Le Vin Papillon

All dishes are meant for sharing, but please note that the serving sizes are small. While ham with slices of cheese is out of the ordinary, nothing else impressed me at all. Desserts are so-so.

We went there yesterday and the vibe was amazing! The waiter was super helpful to choose the dishes and drinks.

Easy five out five. Even though they were quite busy on Thursday night, the service was fantastic. The food marvellous and they accommodated me, my partner and our huge stroller in one of the sides.

Great wine selection and delicious food. Exactly what you would expect from a high quality wine bar/resto in Montreal. A great selection of small dishes to share as well, it does get busy during prime dinner hours. We did feel a bit rushed at the end of the dinner, as the reservation was already there, but it is to be expected at a busy popular spot.

An interesting restaurant! A superb menu and wine list. The atmosphere is intriguing and the service top notch.

The food was very good but extremely salty. So much so, some of the dishes lack the taste of the product because of the high sodium content.

We love this place! This is the second time we’ve dined here and both times were excellent. The food is outstanding and the staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. We will return!

Delicious tapas style menu.
Everything tasted amazing, I particularly enjoyed the anchovie bread with compound herb butter.
The service was quick and attentive and everything felt very fresh.
There were a lot of interesting wine bottles options and the server did a great job with her recommendations.

I wish I could review this better but the server Joel behind the bar constantly focusing on serving only the single woman got old very quickly and impacted our experience. Would not return if he was our server

I really enjoyed the food but the service was awful. We were sat behind the bar and the male server named Joel I think was only focused on serving the woman there. We had empty glasses for most of our meal. It's a shame because I heard so many good things

My date and I sat by the bar.there wasn’t lots of room for us to be comfortable but it wasn’t much of a deal breaker since it’s pretty much the experience we knew we would get by sitting at the bar.the concept of the restaurant would be to order more than one dish and to share them, which is what we did.the food was good, without being anything “exceptional”. I was quite disappointed when it came to choosing a dessert: the choices were somehow very alike. (two out of three had ice cream in it).
as for the service, the waiter was simply doing her job. Let’s say the bartender was more friendly!

Honestly one of the best service I’ve had in a restaurant, absolutely every staff was knowledgeable, friendly, efficient and they even apologized at the beginning since there was a lot of people in the restaurant and we never even waited in the end. Food was also tasty and fresh. It is tapas style so for 3 person we shared 8 small meals with one dessert each! Most of the pictures I took were taken after we eaten because it looked too good we couldn’t wait! Honestly a must try for a good night

The staff assist in pairing wine with their fabulous food and their selections​ are impeccable. I have never had a bad dish here. Wish I could award more than 5 stars. They deserve it.

Love the concept of having small plates to share! The maiitake mushroom doesn’t look the prettiest on photos but it is so delicious. Was a bit hesitant about the ham & cheese as it just looks too simple a dish to order at a restaurant but it is surprisingly flavorful, definitely a must!

A bit expensive for what you get. Excellent service. Great wines. Food cart is a bit conservative. I’ve seen the same in other restaurants for less expensive. You pay for the brand.

Alex was our server and she was amazing! So kind and helpful, she really knows her stuff! She seems like a truly beautiful person! The food was great but the service was even better.

It is a VERY unique French dining experience (highly recommend going as a group to share). The food is infused with flavors of all kinds, from vegetarian to the meat dishes. We could pick items from the menu or ask for surprise. My group asked for a surprise and we were definitely happy with our choices! The patio was beautiful as well. The food was very affordable, underrated for Montreal standards!

Good service and lovely spot but the food was pretty average for the higher price. I understand the concept is to focus on great fresh ingredients but all of the dishes were a little underwhelming and the portions were quite small. Nothing was bad, but for the price and the hype in the other reviews, it just didn’t feel worth a $300 dinner for 2. The cheese and bread at the end was probably the highlight for me.

Nous avons adoré notre expérience. Le service fut excellent (ont a manqué de rien). C’était mon anniversaire et il mon surpris discrètement avec un feu de Bengale (très mignon). Le menu était sophistiqué et diversifié. Très inclusif, ce restaurant est parfait pour ceux qui ont des restrictions alimentaires. Merci à vous pour cette soirée mémorable, nous reviendrons assurément!

It can be hard to get a table here, but we’ll worth it. The food is awesome and lots of interesting wines to try

L’expérience d’hier fut décevante et pas à la hauteur de ce que le vin papillon avait l’habitude de nous faire vivre. Nous aimions ce resto justement à cause que même en étant végétariens, le vin papillon arrivait à créer des plats et des options qui étaient mémorables. Ce ne fut pas le cas hier. Très peu d’option végétariennes au menu. Service impeccable et accommodant qui a proposé quelques variantes des plats sans viandes, mais ceux ci n’ont eu que la viande de retirée, sans ajout et surtout au prix du plat avec viande. L’éclair au carotte fumée si spéciale, pas au menu. J’ai eu l’impression que les végétariens ne sont plus une clientèle cible du resto. Très décevant.
J’espère que l’arrivée de la saison chaude et ses légumes pourront redonner à ce resto sa vraie nature champêtre. (Papillon)
