PARK'S name commemorates the name of an early leader of French colonial imperialists set on looting and plundering for the glory and swelling coffers of the motherland. For aboriginal peoples, it was the beginning of a centuries long nightmare which continues.
All the cool photos of green flowery sculptures are apparently from 2018. Now it's just an open field. Don't travel here for the sculptures. They don't exist.
No statues there right now, huge let down when we got there and tried to find them but the whole area is under construction. Don't bother going if thats the reason.
Beautiful park, loved Richard's statue, big Hockey fan and marina is small not too crowded, no bathroom here except for construction workers took over out house and even put a chain and lock around it! Asked workers if I could use it and he said no only for workers!
In summer 2021 the park is under renovation after two years of the stupid Mosaiculture exhibit. The grass is completely fenced off and inaccessible. The grass looked great; supposedly the fences will be removed soon.
No garden sculptures this year, very dissapointing. There is also some construction happening. Other than that, the park is decent and has a nice waterfront. 3 stars since its not as great as it was advertised in the years before.
The statues and sculptures have been razed. The park is good for spending a calm evening. The bed of tulip buds was the only good thing about the park.
Beautiful! We love going around 9 or 10pm and walking down to where the boats stop. When there's a full moon it's an amazing place to take photos and there are benches by the water so you can just relax and enjoy the beautiful view. Anytime we've gone we have only seen a couple people just enjoying the view as we were. Great place to walk off a big restaurant meal!
Great park and it's huge but unfortunately for me when I went there it was still early spring and there were still snow on the ground so I didn't get a chance to see those beautiful art work
Beautiful park. Love to come here with my dog. Nice path along the river when it's not submerged by the spring floods. The park itself has allot of goose doodoo. Aside from that, you get amazing views from here.
Beautiful place to spend time. You can hop on to a cruise and also trail. Parking is a bit expensive. They need more bathrooms there. Now they are working on it and you can see seasonal attractions there
This is amazing winter activities for winterlude and the botanical gardens which blocked most of the area Last summer but natural beauty is important in public places good for a walk run biking and ski good family friendly park and well maintained at all times
This is a must see if you are around. Charge your phones to the max and even take a power bank with you. It is definitely worth the admission and the parking fee that you'll pay. Leave a half day to visit this park otherwise you won't be able to make the most out of it.
