Hôtel Universel

We were booked to stay from November to May in a single king suite with a kitchenette for 160$ a night at this hotel, we chose to end our stay early after the hotel had charged us 239$ a night for a month. Which is the price of one of their most expensive rooms. After bringing up the mistake weeks before Christmas, they had 0 urgency to return the 4000+ dollars they had over charged us, claiming again and again that they needed to speak to someone higher up about getting a signature or look into it.this inconvenienced our plans for Christmas and exchanging our vehicle. They didn't offer anything to make it right. The money was returned January 6th. Anything more than 3-5 business days for this amount is absolutely ridiculous. The housekeeping staff was nice though.

This is a luxurious very clean and cozy place. Definitely worth the price. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to enjoy everything at the hotel. We arrived late and stayed only one night. Would love to stay for longer next time and try the pool, the restaurant and other amenities.

Nous avons séjourné à cet hotel avec deux jeunes enfants. J'ai appellé avant de réserver pour m'assurer que mes enfants puissent se baigner et glisser on m'a repondu oui pas de problème. Finalement la piscine est fermée de 11 a 16h, la glissade est inutilisable, la sauveteuse est hyper bete, les enfants n'ont pas le droit de gambader ou marcher trop vite. Très ennuyeux comme endroit, les chambres sont bien. Mais j'avais reservé pour la piscine pour laisser les enfants s'amuser, c'est très décevant.

Nous nous sommes rendus à l’hôtel. Il y avait une équipe sportive qui courrait dans les corridors et cognait aux portes des gens jusqu’à 2h30 le matin sans aucune intervention de la part de l’hôtel malgré de multiples plaintes. L’hôtel est responsable de faire honorer ses politiques. Nous n’avons jamais vécu une expérience aussi désagréable.

Overall, a fine hotel. We were cautious from reading a couple bad reviews, but after staying the nighr I can say that we had a good experience. It's clean, service is good, food is alright (a bit expensive, but nothing unexpected and was tasty and having it brought to your room doesn't cost extra). Because our stay was so short we didn't get to try the pool but it seemed popular by how many were using it.

Booked it last minute and got a late check in around 10: 45, staff were welcoming and ready to help. Rooms were clean and very well maintained. Also a great breakfast menu

Nice hotel for families as it is pet friendly and pool with slide. Unfortunately our air conditioner was leaking and the service guys had to replace it at 1030pm. To their credit they came right away and the two gentlemen were super nice and apologetic. It wasn't there fault.

A very good hotel. Everything is clean and tidy. Loved staying there for a night, will definitely come back.

Nous sommes arrivés et la chambre qui nous était attribuée surprise pas faite du tout. Retour à la réception, service très courtoie et pro actif, on nous a attribué une suite sans aucun frais. Wow et merci.

Room is in need of a proper deep cleaning. Actually, they should probably just renovate it. We disappointed for the price we payed

Hotel was very nice, well located off the highway. We had a suite that sleeps six, which was spacious and the two bathrooms (one with toilet the other with shower, but both with sinks) made getting ready in the morning more convenient. Also, the suite on the ground floor came with a dedicated parking spot, which was nice. The only downside was that our room was close to the elevator, and other guests made a lot of noise which could be heard in the room. Overall, pretty good value for the money we spent.

The restaurant was really good! It was a bit slow but the friendly waiter and great food made up for it! There is a pool and spa but I didn’t use it. I realized only after the fact that if you book directly with the hotel it’s a much better deal for room and dinner. Ask about their specials. I wish I knew because I booked on line with a third party.

Malheureusement le lit étais remplis de cheveux, de pouls de graines de manger. Nous avons avertis à la réception vers 16 h et à notre arrivée vers 23h les draps n’était toujours pas changé. Le lendemain on nous a suggéré d’en parler au chef de la réception et il a peine prit en considération notre insatisfaction en nous donnant un rabais ridicule. Il n’est s’est pas excusé non plus. Nous avons donc prit le courriel d’un gestionnaire et aucun retour de leur part. C’est très décevant.

Adequate rooms and service. As a wheelchair bound guest, the handicapped suites are quite expensive, and don't have access for wheelchair transfers except on one side of one bed, making it difficult for access to all. Additionally, the pool was not accessible, because although there is a lift, the lifeguard and desk staff did not know where the sling was to transfer a mobility challenged guest into or out of the pool.

Climatisation non fonctionnel, seulement une visid'un employés à 22hrs pour le remplacement.
Très décu du service, aucune offre de chade chambre.
Nous avons visité le Bar et le restaurant pour notre souper et aussi, nous pris notre petit déjeuner sur place.
Aucune offre de compensation.
Très décu de notre séjour à cette hôtel.
Aucun retour possible.

Négatif:

-Lit et divan-lit pas confortable du tout et couvertures tachées.

-Télévision avec un problème à cause d’une mauvaise configuration qui affichait une erreur tout les 2 minutes. Le “technicien” n’a put rien faire. La réceptionniste nous a refusé un rabais, car soit disant nous avons prépayé sur expédia. Ils auraient pu nous rembourser un petit montant pour cet inconvénient.

-Piscine pour les 16 ans et moins, fausse publicité.

-Très bruyant.

Positif:

-Bien placé. Épicerie et restaurant aux alentours.

Hôtel Levesque bien meilleur.

We had a very bad experience with an evening staff member. We had a long drive from NS and were very disappointed with the greeting we received. We felt very uncomfortable and considered either sleeping in our car or driving straight home another 5 hours. I do not want to give too many details of the incident as I do feel this is a one-off experience. We we're listened to the next morning and received excellent customer service from another employee at this hotel. I do want to add that we did email the general manager about our issues and still have not been contacted in regards to this. I do wish a proper follow up would have been done. I will be contacting the hotel again to discuss this further with the proper channels. Otherwise the rooms were clean. I would not stay pool side again as the chlorine smell was overwhelming and had us sleeping under our blankets all night. Not a good place for someone with asthma to sleep. We also only had 1 complimentary coffee in the room for 3 guest. These are small details but this is a 4 star hotel and the rooms are not cheap. These are details that matter. The restaurant next door was very hospitable and received us amazingly for breakfast which was offered complimentary due to the incident that occurred the night before. We didn't ask for anything so the gesture was greatly appreciated. I don't think we will stay here again.
