Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel Montreal

We lucked out when we booked at St. Sulpice. We were very happy with the room, the service, and the food. A great location too!

Fabulous location. Restaurant could have been better however, seemed a bit short staffed to be able to accommodate a group. Great service otherwise and great location. Will consider visiting again.

The wife and I have been going there for years and love it. Prices are getting high but they are everywhere else. At least the staff and rooms make it worth it.

What can I say? This place was GORGEOUS. Threr are so many good restaurants around here. The staff was very kind and professional. The rooms have a great view of the city.

La chambre était spacieuse et très propre. Nous avons souper sur place, leur restaurant était très bon! Cet hôtel a un excellent emplacement dans le vieux-port et on est plongé au cœur de Montréal. C’est un 5/5 pour moi)

Excellent service from are Reception to Housekeeping. Rooms are spacious. Walking distance to great restaurants, boutiques, art galleries, area attractions.

I had an extended stay here and it was fantastic. The room was very spacious and comfortable, the location was very convenient for my meeting at the convention center, the restaurant was good, and the hotel staff was amazing. Every time I needed something, I received prompt and friendly service. I highly recommend this hotel.

A great experience! Beautiful location - close to great restaurants and cafes. The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel bar had amazing cocktails and wonderful ambiance. We had a fantastic sleep in the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in and great coffee in the morning courtesy of the room's Nespresso machine.
The level of cleanliness was superb as well. A great stay all around.

The room was fine but they need to work on staffing etc. People were not very friendly.bar was meh. We got coffee delivered to the room and it was cold and awful. And it was very touristy.not my favorite.

Visited once as a traveller here for personal family business. Booked two queen suites about a week in advanced online with no issue. When arriving, we were greeted by the valet service who handled our luggage per our early arrival, and took the vehicle as we opted into the valet service (extra charge, although self parking is still an extra charge). The reception staff, valet staff, and housekeeping were all friendly thought the experience. Everyone seemed bilingual in both French and English.

While one room was ready by the 4pm time, the other one took about an hour after and we were not notified. The rooms were both nice. While the space and accomodations were great, they weren't anything to gawk at in terms of decor or architecture. However, the suites offer lots of movement room, two TVs, a desk for work, sofa, electric fireplace, and FULL kitchenette with microwave, dishes, cooktop, mini fridge, kettle, and more. Our bathroom did not have any soap in the bathroom although everything else was fine. The beds were decently comfortable. The thermostat was set low, as I prefer it cold, but the temp did not go below 19C. There was also a lack of free flowing air around the bed, like a fan or fan unit which makes for a silent and stagnant sleeping experience if you're not a fan. The bedroom phone also did not work as the wireless hand unit's batteries were not dead, and the fireplace's controls seemed damaged. The room did have a single dual door window that opened without a screen and could let in a lot of natural light, overlooking the street below. While not a breathtaking view, is decent for people watching.

The rest of the hotel experience was fine. Anything that is perceived as a minor complaint is included strictly as an observation. The hotel was lovely but did not offer enough to justify the price (in my personal opinion), but that doesn't detract from the location, staff, or amenities. I note this was booked about a week in advanced during July which may have positively or negatively influenced the price.

In the heart of Old Montreal. A charming boutique hotel. Large suite with a very large balcony. Staff friendly and most accommodating. Valet was superb! Will be back.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. My family stayed there for a week on our travel to India. It's very close to all the famous places in Montreal. We explored most places staying in this hotel. Roaming in the dowtown is pretty cool and easy staying there. The staff and the manager are awesome. The hotel is so clean and peaceful all the times. I would stay here if i ever visit Montreal again.

Rooms are old and falling apart. Definitely not a 4-star. I also had no idea you couldn’t smoke on the BALCONEY. No mention on check-in, no signs in the room. They only informed me AFTER they charged $500 + tax on my credit card.

Check-out was at noon. As I was leaving the room at 12: 01 reception called to check if I was leaving. I found this annoying as well. Not even a five minute grace period.

My room did not have a sign, your claim is untrue. This is a great explanation as to your smoke-free policy, it would be nice to mention on checkin, not AFTER you take my money. A refund would be appropriate at this time for the money you STOLE from me.

My interactions with some staff at Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel during my stay had an undertone of racism and the hotel and rooms are very average.

The hotel itself is in an incredible location, however all this typically means is that a business can fall behind in other aspects such as staffing, service, and upkeep/maintenance because they can be complacent in the fact that their physical location will draw in guests no matter what.

I do not recommend this hotel, and your money is better spent elsewhere.

I visit Montreal yearly and I have stayed at various hotels from high-end to boutique in various areas of Montreal and this particular experience has been the worst experience by far.

I spent $1,800 over four nights.

First off, the rooms are very dated, and the hotel room layout doesn’t make much sense. The carpet is old and dirty; the bedroom which faces the living room has a glass door so anyone sitting in the living room can see right into the bedroom, so there is absolutely no privacy. The TVs are tiny with no working HDMI port, and half of the electric plugs didn't work either.

What bothered me the most about this hotel was the lowkey undertone of racism. And I don't believe this is the first time someone has experienced this with some of the staff at the hotel.

Here is what happened - there was a heatwave during my stay, and upon returning to the hotel after being outside in the heat, I had asked a gentlemen at the front desk for water (note: the front desk gave me four bottles the day before).

He was going to give me four small bottles (two for me, and two for my son), until a “Karen” stopped him and said “NO” only two per room.

Seriously? These water bottles would cost no more than 50 cents each and Karen wanted to control the rations of water just because. I had received four the day before. That is $1 worth of water, and I spent $1800 for our stay at Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel.

That $1 of water they could have easily given me cost this hotel a lot more because I will never go back.

I had noticed other guests received more water bottles and guess what…they were white.

The concierge was nice but was not helpful. He had one job to do and provided me with incorrect information.

I had asked the concierge if Schwartz's Deli delivers, and he said "they absolutely do not, you have to go the restaurant". I didn’t want to wait in line during a heatwave at the restaurant and wanted to enjoy dinner in our hotel room.

I checked Uber Eats and found out they in fact deliver. One of the most iconic restaurants in Montreal and the concierge doesn't know this information.

And at checkout the lady at the front desk asked me how my stay was and I said “It was just okay”…she did not care one bit.

In any case, I had a great time in Montreal, and didn’t let the experience at this hotel ruin our yearly trip to Montreal.

We will return to Montreal next year. Just not at this hotel.

Stayed July 9th-12th. The service is above and beyond. Carolanne at front desk was amazing. I had some issues with check in, she was so understanding and helpful. Did everything to bring my stress down and make sure a birthday weekend wasn’t ruined. The room was spectacular, clean and everything we needed was there.

Clean, safe boutique hotel near Montreal port. Close to the Old Town section, plenty of shops and restaurants to explore.

This hotel was excellent. Friendly bilingual staff in the heart of old Montreal. Only problem is that the restaurant is only open Wednesday to Saturday. But lots of other fabulous places nearby to eat

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious. I’ve had no bad experience with this hotel. If you’re staying in Vieux-Port, I suggest considering this hotel. It’s on the same block as Notre Dame, and its location is only walking distance from many restaurants.

These people understand service. They were consistently friendly, polite, responsive and knowledgeable. Our room was surprisingly spacious. It was well appointed and they offered any amenity we needed. Every interaction was pleasant. Great location. I highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful! We only stayed one night and I wish it was longer! The staff was so friendly and helpful from the get go. A very warm and welcoming stay. The rooms are so classy and beautiful. Impeccably clean with a lovely marble bathroom and enclosed bedroom. I think I stayed in the deluxe suite with a balcony and view of the terrace! It definitely feels like Europe drinking espresso on the balcony in the morning lol. Very romantic if you’re travelling with a partner! The location is perfect for sight seeing old Montreal with a ton of fantastic restaurants nearby (I recommend Modavie!). I only wish we stayed longer!

This hotel was lovely, the atmosphere was great, the hotel was great, the staff were excellent. We decided to stay an extra day as we were in such a central locations. Concierge was extremely helpful with great recommendations of restaurants and venues. We definitely plan on staying here again in June!

Fantastic service. From the moment we walked in, to the moment where we had to do a panic drive back to it while calling as I'd forgotten jewelry on the bed. Beautiful suite, would be lovely in the summer when the balcony would be enjoyable!

Stayed one night for an anniversary. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast-in-a-box isn't really substantial (croissant, apple, piece of cheese, orange juice, and jam). Everything was clean but I wouldn't say the experience matched the price.

The suite are like a small apartment, well decorated and comfortable! We will go back for sure the flowers and the candle are not included in the package

I stayed here for work and this hotel was recommended by the company that we were visiting.

The room was very clean, and large. Because of Covid-19 all of the amenities were closed, and breakfast was delivered every morning.

The breakfast was tasty Montreal style bagel with cream cheese an apple and an orange juice. It was a but lite, luckily I was dieting so it was perfect, but normal it would-be have been enough food for someone like me. The breakfast was the same for all 5 morning of my stay.

The staff were all very friendly, polite and helpful. All of them spoke English. They also all took Covid-19 very seriously and we're following all of the appropriate precaustions.

We (14 people) had lunch today at the Terrasse Sinclair. The service was incredibly bad. It took forever to get our drinks and our foods. Waitress and waiters were rude, didn't know the basic etiquette of servicing. Only 5 local beers offered and they were out on 3. No Molson or Labatt product. 9$ for a warm beer, a bit expensive. The soup was cold, the risotto was overcooked looked like a sticky ball and the taste was suspicious and there was more coffee on the table than in the cup. Also some of the dishes were dirty. See the picture of the tea pot. Dry food stuck on it. The restaurant was empty, now we know why.

My shower didn't have a curtain or a door. Therefore, after my shower, I had a big lac in front of the shower.

We spent one night here a few weeks ago, then left the next afternoon for 4 days in Quebec City. If we were to do it again we just go to th St Suplice for 4 days. In the same suite. Even my husband who is not that fussy about accommodations keeps raving about it. It is a bit like a boutique hotel in the 16ht arrondissement of Paris. We were in the back overlooking the courtyard. I must have a bath tub and the jacuzzi in our bath too was superb. Staff was beyond helpful. Je t'adore St Suplice.

We stayed for for the 2019 Canadian Grand Prix. Wow, this is an awesome hotel. We had a room that faced Saint-Paul st; it was very large, had the right modern amenities, and the bathroom was fantastic. I loved the huge walk in shower, and my wife loved the over sized tub. The staff were so helpful, and was kind, even though my French is not good. Lots to do around the hotel, but we loved sitting next to the open window, and listening to the streets come alive at night. We will return

Somewhat disappointed. One of the elevators has been out of service for months, and the service in the restaurant was painfully slow at breakfast for both days I stayed there. Which is puzzling as the restaurant was virtually empty. I guess that says a lot. The waitresses were quite good I suspect the problem was in the kitchen.

I was there for a business conference and found the food was quite good, the rooms were nice, clean modern and the staff was pleasant and eager to serve.

Beautiful hotel and the staff are extremely pleasant, courteous and helpful. The rooms are so beautiful and the balcony was a nice change from most chain hotels. They spa is also available with this hotel. I recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a nice stay right downtown in old Montreal. Everything is walking distance from this beautiful hotel.

The room we had was great and the hotel has a great location next to the cathedral and great restaurants. There was some noise outside from the bars and restaurants but closing the windows and bedroom door reduced it enough. The bed was comfy and the decor was up to date.

A beautiful hotel located in old Montreal. Steps away from numerous restaurants, unique stores and the waterfront, it is the ideal place to stay in Montreal. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. If available, ask for a real fireplace, especially if you are here in the fall or winter. Nothing more romantic than a real fire in a gorgeous hotel, especially with a glass of wine and the person you love! We first came in 2005, and keep coming back.

The staff went out of their way to make our experience special. I've stayed in a lot of hotels, and have developed a sense of the service I can expect. Everyone at Le Saint Sulpice put in the extra effort to make sure they exceeded every expectation. They were kind, courteous, and attentive during our entire stay. The service has raised the bar as the gold standard against which other pricier hotels fail to meet.

Nice hotel very well situated. But dont take room facing streets. Youll hear everything from outside. We couldn't sleep.
