Hotel PUR, Quebec, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, I was staying there with my family. The staff was kind and there was a great pool. Nice buffet and restaurant. Location was decent about 20 to 25 min walk to important attractions in Quebec. Good wifi overall rating 9/10

Great big rooms with modern feel, on-site coffee shop, nice lobby to chill out in, well priced.

How was it: It was different, ultra modern and almost very industrial at the same time. The hallways felt strange but inside the room was nice. We were lucky to have such a nice view! They had a alarm clocks with iPhone/iPod docking, which for a couple of years ago was already ultra modern.
The location was just on the outskirts of downtown but easily walkable which would allow to know the city a little more.

Bel hôtel, design très épuré. Bouteille d'eau et et petit frigo dans les chambres. Un peu loin par contre du vieux Québec. Stationnez vous dans le stationnement en face, pas dans celui de l'hôtel, c'est pas mal moins cher. Il y a un accès direct au café Van Houtte, très pratique en hiver.

It seems like they did some renovation so room is clean and bathroom looks fine. However it is hard to say this hotel is 4stars. There was water running sound from toilet even we did not use (makes sound when other room use it) and water pressure from shower was very weak. They put 2 body lotion so body washer was missing. Agents were kind but when I request body washer, it took long time. There were nice restaurants near hotel and parking was ok.

Nice spacious room which was clean and well appointed. Great location which was within walking distance to almost anything one would want to visit. The staff were friendly, polite, generous with their time and attention and did everything they could to make our stay special. I would definitely recommend my friends and family stay here on their next visit to Quebec City.

Most of the staff at front desk and restaurant are very friendly and professional. Room is neat and clean. Breakfast at hotel restaurant was also very good.

Un incontournable. Magnifique vue sur l'église. Chambres spacieuses. Il ne manquerait que de les équiper d'un petit four à micro-onde pour que tout soit parfait.

Parfois un peu de difficulté avec le WiFi sur certains étages dans les unités supérieures de coin du côté église. En le signifiant à la réception, ils vous offriront l'accès premium toutefois pour compenser.

Hôtel très bien situé. Vieux-Québec accessible à distance de marche. Je vais toujours à cet endroit maintenant.

Seul bémol: le manque de stationnement. Lorsqu'il est plein, on vous invite à vous stationner plutôt à l'édifice d'en face (Doyle), mais dans ce dernier, il faut payer à chaque entrée et sortie. Peut-être devraient-ils négocier une entente avec eux pour un tarif journalier?

- terrible sound-proof, can hear guests talking and laughing in the hallway and in their rooms
- old, thin, yellow-ish bath towels
- slow draining sink and toilet
- rusty metal part in the bathroom
- one small handheld for the shower, low pressure
- dirty elevator
- tight underground parking and expensive $24
- ask for a kettle but not available
The only good thing was quick contactless check-out. Hotels’ star rating should be re-evaluated with cleanliness as top priority.

We got the room with church view, good for taking pictures. Room was also nice, hotel service was quite good. Enjoyed our stay there.

Bed are so confortable when i am going to quebec city this is the place iam going to because theres is a lot of parking spot around for free and is very close to all activities i recommend this hotel is a most try

Tres accueillant, tres confortables, beau design et sur le nouveau cartier Saint-Roch a Québec!

We stayed at PUR for two nights, we were a group of 4. It’s a really nice place to stay, and around the area there are little shops and cafe’s - you had to hike up to Old Quebec, close to 20 minutes. The service was alright, some staff were more helpful than others. I was a little disappointed with the room; we did not have enough towels, coffee or cups for four people and the rooms weren’t cleaned daily (due to Covid). I guess because of the pandemic this was an issue. The restaurant was only open for breakfast, and the meal here was typical. The concierge who took care of parking and was at the front, was super courteous! My experience was pretty good.

This place is beautiful, but just the parking entrance height is 6feet, our car have luggage on the top, so we have to find the parking across from the hotel which is just next to the hotel, that parking you park there just 15 dollar for 24 hours, if you don't know how to do it, there will be someone in the front of the hotel entrance will he you, he can speak english and french, he are able to help you to find parking

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in July. So let me break it down in different segments:

Rooms: we had a king bed with the church view. The view is awesome and the room was nice. However the mattress is quite soft which led to some back pain for us. The bathroom is average but it lacked a bath tub and the water in the shower which would change temperature dramatically without our control. Wake up calls were on time however the phone would keep ringing upto 10 minutes after we picked up the 1st call. When we called the reception and informed them, they told us to disconnect the phone from the wall

Staff: the courtesy at the reception was mixed. Some of the staff were very helpful and would bring anything we needed to the room (e.g. Extra towels or toiletries) however sometimes the staff would ask us to come down to the reception and collect anything we needed. The courteous staff were kind enough to get our room cleaned after the 2nd night. If it was not for the hospitable staff, I would have rated them 1/5. The concierge was super helpful. My wife needed an appointment at a salon and he called most of the salons near the hotel to book an appointment for her. At checkout, there was a discrepancy between the final price at checkout and the price that I agreed to on Booking.com. The manager did not even come out to try and explain to me the cause of the discrepancy.

Location: Perfect and a 15-minute walk to old Quebec city (however the walk is quite uphill). There are many restaurants and stores nearby.

Restaurant: great breakfast and coffee. One of the waiters was extremely nice and served us very well. The other waitress was rude and would ask us to wait if we had a request or a question. The toast was literally burnt but the nice waiter saw the state of the toast and took it back to the kitchen to get a new plate of the same dish.

Overall the hotel was decent but the staff needs to improve. I recommend the hotel manager or director to look into the discrepancies in the service levels of the staff.

Nice hotel, basic rooms, decent location.

The rooms of this hotel were somewhat bare-bones but had everything we needed. It is close to many places to go but a bit of a hike to get back and forth from the Old town.the only real complaint that I had was that the breakfast service is understaffed and therefore took quite a while to get food and the bill.

Excellent service from the young lady at the front desk and Jacques in valet. Don’t forget to ask Jacques about his recommendations for things to do/see.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Close to a lot of local businesses and shops. The hotel itself is not really great: parking lot was full at 4pm so you have to park across the street with no in and out privileges. The room does not seem to be cleaned properly (especially important during these COVID times). The Nespresso cup was USED when we tried to make a cup this morning. Disgusting! The towels smell like campfire smoke, not a wonderful feeling after a day of exploring to take a relaxing shower. The walls are thin. I'm sorry the neighbours next door had a poor morning it seems after too much partying or some bad oysters.hope the next guests will get a sufficiently clean room!

Le personnel était impeccable, autant ceux à la réception que les femmes des chambres! Notre chambre était très belle, décoration charmante, magnifique salle de bain. J’avais entendu dire que les toilettes était brouillante, oui elle l’est mais pour un cour moment, ça ne nous a pas dérangé du tout. Le lit est extrêmement confortable, juste assez mou et je pourrais dire de même pour les oreiller. Mon seul "problème" serait la pression de la douche, très peux d’eau et certainement pas pratique pour se laver à deux mais tout de même acceptable! Nous n’avons pas manger à l’hôtel donc je ne peux dire sur la nourriture. Merci pour le beau séjour!:)

Very ordinary hotel, partially renovated to appear modern, rooms give you a feel of staying in Air BnB, Pillow cover and bath tub had the hairs from previous guests.

Room services was very responsive and quick, They have 4 Tesla chargers (paid) in parking, the parking is expensive ($24 for overnight).

Location is the best advantage of the hotel, most of the attractions are at the walkable distances.

There are lot of food and cafe options nearby.

The room AC temp.is fixed to 21 degree, bathrooms are very congested and have no exhaust, the water flow is very low in the shower.

The staff is kind and friendly.

This was a nice hotel. It has a great pool and fairly newly renovated rooms. It’s in a great location with lots of restaurants. I hesitate giving it 5 stars because of what I would consider the service aspect. ‘Because of COVID’ they don’t clean people’s left over room service outside their rooms for days, there were clumps of hair and lint outside the pool and our beds could have been made better. Otherwise great hotel in a great locations. The restaurants around the hotel are for the most part fantastic.

BEWARE OF CANCELLATION POLICY!

This Hotel's cancellation policy is misleading in that when you cancel your reservation, it is not fully refunded (they keep the 100$ reservation deposit) despite language that suggests a full refund is available when cancelled by a certain date. So make sure you are very very certain before booking this hotel.

Having stayed here in the past, it was quite nice and is wonderfully located.

Si j’avais pu mettre aucune étoile je l’aurais fait. Nous avions réservé une chambre d’hôtel dernière minute et n’avons pas pu nous présenter du à un imprévu. Lors de la réservation la personne au téléphone nous à assurer que le paiement sur la carte de crédit allait se faire seulement lors de notre arrivée. Le lendemain 400$ avait été chargée sur notre carte. Ok des frais, ça peut arriver. Mais 400$? Nous avons contacté l’établissement, ils ont refusé de nous rembourser ou de négocier. Ils ont peut-être loué la chambre à quelqu'un d’autre et faite l’argent en double? Bref, pire service à clientèle que j’ai vue de ma vie, surtout de la part d’un hôtel qui est assez reconnu.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Pur in Quebec City. We were greeted nicely by the front desk and check-in was smooth. Though it was not contactless, everyone was wearing masks and the environment felt safe. Here are the pros and cons of our stay.

Pros:
- The hotel is about a close 15-minute walk away from Old Quebec. You would need to take the Lepine stairs (closest stairs to the hotel) to get there.
- The room with the one king-size bed is a decent size and had enough space to store our luggage without feeling crammed.
- The washroom was supplied with necessary toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap).
- The bed is extremely comfortable. It was probably the best bed I ever slept on in my entire life. I had to ask the front desk where they get their mattresses from. They also supply memory foam pillows and you can request the staff to bring the pillows to your room. These pillows are a game changer!
- The room came with a Nespresso as a coffee machine and a bottle of water for drinking. This was a nice touch as many hotels would provide a lower-end coffee machine and no bottle of water for drinking.
- The room was very clean and well kept and had antibacterial wipes for you to use to sanitize the room.
- The room has a fridge. I find that many hotels nowadays don't have a fridge so it is very nice to see one.

Cons:
- I wish the toilet had a better flush as it looks like it is very easy to clog. It may be in the best interest for the hotel to get newer and water-saving toilets.
- The TV was not a smart TV or did not have the ability to cast Netflix/Youtube from your phone. Many hotels nowadays have this capability/functionality. It would be nice to see this implemented.
- The parking is very expensive at the hotel (24 dollars a night) but comparable with other hotels in the area. A solution to this is to park at the parking garage across from the hotel. The parking garage is newly built and is cheaper than parking at the hotel.
- I would have liked more seating area in the hotel lobby. There are limited chairs and people would have to stand if there are no seats.

I also want to mention that there are many amenities at the hotel that include a swimming pool, fitness room, business centre and a restaurant. However, I did not use the amenities so I cannot comment on these.

Overall, my experience was amazing though there are always areas for improvement. I will definitely stay here again whenever I am in Quebec City. This hotel is a good deal compared to the hotels in the area.

Hotel bien situé, moins de 30 minutes à pied du vieux-Québec, de la haute ville, du parlement ou de la rue Cartier! Excellent service! Chambre agréable et confortable!

Par contre, au niveau de la localisation, préférez le vieux Québec, c'est beaucoup moins glauque, il y aura aussi plus de choix au niveau des restaurants à proximité.

The hotel itself was good, A/C too very noisy though. Pool is clean and nice, gym is good as well. Staff was very friendly. Indoor parking is ok but very expensive, no special price for hotel guests. Unfortunately the breakfast restaurant wasn’t on point. A/C was broken and everyone was sweating in the restaurant. Menu offer a lot of option but nothing really stands out for the price…

Jacques is the most amazing person I met in a hotel ever, we arrived at hotel Pur late last night after riding for 12 hours, after an hour of trying to navigate the construction out here looking for another Marriott hotel we decided just to book somewhere else, tired sore and hungry we pulled up and he was right there waiting, we speak no French at all as he started talking we had no clue what he was saying, he caught on that we didn't and gave us a smile and some direction to check in, after getting settled in our room we went down stairs to find out where to eat.

Jacques was very helpful listened to what we were after and pointed us in the right direction, so off we went, then a block away we hear someone calling our name it was Jacques chasing us down to inform us the restaurant was closed, he gave us a few more options we checked one out and the wait time was very long, so deflated we walked back to the hotel, and there was Jacques again to save the day he recommended an amazing pizza place "pizza is pizza" no he nailed it best pizza ever.

Thanks for saving my day Jacques.

Vraiment un bel hôtel, nous avions une belle chambre très propre calme et accueillante. Très bel accueil du personnel, très amical. Bien situé dans le vieux Québec. Restaurants a proximités, pharmacies, dépanneurs. Beaucoup d'animation J'y retourne sans hésitation. Le meilleur endroit si vous voulez découvrir le vieux Québec. Sans hésitation je vous recommande cet établissement.

Super bel endroit. Toilette et douche novatrice. Personnel acceuillant et courtois. Nous n'avions nulle part ou aller car l'endroit réservé avait un dégât d'eau. Bien heureux d'avoir trouvé et en même temps connaître cet hotel.

Accueil chaleureux, chambre propre avec une très belle vue. Malheureusement, le secteur est vraiment en décadence. À partir de 20 h jusqu'à 6 h, il n'est pas recommandé de sortir à l'extérieur de l'hôtel.

The room and friendly front desk staff bumped this review up to a 1 star. The security guard at this hotel…my god. Will never return.

Excellent choice for lodging in the beautiful Quebec City. Great pool, gym and rooms. Andrea at reception was very helpful, informative and hospitable. Military veterans and active members receive discounted rates. All the great cafes, restaurants and the old city is a nice walk away.

Great newly renovated hotel. Nice gym. Nespresso machine and coffee in room. Car park is small and may have to park across the street which is no problem and it's also $10 cheaper per day. Definitely recommend trying to stay on a higher floor if possible as it can be louder in the evenings with bars nearby. Didn't find the homeless a problem in the nearby square.

Very clean hotel with a very close proximity to an amazing cafe, Joe Cool. A must try cafe to get your morning going or even a fantastic lunch.

We stayed in the hotel for one night only this past weekend. I can't say that the hotel is bad, but I find it very weird that it is a four-star hotel. The rooms have old beds and furniture, the floors are covered with carpets that have some very strange smell. All the time I felt the smell of cars or busses (that is the closest I can explain the smell in the room), the elevators are old and slow. During the night you can hear all the noise that comes from outside (and the hotel is located in the party zone of the city). We didn't get bathrobes and slippers, the closet doors were strangely complicated to close, the shower didn't have shower doors. Overall, I have to be honest and say that the room was clean, but the entire impression was far from 4 stars. So, if you are looking for a decent place to sleep, you would be satisfied, however, if you are somebody who likes to enjoy hotels and the esthetics of them, this is not the hotel you want.

Was here for 2 nights. The hotel is newly renovated, highly clean. Room was comfy. Stayed here for 2 nights from 21 to 23rd. Jacques the doorman was awesome and friendly and told us a great English pub to go to to watch the Canadiens game. Front desk was helpful to. I will come back here next time j am in Quebec City.

Terrible internet. 2-3 mb/S. Room kept at 16c during the day. Super cold. Broken tv. No glass, or mug. Very average hotel. Confy and clean bed though.

Personnel courtois et attentionné, surtout Philippe, le concierge d'où les deux étoiles. Nous avons réservé une suite avec surclassement (confirmé par l'hôtel et Bonvoy), en raison de mon statut de voyageur avec Bonvoy, et ce fut toute une surprise. La "suite" est à peine plus grande que ma roulotte! Il n'y a ni coin repas, pas de micro-ondes, ni de divan. Qu'un simple fauteuil simple. Nous devons manger sur le lit ou sur l'aire de travail qui est trop étroit pour manger avec mon épouse en même temps. Je comprends le style épuré du Pur, cependant, nous avons eu une chambre, non une suite. Dommage.

I have been to all of the Marriott properties in the Quebec City area. Each have their strengths and weaknesses. I highly recommended Hotel PUR if you will be in the immediate area and can get a good price. They charge additional for parking but if you're without a car worth it. Nathalie and Alexandra were very welcoming and answered all of my questions and concerns. I recommend this place for a stay of 2 nights max.

Très bel hôtel, très propre. Le lit et les oreillers étaient très confortables, je n'ai jamais aussi bien dormi. Le service était également exemplaire, employés courtois et compétents, je n'ai que de bons commentaires. En plus, la vue de notre chambre était magnifique.

Nous avons eu une très beau séjour. L'accueil a été chaleureuses autant pour nous que pour notre chien. La chambre était belle, propre et nous avions une vue magnifique sur l'église. A proximité de pleine de restaurants. Si j'avais un point négatif a dire c'est seulement que la toilette faisait du bruit longtemps après qu'on l'ai "flusher".
