Hôtel Spa Watel

This was our 4th time staying in here since we found this little Gem. We've always booked for a weekend stay. The staff are welcoming. The grounds have always been maintained well. We were there during this past weekend snow storm. They cleaned everything up in a timely manor and we were still able to use the spa outside. Indoor hot tub out of service. We prefer outdoors anyway. Indoor pool very warm.
Gary, is always a pleasure to see while there. It is welcoming that he is fluent in English. Other members make an attempt to speak English as well.
This time, we stayed in a smaller room with a mezzanine. It did feel more cramped than other rooms.
We will definitely return for our weekend get away.

Bonjour, nous sommes venus à votre hôtel le 31 décembre 2023 pour un séjour de 3 nuits. (du 31 décembre au 3 janvier).
Lors de la communication initiale, nous vous avons contacté pour RÉSERVER la chambre d’hôtel et non payer les 3 nuits dans leur entièreté. En effet, nous avons reçu la journée de notre conversation initiale un reçu de PAIEMENT ENTIER pour le séjour. À aucun moment il n’a été question du paiement en entier et nulle part en ligne ou en personne nous n’avons eu accès à votre politique de l’hôtel.
Après plusieurs heures d’attente nous avons réussi à avoir les clés de la chambre. En entrant dans la chambre, cette dernière n’était pas faite.

La 1ère nuit fut catastrophique. Il y avait des bruits des chambres voisines, car les murs sont TRÈS minces. Tout dans la chambre semblait vétuste, la toilette coulait. Bref, au matin du 1er janvier, j’ai eu un malaise n’ayant pas dormi de la nuit.
Nous sommes venus vous voir à 2 reprises à la réception pour vous mentionner que la situation ne nous convenait vraiment pas et que nous voulions quitter les lieux. Vous nous avez répondu que vous ne remboursez pas les clients. Lors de la 2ème tentative de se faire rembourser les nuits restantes, vous nous avez mentionné que vous allez nous donner un remboursement seulement si quelqu’un d’autre se présente au courant de la journée. Ne connaissez-vous pas les lois? Qui me dit que vous n’avez pas loué la chambre à quelqu’un d’autre pendant notre absence?
Nous avons dû quitter et se reloger dans un autre hôtel de la région. Nous vous avons appelé à 3 reprises à la réception et à chaque fois la même réponse, pas de remboursement.
Nous nous sommes sentis pris au piège dans un vétuste hôtel, qui à mon sens, est LOIN de valoir les 4 étoiles qui lui sont attribuées. Nous avons été coincés, car vous avez pris le paiement total sans notre autorisation initiale et maintenant après juste 1 jour, vous ne voulez pas rembourser, malgré le fait qu’à plusieurs reprises nous avons manifesté l’intérêt de quitter.
Nous attendons toujours un retour d’appel de votre part suite à notre demande auprès de la réceptionniste. Je trouve vraiment qu’il y a manque de transparence de votre côté et c’est pour cette raison que je vous écris, car nous avons fait escalader le dossier.

Super auberge, les forfaits réservés directement à l’hôtel sont très avantageux pour le prix, c’est moins cher réservé par téléphone, j’ai vraiment profité de tout les spas la piscine les saunas les massages je recommande fortement cette place pour tout les trésors qu’elle offre, mention spéciale à tout le personnel qui s’assure que notre séjour soit parfait, j’y retourne c’est certain!

Laissez-vous charmer par ce magnifique hôtel! Un vrai coup de cœur; nous y allons plusieurs fois par année. Si vous aimez relaxer dans les spas et vous promenez autour du Lac des Sables.vous allez être charmé! Et que dire des employé. E.s. Tout simplement WOW!

Chambres vieilles mais très propre et bien, nombreux spa, personnels chaleureux, ma femme et moi y sommes allés plusieurs fois et elle y est allée plusieurs fois avec des amies. J'aimais beaucoup quand nous pouvions souper d'une belle fondue sur place, maintenant nous devons sortir de l'endroit et souper en ville a Ste-Agathe, ce n'est pas si loin mais bon.après une journée de relaxation pas toujours évident de vouloir sortir

Beau propre et surtout beaucoup de petits spas intime et wow* ils sont neufs! J ai vraiment décroché, je suis encore sur mon nuage c est tellement l endroit a découvrir dans les laurentides
C est la première fois que j essai les lits avec la technologie neurobed un must! La prochaine fois je prend les massages en duo ️️️️️️️️ j ai entendu les commentaires le soir sur les masso et je suis vraiment impressionné ️

Hotel vieillot, les lits mesure 54 pouce, ce qui en fait des lit doubles et pas queen. En plus on m as obstiné a la reception que queen c etais ca.pas de restaurant, les dejeuner c est une boite a lunch. Les spa c est correct mais sans plus.

C'est un de mes endroits préféré, car l'emplacement est fantastique pour être entouré de nature. J'adore les spa pour bien me détendre.

My 2nd birthday spending it here and this time it well surpassed the first time. I had a great Birthday evening in this wonderful private room. I highly recommend the suites as it has a Lovely hot tub, private balcony, nice king size bed with vibrations and relaxation music.it was a nice bonus. Only thing it needs is more lights, a phone to contact front desk and uh a smoke ditector.this is a must. All in all I had a great time and really looking forward to coming back.

Cet endroit est vraiment super, l’ambiance est très relaxante et typique des Laurentides, un must en amoureux, nos deux coups de cœurs sont Madame Lise, qui m’a offert un café comme si on est à la maison, cette touche jai adorer et notre gros coup de cœur est Gary cet homme est extraordinaire, il s’assure que tout aille bien il va au delà des attentes.

3e visite et jamais déçu! Super belle place piscine spa sauna la plage tout est A1. Brigitte et Gary sont extraordinaire. Je recommande peu importe la période de l'année. Ça sera une 4e fois pour nous l'an prochain!

De nôtre chambre nous entendions les personne parler ds les chambre à voisinante et pioché. Peu d'intimité car leur conversation étais sur un ton normale!

Spas pas très propres. Chambre avec des grosses bulles d’ humidité sur les murs. Salle de bain avec moisissures. Frigo qui ne fonctionne pas. Réceptionniste bête comme ses pieds. Fenêtres couvertes de toiles d’araignée.
Les photos ne représentent pas la réalité. Aucune chance que je le suggère à quelqu’un d’autre.

Super service par toute l'équipe. Brigitte et Richard, des massotherapeutes qui prends le temps de soigner les petits bobos de tout les jours. Vue magnifique et chambre très confortable.

On a payé 190$ le 14 avril, ce qui, amon avis, est trop cher payé. L'emplacement est exceptionnel mais à ce temps-ci de l'année, ça ne vaut pas le coût. Les chambres sont très propres mais ouf, on se croirait en 1990. Ce qui est le plus déplaisant c'est ne puisse pas avoir une fenêtre à ouvrir. Heureusement que les spas seront changés oarce qu'ils sont sérieusement fatigués. Plein de particules blancs du spa dans l'eau.

Hotel was nice but getting a little old. The Personnel were outstanding and made the stay very enjoyable. The Personnel always went over and beyond my expectations!

Jai adorer! Gens sympathique! La personne a qui appartien l'hôtel aussi étais très aimable! Madame vous avez une très belle hôtel!

Super bon service, chambre super propre neuf au goût du jour! L’espace spa super bien aménager laissant son intimité à chacun!

Tout es super la suite le spa la piscine j'aime bien très relaxe c'est notre première nuit nous somme ici pour la fin de semaine vue c'est la fête a mon conjoint le seul dommage c'est ne pas avoir accès au restaurant mais a cause du pass vaccinale.très belle place déjà hâte a demain merci pour tout

Je viens d’y passer une nuit avec mon conjoint. Heureusement, ce ne fût qu’une seule nuit…déception sur toute la ligne. Hôtel désuet, qui sent l’humidité. Que dire du spa… rien à voir avec les photos sur l’annonce. Sauna minuscule, ouvert de 15h (heure du check in) à 16h. La chambre était propre cependant, mais aucune ouverture directe à l’extérieur, porte et fenêtre donne sur un couloir. Bref je n’y retournerai pas.

Notre séjour d'une seule nuit était vraiment trop court; personnel attentionné et agréable, petit déjeuner panier confectionné de produits frais (surtout les croissants), ambiance "cozy", beau site. On retournera sans faute.

Jai passer un agreable week end du 20 au 22 aout 21 jai rien a dire jai mis un 4 parce que dans la vie rien n'est parfait mais je recommande l'endroit les spa et la piscine exterieur tres propre la chambre aussi si javais pu y rester encore 1 ou 2 jours de plus je l'aurait fait et c'est sur que je vais y retourner et l'acceuil etait agreable merci beaucoup

We had a great 2 nights 3 days staying. Even though the restaurant and bar were closed no complaints because we were told before booking. We already miss the place and planning to go back ASAP

I wrote a review the other day and it was deleted.
My room smelt like Nair hair removal when I walked in, very unpleasant.
The room was not like was shown in the pictures. Very old and outdated.
The shower was way too small.there was no emphasis on "King Suite".
The directions to the room was a bit unclear, I had to walk through a quiet spa area to get to my room or the bar/restaurant very uncomfortable and strange set up.
Very deceiving information, I was expecting to have a private balcony considering the amount I paid.
I had also pur in the notes for special requests that it was my birthday and it was ignored.pretty disappointing!
Prior to coming I had called a couple weeks ago to confirm a reservation and the woman who answered was very rude.
However, there was a man who was at the front desk after I was unsure how to get to my room, he was very friendly and pleasant.
Other than that, very disappointed. I have stay in many hotels for less and got way more!

We stayed 2 nights here (July 26 & 27), we had the King Suite which I highly recommend. The breakfast basket delivered to your room is nice, we had it once and the 2nd morning decided to go for a hot breakfast. They do not provide dishes so we had our breakfast on napkins. We have coffee and mugs in the room but after the 1st morning the mugs were not washed or the coffee pot. I would give this place a 3 star, the only regret is that the in house restaurant is closed on Mon and Tues which was a drag, we had to scramble to make dinner reservations and many other places were closed on these 2 days. In the middle of high vacation season your restaurant should remain opened 7 days a week, at the same time taking care of your guests.

Situé face à la plage Major ce qui est très pratique puisqu'il faut juste traverser la rue pour s'y rendre.
L'hôtel est propre et le personnel est courtois.
La raison de ma note de 4 étoiles est le retard de 30mn pour avoir notre chambre et l'oubli de nous apporter notre déjeuner.

Belle place relaxante. Piscine et plusieurs spas.lit confortable. Personnels gentils. Seul point négatif le restaurant offre seulement des fondus. On doit aller manger ailleur.

I noticed a lot of the reviews here were below 3 stars but decided to give the hotel a chance regardless because I loved the fact that the beach was walking distance away from the hotel.

I think that the hotel is exactly what it advertises as, 4 stars.

You are given a new beach towel each day of your stay but I suggest bringing your own for own comfort, especially if you're planning on going to the beach across the street since you may end up soaking it within the first hour of arriving. All the hot tubs were working well, all between 100 and 105°. The outdoor pool was also heated. There is also an indoor pool and an indoor hot tub but I did not use them as it was very nice the weekend I went. At night there is also fire places you may use to sit around to keep warm and enjoy either your bought drinks from the hotel or your own brought from home. There are several hot tubs around the hotel so you don't have to worry about having to share with other visitors. The pool allows up to 15 people at a time but most people used the hot tubs during my stay. Children under the age of 14 are not allowed to use the hot tubs. The area is general is beautiful, the front of the hotel is facing "plage major" so there is a nice sunset in the late afternoon. You can also ask for a beach pass at reception to go across the street to spend the day at the beach. The beach also has kayak, paddle board and paddle boat rentals if you don't want to just go swimming.

For our room, we chose a regular sweet as we were not planning on spending much time in our room. The bed was comfortable. Each room supplied with a coffee machine, a TV with basic cable and a DVD player. We had a mini fridge and a blow dryer. There is a pull out chair that turns into a bed if you have another guest. Room is air-conditioned. Our room also had a whirlpool bath tub but did not use.

The reason I remove 1 star is because the building does need updating. The rooms are sound proofed but the hall-ways are not. You can hear people walking through out the building. The hot tubs needed some repairs; about each tub needed atleast one jet repaired but this did not stop us from enjoying the hot tubs. The alcoholic drinks given at the bar are $11-$12 each and tasted as if they had no alcohol in them at all so you're better of driving down the street to the main town to SAQ to buy your own for a fraction of the price.

I highly recommend this hotel. Staff is very friendly.

Mi-juillet 2021 - Réception froide et indifférente. Piscine crasseuse avec un épais cerne tout autour. Chambre de bain avec poils des occupants précédant. Cerne jaune autour du bol. Fenêtres pleine d'insectes mortes et de toiles d'araignées désuètes. Tapis des couloirs industriels des années tranquilles avec traces évidentes de dégâts d'eau. Plage située l'autre côté d'une voie rapide. Imaginez que je viens de me lassé pour continuer ainsi! J'en passe!

From the moment we walked in the staff is so unfriendly, unprofessional, rude and beyond unaccommodating.
We were placed in the wrong room after having paid extra for the "lakeview" that does not exist in the room we paid extra for. Totally misleading in every sense of the word. There is no food on site despite promoting a resto on site with the menu. When we got there there was only Chinese fondue for $35/ person. When asked if there is somewhere that we could get dinner from the receptionist gave us attitude and seemed super annoyed to give us any info on where we can go eat. The hotel staff told us that we can have food delivered to the hotel as they are known. After calling all the restaurants around, no one would deliver and finally at 21: 00 we had to drive to go find a place to take out dinner. To add, the morning after we asked for a simple cup of coffee once again the attitude, the sheer rudeness of the staff telling us to " Drive down to Val David to get a cup of coffee. " Another thing we found extremely disappointing is how they do not pay attention to the cleanliness in the room as we found somebody else's old coffee pods in the machine that was defective and leaking water all over the floor. I've been to motels that offer a continental breakfast and a hot cup of coffee in the morning and a smile on the staff's face. But to say that the staff at this hotel could not care any less about customer service or about offering a welcoming stay to their guests. To further explain how disappointed we were from them telling us we cannot have a massage because one of the staff is getting married to nobody working the bar and asking us to come back 3 hours later because the barmaid on site did not know how to make a "mojito". I would never recommend this hotel to anyone not even my worst enemy. This was the worst accommodation and service we have ever had. I'm disgusted beyond words.

Nous avons dû annuler pour cause de maladie notre séjour de 3 nuits et nous avons averti la gérance 4 jours d'avance. Nous avons demandé d'annuler les frais de 250$. Ils ont refusé. Ils n'ont pas voulu nous offrir un crédit ou modifier nos dates. Dans la même journée, ils ont réussi à louer notre chambre. Cet établissement nous a déçu. Nous ne la recommanderons pas.

Loved the experience. Alot of jacuzzi's so there is no shared experience with other guests which is great during these times. Also amazing pool (must be heated cause it was perfect temperature our whole stay). Great views of the beach and lake. The beach is right accross from the hotel and the hotel provides passes at least with our suite it did which means the beach is free entry. The only thing that i wish had been clearer was their menu for the restaurant says 35$ for the fondue but its not indicated per person so when it came time to the bill we were a bit shocked as its not indicative in the menu at all. For fondue you cook yourself i mean sure its all you can eat but im guessing they buy in bulk it shouldnt be that much per person for how much we ate honestly.and the fact we cooked it all and everything else was add ons so the bill went up fast. Was delicious at the time but a one time experience i wouldnt do again. Back to the hotel itself, they are quite accommodating and their breakfast served to the door is worth it. The hotel staff is really nice and they clean the rooms quite well and restock everything without missing a thing (ie coffee, shampoo, soap, towels etc). Plan to go back here over and over again. Was great because you get away from the city easily by going here. Also to mention they have wifi. To note: Cell service is spotty though in area and on the way there from the major cities and everything is closed on Monday's except 2 stores, maybe a few restaurants, the gas station and the beach. Great getaway from everything though, quiet and calm. Great little shops in area and town atmosphere is amazing.

On se demande bien d’où proviennent les 4 étoiles. L’insonorisation est tout simplement inexistante. Les planchers craquent de partout et on se fait marcher sur la tête.
De plus, pour le Prix payé, et un hôtel spa on s’attendrait à ce que les peignoirs soit inclus.
La place a un grand besoin de rafraîchissement, tout est délabré.
Les lits sont d’ailleurs d’un inconfort incomparable.
Aucune des chambres ne possèdent de balcon.
La seule fenêtre de la chambre donne sur un corridor passant, il faut donc garder le rideau fermé pour avoir un peu d’intimité.
Le seul point positif est la piscine chauffante et la la plage à proximité.

Stayed for 3 days. Overall experience was ok. Hotel is old, so lots of noise from other nearby rooms. It's a 3 star hotel with the price of a 4 star. If you want a SPA experience, better spend your money on a spa than a hotel. Staff was friendly.
