La Cohop Saint-Laurent des Arts

Bel endroit pour les artiste peintre du secteur le concept de coop d'art est bien intégré malheureusement le matériel vendu sur place demeure assez générique et peu spécialisé à moins que vous ne vouliez faire de l'huile ou de l'acrylique. Le service lors de mon passage était médiocre, espérons qu'il soit meilleur lors de ma prochaine visite.

Cool little underground shop. I understand that it is a small biz, but 12 dollars for 250 ml gesso, (7.99 for 750 ml elsewhere!) It should be made of gold for that price.

Bon choix de fournitures artistiques.
L'extérieur ne paie pas de mine, mais une fois passée la porte du sous sol, on trouve ce dont on a besoin pour le dessin ou la peinture.

The place is dirty, choice is scarce in the oil, and the prices are eye-gouging. Some tubes leaked so much they're stuck to the shelves. I will never go there again lol

Mauvais service, prix déraisonnables, n'y allez pas!

Owner brags about his prices/materials and doesn't listen to your needs. Turns out he doesn't know about modern art supplies and uses the fact there is no price tags on his items to sell them twice the price of their value.

I called 45 minutes before closing to see if they had an item so that I could hopefully make a trip over and purchase. He said that he was helping another customer and could not help me. Fair enough, on the first part. I said that I could wait but he left me on the phone for 15 minutes during which I could hear that the customer was done and and left. I hung up and when I called back, the phone was no longer engaged but no one answered for the next 30 minutes. Perhaps it's just that he forgot and then he closed up early or the posted time is incorrect but it was very frustrating.

The staff helped me with choosing the right canvas. Very nice people and many selections of products.

Im a beginner artist and the staff there walked me through the store and helped me pick out all the products I needed from my list. Their products are nice too!

I like to pop in here when I'm in the neighbourgood because i love the vibe of this place, plus they sell certain art supplies I haven't found anywhere else. But the lack of prices on anything is annoying and inconvenient, and they're rather pricey.
