Le Kabinet au Datcha

We happened to walk by and decided to get a drink because the terrace looked nice, we were informed that we could go inside after. The waitress was stamping everyone else on the terrace so that they could get inside. When we asked for the same, she mocked us, saying that we only got one drink to try and « skip the line » so she told us if we wanted to go in, we had to wait in line, even if we wanted to use the bathroom. We were then kicked off the terrace and had to quickly finish our drinks. Very disappointing to be so blatantly disrespected and to insinuate that we were cheap and trying to scheme them. I previously wanted to try Datcha, but will most definitely not be coming back.

Overserved my friend and then when we politely declined to pay for the drinks because my friend was clearly too drunk to have ordered them in the first place, They forced us to stay and pay for drinks that we didn’t have and that shouldn’t have been served in the first place. When I decided to drink one of them since we’d already paid for it we were rudely forced to leave by bouncers. I never write reviews and this happened months ago but I have heard similar stories since so I thought I should say something. Will never come here again

Vibes were amazing until someone decided to just go kick me out fir no reason (really no reason) even though I really did nothing wrong! So.it’s a hillbilly bar after all, trying to look modern.
If you are. Single decent man trying to have a beer a listen to some good music, just steer away from that place

The jazz night here is incredible, to say the least.you need to get here EARLY so you can secure a table and enjoy the band, but it is so worth it to settle in for an evening of delicious drinks and beautiful jazz.the tarot offering was also such a fun part of the evening, i really enjoyed my reading and it made for a great date night.

Pire expérience, plus jamais je refou les pieds ici, quand on demande un mojito c'est un mojito pas un mojito avec un sirop amer qui gâche le goût et quand on demande de remplacer, on doit repayer 16$, à ce prix là, j'irai à des places ou les mojitos sont meilleurs et où on se fou pas de notre gueule!

Super endroit. Peut-être le meilleur de Montréal. L’ambiance est cool, la musique est bonne, les cocktails sont super. En plus le quartier est branché. Mon endroit favori!

Always a great time here. Sometimes gets crowded as the space (the club part) is small, but the DJ’s are absolutely worth it!

The way this bar transforms into a 1920s tavern, during jazz nights, is surreal. The live band on display was amazing as well, and their cocktails were great! Not really sure why this place is a 4.3, it's a solid 5 imo.

Ok so not my vibe of music tbh which is fine but the reason I’m writing a review is because two of my friends felt veryyyy weird, dizzy and sick after one drink here! Come to find out a worker of Datcha gave my friend glass covers and told her “not that it’s a serious problem here but it is in montreal” I thought that was really weird (nice warning but strange).

Fastest bar service I have ever seen at a bar or club. The team was clearly communicative, working together, smiling and efficient.
Drinks were great.
We went a Saturday night and although it’s not really my vibe I had a fun time.
The lights were super dim so you can’t see anyones face on the dance floor.in the theme of the bar you’re playing Russian roulette when you dance with someone cause you don’t know if they’re cute or deadly ugly.
The music was more house electronic. I’m not really into that untz untz untz dance scene but i can tell it was good untz untz untz music.
The place is also a bit too small. My friends and I wished it was like three times the size so that there could be a bigger dance floor with more people.
Also maybe you guys should put instructional posters in each of the stalls of the bathrooms on how to potty — it seems no one knew how to flush and all toilets were clogged.
Again, even though it’s not necessarily my vibe, this place is clearly a gem with fantastic staff and great music.

Came on a Wednesday, music was great, staff were really nice, shots are surprisingly cheap and it’s not too big so it has a cozy feel.

This is easily the best bar in Montreal. Amazing venue with the best DJ’s in the city. Safe space for all, amazing bar staff, been coming here for years.

SUPER solid bar. Good drinks, very intimate atmosphere. The place becomes super lively at night.

Overpriced drinks, way too small, dirty bathroom, rude staff, big line ups, dont recommend to anyone. By the way 14 $ for a cover to get in at 1 am when closing at 3 am.rip off don't go here.

The best bar in the whole city of Montreal! Those two blonde hostesses, I think their names are Michelle and Emmanuelle, really made the experience worth the while. Can I have a blonde pls?

Vous avez déjà vu un petit bar de quartier qui accueillait des DJ locaux, servait les meilleurs cocktails du coin et offrait une ambiance chill et décontractée se transformer en club piège à richou? Bienvenue au Datcha, le bar le plus overhyped de Montréal! 1h30 à attendre pendant que tous les petits fils à papa se permettaient de ne pas faire la line-up. A l'arrivée 16$ le vestiaire, ah bah tiens ça a doublé après la pandémie. On se serait cru dans un club du downtown tsé comme le Cinq? Ah bah non tsé pas il a fermé mais le Datcha a pas compris la leçon. C'est vraiment triste de voir un des bars les plus cool du Mile End se transformer comme ça. Les petits richous viennent pour la réouverture mais la fidèle clientèle qui venait apprécié l'ambiance underground et la bonne musique electro devra trouver un nouveau spot.

Not a bad experience at all. Very enjoyable the restaurant was packed inside and out the staff was super friendly and relatively quick with the order. Pretty interesting place would definitely go back when I'm in the area.

The bar and drinks are great.but it is a mistery for me why dancing in the bar/club during the dj-set is not allowed.

Goods drinks in a relaxed and cozy patio setting. The waitress was extremely friendly and gave us a gods service + the drinks were delicious hence the 5/5. Keep up the good work!

One of the best bar, I've visited. Great environment and good cocktail. There's literally no bad cocktail in this bar, all of them are amazing in their own ways.

I've been to the Jazz and Tarot Thursday twice now and it's always pretty fun. There's an interesting speakeasy atmosphere with live Jazz music, drinks are pretty good and not that expensive ($12-14 for a cocktail) and the service is intimate and friendly. The personalized tarot card readings also give a sort of mystical vibe to the place which is pretty nice.

Wow, what a cool, tiny little joint with a fantastic mixologist (s). Free pizza. Absolutely phenomenal cocktails, both classic and contemporary. Very friendly staff and the whole clientèle just has a laid-back, friendly vibe. I can't believe this was my first time here. Will definitely become a regular. The Moscow mule in particular is solid.

Cool bar in the Mile End. The decor is nice and I liked the vibe. The drinks were on the pricier side but that’s expected. Gets very crowded on the weekend which makes it kind of hard to walk around, but I’ve seen worse. If you want to sit down and grab a drink though I would suggest you to come before midnight as it gets pretty festive after that (music gets louder and a lot of people dancing). The bar next door is also very cute but was way too crowded. We were stepping on each other’s feet as it was tiny. One bartender was a bit rude.

Un petit bar qui vaut la peine du déplacement. L'ambiance est sympathique et la carte est sympa. Puis une fois qu'on a passé un bon début de soirée on peut continuer lorsque le club ouvre. Concept sympa.

If you really want a truly authentic Montreal experience, you need to ask for Sabrina at this hidden gem in Mile End. First off, we arrived there mid afternoon and we sat at the bar. Sabrina is more than a mixologist, she’s an artist. Her knowledge of obscure Italian Amarones is vast and she allowed us to sample tiny sips. The cocktails are the freshest, most inventive and herbaceous in all of Montreal. The left side of their cocktail menu is their own unique concoctions which are world class. Aside from amazing cocktails, Sabrina is an amazingly charismatic raconteur and have us real recommendations. Don’t bother with TripAdvisor or the others. If you want to know about where the best places in Montreal are, talk to a bartender. Hurry though, Sabrina is moving to Lisbon to start her own bar with her boyfriend Edgar and that means Lisbon will now the go-to place for travelers who are looking for authenticity.

First of all I loved it. 10/10 would recommend. But I am a little confused. There are pictures of Russia, flags of Ukraine and Georgia on the wall, all the music playing was 80’s American stuff, and there’s free pizza for the taking. They really kept us on our toes. Have a mule.

Great bar to be at. The music is authentic and funky. Very idealistic for dancing all night. Only problem is that the bar is very small.

Best bloody ceasar I had in a long time. The staff is super nice and the prices really reasonable.

Best place to party in Montreal between 10-3. Why? Russian-inspired drinks, smoke & strobe setup, and great music - consistently. Plus, you can take a break at the Kabinet next door for a more casual chit-chat vibe. It’s very hard to find a place that matches Datcha in delivering consistent quality across the board. Keep an eye out for Forrest and Lost Heroes on Datcha’s Facebook page for some Xtra good music.

If you are a mild mannered male who is looking to casually dance with ladies avoid this place at all costs. You will get kicked out as I did by feminist security if you are "too aggressive" even if you are gentle, polite and the girl consentually dances, grinds, makes out with you. We joke and call them the KGB because they are like the datcha secret police with an hateful ideology.

Nice laid-back speakeasy type bar with professional staff, great cocktails at a reasonable price. Love it, will definitely go back. Also worth mentioning, the Kabinet is linked to the Datcha bar from the inside so to get into the Kabinet bar you need to go to the Datcha which is more of a club than a bar. It's great because if you feel like you had enough drinks at the bar of Kabinet, you can switch to the Datcha to dance a little bit and change the ambiance! Actually the first place I've been that has both the bar and club in the same address!
