La Maison Bulgogi

So far this is the most authentic korean restaurant in Montreal. Kimchijjigae was scorching hot as it should be, very generous amount of beef in Kalbi Tang and new interesting dish Mun a Muchim - cold salad with octopus, definitely should try if you like seafood with sweet-sour sauce. Banchan were delicious as well. The place looks simple but cozy. Prices are surprisingly moderate. Overall you definitely should try this place:)

The food was excellent. Fried Man Du was awesome. The Dolsot Bi Bim Nap was also very good.

Cold side dishes 2nd refill will be charged extra.: ( (disappointed)

I love the black goat stew! To nitpick could be the Teriyaki sauce was added too much on salmons, which tasted salty to me personally. The steam dumplings were a bit over-cooked.

The owner offered us awesome services.

I suggest you make a 2 page menu max. Only offering the best dishes, because keeping the bad ones will make you loose clients specially when they’re trying for the first time. Even though I feel like wasting my time trying to help the owner…
The best dish to order here is Gam Ja Tang (pork and potatoes soup), the rest is not worth it.

Ordered seafood soon dubu jigae - only found one shrimp and 3 squid pieces that shrunk to almost nothing. I asked if this is normal portion and it's their standard practice. Egg on top became overcooked. The rest was tofu.

Kitchen is open concept, which is pretty cool if there's actual cooking more than microwaving.

Server was extra nice to only those who spoke Mandarin. Staff are all Mandarin speakers, a tiny bit of English, no French.

Black bean sauce noodle are ok but fried chicken are not crispy at all and even tasteless.

Tried the Korea bbq with the wife and kids, and it did not disappoint. I'm sure it's better atmosphere other nights when the place is full, but we were there for the food.

The food was amazing. Had the #4 and steamed dumplings and fried squid and my partner has the kimchi stew and it was perfect.

Restaurant with long menu, not all items are good. However, I usually stick to their specialty, the Gam Ja Tang. It is generous, reliable, and satisfies my occasional craving. Tried their Duk Bokgi today, it was pretty good also. Beware of those spicy dishes, they are very spicy yet addictive?

I ordered Jae yuk bokum. Spicy fried pork in a thick spicy sauce. At least that's what it's supposed to be. Meat was all fat and drowning in soup. It wasn't even good pork. I asked for sauce and leaves on the side. They did not come with the order. Didn't even taste good. Disappointed.

Ordered #18 Dolsot Bibimbap.

Very good taste: add spicy sauce as needed, not salted, mouth not dehydrated afterwards (I it).
The overall meal was quite balanced (there's rice+, vegetables+ & meat+). Excellent for digestion.

Of course, all this is possible with the professional cooking skills & delicate sevice.

The atmosphere.it reminds me of my childhood.

Great location and I like the food that I had. However, I saw few cobwebs near the entrance where we’re seated.

It was good, the food was good, they didn't take too much time, proportions are good, prices are reasonable.

We ordered two dishes: bibimbap and a spicy sweet and sour fried seafood. The bibimbap is ok but the seafood dish is just spicy, not sweet or sour.

Commande seulement en livraison, mais restaurant absolument délicieux. Très bon rapport qualité/prix. Les plats sont généreux et savoureux.
Authentiques plats coréens, ce restaurant fait clairement partie des meilleurs coréens que j’ai goûté à travers le monde.

Haven't been there for a decade. It seems like they've changed owner. It is not authentic korean food anymore. I was really disappointed for my take out. The seafood pancake was acceptable. But the beef bulgolgi rice taste like chinese beef sauté with mushrooms. I've ordered a sweet and sour boneless fried chicken, it was horrible! When ordering this plate in other restaurants, the sauce is red, taste sweet with a touch of sour. But this one was a translucent brown sauce, taste mostly vinegar and a bit sweet. The side dishes was still frozen when I get home which is a 20min ride. If it is frozen food, does it mean it is not fresh? But surely it was fresh from the freezer. The kimchi and the marinated chopsuey was saggy after defrost. Don't waste your money. It is strongly not recommended.

I got a meal delivery - beef bibimbap. Overall it's is good, but not as tasty as eating it from a hot stone pot. And I prefer the egg to be a bit runny to mix the rice (which I think most restaurants do it).

I really liked the dishes and service, excellent area very close to my home. The employees are always very kind. Will come visit again.

Good comforting food, friendly staff. However, they should give more attention to the cleanliness.

Oxtail soup was basically just flavorless boiled oxtail in a bowl of hot water – hardly even a soup, really. Side dishes were of poor quality. Beef tartar seemed quite 'off'. Upside is that staff was friendly and fried rice was passable. Unlikely to return here, though.

Hey, saviez-vous que les nouilles de type ramen faites maison goûtent 10 fois meilleures que les nouilles ramen sèches (tsé, celle que tu fais avec l'eau bouillante?). ️Pis saviez-vous que des crevettes tempura, c'est méga "fluffy" pis croustillants? C'était vraiment trop bon! Et ils avaient tous les plats que je voulais manger! (Parce que moi, je suis tellement influençable avec la bouffe). Si vous aimez ça piquant pis voir une gang de gars se démener dans la cuisine, faut y aller! Sérieusement, vous ne le regretterez pas. Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas la nourriture coréenne, allez-y, vous serez enchantés, juré! Pour ma part, rien à foutre du décor et qu'il baragouinent le français, y essaient quand même! ️

Edible but I felt like the meat went bad.
Also got literally 1 broccoli in my beef noodle vegetable plate, I find that pretty funny. Service wasn't good, and he served specific people first, even though I came in the restaurant way before anyone and got served last. Never going back, this is in my blacklist 100%.

Si le bibimbap ou le kimchi vous tentent, venez donc chez Maison Bulgogi. Les plats ont la piquance voulue et le service est bien. L'endroit a toutefois une apparence délaissée, à croire qu'ils ne s'efforcent pas de faire le ménage. De plus, les tables ne sont pas nettoyées assez vite.

Decent food and it's nice to see a manager worry about ensuring his staff are providing the best possible level of service.

Always delicious, fast and piping hot. We love the rice and pork dishes in the stoneware, always order the same thing. But now we add the seafood scallion korean style pizza, it is to die for!

I tried the Bulgogi for the first time it was delicious and now I'm hooked. I walked by this restauramt so many times and never thought of trying it, that was a mistake. This place is perfect. Very cozy, the staff is cool and friendly. I would live there honestly.

The food is absolutely terrible here - the menu has way too much stuff which is in itself, overwhelming and everything is just a hodge podge of Asian dishes. None of the food my partner and I ordered was even remotely close to what Korean food should taste like.
My cold noodles (nangmyun) was warmer than room temperature because they clearly didn't rinse the noodles in ice water before dropping it into the broth. It was over-flavoured and they didn't have the mustard you typically put in this dish to kick up the spice.
The chicken (kkampoongi) we had was soggy and misflavored. They just put some corn starch, sugar and chilli flakes together, missing the entire point of what this should taste like.
Please DO NOT GO HERE if you want to try Korean food because Korean people don't even cook at or own this restaurant. It's a complete misrepresentation of Korean culture and cuisine.
