Le Sommet

What a surprise! Compared to what I’ve experienced looking for apartment in downtown. The place is clean, cosy and well located in downtown area, close to 2 metro stations and walking distance to all amazing places, Mount Royal for morning walks in the forest, 3 major grocery stores, Adonis, PA and Newon, 2 cinemas and tons of amazing restaurants. Thank you Detelina for the pleasant hospitality and showing me all possible options to find my “home” for the next few years I’ll be in Montreal. The place is quiet and very clean. Great service.

Both the living and renting process at Le Sommet was very smooth and enjoyable for my family and I. Ina and Rocky were both helpful and patient with our questions and helped make our apartment hunting and move-in as stress-free as possible. Everyone in the building is nice and pleasant, and I am appreciative of the openness and accessibility for pets as well.

Great place to live with clean and well maintained amenities. Ina Cusnir, the senior building manager, is amazing. She’s extremely approachable and kind and will always do her best to help. She made living here a great experience!

The management is awful. They took a surreptitious (sneaky and underhanded) approach to lease renewal. They emailed me the document to increase my rent by 5%, nearly double the recommended amount, on December 23rd. They used a read receipt system that triggers the email as "read" the moment it is delivered, as the delivery time stamp is the same as the the read receipt. I theorize that this was intentional so that I would not dispute the unjustifiable increase.

I used to live in 3475 rue de la montage. The management team were always helpful. Specially, Ina Cusnir was wonderful. She was so patient and helped me with my problem.

I like everything about this building from the rooftop terrace to the warm welcome of the leasing agent and the staff. The apartment is spacious and located in one of the best parts of town.

Ina Cusnir was kind and professional.and with her help I am happy to extend my lease for another year at Le Sommet

I want to highlight the work of Rocky, who went above and beyond to ensure we find our perfect home. His dedication, patience and warmth made the whole experience stress-free. Well, is hard to describe in a few words the great experience that I’m having in this place, Rocky Hamilton is THE guy for setting you up in this great place, super helpful, friendly, nice, he will explain everything to the details, very funny and light mood. Rocky is always in the building, and answers quick, by phone text or in person, the building is excellent, clean, good neighbours, have everything you need, and is in a great spot. If you are not sure about it where to go, actually even if you do, this place would be a better choice. Rocky Hamilton would set you up and take care of everything and make you feel at home. Great guy, Great place. 5 stars for real!

I am a newcomer student to Canada, and Le Sommet is the first building I have ever lived in here. My overall experience in this building is awesome. First, this building has two full-time staff. Thus the building is always clean. Not just clean, but Monica clean!:) The detergents they use seem high quality since you won't smell anything. Also, there is two big ventilation in each floor providing fresh air. The building has a pool, gym, and rooftop open terrace with barbecues. My apartment is located on the 16th floor with big windows and a spectacular view of the city and green mountains. Finally, the manager is fast to respond, friendly, and helpful. At first, when I was about to rent this apartment, I was afraid of bad reviews about the manager. However, It seems that it's been a year since the manager changed. Honestly, the new one is very kind and helpful.

Coming to Montreal with my beloved ones and from a different country was challenging to me, but the Hazelview staff at Rue de la Montagne made everything easy for moving-in and we got the best flat and service I could ask for. If your wife's happy you know you are in the right place!

Le Sommet deserves a five star rating! My suite is so elegant, so clean and so spacious. For the rental price it is a bargain! I have huge windows which bring in so much natural light and are overlooking a well maintained garden and large lit up rock waterfalls. It is so peaceful to hear the sound of the water! The building is quiet and the management/staff are friendly and helpful. There is a pool, whirlpool, rooftop open terrace with barbecues, seating and a spectacular view of the city and green mountains. It is also conveniently located close to the metro, shopping and upscale restaurants. It is paradise!

Great building to live in, the staff is helpful and available. I even got my place furnished with great furniture and an amazing bed thanks to them.
The apartments are bright, clean, and modern. If you're looking for a place for your studies I totally recommend Le Sommet, as it is close to Concordia and McGill, and because of how quiet this place is.
Overall this is a great place, with a great staff!

STAY AWAY. Don't be fooled by the recent good (fake) reviews! The place in itself is not the problem, the apartments are good and the location downtown for a student like me is great. However the management is HORRIBLE, stay away! When I first moved in, I saw so many bad reviews and was hesitant to proceed with the move in. The management reassured me saying that the reviews was about the old management and they changed. Please don't trust them, they worked there for more than 8 years and it is awful. When you need anything from them (documents, repair, maintenance) you have to call at least 10 times to get what you need. Just to get MY LEASE DOCUMENTS I had to email and spam call, they sometime don't even answer when they know your number. I also tried to come to the office when they said they close at 5pm, at 4pm no one is there. I lived there for 2 years then decided to transfer my lease to get away from there and even then, nothing went well (calling 10 times to make sure the lease transfer is approved, not even giving the furniture that they promised to the new tenant ect.). I am happy my experience is over. I agree with ALL the bad reviews below mine.

Lived here for 2 years and have had such a great time in this building. Feeling sad to be moving out! Everyone’s been awesome. I also don't have any complaints in relation to the management.

Jacques Chartrand is a fantastic manager! Extremely professional with a great understanding of the building and tenants. The friendly and empathetic staff in charge of this building create a fantastic environment. Lived here for 3 years!

If you wana be deceived, manipulated, and treated like a rat, live here. I’m speaking out of 4 years of experience living here so my review is not based on 1-2 incidents that I wasn’t happy about, its on everything I’ve seen, everyday.

Jacques Chartrand, the fradudaluant building manager, is the most sneaky, insulting, arrogant, degrading man, that will smile at you to get his paycheque, and take advantage of you the moment he turns around. So many competent and nice employees have quit the job purely because of his arrogance and deceptiveness. Example: an employee that used to work as his assistant was trying to show him something on his computer because he didn’t know what to click to access my file. He slapped her hand out of his mouse.

Maybe you’ll never run into any issue so you won’t have to deal with him? Wrong. He will mess up something with your apartment, and blame it on you. Threatening to evict you if you don’t pay for what wasn’t your fault.
Yes the building is nice, but believe me when I say, this man will go over and beyond to ruin your stay in this building, you’re much better off getting a $600 studio with cockroaches, than to live here.

I’ve never seen a residential building having such a high turnover of tenants leaving.
And the reason is unanimous: The building manager.

Save yourself some troubles and AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST.

After living at le Sommet for 5 years, I can only agree with the comments below regarding the rude and arrogant "Building Manager" (except that obvious fake 5-stars comment). They are very well known by the Regie du Logement and Quebec housing clinics for their bad faith and for frauding people. Don't be surprised, it is very common to be approached by fed up tenants in the public areas and be asked to go as a group to the rental board for complain.

The building manager has zero work ethic, no management skills, accountability, courtesy and humility. He treats tenants like pure s***, with no respect and always tries to scam people, blaming them for his own mistake. You have to remind him every three minutes of his duties, otherwise he will forget and will blame you for not reminding him of his own job. Him and his little crew also mock and talk bad about tenants and are definitely very obvious and opened about it. For instance, it took him 4months to replace a defective oven/microwave, he waited for mold to develop in my unit to make the necessary repairs after a first flood in my unit, forced me to move out from my apartment, even though my lease was renewed, because they’re too incompetent to manage lease renewals properly.

Yet, with that level of incompetence, the least you can do is to be quiet. I feel sorry for the rest of the staff who is lovely and have to handle their bull*** everyday. The maintenance associate should definitely take over his job as he is way more knowledgable and knows how to treat people with respect.

The building is also infested with insects, the amenities are not as promised and you have to say goodbye to your own privacy because they will come into your apartment without any notice.

So don’t fall for their advertisement of a luxury lifestyle, it’s all a lie.

Writing another review from another account because this place is horrible. I came back from 2 week vacation, 15 hour long flight, came into my unit, no hot water, no email regarding the issue, no notification on timbercreek's application, went into the manager's room at 5: 30PM, he wasn't there. The person in the office told me that the plumber is trying to fix the water issue, but they don't know when it will be fixed. Then I found a note on my kitchen counter saying that they entered my unit. I was not informed of this until after I returned from my vacation when I found the note. I left for vacation on the 19th of June and came back on the 2nd of July, they entered my unit on the 20th as you can see in the photo.
This has been the 4th or 5th time they are entering my unit without my prior knowledge or permission. What I'm trying to say is, if you choose to live here say goodbye to your privacy.

Pipe burst a unit above, messed up all the flooring, it's been close to 2 months, nothing is fixed. Contractors entered my unit without my knowledge several times, the only way I found out was because they were polite enough to use my towel while fixing another pipe leak, and left my wet towel in my bath tub. What else, electricity went out for over 48 hours. Cannot control the heating in my unit, sound proofing is horrible. My unit is a junior 3 1/2, which basically means that the bedroom is just big enough to fit a double bed. Internet service is horrible. For all of this, I paid approximately 1400CAD per month. Avoid at all costs.
