Institut de l'oeil de Montreal

Le 31 septembre 2023 opérée pour cataractes aux deux yeux. Le personnel est très professionnel ainsi que Dr. Wang qui m'a revue le lendemain 1er novembre quel professionnalisme et rassurante en répondant à chacune de mes questions. Merci beaucoup à toutes ces personnes!

Fiez vous pas à le temps qu’ils disent que ça va prendre.un rendez-vous à 7am lorsqu’ils ouvrent les portes à 8: am je me pointe à 6: 30, on nous dit que ça va prendre env 2 heures pour 2 yeux (cataractes). J’attends, je m’informe vers 10am, la secrétaire me dit qu’elle va m’appeler dans 30 min, il passe 45 min, je lui demande si ça sera encore long, elle me dit que mn frère m’as même pas été opérer encore! Je lui ai dit « vous m’avez dit 30 min et là vous me dites que vous savez rien et qu’il n’as aucune complication?

I’d first like to start off by saying I’m very satisfied with the lasik surgery performed by Dr. Sameh Fanous. I returned the following year for a regular eye exam and addressed that I have some dry eye irritation. I was prescribed eye drops and, by my surprise, an additional 4 other items. These items arent medicated and are actually displayed next to reception. I was sceptical that I needed all these items, but they reassured me that my insurance would cover these extra items and continued to pile them onto me. It didn’t take long for my insurance to reject covering these items. I called the institute and they confirmed that I would be able to return the items as long as they weren’t open. I finally found the time to go in their very short and limited opening hours. Essentially it’s impossible to go if you work full time. And weekends aren’t a possibility because they are closed! I finally found the time from my working hours and made the commute. I approached the reception and voiced that I would like to return these 4 items. Another lady came and told me that it wouldn’t be possible as 30 days have passed since the purchase. I explained to her that this was not brought to my attention or else I would’ve taken time off work to come sooner. Before she could let me finish, she walked away, as if she concluded the conversation for me. I decided to voice my concerns one more time to her but she didn’t want to listen. She told me that my insurance should cover these items, since other patients have reported so. I took her word for it and tried getting my insurance to accept these items but I got refused a second time around. I am now stuck with this 220$ expense and still have these items unopened. The actual medicated drops were enough to cure my dry eye. I feel like I’ve been up charged and sold these unnecessary overpriced items. I’m very dissatisfied with the service I’ve received from the institut and am reconsidering staying a lifetime patient of theirs. I’ve already spent 3500$ on my lasik, I don’t understand why they so desperately want to squeeze more money out of me with these shady business practices. I was planning on returning to continue with annual checkups, as well as any other work that would need to be done on my eyes over the course of my lifetime. But now, I’m so disappointed with how this situation was handled, I don’t think I ever want to return. This situation could’ve been resolved effortlessly, but I guess they rather give people a hard time. This return policy is nowhere to be found online or in person.

I had surgery scheduled for 10 am and waited til they called my name.
From the reception to nurses they were all friendly and helpful.
Especially Olga the nurse she is outgoing and makes you feel very comfortable.
Sabrina as well was really nice and friendly to all the patients that she dealt with, while I was in the waiting room.
And DR Nguyen is professional and caring.

Excellent experience at this clinic. In at 7 out at 8h30 for cataract surgery. Very well organized, great nurses, awesome surgeon (Dr. Archambault), loved the light rock music playing during surgery.

Excellente clinique, à commencer par l’accueil et la rapidité de la prise en charge. Et bien sûr excellent service à la pointe des Médecins, Dr Antranik Allahourian a détecté un cas dans mes yeux et grace a lui et au Dr Fanous tout s’est bien déroulé. Je recommandé fortement cette clinique.

Belle expérience à l’institut de l’œil de mtl! J’ai été bien accueillie et bien rassurée. Tout m’a été très bien expliqué! Les réceptionnistes sont accueillants et les docteurs ont été très clairs par rapport à ma situation. J’ai eu aucune complication et on a su répondre à tous mes questionnements. Le seul bémol est le temps d’attente, toutefois, il s’agit d’une clinique et il peut y avoir des imprévus qui retardent les rdv.

This place is great if you enjoy waiting, alone as they won't let the person helping you wait inside with you. You'll also be given an appointment time many many hours before the actual time you'll be seen so be sure to bring several books and food with you.

Edit: the reply from the company indicates I am not one of their patients, they are correct. I accompanied another patient and was kicked out of their waiting room as they scheduled too many people at the same time (or, as they suggest, they rented too many surgery rooms to the public sector).

Dr Antaki est le pire médecin que j'ai vu de toute ma vie. Je ne le recommande à personne. Je suis allée le voir car j'ai une pression élevée dans mes yeux et je lui ai demandé les raisons et les préventions possibles pour comprendre ma situation, sa réponse était "va prier" et il a commencé à rire. Évidemment parce qu'il m'a vu porter un foulard. Un médecin qui porte des propos raciste, ça devient grave!

AT YOUR OWN RISK. Terrible Treatment of elderly. My elderly father went in at 9: 15 when he was told to be there at 9: 30. The staff brought him inside after a 45 minutes. Once inside, they Left him in the room for literally 5 hours once in a while giving excuse for the delay, 5 hours! He got dizzy and almost fell from fatigue and hunger all the while not allowing him to talk to my mum outside who was worried sick who was being told she just had to wait. They finally did the procedure but had to wheel him out in a wheelchair at 15: 45! This borders on elderly abuse. Because they are overbooked it’s not a reason to RISK THE HEALTH of their clients. If you’re willing to risk a similar experience book with them today. If not there’s plenty other options out there.

Je ne recommande pas du tout nous avons vu le médecin Gabriel Fannus le fils il est trop vite il nous donne pas le temps de parler il nous laisse pas s’exprimer même pas 8min pour 250$ de consultation et son père venu nous voir il nous a même pas donner le temps pour nous consulter lui même je ne recommande pas jamais

By far the worst place I have visited in my life. Most incompetent, unprofessional staff I have ever came across. I do not recommend this place for anyone even if you urgently need help.

I was very impressed by this clinic. They have highly competent staff and great service. I had a very thorough examination of my eyes and their prices were quite reasonable. They are also very diligent now with the whole covid situation. What I also really liked was how available they were - never had any issues contacting them, which is very important in any medical clinic. Definitely coming back here for any future eye issues! Thank you Dr. Fanous and team

Amazing experience, Thanks to Dr. Fanous (dad and son) for the perfect laser eye surgery it changed my life. They use the best technology (no blade).

Le 3 juin, j'ai eu une opération de la cataracte pour les deux yeux. J'ai été agréablement surprise par la gentillesse, l'efficacité de toute l'équipe.
L 'on m'a demandé quelle chanson je voulais pendant l'opération, j'ai cru à une blague mais non, j'ai choisi Cabrel et je l'ai eu. J'ai chanté, dans ma tête pendant l'opération. Tout c'est bien passé, aucune douleur. Je loue l'expertise du Docteur Perrier et je le remercie. Je recommande sans aucun doute cet institut.

No other place has treated me with such care. They are masters of their craft and will guide you through any procedure you can imagine. I go there and will continue to go there for the rest of my life. Dr Gabriel Fannous is single handedly the most courteous and proffessional optometrist that I know.

Got my lasik eye surgery done at l'Institut de l'oeil de Montreal. Process was flawless from A to Z. They were attentive, caring and really went above and beyond to make sure that the procedure was conducted with professionalism and care. A+

Pour quelque chose important que mes yeux j'ai fais le tour de toutes les autres options pour ma correction, et l'institut offrait le meilleur service. J'ai fais ma correction il y a 8 ans et je suis toujours satisfais de leur suivi pour s'assurer que j'ai une visions 20/20 pour le reste de ma vie.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Fanous! I went for a laser surgery last year. I was worried in the beginning if i would get some complication after the surgery. However, Dr. Fanous took the time to listen to me, to explain the procedures and to make me feel comfortable. The surgery went well and it has completely changed my life. If you need professionnels that will take care of you i would definitely recommend them. Thank you to the Fanous family!
