Hotel Ruby Foo's

Hôtel très accueillant que je réserve lors de mes visites à Montréal. Personnel très courtois et professionnel, en particulier William, manager aux réservations, efficace et très bon service à la clientèle! Chambre de bon standing, confortable et complète. Proche de toutes commodités, à quelques pas de la station de métro Namur, stationnement gratuit et sécurisé à l'hôtel. Accès direct aux grands axes routiers de Montréal. Très bonne adresse à retenir.

C'est extrêmement rare que je donne une note si basse, mais là je n'avais pas le choix. Nous avons réservé une chambre avec cuisinette pour 4 nuits. Points positifs: réseau wifi stable, personnel à l'accueil poli et respectueux et si nous refusons le service aux chambres (ce qui ne change rien vu l'état de la chambre.), ils remettent des dons à la fondation du cancer du sein du Québec (bravo pour ça!). Points à améliorer: l'état de la chambre à notre arrivée était répugnant. Il y avait des taches sur les murs, le plafond et les meubles. Des poils un peu partout, l'odeur du tapis dans le couloir était horrible.quant au frigo, il ne fonctionnait pas, mais surtout, il sentait le cadavre. Heureusement, les deux serviettes et la literie étaient propres (en tout cas elles semblaient propres). Pour vous donner une idée, dès le lendemain de notre arrivée, nous avons acheté du produit nettoyant pour rendre la pièce habitable.

For a 4 star hotel I found bedbugs hairs all over the bathroom dirt on the baseboards rips in the carpet chips on the furniture dirty walls if you look different like tattoos and so thay put you in a different room that smalls like bug spray i wonder please look carefully it's a shame

The room I stayed in was not well soundproofed. I could hear the cars on the highway and the neighboring rooms. If you're a light sleeper, I do not recommend this hotel. The room was ok, service and location great

La chambre dans laquelle j'ai dormi n'étais pas bien insonorisé. J'entendais trop bien les autos sur l'autoroute et les chambres voisines. Si vous avez le sommeil léger, je ne recommande pas. La chambre était correct, service et localisation bien

The whole overall experience was quite decent. The staff is pleasant and welcoming but the hotel rooms are dying for an upgrade. The alarm clock in our room had no wire, so pretty much there is a clock but it isn’t connected to a power outlet since there is no power cable.

Service was prompt. I have stayed here twice.previous stay was so good I booked it again this time. Though this time the room bathroom lock had some issues and the room was a bit conjusted.

Overall the service of the hotel both the times was great. The location of the hotel is best.not too far not too close to downtown.

Shout out to George at the front desk. I've stayed at many hotels in Montreal and Ruby Foo's is my home away from home. The complaints on here are frivolous, compare the savings alone on free parking vs an equal downtown hotel that charges for parking vs a 6$ Subway ride is a win. They have always treated me with respect and quick responses to my emails. This is the best hotel in Montreal for the value.

The worst place to stay long term the say due to covid and the safety of the cleaning staff they can't clean the room or Change the bedding or clean towels

Endroit sympa, on y trouve un.peu de tout.il font aussi de la très bonne cuisine à l'intérieur. Je recommande vraiment ce resto. Les repas sont circulant

This hotel located in a best place for all amenities. Service used to be great. But now using pandemic as excuse all the facilities were reduced. No fridge and microwave. If you need microwave you need to pay 10$ per day. House keeping will provide you very few towels. If you stay more than a day they won't provide additional towels. You need call reception. Very disappointed.

Upon booking the reservation, we noticed that this hotel was rated as a four star but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The checkin process was extremely smooth, we were told that all of the rooms were recently renovated and the hotel also displays photos online of renovations. However, once we got into the room it was very clear that it wasn’t. Walls were covered in some sort of white splattering, pieces of furniture were missing panels and the room was not properly cleaned, or up to par with normal cleaning even pre covid. Very disappointed to see how poorly represented the hotel was explained to us versus the reality of it. Would not recommend nor would stay again.

Pro: Nice Big rooms, clean bathroom, nice staff, Nice Location, close to everything, huge parking lot.
Con: Outdated, overall Not clean, smelly room & carpet, bedding outdated, with stains, old towels with stains, dirty chair.etc, needs to be aired as much as possible. Won't be back and do not recommend.

I had thr worst experience in Ruby Foo’s. One night they put a notice in the elevator that water will be shut down tomorrow from 9: 30am until 12: 30pm. I was so lucky that I saw that notice otherwise it would be much worse. Anyways it’s 1.5 hours past 12: 30 and the water is still not back. They don’t even have an ETA. So many people complaining loudly, public toilets in the lobby smell and look terrible! People have done number 2 there! Other than the water issue, the hallways are full of garbage bags and dirty dishes. They tell the guests to just put them outside and nobody takes them for days. They say they don’t have housekeeping at all because of Covid!

Big rooms but curtains have rips on them, paint in bathroom were peeling and carpets were dirty.
They also used the pandemic excuse not to make the beds and not to replace the towels. They will give you the sheets but you have to put them on yourself.
We stayed at another hotel for 3 nights before we stayed here and our beds were made and we got fresh towels everyday.

The hotel is close to highway, so it's easy to reach other places. There is metro station nearby and metro line goes to downtown, so one can travel via metro as well. There are a number of restaurants and coffee shops nearby, so that's good.
The room which was provided to us, the big lamp was not working. The lighting was not enough for us at night. The bathroom door was like built the older doors, you have to push hard to lock. However, the room was in good condition.

We booked months in advance and requested two adjoining rooms, due to our son being autistic and a flight risk. Not only was the front desk manager not willing to accommodate our request despite us checking in and requesting early, she would not switch our rooms on the second night, due to the guests leaving in the room booked between ours. Many excuses were made. The beds were nice and the room clean, but the indifference and the callousness of the front desk manager negated all of the comforts of our stay. Never again.

AC covered in mold. Stained furniture/floors. No room cleaning during stay, as result garbage from multiple rooms left in hall, uncollected for days. Rusted appliances. Unsecured WiFi.

Tout est bien. Un peu cher, Très dommage qu’il y avait chaque nuit le bruit de voitures et de motos qui dérapaient sur un parking pas loin de l’hôtel malheureusement on les entend beaucoup depuis la chambre et ça nous a empêché de dormir

Dommage.un batimemt qui a du potentiel mais la chambre est vraiment sale.bain pas laver (au moins 10 cheveux dans le bain et le mur du bain.des poiles de barbe dans le lavabo des traves de doigts sur la cafétiere.mur d'ascenseur sale des poubelles dans les corridors et j'en passe.le.monsieur a l'accueil gentil. Le front desck est propre mais reflete pas la chambre.j'ai du allez acheter guenilles et detergent pour laver.la piscine était vide et aucun avis à ce sujet

To me it is a zero stars! The room was dirty, towels had black stain on them, with hair residue! A couple of pillow covers were the same! Funny story when we called the reception, she said "I am sorry please file a complain, I cannot do anything for you, it is common here"! Same story when we were checking out, the guy said the same thing "yes, I know, these complains are common here"! They didn't even offer us to change the room, they just nicely said "sorry"! Never stay there!

The room itself was decent, but I was not impressed with the uncleanliness of the washroom. Cleaning staff need to do a better job, and pay more attention to detail.

It was nice but again no microwave so if you have a baby it will be difficult for you to warm milk or warm baby's food. During pandemic also you have to come to the common area to use the microwave. I never prefer as it is a bit risky as everyone is using it. Rest hotel was good and clean. Staff was friendly

Room was so dirty. Didn’t have towels when we came in. A whole wall of the room was covered in a dried up dark liquid. Service said they couldn’t do anything about it. Said it will take days to clean and I literally wiped up a spot in 2 seconds with water and a towel. Terrible front desk worker to claim not to be the manager on the phone and when approached said he was the manager.

Great location, just a short hop from the metro. Room was clean and staff were friendly. My only minor issue is that my room felt a little humid. Not sure if it was the air conditioner. But, my sheets always felt a little bit damp. Kinda odd.

A really sad decline.this used to be the best value/convenience in the city, especially for road trips; 20 minutes to downtown on the Metro with a lot of restaurants/services around. On our recent 3 day stay our room was dirty, the computer chair was wrecked with the replacement offered even more destroyed, service at first refused to provide clean mugs (? !) and had to be pressured to provide soap. What happened?

We had a pleasant stay here.room and bathroom was big and was super clean.worth the $. Right on the Decarie/Hwy 15 with the Namur Metro station across the street, so easy access to get downtown/Old Port, or Montreal east

Very bad hotel, dirty and full of dust, they gave me a room with two beds just for me, I tried to be changed to a room with one bed but it was impossible, terrible service!

Tiny rooms, not enough towels, carpet not clean and room service is really poor…. Would suggest go Somewhere else not here

When I'm in Montreal this is my favorite place to stay. Rooms are very spacious, restaurants are great and the location is central to anything in the city (right on the Decarie/Hwy 15 with the Namur Metro station across the street, so easy access to get downtown/Old Port, or Montreal east (Jarry Park and Garment District). And bonus, the world famous Orange Julep is 1 block away

Worst experience. I wish I can give them 0 Stars. Even 2 stars hotel are better. Rooms are dirty very tight with no room service. What’s the fun of paying 400 dollars when you have to rent microwave everyday for 10 dollar. Found chips behind the mattresses box spring. Staff is very rude

Hôtel très bien situé! Piscine intéressante et resto à déjeuner 5 étoiles! Malheureusement les tapis des couloirs sont tachés et impropres ainsi que lui des chambres je voyage souvent et j’ai rarement trouvé une chambre aussi sale! Poussière, dessous de lit non fait, tache sur la
Literie, coulisse sur les murs saletés incruster dans les salle de bain beaucoup de tache sur rideau de douche il avait même des faux oncle cassé en dessous de l’évier et une poignée de cheveux ou le séchoir je regrettes amèrement mon séjour! Incapable d’avoir dès débarbouillette personne qui parle presque pas français à réception on a juste une envie ses de repartir je ne conseil à personne de réserver ce nid à bactéries impropre!

Propreté générale des lieux est déficient. Aucune poubelle extérieur. Des détritus traînent souvent dans les corridors et les tapis de corridor méritent un nettoyage.

Room was dirty. We were 3 adults checking in. Not enough towels. Asked the front desk guy who was not very friendly and he said there was none left to give. This was at 1145pm when we checked in after a 5 hr trip from Toronto. No TV remote. He did bring us that.
Only the washroom was clean. The carpet was filthy and there was stuff all over it. Sheets had stains on them. Disgusting room. Was not worth the money we paid for it. I have stayed at this hotel before and this was the first time we experienced this. Next day, we found the missing remote under that computer desk. Clearly the rooms are not checked for cleanliness by anyone. Complained to the front desk the next day and the girl was very polite but said they could not do anything as the hotel was full and could not send anyone over to clean the room due to covid. We had no choice but to stay in a dirty room. Not impressed at all. One would think with covid still around that hotels would take extra care to have their rooms cleaned and inspected.

We really enjoyed our stay here while in Montreal, the room was very clean and had everything we could need. Close to the metro if you want to explore the centre without trying to find a parking space downtown.

The staffs I encountered with were welcoming, the room was clean and the hotel was pretty close to a lot of attractions.

Unclean, unkempt in some areas, apathetic service. Key cards keep getting bad (despite keeping away from other electronics). Was give a room at the far end and had to make the trek to lobby three times for key card replacement. Pool area dirty with cleaning supplies stored in the open on the way to the pool, constantly out of towels even at the beginning of the day. Sure there’s labour shortage but it’s everywhere, stop calling yourself 4 star when you can’t keep up to the level of a roadside motel. I will try attaching pictures of cobwebs in the corridors, broken wardrobe, chipping paint, grime in the AC control panels. I could go on, this is a hotel that’s been neglected and is only a disaster in waiting when bugs and roaches take over.

Lovely hotel, rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. Great value for the price. Convenient that the metro station is only a couple minute walk down the road.

Pleasantly surprised! Hotel was priced very well compared to others so I was expecting a lot less… definitely worth booking here! The beds were comfortable and the room was updated, the pool looks clean and well taken care of, the front desk staff were really friendly, and the people working in the restaurant were great! One small complaint is that there was a large stain on the carpet in our room which we addressed with management…but this really did Not detract from our stay. The location was within close walking distance to several restaurants and shops. I would recommend Hotel Ruby Foos to anybody looking for a decent place to stay!

It a good hotel but from there staff members one of them is really rude he never talk nicely he wear glasses rest of all everything is nice

Poor front desk service, the staff answer my questions lacking enthusiasm. I also work in the hospitality industry, but this hotel is not worth 4 stars.
If there is an option for 0 star, I will go for it!

Je vais là pour le travail, coquerelle, punaises de lit et chambres nettoyés juste en surface. Dégoûtant comme endroit. Multiple plaintes à la direction et aucune actions de prises.

Everything is ok except there is an aggressive old lady at the reception. She has this cheap motel desk attitude. She didn’t even tell us how to get to the room. A well mannered receptionist will always tell us which elevator to take. Avoid this particular receptionist if you can. There are many complaints about her in the reviews and the management has not taken any action to rectify it. So this means she is somehow related to the management and hence her rude & scary behaviour to customers.

Parking is good. Near to Namur metro station. There is a supermarket near by where you can buy ready to eat freshly prepared European style food & salads.

If management is reading this, give her some training on how to talk to customers in a service oriented industry.

The room we booked was nice, I would've came back if it wasn't for how my boyfriend was treated. The room was booked in my name but I couldn't check in on time. Therefore, he checked in without me and I made sure to call the hotel reception to let them know yet they still called me to make sure. I didn't make a call in the morning for nothing, I couldn't check in with him for nothing. I was busy. Also, the lady took a long time before responding to the call. Like really? My boyfriend made sure she knew I was on the phone but she was out there kiki-ing with another customer. It was as if she was doing it on purpose, which is a big possibility. Lastly, those room keys are horrible. It took us too many attempts to get into the room. I don't know if it's the door lock or the room keys or even the room since I didn't pay much. Anyways, they get a 3/5 stars because we weren't bothered or anything during our stay and we enjoyed the room specifically.

I rented a room and brought my own food, i called the reception to use the microwave, he told me it was 10$ for me to simply warm up my food for less than two minute, money hungry hotel, never seen a hotel that charges to use a microwave

Careful with this hotel they will
Take pictures of your room and then say the maid didn't wana clean it.what a joke it's a hotel they were very lucky I didn't take them to court for invasion of privacy.some people smoke up and destroy property and I never seeen anything happen.since administration changed it has been nothing but mediocre service the personnel tried to do what they can but they were cut short.this hotel gona loose whatever good repute it had if they don't make serious changes

Nice room but I was extremely disappointed by the welcome I received from Mike at check-in. He was not friendly and liked to very rudely threw my cards (credit, ID, room key) at the counter instead of placing them down or handing them to me. Not the kind of behavior I would have expected from someone at 4-star hotel, especially after a long day of traveling.

Dirty rooms. The carpet is terribly dirty and or stinks, the bed sheets are stained and old. There is blood stain on my blanket (see photo). There is used tissue paper and a layer of dust in the gap between the mattress and headboard. Other than the filth, the rooms are dated, shower is weak, service is mediocre at best.

Hôtel agréable avec des chambres confortables. Bien équipé avec piscine et spa et à 2 pas du métro. Dommage les odeurs de cannabis dans le couloir qui envahissent la chambre.

The hotel is nice, beds and rooms were clean, services seem nice but the price for 250$ was not worth it especially the rude receptionist mike.no point in coming back here. The location is great that's about it.

My worst hotel experience ever. I booked a 4 stars room and they put me and my family in some cheap room that smells smokey. I wasted 2 hours trying to get a better room on check in but they refused. Now I’m not coming back to Montreal because of this super bad experience

What a bad first (and last) experience at Ruby Foo's. I'm pretty sure we got the oldest/furthest/nastiest room in the entire hotel (Room 143). First of all, the staff never told us how to get to the room. We took the elevator that was close to the lobby and got on the 1st floor only to find out that we had to go down 15 stairs to get to the level where our room actually was We couldn't take the luggage cart down those stairs so we had to go back to the lobby. I asked the lobby person how to get to the room and they told me the elevator to go to that room was at the end of the hallway. I went down the hallway and found no elevator. What they meant is that I had to go through several hallways that felt like maze to actually find the tiniest elevator where the cart barely fit. Finally found the room after 15 minutes of running around. As soon as I opened the door, the dampness hit me. I looked at the bathroom and there was rust everywhere (door frame, hair dryer, around the bathtub/shower/toilet). The level of noise coming from the A/C was just unacceptable. There were stains on walls and ceilings and it seemed like they hadn't been cleaned in months and that a fresh coat of paint was overdue. The beds were OK.

The attached restaurant (eggspectation) was equally as bad. The food was OK but the service was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. It took well over half an hour before they took our order and about an hour before any food was brought to us and all the plates came at different times.

Anyways, I don't recommend this place to anybody nor will I ever go back.

This place is disappointing in terms of all the great reviews it gets. It was fairly average to me; clean and quiet rooms with a typical layout. Perhaps it's one of the nicer hotels in Montreal, but it is lackluster if accustomed to big cities. Good location, somewhat friendly staff (not always the most helpful or attentive), disappointing pool and a shoebox sauna. Not worth the price in my opinion, but decent stay.

Superbe Hôtel! Merci à Bernard pour son accueil et tout le reste. Pour moi c'est un 5 étoiles. Très très bien situé en plein coeur de Montréal. Aussi ; Métro Namur, restaurants, autoroutes etc. Plusieurs endroits se font à pied. Un beau stationnement facile à utiliser bref, une expérience. Je le recommande fortement! Propre et TRÈS BIEN tenue.

Currently staying here for mover then two weeks. I give it 4 stars because the location is not the beat but if you are booking this then you most likely know that this is not downtown with a lot to do and see neat by. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable. If you do t mi d staying f outside downtown then it's a good place. Might amend to 5 stars if the rest of my stay goes well

Great hotel. Excellent location. I would stay here again, especially for that attached breakfast/brunch restaurant. Eggspectation. I miss that place already.

I’ve stayed here twice and both times loved it. The room decor is modern with an Asian vibe. Free onsite parking and Eggspectations next door is very convenient. The only thing was the vending machine on the first floor didn’t have any water in it

This feels like an older hotel but renovated and in decent shape. The rooms are well equipped, with fridges and a good sized bathroom. It has a nice pool area and other amenities. It's well located, close to the subway and to the highway out of town, and has a decent amount of parking. My only complaint is the price is pretty steep for what it is, especially during high season.

A wait of almost one hour to get into our room after hours in the car was very annoying. Turns out the new manager fired a lot of the old staff without replacing them. May not go there again. The remaining staff was pleasant enough, but overworked.

Nice lobby, good location for the meeting I had. Room and hallway decor needs updating at this price point. Hallway looks like something out of the Shining! Spacious room with a comfortable. Only hotel I have ever seen that has an oven (yes, an oven, not just stove top). Probably used to be a bachelor apartment before the hotel bought the building. I didn't use the kitchen in the room, but seemed well-equiped. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Road traffic can be a bit loud.

Spent a week here, location is great for my purpose, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable.
Wish they had onsite laundry for longer stays.

This is a good hotel with nice staff. I'd give it a 3/5 rather than 5/5 because if your room is on the first floor while a party is going on in their ball room, your room will vibrate with the sound of the bass and the music will keep up till midnight. On another note, the hotel has a good location right next to the metro for easy access.

Decent hotel. Nothing fancy. Nice friendly accommodating staff. Breakfast place is great and reasonable. Have the OJ! For $4.5 it is huge and freshly squeezed. Delicious! Hotel ii so in a great location. Would come back.

I stayed over 6 weeks in total in separate stays.
I am genuinely happy with this hotel and will keep coming back every time I need to be in Montreal. The staff service is very good, I never had a bad experience. The restaurant staff is very friendly and enjoy spending times with them while enjoying a beer.
The room is always flawless, I've never seen a dirty spot in any room I've had. I really really like the sliding wall in front of the window. Blocks all the sun from entering the room, perfect for going to bed early or waking up late.

It is a overall a very good hotel, but there some little downside. The traffic to get there is slightly annoying. The TV are low quality, with limited channel but I still find something interesting every night. The breakfast restaurant open a little late to me (6: 30), it is very average food and expensive. On the other hand the restaurant at night is also expensive, but food is very good.
I am not a big fan of the shower head either, but it does get job done.
Last complain would be the pillow, they are very soft, which I cannot stand I need my pillow firm and they do not have a different set.
