A scenic and historic location on both sides as Oka has the majority to see and do. Stopped at the Oka Cheese factory to pick up a few items. The ferry is 10 minutes across, however depending on traffic to the parking lot line up will wait about 15 minutes extra to disembark. The water was calm and the ride smooth all the way through. It has 3 vehicle lanes to accommodate about 21 vehicles of normal size. It is 13 dollars and you pay once on your way across.
Love having the ferry as an option however they need to control how they control the cars. You can wait for 30mins in line and see people just show pull up and end up catching the ferry before you. There is no logic on how they let cars on.
It was good and quick. The ferry comes very often so your not waiting for a very long time if any. It was fun to see the sail boats sailing around, the scene is beautiful the price I feel is fair. Also the decent ramps are nice and clean and fresh pavement with outhouses and info center. My 1 year old had a blast looking out the window.
It was sooooo lovely. Only because of COVID-19 not allowed to come out of the car. But nice captain. It was so lovely. PANORAMIC view. The day was really nice. Lucky. Not a long wait. On time. Cash only. The staff member comes to your car window once you are on the ferry and take the money from you. You stay seated in your car. Its so peaceful. Just bring your own coffee and enjoy the view in the comfort of your car. You can be on a bike or Motorcycle too. Or a car trailer too. Prices are different for different type transportation. Well organised.
Very organized ferry. Usually after 15 to 20 minutes wait in line, we are on the ferry. The ferry ride is cash only. For a car, it’s $12 for the crossing. Due to the Covid, we are not allowed to stand on the deck. The crossing is about 10-15 minutes, a very enjoyable short ride.
Love the Oka ferry, just be careful if you're towing a trailer, they try and overcharge on the length. It happened twice in a row with me so it's not just a simple mistake.
I haven't been on many ferries but this is the closest to me. Its 11$ for the car and 2$ walk on. It operates in the winter as an ice bridge. Fall and spring its closed. The guys that run it have always been nice. The upgrades from a tug boat to what we have now are excellent.
Short rides but sweet. Its one of my favorite ferries. If you are into photography, sunset and moon themed pictures are great to get here. Doesnt feel as commercial as the others i have been on. Great space if you want to get out and stretch your legs.
This ferry has evolved over the years. Went from a floating platform pulled by a boat to a nice reliable stable ferry. The time to go from one side to the other has decreased, the view is better and the ferry accommodates much more cars.
Accidentally came to the ferry due to Garmin GPS. Was wondering where I am before I noticed I already drove to the deck. And before I realised it only accepted cash, NO CREDIT CARDS, the ferry was whistling amd ready to go. So fortunately I got enough coins to pay for the ticket. Enjoyed the ferry with friendly staff and it just took about 5 mins to get to the other shore. Nice experience!
Je fait la traversée régulièrement le matin depuis quelques années et le personnel est exceptionnel et très agréable, toujours gentil, sourient et courtois. Bravo a l'équipe
Good alternative, but not for everyone and not all the time. It depends on the traffic and your destination. Waiting time can be long. You can benefit from a small walk and some nice views while waiting to reach the other side. Kids liked it as well.
Une traversée agréable dans un ambiance bucolique pour 11 dollars. Attention par contre la fin de semaine, l'attente peut être longue, trop longue, ce qui enlève tout le charme.
This ferry is a well-run business. Despite the long lineup of cars and motorcycles, one does not wait longer than 15 minutes before getting on the ferry. I found it a little pricey at $22 per car with 3 passengers (return) but all things considered, the experience was worth it.
