Reservation required a deposit, which was unusual. Food (two main and one appetizer dishes we tried) was very blank. Kids pasta and homemade bread was probably the tastiest parts. Wine tasted spoiled and frankly should have been returned. Overall, way overrated place at the moment.

Bad experience, not recommended. 1: really small portion in each dish. 2: the port rib almost 50% are fat, not eatable. 3: the fish (catch of the day) is good but just small portion.

The food did not hit the spot. The kitchen there seems to source fresh ingredients and may even know the technique, but the flavours are too bland, lacking in creativity and trying to be too fancy. If I could leave one recommendation - I'd say go back to basics and learn to deliver a culinary experience instead of raising prices and pretenting to be what you aren't. You can always make more when you have a crowd at your door.

We ordered a halibut plate that was minuscule for 38 dollars and wasn't fancy or extraordinary either. It was cooked correctly, but lacked in seasoning. The lobster bisque that was supposed to complement the fish ended up being some watery substance in which canned corn and mustard leaves were seated, serving as a final frontier between the swampy bottom of the plate and the crispy quarter of a halibut steak. Your mom would have cooked you a better halibut and wouldn't skimp on flavour. However, this is the whole story with this place - they are afraid of flavour.

The pork chop was a bit bigger than the fish but did not impress either. They may have used a sous-vide, or maybe just marinated it well, so you could taste some herbiness, but this is where the excitement ends. The so-called chimichurri was bland and mixed with tomato sauce. Needless to say that there was no heat to it, no garlic flavour, no flavour at all actually.

Finally, the service was very much laissez-faire. The waiter has forgot to ask us about allergies but did ask the table next to us (thankfully we don't have any). They also didn't bring us a dessert menu 10 minutes after we asked. Instead they decided to chit chat with the guests at the bar. I can clearly understand this when the restaurant is full, although of course bringing a menu should be simple enough. However, it wasn't even close to half full, so we were just left alone throughout the evening. We decided to leave at the end.

The server was helpful at explaining the menu initially and did ask us about the food once we started. In their defence, my girlfriend liked the food although she does agree on the service being below the standard.

Now if you can explain why bland food deserves the prices they set - let me know.

Le Hobbit - get your act together or Smaug and hungry visitors will get you closed for good.

Went there for brunch. Was a bit hangover and the food did not hit the spot. Portions are small (as intended, but the prices don't reflect that). I took the Benedictine (as recommended by our waitress), but it was not worth the 35$ I ended paying for (40 with coffee). I feel like they try to be more fancy than they need to. PS: my friends made their own breakfast with the side dishes available and this was well better in terms of value amd pretty good (especially the sausage)

Beautiful presentation of each dish and each entree. Wonderful service and very friendly. Expect to spend between 30 to 60 for minimum experience and the entrees are not a grand portion so you'll want to have at least an appatizer or a dessert for each member of your table as well. Would recommend for the first experience alone.

Everything about our experience was top notch! The food was outstanding, beautifully presented and the taste was incredible. We also ordered 3 desserts and they did not disappoint! The service was beyond expectation and I would probably rank le Hobbit as one of the best restaurants I've ever visited.

Sitting inside beside the windows open to the street was a cute vibe. Breakfast items are a little niche, but thanks to their suggestion I was able to piece together an American style breakfast that I enjoyed. I otherwise probably wouldn't have enjoyed any of the regular menu items as much.

The servers speak both English and French which is good for people like me who suck at French: ,) The food is very unique and delicious. The outdoor seating is very nice and reasonably placed. Highly recommend!

Les plats sont goûtu, beaucoup de belles associations de saveur. Certaines plats ont des quantités qui mériterait un peu d ajustements mais exellent en goût. Le canard un peu nerveux et juste une tranché. Les desserts sont très originaux peut-être un peu trop. Des photos ou plus d explications aiderai à rassurer. Pas goûté car ne répondez pas à nos goûts. Le lieu est quand même assez bruyant. Service impeccable et rapide. Décoration très belle.

We came in the winter to see the ice hotel. Nice atmosphere and the service was OK but slow.

I'm certain one of the dishes had used coffee grinds in it. I'm not sure if this was meant to be a joke and didn't complain about it, but in any case, I can't rate the food positively over it nor recommend visiting.

Food mediocre, everything else was fine. I’m not sure if it’s a low-sodium restaurant or the chef had a bad day, but we all needed to heavily salt our dishes to make them taste of something. Don’t order the Quebec style reinterpretation of ‘Mac and cheese’.

We made a reservation for New Year's Eve. Upon arriving and to our surprise, they informed us that they would only be serving a fixed 7 course menu. They really should have informed us before hand. A few other surprised customers who made reservations decided to leave on the spot. With limited options without a reservation on New Year's Eve, we decided to stay. They were not able to accommodate our mushroom allergy request since the menu was fixed. While we enjoyed the "to the sea. " dish and the "looking forward. " dessert, we were not a big fan of the other dishes. The "through the forest. " dish was too sweet. The rest of the dishes were not that special, and certainly not worth the price. The staff were friendly and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere.

La nourriture pas mal. Le service était moyen, même pas terrible. Le serveur a ri quand j'ai voulu retirer certaines choses de ma commande. Pour cette raison, j'ai décidé de ne pas laisser de pourboire. Après être sorti, le serveur s'est précipité vers moi et a semblé contrarié que je ne laisse pas de pourboire, je devais le lui donner mais c'était essentiellement des forces. Pas une bonne expérience!

Hotel staff recommended this restaurant and decided to give it try. We were looking for more like simply egg and sausage breakfast place, but we were so happy with the recommendation!

Server was super friendly and patient with us. We tried maple latte and the meal with fried chickpeas, nann bread, garlic yogurt and sausage which was just perfect portion. Server generously recommended to add sausage and he was right. It might have not been enough without it. So I suggest that if you look for a full breakfast.

Utiliser le nom "hobbit" pour justifier la petitesse des plats? Faut pas connaître le monde de Tolkien pour ça. Les hobbits mangent beaucoup, vraiment beaucoup. Si seulement mon expérience culinaire avait été positive, j'aurais pu passer par dessus ce "principe" de plats minuscules qui d'après eux favorisent le partage. Voici quelques exemples de ce que nous avons eus: un potage avec zéro sel (pas même sur aucune table), pain avec beurre composé (supposé être aux oignons mais à part la couleur douteuse il ne goûtait absolument rien), hamburger de foie gras (le morceau de foie gras était horrible niveau texture et goût et j'en suis habituellement une grande fan), sur le menu il y avait "poitrine de canard" alors que j'ai reçu une minuscule tranche de cette supposée poitrine.bref, puisque nous y étions pour un souper d'affaires et que mon patron payait la facture, nous étions tous mal à l'aise autour de la table. J'ai donné un maximum de point au niveau du service puisqu'ils le méritent amplement. Désolée le Hobbit mais vous devez revoir votre menu et surtout votre principe de base.
