ILSC Montreal – IELTS & TEF/TEFaQ

Wonderful experience, I had to do listening and speaking test for my citizenship application. The staff are absolutely wonderful, kind and helpful the center is very organized the preparation before test is easy and fast.

Highly recommended. The staff are soooo friendly! Most of the teachers teach very well, offering classes on a variety of topics.

The classrooms are amazing, nor cold neither hot. The teacher was really friendly. I'd surely come back for a longer experience

I had a great experience in Montreal with my instructor Adrien. He was helpful, and always on point. I am a native speaker who resides in USA over 27 years. I needed to refresh my French skills and pass the TEFAQ. My scores were great thanks to Adrian. Kudos!

I highly recommend ILSC for IELTS test! The staff are soooo friendly abd nice! The center is great for test. Today I gave ielts test and I apprecite the kindness of staff!

Please do not stay more than 5 months you’re not likely to learn anything afterwards, also the mixed levels make it more monotonous.

Good teaching for exams.

The teachers are great but the experience I had with most of the students was very unpleasant.

When I wanted to change out some classes they did not want to refund me not a single cent despite being here for many months and then knowing I wouldn’t learn anything new.

My boyfriend and I were supposed to take an English test (350$CA!) and the day of the test, we came without our passeport. They sent a reminder, which went directly in both our spam folder, so we were never aware we had to bring it!

They kept saying that there was NOTHING they could do for us, we couldn't do the test and we lost 700$CA! This is a whole week of work down the trash! And of course we have to rebook the test, so we need to pay 700$CA AGAIN.
It is ABSOLUTELY INSULTING, I can't believe how MISERABLE this company is.
Disgusting management, be careful because if there's ANY mistake of ANY KIND, even if it's not your fault, you are going to pay the TOTAL AMOUNT, plus you'll have to reschedule and pay AGAIN!

I can recommend. I am a lidfle aged woman who came to continue my advancement of French. Oustanding French Immersion school for adults. Excellent teachers, friendly and helpful staff, very nice facilities (zir conditioning, clean, spacious, modern), great atmosphere.

If you want to really learn French, ILSC has the best teachers to help you achieve this goal.

Highly recommended. I took TEFAQ and IELTS tests at this school. Each step was easy, fast, and clear: from booking tests to obtaining results. High level of communication.
1. The lovely and helpful testing team, and cheerful girls at the reception.
2. Very competitive prices.
3. Flexible test parts combination options for TEF (in my case was important to combine "comprehension orale et ecrite" in one day and the other day go for "expression" parts. Not everywhere you find this option!).
I think that the environment and people there played at least a little role in my high score! I felt well and relaxed so it helped me to pass well both tests.

Do not count on the accomodation provided by ILSC. No matter how many “Contact us” forms you fill in, how many emails you send, you will be ghosted for months, or get contacted by someone who is not responsible for what you are inquiring for at all. It’s downtown, so explore any other hotels/air B&B/etc.but ILSC’s own accomodation.

THE WORST LANGUAGE SCHOOL!

Dont go there, the worst proffeseurs, they just care and consider you because ONE exam, you could be level B2 but if your grammar it's not perfect, they put you in leveles 1 and 2, and if you ask to change of classeroom to a better one they'll be like "yeah yeah We'll see" and dont change you, so it doesnt matter how much you pay, they dont care if you learn

I took several English and French courses during the Pandemic. It was a great experience studying with students from all over the world. I didn't learn only languages but also had a chance to understand other cultures. Although most students loved the earnest classes and friendly teachers, some felt uncomfortable in classes for several things.

1. This school is an intense language centre. They focus on all areas of languages; grammar, speaking, learning, and writing. Even if you don't have any trouble in everyday conversation with Canadians, you couldn't promote to a higher level if you hadn't strong enough in a particular area; for example, strong dialogue skills but weak grammar.
2. School policy is quite strict; attention, late, English/French only in school. Some students can't accustom themself to them.
2. Number of students in a class. Although the number of students in a class was constantly adjusted to under 20, sometimes it reached over 15 to 18 or 19. That number was too high to accomplish effective studying in a lesson for me.
3. Shortage of staff. During the Pandemic, there was also a shortage of staff. Every request was delayed or missed. I hope this problem is resolved now.

Despite some needs to improve, studying at ILSC was one of the best experiences of my life, and this centre would be a good choice for someone seriously interested in improving language skills; if you are more interested in other things except language, you can find several others more suitable options in Montreal.

Won't recommend this center because they won't provide good headset because of that I lost my listening module

What a waste of time. I went to do my French listening test and was herded into a room for 45 minutes to wait with nothing but my passport for entertainment. Seemed as if we were having a tour of the building with all the moving into different rooms for no apparent reason. Next was the instructor drawing on the screen how to raise your volume on your headphones. I went to Point3 to do my speaking and writing test and the same check in / registration / photo process took 5 minutes and was much less stressful.

I took OET exam at this center and I highly recommend it as a pretty equipped with high tech convenient center to take your OET, the staff were very kind and understanding, particularly the OET supervisor, a pretty young girl named Patricia, who was very polite, nice, understanding and tries to calm you down and very helpful indeed. In addition, it worths mentioning that the place is very nicely designed with sound proof classes, so no annoying noises during exam to worry about as well as high quality headphones at hand. The last but not least, the OET interlocutor happened to be a Persian lady who speaks English with a very nice American accent and was very easy to follow. All in all, by taking OET at this center, you will benefit from super welcoming ambiance that will reduce your exam day stress. Wish luck in advance to all those who are going to take it at ILSC!

I wanted information on a basic LS test for Canadian Citizenship. The operator was dishonest and tried to sell me a General course, that is not a requirement, costs more and requires much more time. I would suggest applicants to use the Celpip web sites LS course.

Worst experience trying to book a course here, everytime I had a doubt I had to wait more than a day to get an answer and change the original quote they gave as the days pass.

AND COUDN'T UNDERSTAND I AM AT A BEGINNER LEVEL, TRIED TO CHARGE ME FOR THE WRONG COURSE (HIGHER LEVEL).

DON'T RECOMMEND.

UNQUALIFIED CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY JUST EXPECTED"ME" (CUSTOMER) TO KNOW THE INVOICE NUMBER AND STUDENT NUMBER IN ORDER TO GET MY REFUND. LIKE THEY COULDN'T HAVE A CLUE.

PLEASE DO YOUR JOB INSTEAD OF MESSING WITH OTHER PEOPLE'S TIME.

COVID IS NOT AN EXCUSE.

Poor poor poor communication. I've never experienced any service worse than the service in this center. Very very disappointed but I still can't find out how to solve my problem with them. Emailed BC but still waiting for their response. Thinking about contacting the British Consulate but I am not sure if it will work out or not.

Why such terrible IELTS test centre like this still exist?

First people to be blamed is BC because they accepted such test centre like this in their system.

This centre provide an awful IELTS testing service:
1.they took the test fees without any confirmation, we even didn't know our registration was successful or not.
2.inform extra requirements at the midnight right before the test (by email, not phone),
3.send result to the candidate (by mail amid pandemic) but after 1 month, there is no result delivery (note that we provide address in Montreal, and I took a same test at Canada collage, they sent me the result in 3 days after it is available online),
4. Terrible service with no phone contact (because of pandemic? Ec.), try to call there number then you will know.
5.email could be answered after 4 or 5, sometime even no reply.and never answer our questions.it looks like they copy/paste the previous email with no care about the question.
6. The offer us to request for a second copy of TRF (after waiting 1 month and nothing ensure that the second copy will be sent on time). Even it is not our fault.

We email to BC directly but still waiting for their feedback (about 6 days).

I strongly do not recommend ILSC (specific Montreal branch).
If you want to take a test, go directly to Canada College or any where else but not ILSC.

Now, we are still waiting for the TRF.
