IGA Louise Ménard

In this period of inflationary prices, I have noticed the following at our local IGA.

PG tourtières and chicken pies used to be available in large and small sizes. The small sizes were very pratical for single people or students. This format has not been available for the past month; only the large sizes are available and of course are more costly thus more profitable.

Whole pineapples used to be available ready peeled in a very useful plastic container for $4.99. They then went up to $5.99 and then they disappeared to be replaced by a smaller container and cut in small pieces. Guess what, they now cost $6.99.

Decaf coffee by Lavazza not available for the past 3 weeks; I suppose if it ever reappears, it will also be increased even though it cost, I believe $8.49 the last time on the shelf which is expensive enough.

And if one has to buy gluten-free bread and related products, tough luck. The prices have gone through the roof.

If this is the result of the Government appealing to grocery chains to lower or stabilize prices I guess they shouldn't have bothered. And these examples are only those I noticed because I buy them. There are probably many more.

Black cashier was pretty hideous, in during lunch time on Thursday around 2: 30 She calculated like throwing things at me and stared at me without saying a word until the calculation was over. I don't expect her to say hello, but I didn't even hear the total amount. If you're angry, quit your job

She didn't say to me from the beginning to the end of the calculation I couldn't understand her angry expression. At least tell me the total, right? You have to warn her here. If I see her again next time, I will complain a very unpleasant experience

Depuis un certain temps la qualité est nettement diminuée en terme de produit (date périmée, fraicheur des légumes et fruits,) le service bcp moins présent.j'ai la chance quelque fois d'aller au IGA a Tremblant et c'est un autre monde. Je crois que après les rénovations au Provigo cela va faire changer la clientèle de place rapidement. Domage.en surplus il faudrait avoir demander a certains employés d'avoir un minimum d'hygiene pour travailler dans un magasin d'alimentation.

Meilleur IGA de Montréal, j'y trouve tous mes produits coup de coeur que je ne trouve pas ailleurs. Jamais d'attente aux caisses, le staff est super sweet!

3 caisses ouvertes le samedi a 10;30! File d'environ 15 carrosses. Il faut faire mieux au prix de l'épicerie en 2022.ya bien mieux de disponible à IDS. Aucun manager sur le plancher.

Professional service, friendly staff, super clean store. Produce is the BEST, so fresh! They had a variety of items most stores do not offer. Fantastic shopping experience! I would definitely recommend doing your groceries here!

Absolument genial. Clairement la meilleure épicerie dans les environs. Nouvelle administration en date de mars 2022 et ça se ressent dans la qualité et la diversité des produits. Je recommande à tous les habitants de Verdun/IDS

Rude and Arrogant cashier (Pegah)! Doesn't pack the meat items in a Small plastic bag, I arrived home with blood all over my bag! Does not respond to customers' questions, or answers as if she is making fun of them. I don't expect the cashiers to smile at customers, but at least they should do Their job correctly! // Caissier grossier et arrogant (Pegah)! N'emballe pas les viandes dans un petit sac en plastique, je suis arrivé à la maison avec du sang partout dans mon sac ! Ne répond pas aux questions des clients ou répond comme si elle se moquait d'eux. Je ne m'attends pas à ce que les caissiers sourient aux clients, mais au moins ils devraient faire leur travail correctement ! Merci.

The quality of ground beef was awful. Red outside really graish and unfresh inside. Not good! Really disappointed with the quality of service.

Depuis que cet IGA est passé sous management corporatif (courant 2022) c'est devenu une catastrophe.a. De nombreux produits frais périmés depuis des mois. Les produits ne sont pas replacés. Le magasin entend donc vendre son vieux stock plutôt que le jeter et remplacer.b. Des fruits souvent moisis.c. Promotions plus rares voir non-existantes dans des rayons entiers. Certains produits exclus pour aucune raison.d. Prix ne correspondent pas toujours à l'étiquette (surtaxe IDS?).
e. Certains nouveaux caissiers qui ne parlent ni français ni anglais.f. Des excuses lors des promotions airmiles qui font qu'il est impossible de les utiliser lors de la période promotionnelle.g. Gérant absent ou qui ne veut pas résoudre ni entendre les problèmes.

J'espère que cet IGA arrivera à se remettre sur le bon chemin car il était agréable avant.

Je suis une habituée de l’IGA de IDS depuis des années. J’ignore qui contrôle la qualité des pâtisseries faites sur place et particulièrement celle des carrés aux dattes de qualité très médiocre et constante. Ceux-ci sont vraiment dégueulasses, la garniture d’avoine du dessus est constituée de gros mottons pas mangeables alors qu’elle devrait être fine et uniforme et la base du dessous est vraiment trop épaisse. Ils sont vite faits, pas mangeables, bons pour la poubelle! A ce prix on pourrait faire mieux?

UPDATE:
Pretty disappointed that they don’t sell any cakes or desserts in their “locked display” counter after 5pm.

Put a sign there then to let all customers know so people don’t waste their time standing there waiting.

I stood there waiting for someone to come only to find out from someone else that there is no one to help me after 5pm.

Thankfully the manager of the store (Mr. Murdoch) came and save the day.

P/S: please stock up on your party supplies at the cake area.

There are certain items (asian instant noodles from Indonesia and Thailand, beef/lamb kofte, bread and Spanish olives) that are only available here in the island or in IGA so that would be mostly why I shop here.
Prices for certain vegetables/fruits are sometimes the same price if not cheaper than Provigo.
Le mari loves this supermarket the most, he says that it just feels good stepping in to IGA and the service is always better than other comparable supermarkets.
