India Rosa Griffintown

My daughter booked this place raving about it based on other reviews and photos. Extremely nice ambiance with very friendly staff. Food descriptions for the brunch looked very innovative (like all fusion). Now with fusion food (Indian base) you have to blend the spices just right and can’t be throwing Indian food into an omelette. Ok here comes the kicker, food presentation was really pleasing to the eye but can be quite overwhelming (too many ingredients on a 12in plate. I decided to order basic Indian food the lamb curry with Naan. The curry was devoid of taste the lamb was dry. The Naan was super oily, drenched in butter. My daughter’s waffle chicken said tandoori BUT it was just a normal breaded chicken (see pic). My other daughter ordered the omelette only to be laden with onions. Overall the food was so mediocre that am surprised at the 4.3 rating.

We went here with family. They saw our stroller with our toddler and outright denied seating us saying there was no space. There was not even a mention of wait time. As if it’s clear that we were not allowed here. Definitely not a place to go if you’re going with family:)

It is a bit expensive but worthy it. Not familiar with indian name of dishes, the curry actually comes with lamb, I asked them to change to chicken. Good spicy I really enjoyed. Friendly staffs, decent meal.

The food was pretty good, our server was lovely, and the decor was very beautiful, but what ruined the experience was the horrible accoustics. On top of that they had a dj playing club music really loud. Had to raise our voices just to speak to the friend sitting next to us. When we left our ears actually had to adjust to it being quieter outside in the weekend downtown traffic! It's a resto not a nightclub.there's no dancefloor. Play music, yes.but how about at a decibel where we all dont have to speak louder, and the next table louder, etc.and do something about the ceiling acoustics! Solid cement just bounces it.

In Montreal this place has the best Indian food taste wise. All masala and gravy were perfectly prepared, which most of the Indian restaurants lack in Montreal.

Deuxième visite a India Rosa, et comme a la première tout était excellent. Des plats aux cocktails.
J'y étais pour le brunch du dimanche et le poulet au beurre était très bon.
Je recommande.

Endroit magnifiquement décoré, nous sommes allé bruncher un groupe de 8. Les assiettes sont magnifiquement présentées et le tout était savoureux, délicieux et copieux. Le café latté est vraiment bon et le service était impeccable.

Je vais aller essayer en formule soir pour sur.

It's a bit splurgey, but this fusion Indian place serves up the best butter chicken I've had in this city - Going back over and over again. Their plates are so pretty and the brioche extensive cocktail list and delicious. 10/10 recommend. Also, beautiful interior design.

The food was average but OK.
The manager (or owner) was extremely rude and not welcoming.
The skinny busboy service was a joke and made us feel like he hates his job.
This branch is Not recommend at all and their customer service is 0. Darell was great and kind ️

Went here for dinner at 7, the waiter only greeted us at 7: 20 when another employee told him to.we got our drinks and tapas at 8 and only got the food at 8: 45 so we ended up staying for 2 hours.the actual food and drinks were very good.the waiter thibault told us he put pressure on the kitchen in order to get our food faster but everyone else was getting served around us so it seems they forgot about us.after asking for a discount he offered a free dessert.we declined and he was able to remove only 1 of the 2 samosas that we ordered.food was very good but i wouldnt go again solely because of the service

Food is very good, and you can choose the level of spice you want. Good variety of food, vegetarian, lamb, chicken. Nice non alcoholic cocktails and good selection of cocktails beers, all in a very spacious ambience. Only one issue, very noise, almost impossible to have a proper conversation.

Comically bad service. The food is delicious, but i truly have never had good service here, let alone average, let alone meh. As a waitress myself, it truly astounds me how poor the service is. My friends and I have an ongoing joke about it because everyone has experienced incredibly poor service here when going at different times.

The waiters take forever to come see you, let alone give you water. They also don't have a clue what's on their own menu. At my MIL's birthday, she asked what was one of the sauces on her plate when served, the waiter said and i quote " i dont know, try it! Let me know! " Are you kidding? I could go on and on because there have been several moments of similar very bizarre responses. When asking for more information about the items listed in the menu, the waiter couldn't give us a single sense for what certain ingredients were. That's okay! Things happen. But there was absolutely no effort to say "hey ill go check with the kitchen, or inform myself". The waiter just said " i dont know" and left it at that. These are the basics of being a waiter. When paying, the gratuity is at min 18% unless you manually enter a different percentage. 18% for this kind of service? Are these people being pulled from the street and its their first day?

This last time we can (again we keep going simply because the food is truly delicious!), the waitress only brought 1 of our two plates. Because we ordered two of the same, i thought there may have been a misunderstanding when the initial waitress took our order. So i said " oh actually we ordered two". She said " oh i know, i just dropped one on the way, sorry, its my second day". Again, as a waitress, thingss happen. But WHY would you bring out just one. Use that one for a table that is being worked on. Instead I waited there with my food, with my partner waiting for his. How does that make sense.

When asking for a smoothie (in the absence of a menu) i said " the one with carrot and orange" the waitress said " mango lassi" which i said didn't sound right. The waitress didn't know what was in the items at all.

The prices for smoothies are absurd. When we asked to share them in two glasses, the bartender did it for us once. Since, the waiters come with an empty glass for us to pour ourselves at our table in this giant glasses that spill everywhere. When we ask them to do it for us, they take it in back, clearly accidentally spill out some, and give us the sad remains. 11$ for a tiny bit of juice and some ice.

Overall, I would say that the other located has WAYYY better service. I would opt to go there instead. The presentation of the food, the taste of the food and the ambience is nice. However, the service is truly some of the worst I've ever experienced. Now that I've gone so many times I can say its not just a fluke, its a consistent pattern. I hope you fix this, so that we will be more inclined to come again in the future.

Au bar, on nous tasse tellement qu'on a du mal à passer entre 2 chaises. Le cocktail ESPRESSO MARTINI À LA ROSA était ecoeurament sucré. Les tapas sont ridiculement chers et n'ont rien de ouf. Exemple du CHAMPIGNONS TANDOORI à 19$ pour 3 petits morceaux de champignons caoutchouteux. 3 crevettes pour 24$ (pour le coup celles ci étaient pas si mal). La crême brulée excessivement chère avait une texture cheap mais l'accompagnement était bon. Le faux tiramisu sans mascarpone est aussi une belle arnarque en plus de ne pas être bon. Le service était assez bon et l'ambiance appropriée pour une date. Bref ça ne me dérange pas de payer le prix pour de la bonne bouffe en ville mais là, la bouffe est vraiment moyenne. J'ai l'impression qu'on paye plus la déco.

Superbe endroit chaleureux et bonne ambiance et une belle présentation de verre et mixologie. Les côtelettes d'agneaux sont un incontounable et les autres plats sont très bon aussi, à essayer!

Nous y sommes allés samedi dernier pour le brunch et c'était incroyablement délicieux! Le service était excellent et la décoration vraiment belle. J'aimerais bien qu'il y ait ce restaurant à la ville de Québec

Restaurant coup de cœur! On y retrouve une très belle variété de plats et un menu cocktail incroyable! Je recommande fortement cette adresse.

Très beau resto. L'agneau korma et le tapas de pois chiche sont délicieux. Cependant le prix du valet parking qui n'est pas affiché fut une déception total lorsque j'ai récupéré la voiture après une attente de près de 15 minutes et qu'on nous a dit que c'était $30 à part le pourboire. Pour 2 heures de stationnement c'est prohibitif.
On avait de la difficulté à nous dire ce qui était moins piquant. Le menu devrait l'indiquer comme au restaurant Damas. Ce sont bien souvent les sauces qui sont un peu trop relevés. Le tapas de morue charbonnière était trop cuite dommage pour un poisson normalement si savoureux.

We came for dinner - had previously been to the Plateau location a couple of years ago, but I don’t remember it being this good. Every single dish ordered off the tapas menu was full of flavour. Delicious!

Worst experience ever!
The waitress was so unprofessional.
All the UTENSILS were stained with finger prints. My water GLASS had a mark of Lipstick on it and the waitress did not even apologize for that (it was normal to her).
Our food took 45 MINUTES (just two plates) and what we got was totally COLD and kinds SALTY.
She did not came back to us even once to see if we need anything.
There was an annoying NOISE beside the windows (where we were sitting) which I don’t know what the source was but it made us leave the place once we were done. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!

Food is great. Underwhelming coffee! For brunch - a weak latte is a poor coffee game. Need to have a multi-fill coffee option. I had to go to a coffee shop for coffee?

First time here but my wife had been here once before. The good: the food was great. The decor is nice and open so you don't feel crowded or too close to other groups.

The bad: the service. It's was terrible. Waited 10 minutes for water, 20 minutes for tea (they did not charge me for the tea in the end) it took very long for everyone to get their drinks. The food really came through but in the end I'm not sure what's happening here, it's like a souper club wanna be but not quite. The drinks are "unique" but it's hit or miss. The pinaple Express was good the others not so much at $16 per drink I was not impressed. There's similar or better Indian food available for less.

Nous somme aller a celui de Griffontown sans réservation. Ils nous on trouvé un superbe spot aux bar avec Super service, cocktails de course et délicieuse nourriture!

The restaurant is well known for its Indian cuisine.
I booked a table 48h in advance for a friday night dinner.
The service at the door was poor as they didnt know if our table was ready or not. After 20minutes standing at the door we were finally seated.
The waitress was really helpful with the food and cocktail choices.
The food was flavourful and well seasoned. I recommend asking about the plates if they are spicy or not as some plates can be really spicy for some taste buds.
The service and the atmosphere were really good and everything went well.

At the end i can recommend this restaurant but the only inconvenient is the high prices comparing to other indian restaurants.
A plate can cost around 30$ before taxes and mandatory tips.

Portions were quite small for the price but the food was delicious. I really liked the ambiance, they have a dj as well.

We were excited to know that India rosa is now close to our place and were waiting to try. Love the vibe and ambience. I walked in so got 2 seats on the bar side (reservations recommended) They work on their cocktails to make them look pretty, I tried one and it was really tasty, it’s an upscale place so ready to spend more than usual.
Service was not too slow, everyone was working constantly and giving us updates about the order.
It was always bustling specially on weekends, was so loud with everyone talking so don’t expect peaceful cozy dinner.
Overall loved the place and food. Will definitely go again.

New big place with nice decoration. Big variety of dishes and drinks. Food is good and so are the drinks. Service could improve as in more attention, filling the glasses with water or removing the finished plates. Nobody asks you for the level of spicy, but for me it was good. Some people might like it less and others more. Parking on the street is almost impossible although there is a valet parking. Verdict: give it a try.
