I gave 5 stars mainly for the value you get out of what you paid for. I ordered #12 and you get A LOT of noodles and beef from it! Taste wise, I'd grade it a little under 4 stars, mainly because there isn't enough flavor. It isn't particularly salty, not spicy, kinda everything in the middle. Leaving nothing impactful.

For their #12, I'd suggest the owner thoroughly rinse the noodles before serving, you could taste the "soapy" flavor from it.

Their MI cha is good, it tastes pretty much like 濕炒牛河 ("Chinese" wet stir fry beef with vegetable). Recommended.

Their "Beef with Rice" is also pretty good, although it says "rice" is actually rice vermicelli. The dish itself is pretty much like the Vietnamese "Bún" combo.

I took Number 11: Salad Num Banh Chok, it tasted very much like my authentic yeiyei's and my ming's version!

We waited a bit but it was very much worth it, soooo much flavour and the presentation was neat! It's clear that it was made with a lot of love <333

PS. Also THE BEST Spring Rolls I've ever tasted from a restaurant. Spring rolls are usually a miss in most asian restaurants because they're made cheap but these are REAL QUALITY spring rolls, DELICIOUS!

Je suis contente de retrouver ce sympathique casse-croûte cambodgien abordable et authentique dans ce coin où il y a peu de restaurants asiatiques qui ne soient pas une chaîne! Je reviendrais.

We loved the dishes, the very fast service and the place was very clean and tidy, with a small parking lot which was appreciated. We loved everything we ordered, my wife ordered flat noodles and I ordered beef, the meat was super juicy and very soft, the soup very tasty. We left very happy and satisfied with the portions and the flavor.

Incredibly unique, tasty (not salty) Cambodian food! I was a bit scared that the food might be too salty with umami but I was mistaken, and this was by far one of the freshest servings of Asian dish I've ever tasted

Super restaurant dans le vieux sainte-rose à Laval. La nourriture est excellente. Excellente rapidité pour la préparation alors ce restaurant est mon go-to quand j'ai envie d'un take-out rapide en revenant du travail. Toute ma famille adore

Découverte du jour en me baladant à Ste Rose. Le plat que j'ai choisi est le Cha Loc La, c'était délicieux. Les prix sont abordables.
Seul bémol c'est la décoration du lieux que je trouve sommaire. Je n'ai pas été transporté au Cambodge en y allant et je trouve ça dommage.
Un parking d'une douzaine de places devant le restaurant c'est impeccable

Always a pleasure to stop for a quick tasty meal or some takeout. Everything is prepped in house with care by a dedicated family. The Gen Tao with spice is awesome.

Note: We like the loc lac here. Also nice texture of vegetables and flat rice noodles/egg noodles in mi katang and mi cha. Generous portion of protein/beef in pad see ew, and a rather healthy option (i.e, not much to nil oil, obviously not salty, not sweet (for gentlemen I suppose) and in general for those who prefer light taste/light seasoning in some modern (Southeast) Asian style cooking, plus the Quebec-signature "ubiquitous chewiness" - not everyone's cup of tea but it is prevalent in our province not sure why). Tasty fried rice especially when the oil is new. Nothing (as far as the food we've tried so far is concerned) has weird continental Southeast Asian smell/taste. Doesn't deceive/trick or mislead potential customers by using terms such as "Hong Kong", (thereby my inferred Toronto/GTA- and HK- style) "Chiu Chow". Nice owner and staff. Situated in a scenic part of Laval which has character. I actually quite like the neighborhood; it's like going on a romantic excursion with Samuel (past anniversary dinners in Vieux-Ste. -Rose (and farther south (Vieux-) Ste. -Do). Driving/traffic starts to get busy quite early in the afternoon - plan accordingly. 5 stars because of the loc lac, the fried rice, as well as the nice texture and the usually excellent wok temperature of the mi katang flat rice noodles (even take-out), the latter rarely found in Montreal/Laval.

P. S. Unrelated to Khmer Express Laval but just curious - there's this unfamiliar, sometimes offputting/nauseating, typical Mainland Chinese smell/taste/oil we encountered in some Mainland Chinese restaurants in Montreal (even in one "hip" Korean restaurant downtown). Is it a provincial thing? Not Shanghai (nor Beijing) I suppose not.

Khmer Express is ridiculously good. Today was our first time there and it’s all you can hope for. Super clean, fast, absolutely delicious Cambodian and pan-Asian food at excellent prices.

Service agréable et très bonne cuisine cambodgienne. Respect des goûts. Quantités généreuses. Prix raisonnables même en 2022. Stationnement, ce qui est un luxe à certains moments dans ce quartier!
