only) and with high quality dac biet sandwich. The bread was crispy on the outside and fluffy/chewy on the inside, the balance between the meat and vegetables was well-done, and it is made in front of you. Will come back to try other sandwiches!

Cash only, prices include tx for simplicity.

I've been coming here since I was a kid. Prices of course have increased since then but are still pretty cheap. A classic banh mi will set you back 5.50 tx in and you get a stamp card buy 10 get 1 free. They've had this forever, since I can remember 25 years ago at least.

It always tastes good, they sell other stuff like deserts and other smaller things. If you're looking for a good ol traditional style banh mi, I've never been let down from here!
