L'Aubergiste Resto Bistro

We ordered tacos and considering the price, this was a poor deal. Dry and to much salt. No real effort to elevate a very simple dish.

In addition, the fries were not freshly cooked. Microwave perhaps.

Not a place to go if you just want to meet for drinks. They insisted that we order at least one food item.

The chairs are worn and could use a replacement.

I won't be back.

Cozy atmosphere and good beer but the positives end there.food was decent but there were a few things that made us question the cook's commitment to serving good food. For the price we pay now for food and service in general, everyone should be playing their part. Disappointing for our celebratory dinner.

The service and attention was amazing! The food was beyond exceptional! My boyfriend and i will definitely return.

They have reduced the number of tables inside to accommodate up to 5 parties of 4, with additional seating in their covered patio. Menu has been reduced, so make sure to call and confirm if your favourite item is still available. Same great staff and food!

Still going strong post-pandemic. The menu still has their signature dishes. Same great atmosphere. A perfect stop on your way out to see the sunset at the Aylmer Marina.

Poutine is excellent, fish and chips is decent - but they charged extra for extra ketchup for our son. Amount was insignificant, but it was a surprisingly penny pinching policy for a restaurant of its kind.

I'm not normally one to write negative reviews but I believe in this case, it is necessary. My husband and I live close by and decided to try L'Aubergiste after hearing a number of positive reviews. The food was mediocre but the wait staff were absolutely awful. Not only were we "scolded" for moving tables (after given permission) but the wait staff basically avoided our table for a majority of the evening and we were left searching for our waitress in order to pay our bill at the end of the night. When we found our waitress, she was busy playing on her phone, didn't acknowledge us, and the hostess was left "ringing us through". Shortly after we paid the bill and were headed out the door our waitress yells at us across the restaurant "THANKS FOR COMING IN! ".
Needless to say, we won't be wasting our hard earned money here ever again.

Je donne la note de deux étoiles pour l'excellence de la nourriture. Par contre, le service et l'accueil a été pour ma part très médiocre. Gros manque de professionnalisme de la part de la serveuse qui nous étais attribué avec aucune belle façon. C'était la première fois que je m'y rendrais et je n'y retournerai pas!

Short but excellent menu, reasonable prices, great service. Had the fish tacos, excellent! I strongly recommend.

Un trésor caché dans le secteur Aylmer de Gatineau. Leur menu n'est pas très élaboré, mais absolument tout est bon. Leur poutine au canard confit me fait. À essayer!

Mauvais accueil et mauvais service. On dirait qu’ils ne veulent pas de clients. Aucun sourire. Le repas était ok mais trop de sauce tartare et pas assez de frites. C’est très long pour la facturation et pour payer avec la machine

Pour le tartare je donne un 2 étoiles.

Wow! Notre repas fut excellent. On a débuté avec les crevettes en entrée, suivi de tacos de poisson. Tout était frais, goûteux et la présentation impeccable.

On a terminé le tout avec une crème brûlée parfaite.

Et que dire du service.encore Wow.

On va sûrement y retourner (bientôt).

Petit bijou de resto à découvrir! L'atmosphère que crée Véro et son personnel en fait notre lieu préféré pour décompresser devant des plats savoureux d'une présentation magnifique après une dure semaine, ou pour célébrer un évènement en toute intimité. I've lived in Aylmer for years and have never tried L'Aubergiste. For Mother's Day my husband treated me beef tartar and wowww. This will be my main go to place from now on. The food was beyond delicious, the customer service was on point, and the price was unbeatable! Merci beaucoup ️

Food was great. I especially liked the poutine. Although there was one waitress who ruined it for my wife and I. We felt pressured to hurry and she wasn't welcoming at all.also once we were served she did not check on us once to see if things were alright or if we needed anything else.
It was the first time in years we got the chance to get away from the kids for a date night. It was disappointing that this was the end result of our evening.

Dined in, great service and friendly staff, and the food was delicious. I will be returning.

Ordered the Classic Burger and tuna tacos.

I was very excited to eat at this highly recommended bistro and it was pretty good. However, everything is relative and I can say that I have had better burgers elsewhere (The Diner on Wellington or 5 Guys). I will try more of their food and update this review as necessary.

Le staff est vraiment gentil et à l’écoute. Nous avons eu de bons conseils. À cause de la covid, le menu est un peu plus limité mais les choix sont variés tout de même. Nourriture de bonne qualité et bons vins!

L'Aubergiste offre une petite sélection de plats assez variés dans un environnement élégant mais comfortable. La sélection de boissons est bien choisie et très diversifiée. Les prix sont très raisonnables. Le service est attentionné et courtois. Il s'agit certainement d'un des meilleurs restaurants d'Aylmer.

Situé dans le Vieux Aylmer, beau bistro restaurant, très bonne table, service sympathique, rapide et jovial. Je vais y retourner sûrement!

Comme on dit parfois, "petit mais complet. " Un menu intéressant et diversifié, un bon choix de bière et vins, un service avec le sourire, efficace mais juste assez présent. Autrement dit une belle expérience. Ce n'était ni la première ni la dernière.

Went here for my 18th birthday. Staff was incredibly friendly and the food was amazing. Gave me a free shot for my birthday.

Première visite à l’Aubergiste et nous y retourneront! Quoi que petit, l’Ambiance est de style pub, cozy, rassembleur. Excellente nourriture: tartare de bœuf tendre, frais, goûteux! Poutine. OMG! Meilleure poutine au canard avec prosciutto, fromage en grain à profusion, frites croustillantes, sauce onctueuse. Hamburger l’Aubergiste copieux, frites croustillantes et chaudes. L'endroit est petit mais très bien aménagé. Le menu est varié et la nourriture est savoureuse et bien présentée. Le personnel est courtois et accommodant.

Very fancy and high class, didn't know such a restaurant existed in Aylmer lol. It's a bit expensive, but honestly worth it, lots of different kind of food, as in seafood, meat and a vegan plate as well. I personally really enjoyed the poutine de l'aubergiste (duck and various meats). To top it off, everyone ordered creme brulée for dessert, it was super good and it came in a decent portion, suitable for 2 people to share. I loved my experience here and will definitely be coming more often!

I had their duck poutine and it was good but my folks had their fish and chip, both of which were served undercooked, sadly.

Please make reservations. You do not want to miss out on this experience. From the "welcome" to the "until next time ". Everything was flawless.

Great ambiance, very representative of Vieux Aylmer. Not a huge fan of sitting barstool height, so the patio is my preference. The food is perfection. Must try the fish n chips and the Poutine is something out of heaven. The lemon meringue pie is different and fun, and just so yummy.

My wife and I went for dinner there last Friday evening for our wedding anniversary. All I can say is WOW! The food is really good, my Wife had the Salmon and I had their hamburger. I've never tasted a hamburger that good, I think I commented on it to the waitress like 3 times! We will definitely go back. I highly recommend this cozy Bistro!

Les plats de la section "classiques" du menu sont très bons, mais tout est un peu cher pour ce que c'est. Les plats du reste du menu ne sont pas d'un bon rapport qualité / prix. Le service est inégal, souvent froid. Le lieu est beau et la déco donne une ambiance intime.

My wife and I felt like we were at home among friends and family. We ordered the fish and chips and they were melt-in-your-mouth! The service was A1, We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. We will be back soon

The food there is excellent! Their "Poutine L'aubergiste" is just amazing to eat. It has duck, prosciutto and pepper sauce and it's definitely the best poutine I've ever eaten! The staff is very professional and friendly. Food is served quickly and the drinks are replenished regularly.

Very good experience! Love the simplistic decor and the selection of food we had was top notch. Great service from the entire staff.
