Delicious food, quick service and kind staff. After numerous visits I have yet to have a bad experience. The food is great and reasonably priced. It’s a chill vibe in there and the staff is very very friendly. Would 100% recommend

As a mexican this place feels like home, awesome food, excelent service and drinks were so good, you shouldn’t leave without trying pastor tacos and tres leche cake

Delicious tacos and great service. I came here with 6 other friends and they were able to find a table for us at the patio. The tacos were delicious and they also have some cool specials, and had plenty of plant-based options for my vegetarian friend. Comfy place to chat and enjoy some Mexican.

Went there with a friend yesterday, we both had a wedding today and we are both sick now. Food was probably expired but regardless, worthy of a 1 star to mess up our important event.

It seems like such an odd little place; a mexican restaurant in the heart of chinatown.
But we were pleasantly surprised by this place! We had the quesadilla and margaritas. It was so good that we came back the next day for 2nds. Would def recommend the shrimp tacos.

Once you've had a mouthful of their scrumptious tacos, you won't be able to resist placing another order. The service was top-notch, with a fast and friendly server who was helpful throughout.

The pastor tacos stood out with their well-cooked and incredibly flavorful meat, while the perfectly cooked shrimp tacos impressed me with their delectable taste.

The ambiance is nice despite being a small resto, authentic music too! The tacos are so good, it's almost sad that there's only 3 in the plate. Would be cool to have options like platters to share with another person. Tasty, I recommend.
The appetizers are little pricey for the quantity but full of flavour.

Visiting Montreal. Went yesterday to eat tacos with the family, and had to repeat today. Don't miss the birria. BEST!

A taco restaurant in Chinatown? Didn’t make sense to me at first but turns out this is a great spot for a few tacos and a good cocktails. Has a nice vibe on a hot summer night. Small-ish spot so easier if you’re only a couple of people.

Amazing margaritas and tacos! Too good! Definitely coming back here again! Our fav was their braised beef tacos and shrimp tacos! Our belly was happy:) must i say our waitress claire was awesome!

The store is too good. Food is amazing and the staff is extremely friendly.
PS: if you can eat hot sauce straight on your hand you get a free shot.

What do you get when you mix fresh guacamole, savoury beef dipping sauce, excellent quesadillas with a fun, friendly, quirky serving staff? - A delicious authentic tasting taco joint in Montreal's Chinatown (for some reason). No need to make a wish for awesome tacos at the tree across the street, just walk into La Capital Taco

Horrible experience. Service provider wouldn't come to take order (I kind of understand this since it was busy) food was super oily, hot sauce had gone bad - it kept bubbling out of the bottle, lots of insects.due to the above experience, I did not give any tip to the server. He (name withheld for privacy) had the audacity to tell me to never come back again if I can't tip!? Not sure why should I offer a tip if I didn't like the purpose of my visit to the restaurant, period. The person in rage offered me my food money back - since I didn't like the food, which I happily accepted.

I demanded (not requested) contact information of the owner and was told he lives out of country (in France). Demanded again and was given an email which I'm highly confident that it does not belong to the owner hence will not bother to send an email.

I'm not from Quebec, just a tourist visiting from BC. Will never ever go back to this restaurant and will recommend people to look for other alternatives before going here

Edit 1 - as suspected, email offered on the day was incorrect. Contacted owner via email from Facebook where contact information is listed. He replied back to me with a very casual email and was reminded that this is not at all a casual incident.

He understood the severity of the incident and gave me a call. He told me next time I visit the restaurant, the person will not be working anymore. As this was not my intention, I decided to drop off the matter.

Me and my girlfriend visited from a small town and we were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food and the service from the bartender. I'd highly recommend this spot to anyone who thinks they can eat 3 rounds of quesadillas!

I had the braised beef tacos and the pork tacos, they were both very juicy and delicious.sometimes taco places can serve them quite dry, not this place. The staff were very friendly

Mexican approved! Is notorious that they've improved their recepies, Gringa al pastor, Birria and Stake tacos are delicious! Will come back soon. Don't forget to try Horchata

Great service. Delicious Birria Tacos. Got to try the shrimp tacos as well. Delicious. Ordered Jarritos Mandarin but got Tamarind instead.

J'ai mangé 2 fois là. Une fois sur place avec le menu classique et une fois à emporter avec les tacos birria. Les tacos classiques étaient bon mais sans plus. Pas contre très déçue des tacos birria. Le consommé était très fade.

This place was just fantastic! It has a really laid back vibe, amazing cocktails and even better food. They don't except reservations and this place can get really busy at peak times. We went on a Thursday evening around 6pm so it wasn't too bad. I had the calamari taco special and it was the best I have ever had. I also recommend the cheese roll as a side -especially if you like cheese, you'll love this.

Probably my favorite place in Montreal to have tacos. The menu is very straightforward but the food is absolutely amazing. Note that the place gets quickly packed, so you might wait a bit if you are a group.

Just wow. Who would have thought you can find the real Mexican flavor right here in Montreal.everything is great: service, tacos, guacamole, cocktails (Margaritas!), atmosphere, etc. Try it out!

Small, hip restaurant with a decent bar and cocktail choice.
The menu is simple, all tacos, a couple of pork ones, one beef, no chicken. Some with shrimp too.
These are traditional style small, soft tacos. The shrimp tacos were very tasty, and the beef one was well cooked but lacked taste.
The starters we had were good; the cheese thing which is a hard crepe like thing, and the refried bean more of a dip, but VERY good with a generous portion of homemade tortilla chips.
Not the expensive overal.
Would go again. Maybe not every month though.

Great value and cost-quality ratio. The food is the real deal. Tasty, sophisticated. Great service. Fun casual locale. Tried fish tacos and mole and mushrooms. All great. Tostitos and chips with the guacamole are (I think) home made or some excellent brand. Highly recommend. PS: who would think a Mexican place in Chinatown.glad I tried it

What an amazing taco restaurant. Great vibes, excellent service, and some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. Simple yet incredibly flavourful, I can’t wait to try them all.

The food was flavourful and tasted fresh. The prices are reasonable and the service very friendly and fast. Will come back again to try more of the menu.

Having seen highest rating and good reviews we decided to try this place. We ordered cocktails, guacamole, chips and mushroom tacos. The worst tacos and chips I have ever had in Montreal. Mushroom filling was very oily, chips were very hard. Very disappointed with the food we wanted to try basic potato fries, half the serving bowl was filled with oil (we returned it and we didn’t have to pay for it). Only thing we liked was coctails and I noticed that non vegetarian tacos were not very oily. Maybe this place is not for vegetarians.

Après avoir essayé une demi-douzaine de restaurants Mexicains à la recherche de tacos les plus proches a ceux que l'on sert au Mexique, je trouve que ceux du Capital Tacos sont les plus proches. Si je ne donne pas 5 étoiles c'est a cause du manque de condiments a volonté. Au Mexique, on peut s'attendre à avoir des quartiers de lime, un choix d'au moins 3 sauces, du cilantro frais, oignons hachés frais et compagnie. Le tout à volonté et à se servir soi-même. C'est ce qui contribue grandement à la saveur et la popularité des tacos et aussi ce a quoi je vais m'attendre à être servi dorénavant avec ceux-ci. Au CT les condiments sont fixes pas tres genereux et on en a un surplus sur demande. Je comprends malgré tout le défi que cela doit être au niveau restauration et je dis un gros Merci et Bravo au Capital Tacos pour l'effort. Aussi, un item "Secret" du menu ce sont les sauterelles grillées.

Ordered a Quesadilla and two orders of tacos, the quesadillas are the only thing that stopped this being a 1 star, (they were good). No seasoning or spicing on the meat in the tacos, practically no salsa, so just unflavoured meat in a taco, literally no flavor. Informed the staff, they didn't care. Don't bother.

Edit: Oh, and the owner just posted that this post is fake. I think that goes to sum up the experience we had last night, you'd think that they would want to improve what they did rather than deny their poor service and food. You can find my review of this on trip advisor as well as all my other reviews on my trip across America and Canada. For the owner, we got to your restraunt at about 9 past night, I was the English guy with the large red beard. I'm not fake, you should be ashamed.

Very tasty tacos, especially the mushroom ones. The jicama + carrot salad took me back to my time in "el DF". The agua de mango + guava was also super tasty.

Best tacos yet in Montreal! We ordered: carnitas and cochinita pibil tacos, chips and guacamole, and refried beans, Modelo and Lafontaine beer. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, the portions were generous, they served homemade tostadas and guacamole, and kept great tunes going. It's just what a taqueria should be.and more! Top off the great tacos with a decent beer offering including craft beer, and/or flights of tequila or creative cocktails.and you've got something for everyone. We'll be regulars soon!

Great tacos place in Montreal city for casual Mexican fast food, ironically located in China town, who would guess? To be honest in terms of taste it is as good as if you were buying it from a Mexican tacos street stand. They do not have that many options but enough to satisfy even the most difficult palate. The sauces are made in-house and are hot and decent in flavour. The ambiance is noisy but with a nice crowd vibe from millenials and hipsters. The decor to my taste is simplistic with few Mexican items. Staff is friendly and helpful. Also, be sure to arrive before 8 pm otherwise you will be waiting approximately for 20 min for a table since the joint is small and busy. My verdict, if you want an authentic quality taste of Mexico at a decent cost ($$$) these tacos have it all.

The taste is there. However. This mess cost 16$, including a “service fee” and “takeout fee”. Wait staff was rude and uppity for no reason and seemed put out that I asked what was in the taco. Do better people

Absolutely awesome! Plain and simple. Both the food and the drinks are the best. You can't really visit Montreal without visiting at least once.

L'endroit est souvent bondé et il y a de l'attente à la porte. Les tables sont très rapprochés et l'ambiance est très décontractée. Le menu est simple avec quelques entrées et plusieurs choix de quesadillas ou tacos. Les portions sont correctes, les sauces très bonnes et le choix de boissons contient la Tam tam, une excellente bière! J'aurais donné 4 étoiles si ce n'était pas des prix qui sont selon moi un peu élevés pour l'expérience globale.
