Hôtel très bien situé, chambre spacieuse, tranquille et confortable, personnel agréable et attentionné, prix raisonnable, je ne peux que recommander.

Experience soured over two days. Only one elevator working. The toilet in my room ran continuously unless you were careful how you flushed (maintenances fix was just don't flush the toilet slowly) and worst got charged for previous occupants minibar use and hotel refused to reimburse the money (even knowing I had a late evening arrival). Location is great, but front desk friendliness hides their bad service.

THEY SCAMMED US.

We were charged for using the mini bar when we never did. We informed the hotel and they did not refund us despite us even taking photos of the minibar before we checked out (there were other reviews of this overcharge so we were paranoid).

The pool heater also wasn't working for our whole duration and we had to constantly speak to front desk to get our room cleaned and obtain fresh sheets. The breakfast was mediocre

Beautiful hotel. We were given an upgrade with room with a large bathtub in addition to shower in our bathroom. We had a king sized bed, which was a wonderful comfortable bed. It was like sleeping on a cloud! The pool is heated with an outside exposurer and delight to relax in Breakfast was not included with our booking, however it was availible for a reasonible price. The hotel was in walking distance to Metro and few good resturaunts. The staff was very helpful and kind. Would deffinately return here again!

Avoid! "Particulier" here is the right choice of word. But not for the reason they think. I stayed in a lot of hotels, in Montreal and around the world. The St-Martin is a wannabe 4 stars hotel that has a great location and decent rooms but that's where the positive points stops. The rooms have very little sound isolation. No matter the floor you will hear traffic, honking, screaming, etc.as if you were on the sidewalk. The front desk staff is oblivious to normal hotel processes. We mentioned we had a lot of luggages, no response from the staff. We came in carrying 5 luggages, and 3 bags, they looked at us struggle without even offering help. We had to grab a buggy and carry it ourselves to the room. So don't expect help even tho the website does mention porter/baggage service. Further to that the front desk isn't even aware of their own services. They provided wrong information on multiple occasion, forcing us to go back and ask again. The hotel does offer parking, but prepare to pay 40$ a day and have to give tip on every in/out since access to the parking is restricted to the hotel staff. Most hotel in Montreal charges a lot less than that. The hotel has restaurants which does room service but it's not linked with the hotel so you have to pay and contact them directly which seem to annoy them at least on our attempt to get room service. And while they say they offer contact-less they don't since you have to pay them directly. All and all I would stay away from this hotel. There are a lot of better options in the same area. I miss when boutique mean something else than small, inexperienced and disorganized.

Great location. The hotel was comfortable with a nice and specious room. Personnel was very professional and helpful. You don’t have the impression that they’re doing it mechanically. Will go back God’s willing.

Très bel hôtel avec un excellent service et un personnel accueillant. Si vous cherchez des chambres contemporaines vous risquez d'être un peu déçu. Cependant les chambres panoramiques valent le détour.

Beyond a wonderful experience, I was stranded in Montreal Dec 22 and unable to fly home, I had been speaking with Joanna and she told me not to worry and they would look after me. I arrived to the most welcoming and relaxing check-in I have ever made. Ushered to a stunning room with the all the information for food and activities at the hotel and surrounding area. I was able to enjoy the view of the fantastic Panoramic room and forget the worries of trying to get home for Christmas due to the wonderful staff and amenities of this hotel. I will ONLY stay here every time I'm in Montreal and you should do the same

Please stay far far far away from here. I won't complain about the other issues we had, I'll just go straight to the major health issue. We had our cleaning tag on the door early in the morning but when we got back around 3: 30pm it still wasn't cleaned. We called front desk and had someone come right away. We watched with our own eyes as he cleaned our coffee cups and drinking glass in our bathroom with his cleaning cloth. I can't begin to tell you the health issues with that. Then with the same cloth he wiped the counter tops, then the coffee maker.this is totally unacceptable at every level. Montreal should send the inspectors here immediately. Never will I come back. What a way to spend our 25th anniversary. There was other problems, but it pales in comparison. This is no joke. Other positive reviews that were left would have changed if they were aware. We are checking out a day early.

The hotel is located right in the downtown. Few blocks away you have shopping you have things to do. I will highly recommend that if you have something to do downtown to stay at this hotel as the location is key. Hot pool to take a swim is pretty awesome.

Small but elegant hotel at an excellent location for exploring the city - walking distance to much, métro station almost at the door for the rest. We paid the extra for a top floor room that would be larger and have a view of downtown. The room was well appointed and the bathroom was definitely larger but the room itself wasn't any bigger than what I'd expect for a normal hotel room and the window looked directly at another much taller building. We had a peekaboo view of parts of five or so other buildings to either side.
Staff seemed friendly and helpful, even opening the locked pool for us (which seems be inexplicably closed during the day).
The main reason this review is three stars instead of four or even five is that the raison d'etre for a hotel is to sleep, and this hotel did not deliver anywhere near the expected level of service. The hvac unit was literally right beside the bed and we found it very loud. Our second night was disrupted by a repetitive periodic ticking sound (also almost right beside the bed) that we could not locate or abate. In the morning we finally figured out it was coming from what appeared to be a circuit timer into which the mini fridge was plugged, ironically to keep the (much quieter and less disturbing) fridge from turning on during the night.
Most disturbingly though were the two mornings where we were woken up by what seemed like factors completely within management's control.
Our second morning we were woken up by music being played over the hotel sound system speakers in the corridor. While the music was not loud by nightclub standards, it was certainly loud enough to wake us with our room door closed. It was more than loud enough to identify songs and sing along from inside the room, I'd say it was only a little quieter than the standard setting for the radio that housekeeping kindly left playing for us each day when they finished up. I've never heard anything like that in a hotel before so I got a great recording of Miley Cyrus singing Midnight Sky several levels too loud for a hotel hallway that I shared with the front desk (I also took them the defective timer at the same time). Staff seemed surprised, saying they "always" turned the music on at a certain time. They did turn it off shortly thereafter but alas we were already awake so the opportunity to sleep in was lost.
The next morning (our third) was worse. Shortly after 8am we were awakened by what sounded like elephants tap dancing on our ceiling and occasional yelling voices. We also heard people occasionally walking back and forth along the gravelled ledge of 15th floor roof immediately outside our windows. It quickly became apparent even before my second morning trip down to the front desk that window cleaners were using the area immediately above and in front of our $430/night hotel room as a staging area. Had we been informed of this in advance we would happily have moved to a less expensive room to enjoy the privilege of a quiet environment that would let us sleep in.
When I went to the front desk, the friendly team (same folks I spoke with the previous day) realized immediately what the issue was and said they would "see what could be done about our bill". I made sure to be very clear that this was the second day in a row that we had been unwillingly awakened by what was essentially an own-goal by management. I trusted that the friendly and competent staff would address the issue appropriately.
The next morning we had to check out earlier and head for the airport. Unfortunately no one on duty seemed to know anything about our issues. Our total price was close to what I expected, so I didn't realize (nor was I told) until I saw the receipt that they had in fact adjusted our bill.by discounting us 15 percent off the final night of our four night stay - about a four percent discount overall.
Every business will inevitably have hiccups - the true test is how it responds. To say we were underwhelmed by the hotel's response in this case is an understatement.

I booked this place for my recent trip to Montréal for a concert event. The property is immaculate and the room was beautiful and very clean. The staff were great to deal with and made me feel welcome and at home. The bed and pillows were especially comfortable. I will book again on my next Montréal adventure!

Je n’ai pas séjourné dans cet hôtel, mais suite aux grèves mon vol a été annulé et l’hôtel a accepté de me rembourser sans frais alors que le délai d’annulation sans frais était largement dépassé. Le personnel au téléphone a été très serviable et gentil. J’espère pouvoir séjourner à nouveau dans cet hôtel et je les remercie.

We arrived to the hotel on a Friday evening. The room itself was spacious and looked nice, especially since it was a corner room with a large wall of windows. I did notice the coffee pods were not stocked, nor was the sugar, but we did have waters.

After being in the room for a bit we realized that the AC was not working. When we went to dinner we informed the front desk and they said they would have it checked. When we arrived back, they informed us that it was broken and offered to move us.

We were moved to the same room, but on the 15th floor and the ac did indeed work. We did notice a few things off the bat - the room was not stocked with coffee, again, and this time no water either. As we opened the windows to enjoy the view, we noticed a very prominent dirty window and it was pretty clear that a couple of someones enjoyed their time against that window.and the housekeeping staff did not clean it. OK, not ideal, but the blinds are really hard to adjust - we had to stand on a stool to reach the cord (and hubby isn't short), so maybe they missed it because they didn't open the blinds.

These are definitely minor inconveniences but we visit Montreal twice a month and have stayed at a variety of hotels and so far, this just was not living up to the price that we paid or our expectations.

The cherry on top of our one night stay was when we went to get our car in the morning, the valet informed us that it would not start. It is a brand new Jeep Cherokee with no issues. My husband went with the valet to check to see what was happening and it was quickly apparent that they drained our battery. We have automatic headlights and there is no reason they should have been touched.but they had been. They also adjusted the overhead lights - I have no idea why. So needless to say, our entire day was delayed, as we had to wait for their battery packs to charge the battery. We finally said we were going to get breakfast and when we came back, the car was pulled out of the garage and waiting for us.

We did speak to the front desk before we went to breakfast about all of these issues and she said she was going to contact her manager to see what we could do. When we got back, it was our understanding that they were going to give us a free stay. She gave us the card of the manager, and told us to contact her to arrange everything.

So today we did just that. And the manager stated that no, we wouldn't be receiving a free stay but she would give us a discounted rate with an upgrade and free parking.however, the rate she gave us was MORE than we paid last weekend AND more than if we just booked through a 3rd party site (yes, we checked)! So apparently they say things they don't mean and then don't actually care about customer experience or fixing wrongs they made. We hadn't written them off totally and were willing to give them another chance until this farse of an offer.

We would 100% recommend Hotel Nelligan or Embassy Suites (amazing value - free happy hour drinks and free full service breakfast - and Janelle, the server remembers our names, even if it's been a month or two since we've been) in Old Port and either Hôtel Chez Swann or Vogue in Downtown - all of which have had amazing customer service and great accommodations (Embassy could use a remodel, but its a great value and we still enjoy it there).

A classic style establishment with traditional decor and atmosphere, very conveniently located. We arrived very late and left early so had little contact with staff. Room was very comfortable but did not give the impression of being meticulously maintained.

Nicht ganz so grosses Hotel mit schönen Zimmern. Bad ist gross. Strassenlärm ist erträglich. Bahnhof und Hop on hop off Station ganz in der Nähe. Lebhafte Umgebung.
