Java u Guy

Was refused service for a cappuccino 17 minutes prior to closing. Visited at 7: 43 on Monday, Aug 21.

I own a service business and that is wholly unacceptable, especially for a coffee shop. It is the employees own prerogative if they want to clean early, so they can leave early. Rinsing a carafe and brewing a cappuccino isn’t very time consuming.

But to refuse service so early was an L: (

Ambiance tranquille pendant les matins. J’y suis arrêté pendant mon cycle du matin et c’était excellent pour boire un café et faire des dessins. J’ai pris un café mais j’ai entendu que les croissants sont fait frais chaque matin. Musique en point

Tranquil place to have a morning coffee. I stopped here on my morning bike ride and did some sketches. I had a coffee but I heard the croissants are made fresh each morning. Music on point.

Bonus: il y a des places pour s’asseoir et pour se rester debout et des prises pour l’ordinateurs. There’s places to sit and to stand and plugs for computers.

Chai latte was okay but made out of a packaged concentrate, very strong and spicy though! Sandwiches are prepacked and a bit expensive. Maybe a good option if you're short on time and need something grab and go?
That being said the staff was super kind, and the space really inviting, they had chargers you could take and it seems like a great place to study!

Me: hi, I’ll have an iced americano please
Server: *zones out for 10 seconds*
Me: it’s espresso with water
Server: I know…. I have some cold espresso in the fridge
Me: great!
Server pulls out pot of espresso from the fridge and proceeds to pour a 16oz cup full of it and added ice.
Me: ummm is that just espresso?
Server: …. Yeah… espresso
Me: … can you add some water…
Server: taste it first then I’ll adjust
I take a sip and it’s straight espresso. I hand it to the server and he pours half of it back into the pot then adds water to my cup.

Idk what that guy is smoking but he was on another planet when he handed me 16oz of straight espresso LOL 3 stars for the hilarious story I told all my friends. Also I’m pretty sure he’s the owner

I loved this place. Their bagel lives up to Montreal's reputation. They are so good. They actually were the best bagel that we had in the city.

Their maple coffee is a must. I am even craving it now. It has a rich flavor. I wish we had more places like that in the States.

The service was great too. They get the food out quick.

Owner is super sweet, coffee is great. I took the J'ice since it's super hot today and for those who are fans of Tims Ice Cap, it beats it hands down! The taste of the drink is way less sugary and has more flavor definitely my go to now

This is one of the best cafe in Guy Concordia area. The place is super cozy and warm, the wifi is great, and the staffs are wonderful. My favorite is Javaccina, its really delicious!

There are some notes (very little note, tho) :
1. Sometimes different staffs makes different quality of the same drinks,
2. The toilet kind a far
3. I hope they minimize the usage of plastic, such as change the plastic straw to paper straw

It’s a quiet Coffeeshop which is great compared to all the coffeeshops around it. The coffee tastes good but I especially liked the mocha they have. I also tried the chocolatine which they freshly bake every morning. It’s delicious! The place is clean, they have wifi and the staff is friendly. It’s recommended if you would like to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee and read a book or study!

This cafe doesn't have good chairs. They are so uncomfortable. And snacks at cafe are high price.

Awesome staff, really nice and honest. I've become a regular at this spot since I work nearby. Recommend it

Je suis passée par hasard dans ce café, juste à côté du métro. Le personnel est très gentil! Je ne laisse pas souvent des avis, mais la gentillesse du personnel mérite d'être soulignée

Désolé, mon expérience cet après-midi avec service/langue a été terrible. La qualité de café était bonne. I am very annoyed in general of staff refusing service in french or switching back to English cause they don’t feel like it.

La qualité des cafés était très bien, l’endroit aussi. Le plus gros problème est que l’employée était incapable de communiquer en français. Un client a dû se faire aider d’autres clients pour commander. Ce qui était dérangeant c’est surtout que l’employée n’a fait aucun effort pour parler français, pour arriver à communiquer avec le client. Je n’ai aucun problème avec un employé qui parle peu ou mal français, mais qui essaie et fait des efforts pour communiquer, tout le contraire de ce que j’ai vu.

Caissière unilingue anglophone, pas de service en français. J'ai signalé cet établissement à L'OQLF.

Remote work experience
Great internet and access to plugs for everyone. It felt like a cozy, clean and quiet safe space to work for a while with a nice coffee:)
