I went to Légende because their "big brother restaurant" La Tanière wasn't opened that day. I Had a weird feeling of "get the hell out of there" the second I sat down.and I regret not doing so. The decor reminded me of those "we charge 22$ for our burgers without side orders" type of place with "Corno" inspired golden frames you see everywhere. It had that cheap nouveau rich look. The food now. I'm very impressed with the fact that they use local products and it was why I was curious and eager to go there in the first place. I was not impressed with the food itself. Nothing really stood out besides maybe one dish and I'm absolutely NOT a picky eater. To be honest I had a much MUCH better dessert from Boulay for 6$ that same day.

The fact that I don't drink alcohol probably didn't help since the waiter was really into selling me his wine selection. The table next to me kept on praising their wine so I guess it's what they are good at.

The reason why I'm posting with a one star review is because of one specific waiter. Throughout the service I had 3 different waiters serving me and I'd like to point the fact that I'm aware how awkward it is to serve a timid person eating alone in a fancy restaurant.

I gradually started making small talk and at the end of the service asked one of the waiter for his restaurant recommendation. I paid with my card since I didn't have enough liquid money but made sure to leave them a good tip in cash. (Total was 140$ and I left a 50$ tip) The waiter was visibly furious and playing with the bill while talking to me because he didn't see that I had placed money in the card holder. I had confirmation of his assholness when he gave me the silent treatment when I left and wished them a good evening.

The next day, I went to l'Affaire est Ketchup and had an incredible time and food for half the price.

We went here and got the tasting menu. It was very good. We shared 1 wine pairing and 1 non alcoholic pairing and it was perfect. The non alcoholic cocktails were very impressive from start to finish and I think more restaurants should adopt this.

Food was ok. The server was so not showing any enthusiasm at all, it was a total vibe killer.
They served us champagne in a wine glass and when we asked for changing into a flute, the server seemed shocked and there was an awkward silence for a few seconds as if it's a weird request to have champagne served in a flute!
The server helpers who explained the food were a lot more helpful and cheerful when we interacted with them and asked them questions.
The oysters don't really taste like oysters! They don't serve lime or lemon with them and they are just very spicy and unpleasant. Oysters must be sour in my opinion and when asked for lemon/lime, the server said they don't have anything "international" in their restaurant that's why they don't lemon/lime, while Ontario and Québec produce over 70% of Canada's total lime. Lol.

*Overall very disappointed.

Restaurant Legende. Menu dégustation incroyable. Le menu change selon la saison avec des ingrédients locaux. Nous partons de Montreal simplement pour venir y souper. Wow! Un must.

The Ambient & lighting made a comforting and relaxing atmosphere. Service was superb. The 7 course tasting menu was well balanced (perfectly portioned) and every dish was amazing. Definitely the highlight of our weekend trip to Quebec City

Une première expérience gastronomique au Québec et pas des moindres! Dans un cadre simple mais élégant, nous avons eu le plaisir de découvrir de délicieuses saveurs à travers des plats raffinés et concoctés avec des produits régionaux de qualité. Un service irréprochable, attentionné et plein de sourires, lequel nous a permis de passer un agréable moment. Nous reviendrons sans aucune hésitation!
Petit +: l'accord "mets/sans alcool" était extrêmement appréciable et les mocktails proposés étaient à la hauteur des plats que nous avons pu savourer.

Just wanted to say again a big "Thank You" to the team at Légende! Had a fabulous experience at this restaurant. Came here with my very good friends, and I wanted them to see this place and experience the food. Wish we had this restaurant in Toronto (where we are from).

We decided to have the 7 course tasting menu with an addition of Canadian sturgeon caviar. It was a big hit with the gang. Our server Marc was very professional and yet still made the evening very fun and entertaining. He took great care of us, even let me take that little caviar tin home as a souvenir of this great night. I will not go into super fine detail of every course, but some highlights are as follows:

Mises en Bouche (Tasting Box)
The presentation first off was spectacular! The little branches that were used as skewers, super impressive.

Chamomile course
The elegance of chamomile oil with the pan seared scallop. Mhmmmmmm, mind-blowing.

Dessert courses

The first one you got was the tarragon ice-cream. I will say the flavors bring me back to a childhood drink that was popular in my country. I quite enjoy seeing tarragon used in a sweet manner. The end course just left all of us speechless. There is so much lemon flavor without the use of any lemons.

To sum it up. Hats off to Chef Elliot Beaudoin and his team. He definitely helped us discover the hidden treasures of the Boreal region.

Chef Beaudoin masterfully highlights local ingredients and the mixologist creates the most surprising non-alcoholic pairings. You will not be disappointed!

J'ai pris le menu dégustation 7 services avec l'accord Mocktail.
Les mocktails étaient vraiment excellent, on y goûtait vraiment les ingrédients locaux tout en subtilité.
Le barman était très sympathique et consciencieux.
La présentation des plats était très bien, mais étant des cueilleurs amateurs et cuisinant beaucoup de produits locaux nous avons été déçu par les plats qui à notre avis étaient trop salés et manquait de subtilité. Le goût y était mais celui des herbes et épices locales complètement camouflé dans le trop de saveurs.

Attendez vous à payer un minimum de 150$ par personnes avant pourboires.

Incroyable expérience. Le staff, l’endroit. La BOUFFE. à refaire. Merci spécial à Max, notre serveur. C’est plus qu’un restaurant, c’est un souvenir mémorable.

J’énumèrerai ci dessous nos commentaires:
Premièrement nos mockails et cocktails d’arrivées étaient vraiment délicieux et le barman était très accueillant et avait l’air de prendre plaisir à nous partager des informations concernant les produits utilisés… on aurait dû rester au bar finalement
En réalité nous allions à ce resto pour vivre une expérience différente;
Je suis moi même une cueilleuse de plantes sauvages et boréale peut- être que mes attentes étaient trop élevées? Mais les mets servi ne nous impressionnaient pas par des saveurs différentes malheureusement!
On a trouvé les différents mets (nous avions le 7 services) pour la plupart trop salé ou trop sucré ce qui malheureusement camoufle la subtilité des différentes plantes utilisées
Le carvi sauvage, nous ne l’avons jamais goûté dans notre mets même si nous le connaissons très bien ainsi que plusieurs autres plantes
J’en mettrais quelques GRAINES ENTIERES pour faire un certain effet en bouche (genre sur la pétoncle!) je parle ici du carvi
Le service était bien, mais trop d’informations dit rapidement et quand nous avions une question histoire de comprendre un peu (car c’était ça le trip) et bien on sentait que le serveur ou serveuse retenait son impatience! Alors pourquoi donner le résumé de ce qu’on mange seulement à la fin DONNEZ LE DONC SVP DÈS LE DEBUT on pourrait le consulter tout le long du souper sans gêne de vous demander de répéter.
En vous félicitant malgré tout pour votre audace d’utiliser la nature sauvage du Québec et de mettre à l’honneur nos agriculteurs et producteurs locaux
*Malheureusement pour accompagner notre souper une dame et sa mère assissent à peine à 50cm de nous parlaient à tu tête du début à la fin de notre souper, vraiment désagréable: (
Bravo au barman qui nous a impressionné avec ses mocktails pas trop sucrés, très différents les uns des autres et heureusement on y goûtait bien les subtilités des arômes et des plantes utilisés

Two friends and I went to Legende for dinner recently. We must say that we had a lovely evening and indulged in the tasting menu - I would highly recommend. It left me feeling very satisfied but not so much so that I left feeling uncomfortable.

The cocktails and wine selection were excellent and the staff very helpful and made great efforts to speak to us English.

Near the end of the night an older woman and her son (or perhaps a yonger husband) were sat beside us. She was unfortunately one of those people who are never pleased. She complained porfousley when a dish she ordered was delivered "too late" for her liking (even though they requested their food arrive slower). She exclaimed on several occasions that no one would eat at 11 o'clock - even though she sat for dinner at 9: 30pm. I must say the wait staff tried tirelessly to please her.

Again, great service even to those who did little to warrant it. If in Quebec City please check out!

Merveilleux souper hier à la Légende. Des plats goûteux et recherchés, un service impeccable (merci Daniel). Mon coup de coeur a été pour le Matricaire Ananas qui me donne sérieusement envie de revenir une deuxième fois avant le changement de menu

This was much better experience than expected as mentioned in reviews. Worth it. Strongly recommend here.

Vraiment un excellent restaurant! Nourriture et service impeccable. Je recommande définitivement pour ceux qui peuvent se le permettre.

We visited this restaurant a whopping four years ago, so this is a fashionably late review.
Four years later we still talk fondly about this place as one of our best dining experiences. Hoping to come back to Quebec City soon and will surely revisit.

Excellente expérience culinaire, excellent service avec une mention spéciale pour Marika, qui nous a accompagné avec un sourire, un professionnalisme incomparable et un enthousiasme. Un incontournable à a ville du Québec.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary at this restaurant. What a perfect venue. Outstanding, attentive service; FABULOUS food (scallops, lobster, etc) - even the bread was over-the-top wonderful. Can't recommend highly enough.

Excellent, innovative food. Great service. Beautiful interior. Definitely worth the price.

How to begin.
I wanted to take my wife out for her birthday, and since she is a foody and writes for Asian magazine. Not easy to impress her
We've already tried many Québec restaurants since we got a condo in old Québec late 2021.
For the presentation, we give 10/10
Beautiful dishes, colorful and eye gazing!
The atmosphere we can't give more than 5/10.one of the staff at the counter was super loud, and all we could hear in the restaurant was his voice talking to 2 ladies during the 2 hours we were there.
Food we give 6/10.most of the dishes were good but the small pieces of bavette in the main course were chewy and the dessert not up to this kind of place!
Service 5/10.we felt that the staff was not trained to the level of expectation! A bit robotic and cold.

Such a romantic experience. My husband and I ordered the tasting menu with the Légende wine pairing and it was the best dining experience of my life. Zachary, the man who served us, was passionate about the story the food was telling us and was super kind and helpful. The wine pairings were wonderful and truly enhanced each dish. Highly recommend. I was so entranced by the process that I didn’t get any photos of the food, but every plate was beyond beautiful.

J'ai poussé de nombreux "oh! " et "ah! " impressionnés durant mon repas à Légende. Un repas mémorable! J'ai énormément apprécié la disponibilité de plusieurs accords possibles (vins découverte ou prestige et même mocktails). Un coup de coeur!
