Hôtel Le Germain Québec

Très bel hôtel et personnel accueillant. Les chambres sont très propres, entretenues et d'une bonne taille! Le seul bémol est le déjeuner, très décevant pour 22$ par personne. Croissants clairement pas frais du jour et très peu de choix.

Je recommande fortement cette hotel de Quebec! Super bien placé et chambres très confortable!

Great location if you want to be in old Quebec. They have a fantastic self-serve latte, espresso, etc.machine in the lobby.

Love this hotel! The staff was very helpful and professional. I even noticed that the cleaners really went above and beyond to keep the rooms nice and tidy. Our room was beautiful and spacious. The rain fall shower head was amazing with great pressure. The bed was extremely comfortable. We like our room to be on the colder side and we were able to set the thermostat to a comfortable temperature. Excellent location in the old part of the city. The view from our room made me feel like I woke up in a European town! My husband and I were able to walk to all of the tourist things we wanted to see including Place Royel, Petit Champlain, Chateau Frontenac, and the Citadelle. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops very close to the hotel as well. Additionally, the Museum of Civilization is only a block away. Perfect location to walk to everything. There is a valet parking lot in the back of the building if you are driving. It was very convenient to have our car right there. The hotel also offers a European style breakfast every morning. It is an additional charge of CA $19 per person but we thought it was definitely worth it if you like to eat a large breakfast before exploring the city. You may want to skip it if you do not like eating a lot for breakfast. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again when we go back to Quebec. Highly recommended!

J'ai adoré mon séjour au Germain Vieux-Québec! Je viens du domaine hôtelier et il est rare que je puisses l'expérimenter moi-même en séjournant dans des établissements de cette qualité. Je suis resté que 12h à l'hôtel et ils ont réussi à me surprendre. Les employés étaient très professionnels (j'ai oublié leurs noms, mais il y avait un latino et un français très sympathique et attentionné). Ma chambre était prête rapidement pour un early check-in, on m'a offert un café/ thé pendant que je patientais et même chose avant de quitter, j'ai utilisé le service de room service et c'était extrêmement rapide, la chambre était propre, une belle vue du 6e étage, il y a la possibilité de streamer Netflix avec le Chromecast dans la chambre.j'avais séjourné à un autre hôtel 4 étoiles les deux jours précédents et la différence de la qualité de service et des commodité était choquante. Je recommande!

Beautiful hotel and terrific staff. To a person, every staffer at the hotel was professional, helpful, and a pleasure to deal with. Quiet yet a short walk to the funicular and petit Champlain shopping. Room was well appointed, very good coffee machine at the lobby 24/7.

Fantastic hotel experience! This was my fiancé and I first trip to Quebec. We were celebrating my 30th birthday and the staff went above and beyond to welcome us. The chocolates on the pillows were divine and the view of the St. Lawrence River from our room was stunning. The bed was very comfortable and the staff gave us recommendations for dinner and made our dinner reservation for us. Very walkable to the Museum of Civilization, restaurants, art galleries and antique shops. Safe location and very quiet. Parking on site was wonderful too! Overall very happy stay and will return if ever in Quebec City again.

Located minutes away from the parliament, Hotel.le Germain was perfect for.our 1 night stay. The staff is friendly, the rooms were very clean, bathroom was big and had everything we needed. Parking located right behind the hotel, the have a mice sitting area outside and fire place. The decor indoor is so pretty and authentic. Breakfast not included though, you pay an additional fee for that. Many restaurants near by, awesome for tourists

Nous avons fait un merveilleux voyage à l'hôtel le Germain. La chambre était propre et tous les lieux l'étaient aussi. Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir été servi à plusieurs reprises par Théo. Il est de professionnalisme exemplaire. Il nous a parlé de plusieurs attraits touristiques et d'une passe d'autobus pour notre transport plus facile.
Les quelques points qui auraient dû être indiqué à notre arrivée est pour commencer le stationnement avec le service de valet, la voiture avait été envoyé dans un autre stationnement sans nous mettre au courant. Ensuite, l'hôtel n'a pas de restaurant, mais il offre le déjeuner continental et pour le souper, vous pouvez commander pour le service au chambre seulement.

Initially it wasnt great, but the staff came to our rescue and everything worked out fantastic, we have to say a special thanks to Francis, Theo and Ester, they really went out if their way to make our stay special

We stayed here for a long summer weekend. The location was in the middle of the old city, which was perfect. The only negative about the facility was that our room wouldn't cool down enough (in their defense, it was very hot outside). The room was clean, well designed and nicely furnished. We asked for a quiet location in the hotel and they perfectly accommodated our request. The lobby had a nice sitting area, always offered water and coffee, and had a cute outside patio. Perhaps the most outstanding thing we noticed was the staff. They were always welcoming and helpful. Whether it was recommending where to eat, offering free tickets to a summer festival one night, or arranging our departure transportation, everyone we dealt with was top notch. If we go back, I'd certainly stay with them again.

Our stay at Le Germain was incredible! Anne and the team provided excellent service. The Prestige room was large, very comfortable and clean. The gym was well equipped. Be mindful that this hotel is made up of two separate buildings joined at the lobby/ground floor. If you take the wrong elevator you will end up in the other building and will be very confused (it took me a few mins to realize what happened and make my way to the other side).

This hotel and staff turned our Quebec stay from a nightmare to a pleasure. We booked into a very upscale hotel just up the street, and the experience was nauseating. We ended up at le Germain and what a contrast! The staff was warm and welcoming, and Francis with his wonderful laugh and smile had us also laughing in minutes.
The room was beautiful, calm and very well appointed, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were hearty and with food variety. The hotel is also in a perfect location for walking and exploring Quebec City. Le Germain will definitely be our choice whenever we have the opportunity to visit Quebec City!

Overall visit was good but when we checked in the room wasnt clean, there was hair on the bathroom floor and one of the swivel tables was loose which nearly ended up falling on our foot. The service though makes up for these shortcomings, staff was helpful and welcoming and made the overall stay great.

Absolutely loved this place and would highly recommend you stay here.

What I loved:
1. Fantastic spacious rooms. We had a full king size bed and so much room, including an entryway with closet, desk area, and glorious bathroom.

2. Bathroom heater to keep it warm and cozy. It was quite cold when we stayed and the bathroom is open concept with a glass shower. The first shower I had was so cold, until I found a space heater under the sink. Much more enjoyable!

3. Dogs are allowed. We travelled with our Cockapoo. They left a bed, treats and bowls for food and water. Very thoughtful! Pet fee is a reasonable $30. Which is standard and a good price compared to the Fairmont Frontenac which charges $60

4. Parking is easy and very accessible.

5. Staff are pleasant and you can just communicate via text with them which is so much easier than calling 0. They arranged restaurant reservations and doggy sitter for us and we did it all through text. I even communicated with them prior to arriving via text.

6. Breakfast was decent and generous at $15/person. Hotel staff kindly brought up a tray to our room so we could dine in our room. Delicious yogurt parfait, pastries, cheese and ham options, etc.

7. Coffee and tea option in room and in lounge area are free. Loved this personal touch and being able to grab a tea for the road and water bottles!

Things that could be improved (not many) :
Please make internet more secure. It was an open network meaning anyone could join! We ended up not using and used our data.

Cet hôtel devrait définitivement être parmi les premiers choix pour un séjour à Québec. La localisation est idéale et la chambre est la plus confortable que j'ai eue dans mes expériences dans plusieurs hôtels de même catégorie. C'est également très tranquille, donc parfait pour se reposer en toute tranquilité ou pour un voyage d'affaires, tout en étant au coeur de l'action. Outre le confort et les petits luxes, c'est le service remarquable qui fait toute la différence. On s'y sent définitivement les bienvenus, le personnel est très aimable, proactif, et hautement qualifié; une valeur ajoutée a l'expérience. Nous avons eu d'excellentes recommandations pour les restos autour lorsqu'on a demandé. Un immense merci à toute l'équipe pour ce séjour des plus agréables:)

Comme toujours mon séjour a été parfait! Service chaleureux et hors pair de la part de cette fabuleuse équipe. De la chambre confortable, du petit déjeuner gourmand tout est là. Cet hôtel est et sera encore mon petit pied à terre à Québec!

Le service, les lieux, les petites attentions, les produits de bain, la vue sur le fleuve, les oreillers et literie. J'ai tout aimé!

On sent qu'il ne manque rien (car c'est vrai!) Tous les détails, que ce soit le coussin et les gâteries pour notre chien, le kit de couture au besoin, les attentions des employés, il ne manque absolument rien! Tout le staff est très gentil et accueillant!

Mon séjour de cette semaine s’est très bien passé. Enfin un hôtel où il y a du service à la clientèle dans tous les étages…jusqu’au stationnement, et que nous nous n’avons pas l’impression que l’on dérange à chaque fois que l’on demande quelque chose.

Bref, une place où le mot hôtellerie prend tout son sens.

We had a fantastic stay here in Quebec City for a few days in August. The person who checked us in - Francis - was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice - you can tell they pay attention to the details here. We enjoyed our nightly martinis made by Emma - she is the best martini maker! The location is great. We enjoyed the daily breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

Belle chambre spacieuse et très grande salle de bain bien aménagée. Par contre, je ne suis pas amateur des douches style tropical. Chambre silencieuse même si sur la rue Saint-Paul. Personnel courtois et attentionné, même si les gentils jeunes gens du petit déjeuner semblaient parfois un peu empêtré. Seul bémol: on n'a pas refait la chambre aux deux jours seulement sous prétexte de COVID. On nous apportait des serviettes sur demande seulement. Or, la vraie raison semble être la pénurie de main-d’œuvre, du dire même d'une des dames Germain à la télévision. Ceci dit, nous avons quand même payé le prix régulier. Et il n'est pas petit.

The hotel is very dated. The great concern should be the hygiene if the sanitization during the COVID time is taken care of properly. Carpets are all dirty black. Staying in other hotels prior staying at St. Le Gramin witnessed the hotel weakness in sanitization. The hotel is way away from being 4 star. I felt bad for the staff to deal with complains. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

By far one the best hotels in Old Québec. When you see the name “Germain”, that means the gold standard. It’s beautifully decorated. Great value, fantastic location, most generous breakfast, reasonable parking right behind the hotel, and for the ultimate convenience for business people and travelers, the train station is nearby. The staff is first rate and super friendly. I started going there when it was called Hotel Dominion 1912 in the early 90’s and it only got better over time. Amazing hotel. You’ll love it.

Le Germain Québec est établissement que j’apprécie énormément depuis 20 ans. Décor soigné, œuvres d’art de qualité, service attentionné, déjeuner parfait. Je suis toujours comblée après toutes ces années.

Had an amazing stay at this hotel while visiting Quebec City! Beautiful rooms, quiet atmosphere and close to all the sites we wanted to visit in the city.

The location and customer service could not be better. Really impressed with how helpful and friendly the staff are at St. Germain. However, I do think the rooms need to be updated. We also really struggled with getting the blinds up and down and had difficulty sleeping because the room wouldn't cool down enough. The bed is very comfortable though - one of the best hotel beds Ive experienced.

Well situated, good service, comfortable and modern room, everything you would expect from an hotel of that grade.
Bathroom could have been a bit better in my opinion: faucet handles were opening on the wrong side, the shower jet could have been more impressive and there wasn't any soap/shampoo/conditionner samplers provided.

Very pleasant staff especially Antoine. He is so friendly and very willing to help. No wonder if has been there for 10 years, he is a keeper!

Definitely one of the best boutique hotels in Quebec City. Located in the heart of Old Quebec and very convenient to walk around from the hotel.
Nice and comfortable room with lots of amenities.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Staff extremely accomodating. Continental breakfast was good. Tea, coffee and water all available in reception. Coffee maker in room. Environmentally aware. Molton Brown toiletries in bathroom. Queen bed extremely comfortable. Towels super soft.

Habituellement, nous séjournons au Château Frontenac, mais il n'y avait plus de chambres de libre, alors nous sommes allés dormir à l'Hôtel Le Germain Québec. Nous avons adoré l'accueil, très amical, très chaleureux. Il y avait des jeux de société disponibles pour tous dans le lobby, des pommes et des boissons toutes la journée disponible à la réception. Les chambres étaient spacieuses et confortables. C'est devenu notre deuxième choix à Québec. Nous adorons les hôtels Le Germain, que nous explorons maintenant grâce à notre première expérience dans le Vieux-Québec. Merci à toute l'équipe.

Truly exceptional service from all employees. All were gracious & kind. The location was perfect - just outside the walls of Old Quebec in a less tourist-centric area, but still completely safe & extremely quaint. The breakfasts were exceptional - don’t skip the croissants or the marbled pound cake. The room was clean, had many included amenities (espresso!), and the bed was soft & comfy. I highly recommend this hotel to couples, business travelers, and anyone else looking for a wonderful, peaceful experience in Quebec City!

This is a "Must-Stay" hotel of Quebec City. Forget about the big franchise hotel. This will be the place we'll be staying at whenever we go back to Quebec City again.
