Typical Holiday Inn, Good room, Good service. Check In and Out was easy. We booked standard room but since it was busy they offered us a conference suite with the bedroom which i was ok with. There is plenty of parking on site. There is an indoor pool, and the timings are 7am till 10pm. Good location, there are some good restaurants, malls and shopping plazas nearby. Alyccia was very polite on the front desk. There is a public transit station next to the hotel.
Clean and convenient. Friendly and helpful service. Many amenities, including laundromat, very good breakfast, swimming pool, and more. Only 2 downsides: 1. There are only 2 very slow elevators, and you can't take the stairs from the rez-de-chaussée level. 2. There is only 1 working ice machine. It is on the second floor. This was quite annoying given my point 1 above when my room was on the 5th floor
Facile d'accès. Propre et confortable. Bon rapport qualité-prix.
Not the best holiday inn really. It is a dated hotel. Also when we arrived at hotel one elevator was not working. Took 10 minutes to get to room. Once at room, keys did not work. Called hotel they said someone will bring keys. 10 mins later got keys. Once in room, toilet was leaking water (must have been all day) and tank would not fill. Spoke with the receptionist was around 5pm. They said they wil fix it. Left to go out, came back at 1am still leaking. Called down to receptionist but she said no maintenance service at this hour. Have to wait to the following morning. So I decided to take matters in my own hands and fix it myself. Took the components apart and repaired it myself. Beyond that, stay was ok. Elevators are extremely slow but hotel was full. I would not stay there again although it is a good location.
I'm IHG platinum and soon Diamond. I appreciate the Brand and expect a certain minimum from the Hotels within the chain.
To start I have to mention that generally the front of the Hotel and corridors look like a dump. I mean literally rubbish bin outside are overflowing, there are stain everywhere on the carpets, empty water bottles, rubbish and piece of rubbish everywhere in hallways. This property is not up to IHG standard and I suggest the company reconsider letting the owner operate under the brand.
Beds are comfy, place is well located service is good and welcoming. However there is no cleaning everyday, which is quite a let down. I guess you can request it. But why?
I was disturbed by an on and off humming noise for my entire stay. Maintenance tried to correct but it could not be determined if it was from within the room or from an adjacent room. All in all a very unpleasant experience.
Service minimu offert.
We went for a celebration and were in the Amethyste room. Very nice, roomy. Carpet bit dated but everything was extremely clean. Staff was very kind and helpful and provided everything we needed. Thank you
The hotel overall is ok. I actually work in a hotel myself and I can say that the cleaning standard doesn’t compare. My fiancée also happens to be a housekeeping manager and upon inspection the main room was alright. The bathroom needed some work. The shower walls still had hair on it, and the bottom of the tub was not scrubbed properly and you could see the build up. The sink had long hair in it still too. Thankfully I was only staying for a short time, but their housekeepers need some better training
Very disappointed in the cleanliness of this hotel. Me and my wife clean the room slightly before sleeping. The welcome paper with the cleaners name on it seemed like it was soaked and reused many times. The tables was dusty. And more then half used toilet paper roll in the washroom. Thank God there was a new roll beside it. Felt like this hotel was in the slums.
Pros: - Price We chose this hotel because the price couldn't be beaten.
- Location This hotel is near Le Carrefour Laval and Public Transit. A quick 10 mins drive away from Montréal.
Cons: - Cleaning service We stripped our bed and towels. Left the green sign on the door upon leaving requesting housekeeping services. When we came back at 7PM, our room had not been refreshed. Called the phone desk to inform them of the situation, did not receive an apology but she agreed to my request and told me that her colleague would bring up the 4 towels and a duvet cover. 1 hour goes by still didn't receive it. As we went by the lobby prior to leaving for a late dinner we inquired about the status of our request. She looked completely baffled and wrote it down again. When we came back at 9: 30PM, no towels or duvet cover was given. My partner had to go down at 3 different times since the front desk couldn't figure out what a duvet cover was even though all rooms have one.
- Elevators This hotel has some of the slowest elevators I have seen in my entire life. In addition, a hockey group stayed on the first night and a figure skating group stayed on the second. Kids were going up and down the elevators.
- Room The room is in severe needs of renovation. The hotel is dated, standard amenities such as a larger flat-screen TV with cable were not available. In lieu the hotel had a pixelated 32 inch TV.
The bed made squeaking noises at every single movement we made. The noise isolation in the hotel is poor, we could hear the kids running back and forth.
Nothing premium about the premium rate I paid for the room. Small and cramped. In this day and age they have 2 charging outlets as far as possible from the night stand.
Nice and clean place, the waiter was nice as well, some choice limit on the menu, but what was out of the menu was delicious, if you like lamb meat as I do!
The hotel room was booked for saturday and sunday, January 23rd and 24th. The staff were very friendly even through the pressure that they are facing from the province's draconian hardliner covid laws. The room was really nice, very comfortable beds, nice-sized bathroom and the heater worked really nice. I was nice and toasty all night long. They even went out of their way to order food for me because I can't speak French and did it with kindness and understanding. Thank you all for two great nights!
Stayed here after having a pretty big surgery. The beds were comfy, the staff were friendly. I was surprised by the lack of microwave in the room though. Not everyone has the ability to buy take out during the duration of the hotel stay - this was a medical trip not for lesuire (otherwise I wouldn't have travelled at all) loved the fact there was an ice machine close by. For someone that doesn't speak French, it was very difficult to find any information on what stores were open nearby to grab some snacks. I understand we are in middle of a lock down, so perhaps the staff could put in extra effort to keep their customers updated with what is close by and is open during these weird times. The stay itself was pleasant! Again. The beds were a dream! The very first day we arrived, after hours of travelling. We were greeted with a day of fire alarms being tested. I understand these things have to be tested for safety etc, so a heads up BEFORE the testing begins would have helped a long way. It went on from 10am to about 430pm. The on site restaurant is mostly closed, which was disappointing to find out upon arrival after hearing many friends boast about how amazing the food was!
Rooms still smell. Not sure why company booked this hotel again after the last fiasco. AC quit working after a few days. No one could fix it. Just because it is freezing outside doesn't mean I want my room stuffy and uncomfortably warm. Seems like IHG forgot about this property. Good location, but that is about it.
Staff were kind and helpful. Room was fine and beds very comfortable, with a nice assortment of pillows. There was not a lot of choices for food, but the food was good.
I had a great stay at the Holiday Inn in Laval! We stayed here for a concert at Place Bell nearby. The rooms were nice and the price was great. The hotel had excellent service and its also directly across the street from a large mall.
With that said, the pool was very small and the cleanliness of the rooms could be improved.
Other than that, I definitely recommend staying here especially if you’re in the area for an event at Place Bell.
Amazing staff! I left my wedding rings in my room after I checked out. I was already in the US when I realized I had left them at the hotel. When I called to see if they could find them, they told me they had them safely put away! Such and honest and great staff. Would stay here every trip!
Excellent stay at the Holiday Inn Laval. Staff were very comprehensive with my situation. I had to check in early because my flight was in the morning. They were able to get me a room in the morning, so that's awesome. They kept my luggage until the room was ready, so I could go out on my own without my luggage. Keep it up! Exercise room is good. Everything you need to train cardio.
We were moving hence needed to stay at a hotel for one night. Steep price for 8h of sleep but it's the business Very clean room and bathroom. But the cherry on top of the cake was Amadou at the reception. Very nice guy, polite and patient. 10 stars for Amadou.
No TV channels. No drinking water facility in rooms or hallway. No microwave in rooms. Very noisy air conditioning system. Booking agents speak rudely.
If I could give it 6 stars I would. The hotel moved mountains to accomodate my large group 2 weeks prior as the other hotel fell through. The Holiday Inn staff moved over 35+ rooms from the other hotel within 24hrs and provided excellent service during our stay. Our guests were totally satisfied, rooms were clean and we were given champagne and strawberries and a card on our wedding day, such a nice personal touch. Thank you Annick and the rest of the team at Holiday Inn!
My stay was sort of rough,
the rooms were clean (tv wouldn’t turn on)
but something that made things unpleasant was there were literally ZERO outlets by either bed for my phone! How is that even possible in 2019!?
(Also The carpets and bathroom Could benefit from an update as they seemed very dated)
Very Disappointed with the customer service with my stay too. I Was placed on hold an insanely long time when I called to confirm my reservation and then again to schedule a wake up call. Both times the staff members were shockingly rude to me when I asked what was happening and why am I being placed on hold for so long.
Another problem was the supper room service had ZERO healthy choices.the healthiest item I could order was a salad with fried chicken and I was told they do not serve it non-fried. Surprisingly they didn’t have a fish item or even a veggie protein dish for people not interested in hamburgers, nachos or hotdogs (not a huge deal I used skip the dishes instead but I had a credit on my account for in room dining which was included in my stay which I couldn’t use as I don’t eat junk food.)
Parking was good, there are lots of spaces available right in front of the hotel and walking to my car was easy.
There is a shopping mall across the road which is fantastic.
The dine in breakfast restaurant (** different from the restaurant that does supper room service**) was the only truly good experience during my stay.
Friendly servers, good presentation and healthy options. I had a yogurt parfait with fresh fruit and granola and the server provided a pot of coffee to the table which was a nice touch.
Also there was no rush to get me to settle up and leave and I completed some work online using the hotel wifi while enjoying the coffee.
In closing the nice breakfast restaurant and the good parking don’t make up for the hotel’s poor staff attitudes, poor room service and bare bones rooms.
Room service rings forever and goes to voicemail over and over when ordering breakfast. Front desk says “you should book in advance to have breakfast in bed when you want. ”. It’s 10 o’clock. Had to order Uber eats for breakfast in bed. Pricey hotel, expect more for price.
Front desk staff are very kind. The room appeared clean and was tidy. I would skip the Zircon entirely and go elsewhere, or at least stay clear of the waffles.
I was there for a conference did not stay in the room but it look ok conference room was nice and clean. I saw outside that they have 3 stars. The area is excelent near carfour laval centropolis where all resto are.
Rooms need a renovation, bed was lumpy, uncomfortable and squeaked every time you moved. Air conditioning was uncontrolled! So loud it kept me awake all night. Do not recommend.
I was super happy with my stay and the fact they could accomodate me on very short notice. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful and friendly and I appreciated their efforts. The beds were extremely comfortable and great for my bad back and the room was nice and clean. I was happy to have a Keurig and coffee essentials at my disposal as well. Thank you all for making the stressful trip we were on, so much easier.
Very comfortable. Basic but nice room. Comfortable beds. The smallest TV I have seen Ina while - more like a computer monitor. The breakfast was brutal - omlette undercooked, crepes were chewy and tasteless. BUT we were given a full refund (and I didn't even ask for it). I love any place that shows high integrity.
The waffles in the breakfast lounge are amazing, & with the 50$/night credit at the hotel restaurant, you can order enough food for 3 people, easy.theres a free bus service on the weekends that serves the bus loop across the street & takes you directly to the subway.very convenient.
I was expecting the same quality as the holiday inn expresses I've been staying in which is why I was disappointed. Very friendly staff but not free breakfast, no larger premium rooms, very tiny bathroom.
