Every time I come here for my medications the pharmacist Catherine is always making this complicated.

I do not need to wait for my meds to dissolve inorder for her to give them to me. I paid. She gives me everything but my medication! 2 recipts & withholds my medication.

I am a labourer in landscaping & construction and officialy start working by 7am! The pharmacy opens at 9 which causes me to be late already & having Catherine withhold my medication is unacceptable.

No other pharmacist does this. Not to mention not needed!

The only good pharmacist is Silvan. She's always on top of things knows what she's doing and even goes above and beyond for her clients.

So 5 star for her.

I always receive great customer service from the cashier who works on Saturday evenings! Great job!

I really can't stand having to ask to speak to the Pharmacist most of the time when I call the store when the person answers the phone either can't understand what I am saying and or will not answer the phone in a standard no nonsense manner.

It'a nice Jean Coutu as the staff are friendly and helpful. For being a major pharmacy, it tended to be compared to Pharmaprix, especially for this store, the one on Sherbrooke West street near Cavendish street. The price of the former is more competitive than the latter but the latter had more variety of products. Also, the aisles are tight which can be an issue if someone crosses the same aisle.

I have been going there for the last 6 years. 2 stars are for the staff on the floor, they alone deserve 5 stars. It has to be the pandemic, but the pharmacists and technicians behind the counter in the back are asking some real ill-mannered questions.

First time - I pick up medication for Rosacea. One pharmacist advised: "Don't go in the sun while using this". I replied I don't because of my Rosacea. She replies back: "Well you like someone that goes in the sun, you're red". YEAH! I have rosacea!

Second time - Pick up some antibiotics for a tooth infection. When having my pills handed over: "For which infection are these for? " I replied: "What do you mean for which infection? "

I'll keep going but there's no caring and discretion. I'll be on my guard.

This is a great Jean Coutu. The staff is great. The pharmacy and Pharmacist are helpful! Very patient and insightful answering questions and offering information.:)

Le service client à cette pharmacie est simplement exceptionnel! Du rarement vécu. Personnellement avec le gérant, M. Switzman, sur un dossier aussi banal, mais essentiel, que du simple papier de toilette. Que les autres JC s'en inspirent. Encore merci M. Switzman.

Disgusting service. They open late. Doctor tried to call in prescription was kept on hold 3 times 20 mins at a time. VERY long waiting periods.
Completely inappropriate.

Was just there. I got a lipstick that was on sale for $5.99 but the cashier charged me the $9.59 if i remember it right. So i went back & told the cashier that a mistake was done
She called a supervisor who is short and doesn't know good customer service. I told him i wanted to keep the item but instead he gave back the whole amount to me which is $11 something. He then went out to speak to a guy outside w/out saying anything. Told the cashier i told the guy i wanted to keep the item. He just continuously spoke to the guy he was with outside and asked me to wait. I just told the cashier forget it, i won't take it anymore. I was the customer he was talking to first and just left without saying anything coz even the cashier doesn't know what to do. I told that guy he doesnt have good customer service considering he is the "supervisor". I will be buying my stuff from pharmaprix from now on. Not pleased at all.

Friendly and very helpful service. Good selection of products at the usual pharmacy prices. Clean and organized location.

I really LOVE this place. The pharma staff are unbelievably compassionate and friendly, and have warmed my blackened heart on more than one occasion. The rest of the staff is great, as well, but they haven't had to put up with me crying (more than once).
Even though this place is very small, somehow they always keep an eye on their inventory levels, so when something is on sale, they keep replenishing the stock and I have yet to miss out on anything.
I think he is the manager, but there is a guy there with glasses and a beard (or the beginnings of one) who is one of the nicest people people I have ever met, and he always has his sleeves rolled up (metaphorically speaking), busy doing something in the store, yet always happy to help a customer with whatever. A+

For a pharmacy, the staff has always been friendly every time I’ve been there, the place is clean and you’ll find what you need.

Edit: If I could give 6 stars I would. The manager just ran outside in the pouring rain to give a customer a purchase they forgot at the counter.

Extremly rude pharmacists! I never met with such a bad service in my entire life! If you want to be called names, welcome to Jean Coutu NDG! Seriously, unwelcome comments coming from pharmiacists is a total shame! Maybe they are all on drugs LOL? Apart of that they abuse of old people naivity! A pharmacy not to trust at all! On top of all that cashiers will harass you if you look good! WORST Jean Coutu in all Montreal!

Friendly not fast. If you want to speak to a pharmacist give yourself 30-45 minutes you’ll need it.

At check-out, the cashier asked-me if I wanted a bag for my numerous purchases, I answered yes and then she tells-me the bag cost 5 cents. It's not the nickel but the way they trap you into buying-it; If you tell her you don't want-it anymore, you're cheap! I don't think it's not the cashiers fault, she's probably forced by management to say-it that way since I've seen this exact technique used by Bureau en gros. They should simply say: Would you like a bag for 5 cents?

It's about time I spread the news about this JC! There is a cute, short and friendly cosmetician there that always smiles and brightens up my mood every time I come in. I've been to several JC's in my lifetime but have never felt so appreciated as I do in this one. That cosmetician finds a way to speak to you as if she's your friend and is always helpful whenever I have questions about my skin. Not sure of her name but she's short, flawless black complexion and friendly. I hope you hire more employees like her. The Monkland branch isn't as friendly in the cosmetics department, and always seem as if they are half asleep. As for the Pharmacy, there used to be a rude man there but I believe he left or changed JC's because I never see him anymore. The staff at the Pharmacy are always ready to help and always have an answer to my questions. All-in-all, great JC and I hope you win some kind of award for customer service!

I am going to rate this store one star, I've used to pick up my prescription from the pharmacy. One of the staff at the pharmacy always messed with my file and for the refill argued with me for no reason. I remember one time she gave me so much attitude which I never went back again.

Even since the renovations, there is so always empty boxes at the cosmetic section, such a mess! I asked this girl that why on the JC website mentions that you carry some cosmetics products at this specific location, it is not. She was so bothered by the fact that I asked her a question, as if she was doing anything useful just cleaning store shelves. Anyhow, it is just misleading to post products online, but they do not carry them in the store.

I sort of agree with the poster below you felt exhausted after leaving but I think it is partly the language barrier and the strange provincial insurance system which has a deductible based on the monthly not accumulated annual cost of the prescription and not based on your 150 line on tax return and then going on about budget as if it were same as income; at least this time someone took the time to explain it to me; last time I was told it was too complicated and I didn’t need to know anything more than what was on the receipt. Everything I said felt like it was being contradicted, attacked or misunderstood and I had to over-explain personal situations like not having a doctor and having to go to a walk in clinic which I felt was an invasion of my privacy considering we were having a public discussion almost under the privacy act sign. Then the cash register in the back wasn’t working so I had to go to the front. At the beginning he asked me if it was weekly or monthly and he proceeded to look through a bunch of bags hanging on the wall before he looked in a bunch of containers and it felt chaotic partly due to the language barrier but I did get the right prescription. I was trying to find out if it would be cheaper and faster if I bought three months at a time like in BC because you save on the $9 dispensing fee for two months. It wasn’t pleasant or easy to find anything out cause when you asked about one thing he would talk about something else or make a comment about something obvious like it depends on your budget so you never felt like you were on the same page. The experience was exhausting and not pleasant like shopping for regular stuff at this store. Sometimes shopping for regular stuff is a slow process since one clerk doesn’t acknowledge that you are waiting and you feel like you are being ignored for around five minutes before she acts like she is lowering herself to serve you. The Coutu on Monkland is bigger, much faster and usually busier. If you just moved from a province like BC where pharmacare is income based you are in for a huge shock which of course is not the drugstore’s fault. Got photo done there and they were nice enough to do them over again but then they got the date stamp wrong he had to wipe it off and left a smudge on the back while he was talking to someone at the desk. Things can get really cramped in this store and add the condescending way they talk to you at times, feels ghetto.
