Have been to this store for many years and haven't had too many issues. Be careful however when ordering magic the gathering products in advance from Valet as they will cancel your (already paid) order if they contain items that have recently increased in market price, and tell you it's because of an "inventory error". Rest assured that the item in question will be back in stock very soon after for you to repurchase at a much higher price. Not a good way to treat your loyal customers if you ask me.

Great place for boardgames addict and other curiosity. Good place for last idea gift aswell!

J'y retourne c'est sûr! En fait je n'irai plus ailleurs pour acheter mes jeux. Je n'ai jamais vu autant de choix de jeux de société en magasin. Ils ont tout et les employés m'ont beaucoup aidés.

On the face things seem fine as a brick and mortar shop. But some of the stuff they do with pre-order card singles is shady. They'll take your money, but if a card spikes they will refund you the money. If the card drops, you bet you they will ship out your card. If you're just buying something off the shelf like a board game you are probably ok as it's hard to get ripped off there. But if customer service comes into play buyer beware - odds are they will screw you over to their own benefit (eg.not taking back returns, pre-order shenanigans, etc).

This place is a gem. The first time I went, I was lost in a haven of boardgames with no clue as to what I wanted. I was graciously helped by someone who quickly understood what I needed without knowing what I wanted and they didn't disappoint. I don't think I would go to any other store other than this for boardgames. The staff are very friendly and highly knowledgeable about their games. I always look forward to shopping here.

This was a first date night. We wanted to go to colonel moutarde.

We show up at Colonel Moutarde and it's a full occupation. Never fear. Valet de coeur saved the day.

A nice staff suggested a few games that we bought. We headed to a nearby bar and made our own board game bar

They have so many games! It’s a very big store. They had both games I was hoping to find, though one was only in French.

Amazing customer service! You go in to find what you're looking for and you'll find it (if you don't, they'll order it). But they'll also give you tons of suggestions with similar games and you'll leave with awesome games that you knew nothing about! 100% satisfait a chaque visite!

Their selection of games and books is amazing, they have great service and support. Their stuff give great advice to find games.

Chaque fois que je met les peids dans cette boutique, j’ai l’impression de déranger. Pas une très bonne expérience.

Se faire dire par un employé avec la typique flemme Parisienne de se déplacer pour venir voir sur place s'ils ont tel volume en usagé parce qu'il ne "peut pas vérifier dans son système informatique". Pour se rentre compte que c'est littéralement une petite section d'étagère qui se parcourt en ~1min. Le tout en pleine pandémie. Service assez paresseux pour ce genre de commerce, dont le service est pourtant LA PRINCIPALE chose qu'ils ont à offrir pour rivaliser le e-commerce en 2021. C- pour l'effort.

Un magasin dangereux à visiter pour les amateurs de jeux en tout genre. Beaucoup de choix avec un personnel capable de bien conseiller et aider.

Super belle sélection de jeux de toutes sortes. Le personnel est super aidant. Vraiment la place pour magasiner les jeux sur St-Denis.

Je viens de passer prendre une commande pick up devant le magasin. La dame qui m’a apporté mon livre a été courtoise et m’a dit bonne chance avec les ronins. Merci beaucoup!

Excellent service à la clientèle! Avant mon achat (en ligne) j’ai téléphoné et un employé super sympathique as pris le temps de répondre à toutes mes questions et de me conseiller en allant chercher les infos nécessaires pour le faire. Ensuite, malheureusement la boîte de mon jeu a été abîmé dans le transport. J’ai reçu une réponse super rapide à mon courriel et j’ai été très satisfaite de la résolution de mon problème.

Bref, même à distance (pandémie l’oblige), le service est excellent et je recommande ce magasin à tous.

Made an order for cards. The order was later cancelled by the store and refunded to me the next day. Le valet claimed there was an inventory error, yet when I returned to their website the same evening that the refund took place, there the cards were with the exact same inventory count, but at a higher price.

When I called the store to inquire if this was a legal business practice on their part, I was insulted by the manager, who said I was a shark trying to take advantage of a recent spike in the pricing of the card.

Guess he didn’t see the irony there.

Très bon service. Boutique avec du choix. On vous propose de l'aide sans s'imposer. Il y a un peu de tout jeux, produits officiel sous licence, etc. J'y reviendrais avec plaisir:)

Do not go to the valet d'coeur for magic their individual pack are scams and the staff is super rude.

Maybe the most well-stocked games store in Montreal. I called 5 different places in the city and finally found what I was looking for here. Everything from toys to TTRPGs to boardgames and more. Friendly staff, very welcoming and helpful. I'll be back any time I need dice, minis, or whatever.

It's a Montreal institution that definitely has seen better days. They've been hearing away from RPG stuff to more commercial souvenirs and it shows.

If you're looking for a board game, any kind and any level.
We are complete board game newbies and it shows, but the staff we spoke to were very patient and helpful and recommended us some great games.
Definitey my first choice in town when I'm looking for a board game or advice,

The arrogance and the carelessness of the clerks working in the MTG department is mindblowing. Atrocious card grading skills.

Once I was told that they don't grade every card.something that I find odd (especially in the case of foil cards, but whatever. I guess that most people don't have high quality standards/expectations from this store) but I went with the flow.

Second experience was yesterday. I placed an online order, went in store to pick it up, to be yet disappointed by the card condition. (Their website described it as near mint, yet it had a crease on the front and two long slashes on the back of it.hardly NM). Not only I have to wait about 24 hours for a refund (maybe their staff can't be trusted with simple tasks as such?), I wasted my time, and had to deal with the attitude of a clerk (who wasnt the one I dealt with) that said something along the lines of "oh boy, what's the problem? " To which I replied "card condition wasnt as announced"

. To be told: "Bah, things happen"

How the hell is that remotely close to good customer service? Absolutely unacceptable. Their whole crew needs to be fired.

Also, there is the manager that flat out openly admit to cancel orders in a discretionary manner if foreign customers buy something that the price of wasnt adjusted in time: like if your merchandise cannot be priced accurately, this is not my problem, or my friend's problem that took my word, just to be disappointed by someone (Jamie, I think) with a huge Napoleon complex. Hey man, get your things together, man up and own up to your crew's shortcomings.

Valet was the first gaming store I ever went to, it'll also be the first one I'll stop going to. How can people go there when there is friendlier stores in town is mindblowing to me.

For the love of God, if you value your time and your money, go shop somewhere else.

Found this little hidden gem of a card store by chance when I walked by and noticed a sign for the Pokémon TCG. Main shop area is full of plenty of board games and other similar games. There's also a few tables in the back, most likely to play games at the store. Then to the side there's a little nook for the Pokémon TCG and Magic the Gathering. They had binders for purchase as well as sleeves. There were plenty of packs, boosters, bundles and decks available. They also had single cards available for purchase and the staff was very friendly.

They have a great selection of games with very knowledgeable staff. Would recommend to anyone looking for games in Montreal.

Great board games store. Biggest variety on the island. Also good range of card games, role playing games and gift ideas. Always a pleasure to visit outside Christmas period.

Vraiment l'endroit par excellence pour trouver des jeux. Il y a de tout, des casse-têtes au jeux de rôles. Le service y est excellent. Le personnel s'y connait et peut bien conseiller. Facile d'accès, métro Mont-Royal. Les prix y sont corrects.
