Le Super Qualité

Food’s not bad. A bit overpriced and overrated. I’ve traveled to India extensively and can tell you that some of Super Qualité’s flavours are authentic. Their meat selection however could be better and broader. This place may appeal to some with an inexperienced palate…but with an incredible number of better priced and better quality restaurants in Parc-Ex, I suggest to skip this place.

Love the pav bhaji, Dahi batata puri and okra fries the first time I came here. The second time must have been a few years later and I got the masala dosa and sol kadhi. They were a match made in heaven. I also took a veg Thali in their metal takeout containers that you have to pay a deposit on and return within 14 days to get your money back which I probably would have not done if I knew because I’m very busy. (Edit: as I put it in my nice canvas tote bag nobody bothered to warn me that it’s not leak proof so when I was out doing groceries the grocery store gave me a bag to put it in and in which it continued to leak despite being upright so without this bag it would have been a real big accident. I still had to spend an hour or more after trying to get the stains out of my tote and I didn’t manage to get it all out and then realized there was a fishy smell so I checked and turns out they didn’t give me the veg Thali because it had shrimp in it. Even at the resto I got a bill saying not veg thali and then asked why am I being charged for this didn’t you make me the veg thali and the waitress said yes I’m sure they did and just corrected my bill instead of checking in with the chefs about the error so she lied. It’s a good thing I’m a flexitarian or it would have gone to waste. I’ll still eat it but disappointed at the lack of professionalism and honesty.) It was all good though.the second time I was here I found one waitress to be a bit rude to me but the other waitress and chefs were so nice. I was wondering if I could get an empty dosa for the leftover sauce but the waitress said it wasn’t possible and only suggested the pav in a condescending tone which I said I would take if it was the only option but the chefs brought me over a chapati from my thali which I was so happy with. Then when I ordered a second chapati she was making me feel like I was difficult even though I didn’t mind paying for it. And they didn’t bring me water, a napkin and cutlery the whole time even though everyone else got some. Then as I got up to leave I poured myself a cup of their tea because it seemed like it was on the table of the cups you can take and thus possibly a complimentary tea or hot water. Apparently it isn’t usually but bcuz I didn’t know and it was towards the end of the night, they didn’t charge me and or mind and the nicer waitress offered me a glass of room temp water I guess once realizing I never got some. This chai tea was a must try. I came back a third time to return my containers and got their new veg thali in house which is incredible and so big. My favourite was the sweet potatoes but each dish was perfect. The staff were all so nice this last time! I still look forward to returning. People can be hit or miss but the food is always a hit and the staff are generally great

Belle sélection de plats super savoureux et délicieux; petit restaurant avec bonne ambiance casual et bon service. Le dosa, les thalis et les dahi batata puri sont à essayer et il ne faut pas sous-estimer les petits biscuits pour le dessert!

Cuisine, ambiance, service tout est absolument parfait! Mon restaurant indien préféré à Montréal, j'ai vraiment hâte d'y retourner:)

My favorite dining experience in Montreal. The food was an absolute flavor overload and had a perfect kick, without being overwhelmingly spicy. I could not recommend this place more!

There have been probably just 1 or 2 other places that have recieved all 5 stars from me (for real, browse my other reviews). This place deserves every single one of them, in fact, if there were anymore stars, I would gladly give it to them. Le. Super Qualite - truly SUPER GURU! You guys have nailed it, every single apsect and every single dish - the usage of ingredients at the right proportions, the balance in the spiciness/sweetness/tanginess of each dish, the menu selection, the ambiance and the pricing (both from a consumer and business perspective), you guys have achieved perfection. A rare feat! In my opinion, you wouldn't find this perfect INDIAN cooking and menu, in all of Montreal, oh what the hell, in all of Canada!
Our host, knew every single aspect of the cuisine, the story behind the theme and a lot about the culture of the food he was handling. That to me, in my books, is respect for your craft. 10/10.

P. S - for new visitors to Montreal, try this place. It's worth every penny. Try as many dishes as you can. For folks from Karnataka - as my wife put it, you are sure to have an Anton Ego moment where you will be taken back to your childhood and to the streets you belonged to. For Kannadigas, it's one of the very few places in this part of the world that are kannada themed for the most parts. Their theme seems to have borrowed a lot of stuff from Uppi's Super movie, their logo is the super symbol etc. You will find kannada sentences used extensively in the restaurant. Guess what? The owners are not Indian, they are localites. It seems, as I was told by the host, that many moons ago, the 3 owners travelled across India and had great food and when they came back from India, they didnt find that quality and taste they had had in India. So they returned to India to those specific places to learn about the culture, food culture, understand the recipes and came back to start this snack bar. Dishes are limited but perfected even to the garnish. Their Mysore masala dosa would put a lot of restaurants to shame and I'm a masala dosa hunter.

The real deal. Ingredients and technique are a cut above the usual here but prices are reasonable and the vibe is casual. Had tried the one at central first but the thali and fried okra here are out of sight… will be back for sure!

We tried masala dosa and dahi batata puri. The dosa served had fresh authentic aroma and the chutney is freshly made on order. Taste was really good.
Dahi batata puri was good too. Would absolutely visit this place on our trip to Montreal.

Take out. Gréât fried chicken, great vegetarian options but the lamb burgers are terrible: texture was not good! And they were not cooked through! For 17$ I expected way better lamb burger!

Delicious delicious delicious! The thali, and chili paneer were killer. The chai was scrumptious. I would come back all the time. Also the prices were super reasonable

C'est un tout petit resto, donc il y a de l'attente avant d'entrer.
Mais la ligne avance vite, et la nourriture vaut parfaitement l'attente.
C'est très bon, beaucoup de goût dans les plats.
J'ai trouvé que 2 entrées + un plat partagé sont suffisant pour 2 personnes.

I recently got a chance to have meal at Le Super Qualite and had an incredible Indian food experience. It was hard to believe that the food, prepared by a French cook, was so authentic and delicious. The dosa, in particular, surpassed those from many renowned South Indian restaurants. The staff was exceptionally friendly and added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Great spot! Have a drink and share some delicious south indian street style snacks. Go for the Dahi Batata Puri & the Chili Paneer. They have a nice terrace in the summer.

We had to wait a little bit but at the enf it was worth it, really nice concept alongside with really good food. Would add more options in the dessert tho. Loved the merch too.

Incredible food. This is not your typical Jean Talon West paki/punjabi butter chicken restaurant. They serve southern style authentic food. Loved it.

On dit souvent que quand il y a une file d’attente, ça vaut le coup d’essayer. Des épices? Il y en a à profusion. Tout était à notre goût. Notre coup de coeur a été le Dahi Batata Puri. Quel délice. C’est certain que ce casse-croûte occupera une place dans mon répertoire de recommandations. Un petit plus serait d’expliquer un peu les plats servis.

Our 2nd time here and the food is brilliant… every dish is rich with flavor without being bland or extremely overdone with spices. The service is quick and the decor just adds to the experience. I can write praise upon praise but would hope they keep doing what they’re doing.

Yes i love their food but why quantity is very less? Pav bhaji is for 12 $ on uber and extra pav 1.52. And they give me very less sauce of bhaji. I paid for my food full so why you are giving less quantity for the sauce. In future if u don’t have enough sauce please don’t show it on uber. Thanx.

Had the Masala Dosa with cheese and it was so mind-bendingly good i was like.have i ever eaten food before? Couldn't talk it was so good.

Livraison hyper rapide. Très bons plats, des recettes créatives. Ça change de la cuisine indienne traditionnelle en respectant tous ses codes. Porte très bien son nom!
